I was approved with S-rank in both Iaijutsu and Battojutsu, which I've been informed isn't allowed. So, I'm removing everything above B-rank in Iaijutsu, and keeping Battojutsu 'S'.Iaijutsu (Art of Mental Presence) [450]
Rank: D, C, B, A, S
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Special: Allows the swordsman to progress through the teachings of Iaijutsu.
Description: A defensive nature of fighting, all Iaijutsu practitioners will tend to stand in closed positions, leaving little openings and making sure to make the least amount of wasted movement possible so as to remain solid like a rock. Once the swordsman has understood the basics of fortification, they move on to more complex defensive patterns.
Domain: Kenjutsu.
Jitentate (Rotating Shield) [450]
Rank: D, C, B, A, S
Type: Defensive / Supplementary / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Chakra: Low - High x2
Special: Up to 15 projectiles can be parried per use, plus 10 more for each rank above D obtained. The user may deflect incoming projectiles of the same rank as the user has obtained.
Description: Commencing from a standing position, the practitioner unsheathes their sword then rotates the hilt of their blade in a spiral motion, the result being a rapid rotation that easily deflects incoming projectiles, either slicing them in half or redirecting their path away from them user. Useful when faced with opponents that prefer to strike from a distance, as long as the user is able to spot the incoming threat in time.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu of the same rank. 'Rasen Karasu-Zuki'.
Shoushitsuten (Vanishing Point) [150]
Rank: A
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Chakra: High x2
Special: Due to the high-speed nature of this technique, this can only be used once per thread, plus one more each time retrained.
Description: One of Kenjutsu's ultimate defensive maneuvers, this technique relies on brute strength and rapid movement to evade an attack, instead of using their sword. Commencing from any position, the practitioner uses his advanced training and experience with defending, dodging, and countering to seemingly avoid a strike at an incredibly fast speed, allowing them to slip up close to the opponent. The speed at which the user moves is staggering and, when coupled against an opponents strike, allows them to get up close, their sword unsheathed and ready to deliver their own blow.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'A'.
Tsukeme (To Aim at a Weak Point) [150]
Rank: A
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Chakra: High x2
Special: Allows the user to slice through an incoming attack that is equal to the rank of this technique. The range of the cutting shockwave is 5 meters, plus 5 more each time the technique is retrained for a maximum of 15 meters.
Description: Commencing from any position, the practitioner holds the blade within the sheath. Once the user has foreseen an incoming assault, they focus their chakra within their arms in order to utilize a great deal of physical strength. When the attack is within the range of their technique, the user will rapidly withdraw the weapon from the sheathe, cutting at the air in the direction of the incoming attack. The sheer force of the attack will send a cutting shockwave the thickness of the sword and attempt to slice apart the attack. Once cut in half, the attack will veer off course and leave the user, who was in the center location of the cut, unscathed. Useful against Ninjutsu, this allows the Iaijutsu practitioner to defend against attacks they usually would not be able to, as the cutting swath the technique extends allows it to slice through fireballs and other such constructs, though clever usage is recommended to avoid being overwhelmed.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'A' Rank.
Total Exp Refunded: 1200 exp[1] Kaimon (Gate of Opening) [50]
Rank: C.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Chakra: Mid to activate and sustain.
Handseals: -
Special: Due to the intense flow of chakra released by opening this gate, the user is capable of immediately disrupting any and all genjutsu of d-rank and lower. This gate grants the user increased feats of strength, roughly x2 that of your average shinobi. Because of this increase in strength, a marginal increase in speed is also obtained (due to the muscles being able to generate more power). Upon deactivating this gate, the user will suffer a "fatigue" duration equivalent to the total time the gate's effects were active.
Description: The first stage of the Eight Gates, the Gate of Opening (開門, Kaimon) is located in the brain, and upon activation, releases the brain's restraints, allowing full power usage of the body's muscles. Unlocking this gate allows the user to use extremely strong techniques, such as the Iron Fist's Frontal Lotus.
Domain: Hachimon.
[2] Kyuumon (Gate of Rest) [100]
Rank: B.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Chakra: Mid to activate, x2 Mid to sustain.
Handseals: -
Special: Due to the intense flow of chakra released by opening this gate, the user is capable of immediately disrupting any and all genjutsu of c-rank and lower. This gate grants the user increased feats of strength, roughly x3 that of your average shinobi, and temporarily rejuvenates the body (1 High worth of chakra for the duration this gate is active). Because of this increase in strength, a marginal increase in speed is also obtained (due to the muscles being able to generate even more power). Upon deactivating this gate, the user will suffer a "fatigue" duration equivalent to the total time the gate's effects were active.
Description: Located within the brain, the second stage of the Eight Gates, the Gate of Rest, raises stamina and assists in recovery after being weakened. By further boosting one's inner strength, they subsequently re-energize their body.
Domain: Hachimon - Gate 1.
[3] Seimon (Gate of Life) [100]
Rank: B.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Chakra: High to activate, x2 Mid to sustain.
Handseals: -
Special: Due to the intense flow of chakra released by opening this gate, the user is capable of immediately disrupting any and all genjutsu of c-rank and lower. This gate grants the user increased feats of strength and speed, roughly x4 that of your average shinobi. Upon deactivating this gate, the user will suffer a "fatigue" duration equivalent to the total time the gate's effects were active. During this fatigued period, the player will only be able to use taijutsu-based techniques of a-rank and below.
Description: Located within the spinal cord, the third gate, the Gate of Life, begins to prepare the body for extreme movement and muscle destruction. Enemies without refined dojutsu (any non-Uchiha or Hyuuga) have a very difficult time keeping up with the user's movements, as this gate gives off the appearance of simply vanishing and reappearing on a whim. However, the user's body is left intact for the most part, as this new level brings the user mostly benefits. A notable feature of this gate is that the user's skin suddenly begins to turn red.
Domain: Hachimon - Gate 2.
[4] Shoumon (Gate of Wound) [150]
Rank: A.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Chakra: High to activate, x2 Mid to sustain.
Handseals: -
Special: Due to the intense flow of chakra released by opening this gate, the user is capable of immediately disrupting any and all genjutsu of b-rank and lower. This gate grants the user increased feats of strength and speed, roughly x5 that of your average shinobi. Upon deactivating this gate, the user will suffer a "fatigue" duration equivalent to the total time the gate's effects were active. During this fatigued period, the player will only be able to use taijutsu-based techniques of b-rank and below.
Description: Located within the spinal cord, the fourth gate, the Gate of Wound, further's the body's destructive potential, evident by a more intense shade of red taking the user over, as well as a powerful aura that flows all around them. With this gate in effect, enemies without a refined dojutsu (any non-Uchiha or Hyuuga) have an extremely difficult time comprehending the user's movements; they're barely able to make out a blur. Furthermore, even those possessing the fabled Sharingan and Byakugan now have a high difficulty keeping track of actions executed at such a high speed. At this point, the user's muscles slowly begin to tear from use.
Domain: Hachimon - Gate 3.
[5] Tomon (Gate of Closing) [150]
Rank: A.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Chakra: High to activate, x2 Mid to sustain.
Handseals: -
Special: Due to the intense flow of chakra released by opening this gate, the user is capable of immediately disrupting any and all genjutsu of b-rank and lower. This gate grants the user increased feats of strength and speed, roughly x6 that of your average shinobi. Upon deactivating this gate, the user will suffer a "fatigue" duration equivalent to the total time the gate's effects were active. During this fatigued period, the player will be unable to use any form of taijutsu. Once the fatigued period is finished, they will only be able to use c-ranked taijutsu and below for the remainder of the thread.
Description: Located within the abdomen, the fifth gate, the Gate of Closing, further's the body's destructive potential, evident by a more intense shade of red taking the user over, as well as a powerful aura that flows all around them. Typical shinobi simply cannot comprehend the user's movements past this point, and are often struck before they even realize what has happened. Those possessing the aforementioned dojutsu (Sharingan and Byakugan) can rarely catch a glimpse of the user's movements, though nothing more of a muddled blur and hardly coming in use for anything battle related. The environment itself takes a brutal beating from even the faintest of the user's movements, often causing massive explosions of dust and debris to spew in every which direction. This gate causes severe trauma to the user's body, as both their muscle tissue and skeletal structure are heavily damaged from the strain this gate causes.
Domain: Hachimon - Gate 4.
[6] Keimon (Gate of Joy) [300]
Rank: S.
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Chakra: x2 High to active, High to sustain.
Handseals: -
Special: Due to the intense flow of chakra released by opening this gate, the user is capable of immediately disrupting any and all genjutsu of a-rank and lower. This gate grants the user increased feats of strength and speed, roughly x7 that of your average shinobi. Upon deactivating this gate, the user will suffer a "fatigue" duration equivalent to the total time the gate's effects were active. During this fatigued period, the player will be unable to use any form of taijutsu. Once the fatigued period is finished, they will only be able to use d-ranked taijutsu and below for the remainder of the thread.
Description: Located within the 'stomach', the sixth gate, the Gate of Joy, further's the body's destructive potential, evident by a more intense shade of red taking the user over, as well as a powerful aura that flows all around them, causing any loose and malleable substances such as water to swirl and vortex around the user. At this point, visualizing the user (even with the aid of a dojutsu) is all but impossible while at full speeds. The user, quite literally, seems to simply vanish and appear where they wish. The free flowing chakra and life energy is almost a pleasurable feeling, the being of joyfulness. Unfortunately, the pain and damage caused to the user's body by this gate is quite extensive, nearly double that of the fifth gate.
Domain: Hachimon - Gate 5.
Kaneau (Good Balance) [150]
Rank: C.
Type: Supplementary / Taijutsu
Range: Self.
Chakra: Low.
Special: This technique can only be used once per thread, and once more when it is retrained. Can be retrained 3 times.
Description: Kaneau is a Taijutsu technique that makes it easier for one to shift their own weight in an instant, providing them with good balance when they would land on one foot, no matter what they do or what kind of position they are in. This technique was developed by Taijutsu masters to give them good balance while they did the most ridiculous types of Taijutsu moves that would naturally leave them off balance.
Domain: Universal Taijutsu.
Fuubaku Houjin (Exploding Seal Method Formation) [50]
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary.
Range: -
Handseals: 1.
Chakra: -
Special: This ability allows the user detonate his or her explosive notes, opposed to allowing them to be "timed" explosives. Without this technique, the user cannot automatically detonate their tags.
Description: Fuubaku Houjin is a Ninjutsu technique used by shinobi in conjunction with common explosive devices such as exploding notes. With this, the user can choose when their explosives detonate, opposed to being at the mercy of a countdown.
Domain: Universal Ninjutsu.
Vine (Tsuru) [150]
Rank: A.
Type: Offensive.
Range: 6 meters.
Handseals: No.
Chakra: High to cast.
Special: The full length of the whip is roughly six meters, and is notched with jagged and sharp bone fragments (four inches long) which can lacerate and severe appendages. This technique can be retrained once to add an extra a-rank worth damage. This technique can only be used once per thread.
Description: After accelerating their bone growth, the Kaguya will proceed to pull out their own spinal column to use as a flexible chain staff, regrowing a new spine to replace the removed one. The protrusions on the vertebrae are modified to make them stronger and sharper, thus resulting in a deadly, effective whip.
Domain: Kaguya; Tessenka no Mai.
