The blades of vengeances have fallen swiftly. The shinobi are no more as 'Absolute Justice' has returned...now, it is the Samurai that rule the Five Major Nations!
But at what cost? Have they become the very thing that they despised the most...? Heroes and villains seem to change roles every day, but one thing is for certain - we yearn for our freedom, for days gone by where we flew the skies unhindered.
Rank: C Type: Primary / Sword / Melee Description: Commonly refereed to as a 'Samurai sword', the katana is characterized by its distinctive appearance: a curved, slender, single edged blade up to three feet in length, circular or squared guard, and long grip to accommodate two hands. As such, it has become renowned for its sharpness and cutting ability. Cost: 5,000 Ryo
Cunnimg Mind Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Passive Handseals: -- Chakra Consumption: Mid per use
This technique allows a kendo master to purge all of their experience into a surreal body movement. This movement allows them to analyze their opponents completely within the users range by studying others and the user tensing their bodies for sudden movements.
Notes: This is fully dependent on role-play movement but just gives the ability to perceive attacks, but not predict. Simply put, this is nothing more than a greater clarity during battle than most shinobi; it will simply offer the user a marginal edge, dependent on the execution of the role-play in question.
Pawn wishing to shuffle Rank: D Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Supplementary Handseals: -- Chakra Consumption: Low
This technique is a feint or "pawn" maneuver. By faking to give away a vital area the user of this technique can counterattack just as a strike is being given. But the counterattack is intended to blind or disable the opponent using sweeping slashes with the tip of a slim weapon.
Note: This is a two-part technique. The user will simply strike (the feint), and then when the opponent responds reverse their strike to deliver the true blow.
Disabling Prod Rank: B Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Offensive Handseals: -- Chakra Consumption: 2x Mid
Another deadly technique, by striking a joint or structural point around their opponents body. A kendo user can cause catastrophic damage to a singular point disabling a arm or leg until medical attention is given to the opponent.
Note: This also totally dependent on roleplay ability to accurately tell what has been hit and why it was important enough to disable. However, one struck, the appendage in question will be unusable for the remainder of the thread.
High-Velocity Defense Rank: B. Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Defensive. Handseals: -- Chakra Consumption: Mid for each attack countered
Being outnumbered or out-forced tends to do something to a persons perception, such as allowing them to deflect and counter techniques at a speed usually unseen in fighting styles. Thanks to Gentleman's Art focusing on counters, however, this incredible level of focus and precision when deflecting techniques becomes entirely possible. Blocking numerous defenders at once, swaying away multiple moves and delivering crushing counters to those that approach, and any projectile thrown at them, a real pinnacle of defensive maneuvers.
Note: This technique will be widely considered a multi-strike counter. While it can be used outside of this purpose, its main priority is the defensive against techniques that allow an opponent to strike multiple times in a single instant.
Rank: S Range: Close (0m ~ 5m) Type: Defensive Handseals: -- Chakra Consumption: Massive
The most dangerous technique within the kendo practitioners arsenal. By using their keen instincts and fluid movements a practitioner can counter an attack with their own fierce assault. The counter attack is a slashing strike with the tip of their rapier or sword coated in destructive chakra aimed to cut an opponent in a singular swipe.
Note: This ability can only be used during, or after, Cunning Mind has been used. It should be noted that the compressed chakra at the tip of their blade is so strong that it can pierce any form of traditional armor or weaponry, and all barriers of b-rank and bellow.
NOTABLE FEATURES:Samurai Seal on chest ; Scarred body ; Eyepatch on right eye
Akegarasu, the Black Edge, is by no means a soft or gentle man to look at. His body appears as if a demented woodcutter had taken a blunted axe to a log in an attempt to make a man. Years of combat have scarred skin paled by years underneath the snowy skies of Tetsu no Kuni, and they seem to shift as if an ever changing map that details a grotesquely violent history. Black hair, greasy and unkempt, smoothly falls from his head to his shoulders, covering chewed ears and leaving a pair of brown eyes unobscured for the world to see. It is these same eyes, sat in the face of a man that appears incredibly dangerous, that has left an imprint on so many people. They tell the story of a starving wolf, constantly searching for its next meal--a meal of human flesh and bone.
Those who judge a book by its cover would be correct in assuming that Akegarasu is as dangerous as he looks. Fighting is ingrained in his DNA; violence courses through his blood; and the need to kill motivates his every action. As a Samurai he was once considered a loose cannon, but now that he works for the Shogun himself, his instincts have been tragically focused. Enemies of Tetsu no Kuni are relentlessly hunted and forced to suffer from Akegarasu’s absent mercy--something that has left a mountain of bodies on more occasions than one. Drunk on the knowledge that he is strong, he constantly seeks out his next target. But there is more to the Black Edge then this shallow analysis--but to those he surrounds himself with, these things will never be known.
