Astounding, this woman, for all of her perceptive abilities, failed to see the clear message in my church. As I moved to interject, I raised a hand before clenching my fist, her further comments on my offer bringing a wide-set smile to my usually calm face. For all of her compliments, she dared assume that she had dominion over me? No, that simply wouldn't do. I'd have to remedy that.
''Be careful with your next words, little one. I may allow a spider to spread its web among my branches, but for it to claim control over me is where I draw the line."
Once again, the puffing out of my chest gave away my response, my usually placid eyes staring her straight in the face, the clenched fist beside my head moving to rest on her shoulder, which I made sure to cup gently, a subconscious effort to provide some comfort.
''Maybe you misheard me, child. I will allow you to be a host for my church, a holy gospel that shall overtake the world. Power is something you long for, is it not? A place where you can keep you and your shinobi safe? Well, let me inform you of our situation here."
Turning my back on the woman, I spread my arms and presented the entirety of the area to her. The significance to my form would be obvious, even to somebody as ignorant as her. Yet as I took in the sights and scents of the area, I began to relax, the feeling of control bringing a familiar sense of tranquility to my body. As I took a waft of a nearby rose, I turned to face the woman, a strong stare fixated on her face.
''I brought you this offer because you are one of the few I deem to be worthy, Miss Coco. When you turn down this offer, you turn down the chance to embrace salvation. Your roses, grass and very earth shall turn against you in favor of their true God. My purity is well known, by you and by the others I have blessed with my presence. So you have no excuse for doubting the magnitude of my ability and heritage."
Gripping the rose by its head, I plucked the colored portion off and swirled it about like a glass of wine, my nose taking in wonderful musk yet again. ''What do you gain by taking my offer, you ask?" I spoke in an almost sarcastic tone, the half-smirk I shot towards her displaying the confidence in my assertion.
''You have the man with the purest link to the earth and plants you surround yourself with, alongside that.. with my godly abilities and persuasiveness, we will have many people under our wing. At least, that is how it will seem."
''You seem to forget, Coco. I can be any powerful ally you want, all it takes is a simple 'yes'. Consider this your final offer. If you do not take it, somebody else will. And as you are on your knees, choking on your own blood, you'll wonder why you dared stand against a God."[/blockquote][/font]
