Nishi no Ryuu, Dragon of the West
History of the Dragons
Not much is exactly known about these mythological creatures except that they are on uneasy terms with the Phoenix and Kirin families, as some sort of hate triangle as it were. However, this is mainly due to the fact that the Nishi no Ryuu are often discriminated against for being dragons, which in fact it is the Azuma no Ryuu, the Dragons of the East, that have the feud against the Phoenix and Kirin. Because of the animosity between the dragons and the Phoenix and Kirin, it was known at some point that an alliance between the Nishi no Ryuu and the Azuma no Ryuu was formed in order to benefit one another, although the Nishi no Ryuu still harbour disdain towards their eastern cousins for having them been affected by this "clan war".
Within the course of centuries only one man had ever taken up the contracts of the Nishi no Ryuu, a Shinobi named Saizo Marushagan. However, throughout the course of his life he had never even thought about passing down the summoning contract to any of his descendants or even close friends or apprentices, and so when it was time for Saizo to arrive at death's door the summoning contract was sealed within his own tomb for decades. However, not wishing for their contract to be taken, the dragons reluctantly agreed to graverob Saizo's tomb for the summoning contract and has since them kept it with them should another shinobi come to claim it.

Trial of the Dragon
The Nishi no Ryuu are elusive to say the best, and their location is not known to anyone besides those who are actively seeking them. According to Saizo Marushagan, the last known wielder of the Nishi no Ryuu contract, their stronghold is located somewhere between the Land of Fire and the Land of Lightning atop of a mountainous plateau that is shrouded by clouds and ash, and as such is difficult for anyone but with a strong body and mind to reach its peak; in fact, it took Saizo 12 days to reach the peak. Scaling this mountain, otherwise known as the Horn of Shen Long, has been dubbed the Trial of the Dragon.
Upon the top of the plateau is a flat surface and contains what seems like a huge village in its own right, housed only by western dragons as the name would suggest. Many different dragons rest here in a variety of looks and colors, as well as various shapes and sizes.

Breath of the Dragon
All dragons are remembered not for their huge sizes, intimidating looks or the fact that they have huge claws, teeth and a battering ram for a tail, but for the fact that they can produce natural elements within their body and then expel them from their mouths. No one knows exactly how this is accomplished, but some theorize that dragons, as mystical creatures, have so powerful chakra that their abilities because as strong as natural elements. Others simply think that dragons produce these elements through a combination of natural components and internal bodily processes.
Dragons are able to produce "breath weapons" in a variety of elements; fire, water, wind, earth, lightning and sound can all be produced by different dragons. It was speculated that a certain color of dragon produces a certain element, such as red and gold dragons producing fire, although it has been witnessed that gold dragons can also use lightning. As individual elements, they all produce certain things; fire can cause powerful burns, water and wind create powerful physical trauma and can also be mixed with another element to further increase effectiveness, lightning creates numbing, shocking pains, mud can create hardened walls or slippery terrain, while sound can disorient opponents through their natural sense.
The strength of a breath weapon varied on rank of the dragon using it; from D rank, all weapons are on a cone shape, and at their peak are four feet wide and five feet long. Width increases by 4 feet with each rank of the summon, while length increases by 5 feet. At the strongest, S rank, a breath weapon reaches at a total size od 20 feet wide and 25 feet long. Each element also has a certain property and damage, where the strength of the breath weapon is determined by the rank of the summon. A breath weapon can only be used once per thread per dragon.

- Fire: creates a large torrent of flames that can cause serious burns to an opponent.
- Water: Creates a burst of water than causes concussive damage. Also increases the strength of any Lightning attacks on a wet opponent by a 'C' rank.
- Wind: Creates a blast of wind that causes concussive damage. If a Fire release or breath weapon is used in conjunction, the wind element is gone and instead adds the rank of the breath weapon as extra damage and size to the fire attack.
- Mud: A dragon can use mud for three effects; to block a single attack of the same rank as the dragon, to create slippery terrain, or to encase an opponent in hardened mud to limit movement by half for one post. Anything covered in mud is also immune to lightning attacks of equal rank to the dragon.
- Lightning: Created a blast of lightning that shocks opponents and can cause paralysis for half a turn.
- Sound: creates a blast of sound that causes no damage, but causes everyone within the blast to become disorientated and un-balanced for two turns. The effect also causes dizziness, impaired vision and vomitting for the duration.
