He'd clearly over estimated his paper clone's ability due to it having water resistance? Pathetic. Having a resistance to water simply meant that the paper wouldn't get wet; it wouldn't get soggy and dissolve after being submerged. However, it did nothing to resist the incalculable force of a tsunami essentially turning into a waterfall at point black range. His delusion that his clone would be able to simply "jump" out of the tidal wave that had completely swallowed him, inadvertently plucked him from the roof and literally crushed his body beneath the weight, force, and pressure of the water pinning him against the merciless earth beneath, was somethin' you'd read in a child's book. The force tugging and pulling on the clone's body was not its own, and lacking the unnatural strength it would take to fight the savage currents, he would continue to be swept through the village (and slammed against structures with enough force to shatter bones and tear limbs). He was offering these people a genuine chance to become something more than the backwater, shoddy village they'd sunken to. There was once a time when Sunagakure was feared as one of the most capable and powerful villages in the world. And now? From what I've gathered, he was a weak leader; Sunagakure is weak, practically defenseless - it's ripe for the picking." Kouketsu began a slow pace to his left, ending near a rusted wall. "I will be departing immediately to seize control of the village from the next candidate, and begin making preparations for war thereafter." A smirk flashed in the darkness. "Once I've revitalized their army and outfitted them for war, I'll begin bringing this world to its knees. You can either stand by my side, or be crushed beneath me." It was a very broad statement, but she was a smart girl - surely she knew what it was that he wanted. Everything she'd done in her life had been inadvertently leading her to this point.

While it was once a strong, fortified structure used identify possible invasions, it was no nothing more than an decrepit relic of the past. The previous war had left this tower, much like many others scattered through the terrirtory of Mizu no Kuni, utterly useless. Its steel walls were dented and broken, hints of powerful jutsu of various sorts. The wooden pillars that held it tall were weak, cracking and entirely broken in some areas. It was completely unstable. And aside from the obvious defects, nature itself had warped and distorted the iron behemoth. Vegetation had grown wildly, unnaturally so, scaling the fifty or sixty feet of stone, wood and steel almost effortlessly. Wines weaved in and out through the many holes in the walls, much like a serpent suffocating its prey. The tower itself had become a part of the land; it'd be the perfect cover. Kouketsu had appeared a full hour before his honored guest, making sure that the area was fully secured. Though his power was somewhat diminished from the steps he'd taken to escort the Mizukage's drone to Konoha, he was still more than capable of handling any of the highwaymen or thugs that had made the ancient tower their home. Fortunately, it didn't come to that. The most he'd found were a few rodents and pigeons, all of which fled upon sensing the sea of chakra his meager body defined. Naturally, he'd remained in his white-robes and ANBU mask. The area might have sufficed for the moment, but who knew when that would change? Kouketsu stood just beyond the threshold of the tower's foyer, his eyes cutting through the darkness of the forest from behind the feline mask donned on his face. Either hand swayed idly at their respective sides, and his stance was lax; there was no real clear sign of tension in any portion of his figure. Hopefully, he would acquire a new ally - perhaps something more - by the end of this conversation. Either or, he was sure that it would prove most interesting. After all, a demon rarely made a mistake in choosing their company.
