The clone had been hit, and for the briefest moment, Max had witnessed it turn to boiling water and steam. He felt the heat almost hit him, but he had moved just far enough, over five meters, from the explosion to not be hit directly. He still felt his exposed arms burn a little - not yet first-degree - but definitely enough to make them feel like they were near intense heat.

With one down, Max was able to fire off his two remaining lasers at the real Jin. That failed though, as one hell of a blast occurred right as he was firing. The lasers were sent off harmlessly in the wrong directions, one up in the sky, and the other careening, its aim altered to hit Jin's feet. Max, though a bit dazed, had enough sense to roll into his fall as he was pushed back to the ground, scratching and irritating his arms from the grass as well as a bruising a few parts of his arms.

"So close..." Max spat on the ground and quickly jumped up to his feet; the blast plus rolling into his fall had pushed him back eight meters from Jin. Crouching, tensed, the blonde quickly did two handseals, and from his hands erupted a ball of storm energy. Maintaining a handseal, the man kept his eyes on Jin, and the ball rushed out from his hands. While maintaining visual contact and the seal, the ball would follow after Jin.

It sped after him, eight meters per second, and would reach Jin in just one. If he dodged, Max would maintain the handseal and keep his eyes on Jin. Any dodges would cause the orb to change direction to accommodate, whether it be a small or a harsh change.

Upon physical contact, the user transfers the liquid onto the target in a split second, soaking and shocking an area of the target's body equal to the area of the user's appendage that was covered by the ability before.

Description: Forming the necessary hand seals and utilizing their unique Kekkai Genkai the user fires a wave of electrically-charged water in front of him or her, pushed forward by powerful winds. The wave will fire out in a cone, reaching its full size after moving 1 meter ahead. The wave moves swiftly out, and will splash onto the first target in the way, while the remaining part of the wave that had no made contact would keep moving forward. Those hit by the wave will be drenched, then painfully shocked along the areas hit.

Special: Max radius depends on the user's highest 'Storm Channeling' rank. The mist may not move, and stays oriented to the origin. Clan member must stay within the mist and pay an additional low chakra amount per turn to maintain. Upon leaving the range or dropping the maintenance, the mist will stay up for one more turn after the turn it was dropped before disappearing. Chakra-infused projectiles will not have their trajectories skewed by the winds. Will be pierced by Doujutsu, and other individuals may see at most three meters in front of them. Fuuton techniques of a higher rank will disperse the mist.
Description: Forming the necessary hand seals and utilizing their unique Kekkai Genkai the user summons an electrically-charged, swirling mist in the area around. Occasional sparks of Ranton will light small areas of the mist. Those caught in these areas will have their silhouette visible by everyone in and out of the mist for a brief second. The humid mist will perpetually spin, creating gusts of wind strong enough to skew the trajectories of projectiles thrown inside it. A constant drain is needed after activation, but no handseal is required to be held to maintain it after activation. All other individuals caught in the mist will have their whole body statically charged. Anything they come in contact with will painfully shock them.

Tenpesutotorappu [Tempest Trap]

Description: Forming the necessary hand seals and utilizing their unique Kekkai Genkai the user first hits the target or targets from all directions around them with fierce, powerful winds, meant to keep them stuck in one position, and pushing them to their knees. Immediiately after, the winds become replaced with a rush of water from all sides, pounding into the target or targets with great pressure, until a prison of water was all around, still being pushed from all sides by volatile winds. Finally, when the water is all packed together, a powerful bolt of lightning strikes the water prison from above, lethally shocking all those caught inside it.

He dodged, but very well, at least only minimal damage was sustained. Maximilian licked at the cuts his teeth created on the inside of his mouth, and as Jin ran to his position, Max quickly activated his Doujutsu¹ while turning to face the opponent. He didn't trust the distance one bit. Like last time, the distance could be closed in too quickly. Max took a swift step back, and upon feeling a sudden increase in temperature - not too much, but enough to notice - the blonde took one more.

"Fuck that." Max's hands quickly moved together, and formed the special two handseals for his next ability while he swiftly moved back from Jin as the man charged in. Had Max not moved back, it would have taken a second for the gap to be closed, but by the time Jin moved four meters forward, Max had completed the handseals and moved three meters away from Jin's location at the time.

Just under one meter in front of Jin, and slightly over two meters in front of Max, a swirling, solid wall² of elements materialized. The wall would be solid enough to stop the man's charge into battle, his speed carrying him into the wall - colliding with the solid wall with the momentum that was on him. The wall stayed intact for the time, six meters high and wide, blocking the path to Max for the time being. Max kept on moving back, increasing his distance from the wall to five meters.

Not losing his ground - before the wall would disappear and Jin regain himself - Max quickly completed four handseals, and awaited for the wall to go down at the fourth handseal, ready to release his next ability.

"Fuck man, you know I love these after-dinner workouts, but why are they always after the biggest damn dinners that we have?" Maximilian groaned, clutching his stomach through his spar outfit - boots, sweatpants, undershirt and sweater. It wasn't so much of a pain for him that he couldn't function, but after bowls of ramen and meat have passed into your stomach, you tend to get pretty damn lazy. The itis, they call it. Grogginess after a nice meal. Bullshit.

Max kept on walking alongside his comrade, Jin. There wasn't much of a history between the two. Max liked the guy. He was easy to get along with, and was definitely the kind of guy that Max would want to relax with. But their current plans were far from relaxing. As they walked, Max twirled a single kunai he usually had attached to his belt in his finger, and they ditched the area behind them for a grassy field, large enough for a small-scale fight - their after-dinner plan.

"You're fucking lucky I like you enough to do this shit," the blonde Genin chided at the friend, an amused grin on his face as he spoke. "Otherwise, I'd be banging babes in dreamland right now." He shook his head, still smiling, as he jumped up and down repetitively, loosening up and getting himself ready for a bit of a friendly competition between two men. They were a good distance from any obstruction; at this point it was fair game.

They were three meters from each other, and Max stopped the jumping before giving his friend a brief look, his eyebrows both raised up in a show of mock disinterest. "You know, you can still give up. The ladies don't call me the 'hotshit hunk' for no reason."

Shunshin no Jutsu is a basic ninjutsu technique used across the shinobi world by all, ranging from the most basic shinobi to the legends of lore. Considered is a high-speed movement technique - to an observer caught in the optical illusion, it appears as if the user has teleported. This allows the user to escape or attack suddenly, should they need to. However, while a high-speed movement, if used in broad daylight, one will still be quite visible and as such, easier to be defended against. In order to achieve maximum effect, the user must to combine it with a distraction.

Note: Despite popular belief, this is not an ability that allows an individual to teleport, or even move incomprehensibly fast. It simply combines high mobility with some disruption of visibility to conceal those movements. That in mind, if you can conceal your movement, it is common for this technique to allow very long-distance dashes before enemies may notice you.

Note: This ability allows the user detonate his or her explosive notes, opposed to allowing them to be "timed" explosives. Without this technique, the user cannot automatically detonate their tags.

It's a simple technique where two shuriken, like the Fūma Shuriken, are piled one onto another and thrown simultaneously. However, depending on the way it's used, it can prove its absolute efficiency. The trick is to somehow draw the enemy's attention towards the upper shuriken. Then, they have to deal with the path of the lower, unnoticed shuriken. However, if the enemy notices both shuriken, the technique ends up losing all of its efficiency.

With this technique a translucent string, both elastic and highly durable, is attached to a shuriken, making it possible to alter its path after having thrown it. An expert will have the ability to freely glide the shuriken in any direction with just a single movement of their fingertip. The first attack, challenging the enemy, is avoided and after a time-lag of several seconds, it will come from behind. Depending on the performance, the possible tactics can be infinite.

Note: By combining this technique with a Chidori enhancement, the user may cause the wire to break the Shuriken apart into multiple sharp slabs that can be directed by the user.

Kuchiyose no Jutsu (Summoning Technique)

A powerful jutsu intended to call forth aid when in dire need, Kuchiyose allows a ninja to summon a a variety of entities and items meant to assist them in a dire situation. From people to animals, to inanimate objects such as weapons and items, these creations come forth out of thin air near-instantly after the seals are done and into the battlefield. Keep in mind each summoning in question requires a previous contract to be filled out. Finally, signing this contract also allows said summoning to be able to reverse summon the human ninja to their own location.

Note: All summons have their own chakra cost, which the user will need to meet in order to bring them forth. In terms of inanimate objects, the user can summon up to ten secondary weapons for a Low amount of chakra (per summoning); on the other hand, they may summon up to five primary weapons for a Mid amount of chakra (per summoning).

Soushuuha is a Ninjutsu technique used in order to give aerial projectiles a slight edge in combat. With this, the user can grant themselves near invisibility, which can be sustained even when motion or minimal contact occurs. Only chakra sensing methods have been shown to pierce the veil of chakra and see the hidden ninja.

Shokkusuramu is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After forming the necessary handseals, the user fires a wave of energy in front of them. The wave moves swiftly, and looks much like a wave one would find in the ocean. Anyone unfortunate enough to be caught within its range will suffer electrical damage until it has passed over them; in this way, the wave is capable of hitting multiple targets until it reaches its maximum range and dissipates. If the opponent does not have strong footing when it washes over them they may also be knocked back as well.

Note: The wave is 3 meters wide and 2 meters high. It crests (starts to fall forward) when it reaches 5 meters away from the user, and by the time it is 10 meters away it will completely dissipate.

Sutomuboruto is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After performing a series of handseals, the user manifests what appears to be a lightning bolt in their hand; it is made out of energy instead of lightning itself. The user can throw this bolt at a target, and when it makes contact with a solid object it will explode, electrocuting whatever it touches. The benefit to this storm bolt is that when it leaves the user's hand, it accelerates to a much faster pace, allowing it to go further as well.

Note: After throwing the first storm bolt, the user has the option to create a second one for half the handseal count and a Mid worth of chakra. This can only be done one time per use of the technique at its full cost. This technique was created by Leonov.

Raikoukei is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After performing a series of handseals, the user manifests a 3 meter long whip made of energy. It is capable of doing slicing damage when striking an opponent, but because it is charged, can also electrify them upon contact. The longer the contact of the whip, the more shock the opponent will receive.

Note: Extensive contact is necessary for the whip's electrical abilities to be of any use - simply whipping them will only cause a brief shock. If the user manages to wrap the whip around a limb, upon removal that limb will be paralyzed for one turn in addition to the electrical damage it received.

Tsuppari Kaze Mori (Thrusting Storm Lance)

Tsuppari Kaze Mori is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After performing the required handseals, the user concentrates their chakra into their dominant hand. A 3 meter long, 1 foot wide lance is quickly manifested, made entirely of energy. Its main use is as a close-range weapon that can defend against attacks, slash, and stab. However, the user can also throw the lance at their opponent; if it strikes its target and lodges into their body it will deliver continuous surges of electricity until it is removed. Unfortunately for them, grabbing onto the lance to tug it out will result in a shock to their hands as well.

Note: If the lance is thrown, the user has the option to continue feeding it chakra at a distance to keep it from disappearing while they retrieve it. However, if they stop the chakra flow a new one must be made.

Ame Kabe (Storm Wall)

Ame Kabe is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After performing the necessary handseals, the user creates a wall made of highly-charged energy. Not only is it capable of defending against incoming attacks, but if the opponent is unlucky enough to come into direct contact with it, they will be electrocuted.

Note: The wall's dimensions make it only slightly larger than the user, so it is not ideal for protecting more than one person at a time. This technique defends against a single attack of equal or lower rank before dissipating.

Reizaa Saakasu (Laser Circus)

Reizaa Saakasu is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After performing a set of handseals, a halo of bright energy spreads around the user's hands, encircling them. From this several beams are created to shoot at the enemy, capable of doing massive shock damage should they connect. The user is able to alter the path the beams are moving in after they are shot, making it possible to strike multiple enemies and even bypass friends on the battlefield.

Note: At minimum the user can launch 3 beams; at maximum, 10. While the beams can be manipulated, they can only move in one direction - they are incapable of doubling-back to move the way they came.

Sansutomu (Three Storms)

Sansutomu is a Ninjutsu technique which utilizes the Storm Element. After performing a long series of handseals, the user directs a large chunk of their chakra into the sky above, causing the air pressure to change. Many cumulonimbus clouds form and compact together, turning from their normal shade of fluffy white to an ominous black. Soon heavy rain begins to pour, thunder rumbles, and lightning strikes the ground at increasingly short intervals. Not only does this make fighting treacherous because of decreased visibility, but each lightning strike also packs devastating damaging powers as well.

Note: The thunderstorm will last until it has worn itself out (10 turns), not requiring the user to give up any more chakra to keep it active. However, if the user wishes they can sacrifice a High amount of chakra to take control of a lightning strike, directing it down at an opponent rather than its normal random strike placement.

Masteries

Tier One - the Liquid Pathways: Like the rolling rivers and coursing streams, Suiton specialists have been known for how quickly they can forge their handseals. Suiton users of this level have learned to decrease the handseals account of all suiton-based jutsu by a total count of 2.

Suiun Suishi no Jutsu (Water Transport Dispatch Formation Technique)

Homatsu no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique utilizing the Water Element. After performing the necessary handseals, the user will blow a dozen bubbles (which are no larger than their palm). These bubbles can move to surround their target. Even the slightest amount of physical contact with an object is required to make these bubbles burst, resulting in a small but powerful explosion (comparable to an explosive note) when they do. Likewise, the user can make them detonate on command with a snap of their fingers.

Note: Water is not necessary beforehand to perform this technique.

Mizu Bunshin no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to create a Bunshin clone. Unlike a normal Bunshin, the Mizu Bunshin has the ability to interact more with the environment due to it having physical substance. This allows the clone to carry out limited attacks on its target. The range of the clone is limited however, it cannot travel very far from the original body. If the Mizu Bunshin is injured, the clone will usually revert back into its natural water state.

Suirou no Jutsu is a Ninjutsu technique that utilizes water to imprison an opponent. The ninja forms the necessary handseals which causes water to form around the target, shaping into a spherical prison which only allows for severely limited movement. The ninja must keep their body touching the water prison to maintain its existence. If the contact is broken, the water falls away and their target is released. When combined with a bunshin technique, the ninja can imprison their target but still alow for a clone to attack others nearby.

Note: This jutsu will be treated as seen in the Kakashi vs. Zabuza fight. Once captured by the water prison, the character inside is almost completely immobilized, making escaping from within the water prison very difficult. Any attacks or actions that require substantial, fluid motions are greatly hindered and all but impossible (things like handseals, stabs, punches). Staying within this prison for a total of ten posts will result in the victim drowning.
