Always shorts. If someone buys him pants, he cuts them to shorts. He just likes the freeness of it. Or something like that. His headband is worn around his neck, loosely. At times, he will push it up to his head, to secure his hair when necessary. He wears the Suna black shinobi sandals, and no other adornments. BODY APPEARANCE ▶ Ryu is of an average height, standing at 5'10", and an average, if not lean, body type, at about 125 pounds. Beneath his clothing is a pale skin tone, with light muscles visible, though they hardly express his natural-born strength. Some would describe him as thin and lanky, but his appearance defies his true ability.

He's a habitual smoker, nearly a pack a day kinda guy, and often, people telling him to quit was the reason he pushed them away. Priorities, yay.

Special: Strength of absorbed attack depends on the Sunagami's highest 'Essence of Sand' rank. Up to one blow can be absorbed per thread, plus one more each time retrained.
Description: As the Sunagami further their understanding of the control over their sand bodies, their skill in altering their density composition enhances. In this case, rather than simply breaking up into a tuff of floating sand, the Sunagami learns to absorb the blow, increasing their layers of sand compacting the region to be struck as well building up the pressure in said area, so that when struck the weapon or limb is stuck within. To the opponent, it'll feel as if they had buried their weapon/hand in quicksand. By reforming around the impact point, they are able to trick their opponent into coming in for an obvious attack. From this point, they can finish their opponent off, or capture them for later use.

Suna no Tate (Shield of Sand)

Special: Size and chakra consumption of sand shield is directly proportionate to attack being blocked. Blocks attacks of equal rank learned in a 360 degree radius, as long as the user can see them coming. Shield requires only a single hand-seal to operate. Judge will determine whether fast enough attacks bypass the shield each time it’s used. Highest rank known determines the level of attacks blocked.
Description: Although appearing to be one of the most basic sand jutsu, Suna no Tate is a technique that soon evolves into the user’s most sacred defensive countermeasure. Always active, the shield that protects the user is formed from a large sand presence, and does so under its own will. When needed, the user can also use their own chakra to control the sand so that it can act as a barrier. Because the protection is reliant upon how quickly the user’s sand can respond, it is possible a fast enough ninja can bypass the sand and strike the user.

Once this link is achieved, the door is opened for greater creations to be made.

Special: As Sunagami deplete in Chakra and Stamina, they lose their ability to control their sand transformations, and thus begin reverting to a immobile mound of sand. When first learned, the Sunagami are protected from physical attacks by automatically losing density in the targeted area and thus becoming nothing more than a cloud of floating sand. Floating cloud form can be sustained for up to one turn, plus one more each rank above 'D' is earned before they are forced to revert to their humanoid state. All Sungami are susceptible to Suiton, Katon, Youton and Fuuton - water of ANY rank can severely interfere with the Sunagami's transformation ability, forcing extra chakra drain due to the added weight of the water; wind can quickly break up their essence when they revert to sand, making it impossible to reform; fire techniques of equal rank or higher to the user's 'Essence of Sand' rank can turn the clan member into glass, instantly killing them; the same goes for lava, except since the release is stronger, it takes lava techs one rank less than the user's highest 'Essence of Sand' jutsu in order to produce the same glassy effect.
Description: Though Sunagami take on a humanoid appearance and are in fact born as normal humans, with time their Special: DNA is awakened through the extensive use of chakra, allowing them to revert to their more natural state - Sand. Though it is incorrect to say Sunagami are made of pure Sand, they are completely human either, and this technique proves it. The center behind all of their techniques, Sunayama no Jutsu allows the Sand Men the ability to properly control their innate ability to turn into sand at will, either to defend from incoming attacks, or do create Special: attacks of their own.
