Do something.
Suzumi knew this woman outclassed her by the Mizukage's words. Typically this would warrant her playing defensively until figuring out a weakness. But that was a tactic for the lone fighter. Use your teamwork to defeat her. Should she still sit back and wait for the first move? Or if she waited could the woman use that to her advantage? From the way the Mizukage had stated it, it seemed that Suzumi would rarely be the priority target. She is going to test us. She's gonna make a break for one of the other two. Suzumi unsheathed her rapier, pointing it at Hutora's feet.
Her nerves gripped her more than they ever had before. It stood to reason that she should be the first one to make a move, yet Kendo was about the counter. The thought of accessing the first Celestial Gate was quickly benched. If she revealed her hand too early, Hutora could easily figure out a way to get to their back lines. Suzumi would have to rely on Chae to be the true offensive force while she stalled Hutora. This brought on its own dilemmas, though. Suzumi realized she knew next to nothing about the other two's abilities. If her first assumption was true and Chae began lobbing fireballs, Suzumi would have to take care to dodge both Hutora and Chae. The most important part of the fight was not to figure out Hutora. She had to figure out her team first.
The time to think had come and gone.
It was time for action.
Suzumi could not go all out on her first attack, but she could do her best to bring out as much as she could from Hutora. Using Shunshin, Suzumi appeared just before (1m) Hutora. Moving to the front of a foe instead of the back was an odd thing for her, but she could not let Hutora get between her and the team. Unleashing her Elegant Barrage, Suzumi lunged forward, aiming her first thrust at Hutora's face. In a split second, a second thrust would follow to Hutora's right midsection, anticipating Hutora lifting her arm to defend her face. The attack was practiced, yet was also distracted. The entire time Suzumi sacrificed a great deal of precision to be more aware of her teammates behind her. Whatever they could do, they were about to show it.
