I was a bit anxious to see exactly how the process of using the Li Clan’s signature technique would work. Carefully studying her movements, I observed Miu as I noticed she was readying herself to begin the process. Her posture was very stiff at first, but suddenly once she was mentally prepared, she then loosed her fist and grabbed her items. A paintbrush, ink, and a scroll were all that they needed to use their techniques. It appeared as though she was literally going to draw a picture right on the spot, how odd. I would have thought that they were going to use a jutsu to bring pre-drawn pictures to life; however my initial assumptions were inaccurate. Placing her head down, I still watched from behind as I saw her intensely focusing on her painting.

’I wonder what she was drawing?’

It was probably a bit weird for me to think this, but I was actually wondering if she was going to draw a picture of myself. That would have been so cool to see a painting of myself be birthed to life by her technique. Alas, once Miu was done she yelled out the phrase, “Choju Giga!” and activated her technique. To my surprise, a giant extinct animal was created by her. The tyrannosaurus rex seemed to be quite lively, even though it was hard for me to fathom this concept seeing as though it was just drawn on her measly small scroll. Miu decided to stand next to me as we both watched her child (T-Rex) follow her orders and begin moving the boulders. It seemed as though to Li Clan had great utility for random predicaments like the one that we were in now.

”Nice drawing, Miu! I have never seen the Li clan techniques in person before. It’s truly something else…” I continued to stand in awe of her creation doing all of the physical work for us both. It was a pretty sneaky way to get the mission done, but very resourceful. Thanks to her technique, it also helped me realize that after I had completed a bunch of missions together with my partner, I should probably start training in order to learn some new skills of my own. I did not want to fall too behind and have Miu do all of the work for us, however—she actually seemed quite please with her creation. ”In this rate, we should be done fairly soon.” It was quite obvious that everything was going quite well for us both. Hopefully none of the rocks from the mountain would fall...

'Sorry to keep you waiting!' A young, innocent voiced called out from the streets. It was quite peculiar for me to hear the words of a stranger apologizing to me before we had even met. ’Was this my mission partner?’ I studied her appearance carefully, and watched her bodily language in attempts to read any significant information from her that I could. From what I’ve observed, it appeared to me that she was a simple-down to earth kind of girl. Her denim jeans and pink shirt were very homely, but it almost made me feel guilty for worrying about my image so much. ’Had I really become that shallow?’ Physical beauty was one thing, but If my personality was spoiled rotten, who would ever be attractive to a girl like me? Perhaps being assigned to this kunoichi would actually help me come back down to earth and realize how much more growing and maturing I needed to do.

After having learned her name, I had decided that it was important for us to discuss the mission before taking them on. ”Well, it seems as though our mission is a rather simple one. We have to clear the passageway of boulders that fell. I’m guessing we are supposed to use some sort of force behind our method, but I am sure we’ll have some help from the locals if we need it. We can start by heading up that way past the major venues and head to the blocked off road.” I did not really have anything else to say, I mean, any equipment that we might need such as explosive dynamites would be kept in a shop near the road itself along the mountain. I knew I did not have the proper skills in order to remove the boulders and rocks from the passage way, but perhaps Miu did? It would have been a shame if I broke a nail attempting to clear the road, so instead I thought we could pick up some items along the way.

I could not believe it, that after all of my hard work—I could finally see it all coming into fruition. Though my appearance was not its best right now, I was able to fully see my beautiful smile in the now clean mirrors, and the fully stocked supplied bathroom. All that remained was the finishing touches, which was of course the floor. I poured the Pine-Sol into the mop bucket and began to mix the water and chemicals together. I held the scrubber (it’s a long stick, with a scrubber attacked to it, it is commonly called a ‘mop’ but we call it a scrubber) in my hand and started to scrub the floors. The floors themselves though sticky, were not too difficult to scrub clean because it was not grease or anything like that.

I started from the back of course and worked my way towards the door. It would have been stupid if I had started from any other place because then I would be back-tracking in my own steps, causing the floors to get dirty which would be counter-productive. Whistling my favorite tune, I would happily scrub the floors as it was a pretty easy job, especially being the last of the tasks I needed to complete. Not only was scrubbing the floors very pleasing to me, I loved to squeegee the water into the drains as well. Seeing the floors shiny and brand new was a refreshing sensation that I was starting to become accustomed to. I thought that doing these missions were pretty juvenile; however by some miracle I was actually feeling more experienced and well-rounded as a shinobi. You had to start at the basics if you want to advance in life, and this was exactly what I was doing.

After I had finished mopping up the floor, the bathroom actually looked like it was well maintained by professional janitors...if that even made sense. I had to put away all of the cleaning supplies that I had used back into the supply closet, and turn off the lights and lock the door, but once I was finished with all of that I was to meet with Juanito Carlos and inform him that my task had been completed. He said that he knew that anyone that had worked for so long and hard like I had, especially being female—finished the job successfully. He was proud of my hard work, although he did not directly see it. He said he did not have to, and he trusted it was finished. He signed the papers for my mission to be completed and then told me that he was going to resend the permits needed to open the public bathroom. One thing that I did not understand was why he was in charge of the bathroom when it was public, it was sort of weird. And why did not the government just pay for different janitors to clean it up—it was all so confusing to me.

I could not believe it, I was already almost halfway done with the mission. The hardest part, physically—was unclogging the toilets. Now all I had to do was scrub the outside of the toilet and pour in toilet cleaner in them and let the liquid remain there for an hour. That would clean all of the bacteria in the toilet, and lastly make them smell oh-so clean. I went back over to the cart towards the back of the bathroom, and removed the cleaning supplies needed for this next task. In hand, I had a green scrubber and bleach. I then went over to the toilet and started to spray the toilet seat with the toxic chemical. Though the liquid was surely dangerous enough to damage your skin if it got in contact, I was very careful with its use. I knew how to apply it on the toilet seat at a certain angle so it would not by accident ricochet back at.

After spraying the toilet seat, I then placed the product on the floor and began to scrub the toilet seat. It was a pretty easy job considering that the chemical I had was very potent, the scum and bacteria would be instantly removed with the scrubber. However, the scrubber also became dirty quite fast so I had to think of yet another solution for my mission. Hmm… I then got a small bucket and filled it up with hot, soapy water. I decided to do this because I could then rinse off the scrubber and then dip it in the hot soapy water to keep it somewhat clean. Once the toilet seat was clean, I lifted it up and then cleaned the toilet bowl’s rim. That was always the part that made me want to gag. It was nasty touching that surface, even with a gloved hand. I hated seeing the brown bits underneath the inner parts of the toilet; I just found it all to be repulsive.

I shuddered at the very fabrication of me cleaning the toilet bowl rim. Once I had finished doing that I had put the green scrubber away into the hot soapy water, I got the bottle of toilet bowl cleaner for the next step on my mission. Technically, when you use toilet bowl cleaner directly in the toilet, you were supposed to measure the ounces that you poured into it—however I never did that. I found it easier to just eyeball the amount needed to ensure that the toilet got cleaned and stayed fresh. Squeezing on the toilet bowl cleaner for about three seconds, I would watch the now clear water turn into shades of blue. It was a sight to see considering just a few minutes ago, the toilet was absolutely filthy and now it actually looks somewhat decent. It was only one stall done, but I felt great. I had to do the same for the next six stalls, but I knew it would not be much of a problem since the bulk of the work was already completed.

I waved goodbye to Juanito Carlos, seeing as it was not his job to supervisor my mission. I was all alone on this one, and that was perfectly fine with me. To be honest, I still did not want to do this mission but, it appeared as though I had no choice. Oh well. Gathering my belongings, I firmly gripped the cart with my two hands and wheeled it to the girls’ bathroom. Pushing open the door with the front of the cart, I would walk into the dimly lit room. On second thought, there was no light on at all in that Hell. As I moved further into the bathroom, the door began to whip behind me closed and for a split-moment, I was surrounded by pitch darkness. Extending my arm towards the wall adjacent to me, I would flip the light switch and watch the mysterious black void disappear with a blink of an eye. The room was even more filthy than I had originally suspected, and there was pee and poop and sticky stuff all over the place. It was not clear as to what occurs in this bathroom, but nothing good—that’s for sure.

I sighed as I was quite pleased with the fact that Juanito Carlos allowed for me to borrow his gas mask. Thankfully, I did not smell even a bit of the wretched foul scent that surrounded me; however I was almost afraid to even move around in the room. I was wearing pretty basic clothing just for this mission, cheap training shoes, sweatpants and a big t-shirt. There was no way I would ever be caught wearing my good casual clothing for a dirty atmosphere such as this one. It would not be long before I decided to tackle the stalls first. It would be easier if I started from the back most stall, and worked my way to the front of the bathroom. This way, once I finished cleaning all of the toilets and its surrounding area, I could move on to the sink, and then move on to the entire bathroom floor for a mission completed. By no means would this be a quick fix though. I had to take my which each and every stall—and with my luck, there were seven of them.

A bit disappointed, I placed my hand on the stall door of the last stall and gently pushed it open, wondering what exactly what I was in for. To my surprise, there was poop all over the seat, pee on the floor, and just nasty brown marks everywhere. It looked as if someone had diarrhea and just could not hold it in anymore. Though no one could tell, (besides the fact that I was the only one allowed in the bathroom at this time), I was frowning beneath my gas mask. This was not how I expected to spend my time in this new profession. As a shinobi, I thought I would be able to kick butt and learn new techniques, not complete grotesque chores that a janitor was supposed to complete in the first place. I did not even know where to begin, the toilet was clogged and it was just a hot mess in there. Grabbing the plunger, I began to use all of the force I had to get that nasty brown-filled murky water to go down the drain. Please don’t let the other ones be this bad. Pleaseee!
