TWELVE PUPPETEERS OF THE RED SAND
Part I: Morning Haze

Mission Information: A series of assaults have occured within the outlying villages of Kaze no Kuni. Reports from ANBU scouts state that whole villages have been leveled, without any survivors. After thorough investigation and forensics, ANBU investigators have projected three possible locations where they believe the force responsible for the attacks will strike next. Two squads of ANBU members have been dispatched to survey two of the villages suspected to be attacked. Because of Sunagakure's low reserves of high-level ninja, the Kazekage has asked any who are willing and able to investigate the third village, and defend it should a combat situation arise. The opponents are of an unknown strength level, but are suspected to be of at least Chuunin level strength, given the remains of the previous assaults.

Part II: Afternoon Delight

Mission Information: Following the defense of the village from those who have assaulted it, you have learned the name of an organization whose history reaches back to the first shinobi war, as well as their next target. The Twelve puppeteers were once a group of shinobi that claimed allegiance to Sunagakure; however in years past, they had left, seeing corruption within their village. Now, after decades, what appears to be a new group of puppeteers have claimed the mantle of their forebearers. While the efforts to defend the village were valiant and noble, they were for naught, as the attack hit all three villages. The ANBU that had been dispatched to aid the first two have been reported as missing in action. There have been no reports of the outcome of the targetted villages, but it is assumed they've been destroyed, as the last ones had been. Furthermore, an important supply village, Mura no Izanagi, has been confirmed as the next target of the enemy. Knowing now what threat Sunagakure faces, the Kazekage urges any who can to join the fight to do so. Given the result of the battle, those responsible are believed to be considered of at least Jounin strength level, and should be approached with extreme caution.
