It was as if a veil had been draped over her eyes, for at first, Sakaki could not have claimed to notice the lone figure lounging amongst the grass. For whatever reason, he had escaped her notice, almost as if he hadn't wanted to be found in the first place. Whether or not that was the case was up for speculation, but regardless, it was not something that truly needed to be addressed at the current moment. As she heard the first noise, the small Kumo-nin's attention snapped towards the man, teal locks spiraling through the air in a delicate dance before waterfalling back into place.

"Hmm?" Sakaki's first impression of the male was that of a street-smart, sly type of character. Sure, one's looks didn't necessarily mean anything when it came to personality, but each individual gave off a certain 'aura'. This guy, lazing about, looking rather bored, just seemed like the type of guy who other people looked up to, or the type who knew how to make their way through life without trying too hard. A cloud watcher, for sure!

“I mean umm, heyo? Can I… help you with something?” The girl took several moments, several long moments, to comprehend what the guy was asking of her. Or more along the lines of being surprised that she was being asked questions... about needing something, nonetheless. Though she quickly realized that she may have been tresspassing! Maybe this guy owned this little park, and didn't want people in!

She quickly shook her head, hair spiraling out of control around her form. When she finally settled, and her hair once more hung lifelessly, she seemed to have a worried expression upon her face. She just had that feeling like she'd done something wrong. She didn't want to go to jail, or anything like that! And all for just wandering into a park...

"I'm fine.... Sorry," she mumbled, barely audible over the quiet sounds of nature around them. Clearly a timid, and meek girl. Which might not have been too surprising for how she looked.

The small girl fidgeted as she waited in the lobby of the Raikage's tower. She'd never met the person before, and she knew that they were important... that also meant they were kind of scary. If they didn't approve of her, then one little word, and she'd be gone. Gone where, exactly, she didn't know, but she figured they held that kind of power. She was just a small Genin girl, without a real home, and had somehow managed to become a shinobi... was that the kind of subordinate the Raikage would accept working for Kumogakure?

Her feet kicked in the chair nervously, legs swinging back and forth under her seat. The sound of the back door made her squeak, attention shifting to the attendant who had just revealed herself. The woman sat at the desk, shuffled a stack of papers, and then seemed to realize there was someone else in the room. She looked straight at Sakaki, her eyes seemingly attempting to pierce Sakaki's very soul... or, at the least, it felt like the woman thought of Sakaki as a suspicious person...

"Raikage-sama is not in at the moment, if that's what you're here for," she stated matter-of-factly. Sakaki blinked a few times, one of her signature traits of confusion, and then nodded. She slid off the chair, teal locks tumbling about her frame. She was a tad disappointed, but kind of relieved at the same time. She was curious about the Raikage, but at the same time, she was already scared of him... and she hadn't even met him yet!

Now, without a real aim for the day, Sakaki began to wander the streets. She figured that she would go back to the Raikage's tower later to present herself to the head honcho. After all, she'd been called there in the first place. Thinking about it, the kunoichi reached into her pocket and withdrew the summons. She read it over one more time, noting how rather vague it was. It had just mentioned something about her joining a 'team', or something like that... it was a little too complicated for her to decipher properly.

"Mrah," she muttered to no one in particular. Her little feet brought her to a small park while she was thinking. She hadn't ever seen it before, so she had no clue where she really was. Apparently she hadn't wandered through Kumogakure enough... Regardless, the place was kind of nice. It seemed to be a bit tucked out of the way, hidden by a few of the Kumo buildings. It had a little swing set, even a slide, and a few scattered trees here and there.

'Mmm," Sakaki thought, wondering if the trees were imported from somewhere. They didn't seem like trees native to Kumo... She shrugged it off, deciding to go wandering through. This seemed like a really nice place to go on a picnic, or something like that! She'd have to make sure that she mapped out a route to this place in her head for later use...

The little girl awoke to the rumbling of a storm. The thunder was loud, but there was no lightning as of yet. Raindrops started slowly, but began to pick up in rhythm as the wagon moved further into the country. Yes, this was definitely her home. The thunderstorms, which would scare most children, were actually kind of comforting to the little girl. A smile embraced her face, and she watched the rain falling out of the back of the vehicle.

'Home'.... It was nice to think that she actually had a home, and someplace that would welcome her back. Her relations were starting to grow through being a shinobi. She had friends... she had a home, with lots of adults to look after her, extensions of parents... she even had a 'big sister' now! She felt exceedingly happy... happy to know that things were looking up, even for a little orphan like her.

It was with a major disappointment that Sakaki took the route back home to Kumogakure. She hadn't been able to get the guards to allow her to see the second part of the Chuunin exams. Without much else to really do, she found herself yearning to be back in Kumogakure. At the very least, she'd managed to get in touch with someone from Kumo, and so at least one of the Genin participating knew that she was supporting them from the shadows.... hopefully.

The little girl sat huddled in the back of the wagon, quietly trying to fall asleep to the sounds of the road. It was a little tough to get used to the foreign sounds, so it was going slow, but the small Kumo-nin just used the time to reflect upon her journey. It had been a little hectic, and a little strange, but overall it had been kind of fun. And she had met her 'older sister'! Things had turned out well, in her opinion.

The small Kumo-nin blinked as the lady suddenly bid them farewell, and told them to enjoy their stay. She'd then taken her two lackeys, and skedaddled, leaving Sakaki to tilt her head to the side, curiosity nearly leaking from her ears. Her wondering was cut short, however, as suddenly Kurai began to howl with laughter. The booming, amused sound echoed off the walls and filled the little bath room over tenfold. It was almost enough to hurt Sakaki's ears... almost.

"And we'll go where the chalk-white arrows go. For the children, they mark, and the children, they know." The child's eyelids flapped rapidly, the exceedingly random, and strange, verse playing through her head made no sense at all. The verse was swept aside as well by Kurai, who then praised the little Kumo-nin.

"You really did show that lady didn't you! I'm proud of you!" Sakaki couldn't help but smile, face flushed from being exalted in such a manner. She wasn't quite sure what she did to "show that lady", but apparently she did a good job. It felt really good being appreciated by her older 'sister'. Even more so as she suddenly felt Kurai's arms around her, giving her something she'd never truly felt before.... a hug.

Her entire face went red, and she remained completely silent, as well as still. It was like nothing she'd ever experienced before, not truly knowing what the embrace was about, but just being able to feel the other's emotions. She felt Kurai's excitement spread through her own form like a wildfire, her heart beating so fast that it felt like it was going to explode!

Even after Kurai had let go, Sakaki still felt the overwhelming feeling running through her veins. She looked down at herself, one hand rising to her chest and being placed upon her heart. What exactly was this warm sensation that was there? She wasn't quite sure, but... she knew that it felt really nice. She was happy... as happy as a little kid truly could be.

"I believe the second round of the tournament to be starting soon! Don't forget to come see me! If you're there, I know I'll win!" She barely heard the words over a buzzing that had settled in her ears. Even so, she still didn't have the words to respond to Kurai's request. Though, did she really need them in the first place? She was definitely gonna go... she needed to cheer on her big 'sister'! Little did she know, however, that things didn't always go one's way...

Eyes shifted over to the red-headed girl as she spoke once again. Kurai's 'standing' hadn't revealed anything to the little girl, and she felt oh-so-confused! Eyes closed for but a moment, and fists rose to rub against the sides of her head. Why weren't these things easy to understand?! Things always seemed to be so difficult to read into.

"That girl beside you is your sister? Oi, is what he or she said the truth?" More conversation aimed at Kurai, and still not explaini- wait, what? Sakaki's eyes opened, and she came to realize that the girl's attention was on her! She gave her signature squeak of surprise, the startling shift causing her to jump slightly. She lost her balance for just a moment, wiggling in the water, which, in and of itself, allowed her to not fall over suddenly.

'Little sister?... Kurai called me... little sister, right?' the child thought silently. Remembering to earlier when Kurai had flat out told people that they were siblings made Sakaki blush, a smile working at the corners of her mouth. She felt another wave of happiness wash over her. After all, if Kurai saw Sakaki as his little sister, it meant that he really liked her, right?

"Yes! Kuri's little sister!" she piped up, a small bounce of excitement bringing her shoulders above the water for a split second before disappearing again. What hint could one have detected from the innocent child? As far as she was concerned, she was giving a sincere answer. She couldn't help but release a small giggle, finding it oh-so-wonderful to be someone's little sister!

Just as quickly as the droplets of sadness had formed, Sakaki's negative emotion ebbed away from her. She blinked a few times, the action dislodging the tear drops that had been building up in her eyes. They fell, soon disappearing as heat overwhelmed them, and the pool below consumed them. Now the little kunoichi was once more filled with curiosity. How did one tell the different between a male and a female by them standing up?

The thought had never really crossed Sakaki's mind, but at this point, she realized that men did seem a bit different from women look-wise. Voices, too, took different tones, and generally one could tell the difference in gender that way. But for there to be another way to tell was beyond Sakaki, and she really wanted to know! Half of her wanted to straight out ask, though the thought was quickly quelled by her remembering that she wasn't trying to draw attention to herself.

So, yet again, the little girl was forced to remain silent, caught in the strange events. She was really starting to get tired of just sitting around! Frustration, anticipation, and curiosity all welled up within the small girl, causing her to tremble lightly... Not that it was entirely visible due to all the steam, and most of her form hidden by the water.

The young kunoichi could not help but feel very out of place in this situation. All the adults, or adults from her perspective, were talking about all these adult things, and she didn't understand! However, at the same time, she felt like making herself shrink away, not wanting any of this negative attention cast upon her. The soothing power of the water held no power against the dark aspects of the mind when faced with impending danger, frustration, and the overall unknown outcome of this strange occurrence.

Sakaki kind of wanted to run away, although it didn't seem like an option at this point. Even if she made a break for it, she'd wind up having to fight a bunch of old guys, and that didn't seem to be in her favor. Not only that, but the old ladies could see fit to nab her as well, since she was in the company of Kurai, who seemed to be in a heap of major trouble. She wondered what Kurai was thinking, since it was obvious that her companion was trying to get out of the troublesome situation.

"Do you have any idea what it's like to be six feet and the voice of baritone opera singer?!" Kurai's sudden outburst, and blatant denial of being a male cause Sakaki's attention to focus on him once again. The facade may or may not have convinced the intended targets, but Sakaki could see it now! Kurai had just been given unfortunate circumstances! Sakaki felt a twinge of guilt for thinking that Kurai may have been a boy because of his voice.

"Do you think I chose this body! Just because I don't have a huge chest doesn't make me a man; no matter what you think! The display easily persuaded the little Kumo-nin girl, and the more she thought about it, the more it kind of made her want to cry. How could she have been so cruel to make such accusations about Kurai's gender, even if they were only speculations?! She wished to cry out 'I'm sorry I doubted you, Kurai!', but the words wouldn't go. Her eyes tears up, and she began to hiccup quietly, attempting to not fall into the pit of despair.

It was hard, an almost impossible situation, as Kurai faked tears, the bath water running down his face. Sakaki choked down her own tears, very well on the verge of simply bawling her eyes out. Poor, gullible little kid...

Things suddenly got all the more hectic as the staring contest between two cats became a picnic, a sudden swarm of ants bursting onto the scene, interrupting the wasps fighting over who got the last crumb. Sakaki was left describing herself as a spectating beetle, who had simple traversed into the area on a whim. The ants in question caused her to blink, the only real give-away of her surprise.

"Hey bitch, thought you mad a fool of me huh?" The man's words caused Sakaki's mouth and eyes to widen, her entire tensing up. She was a little kid, and as of such, had heard the "forbidden words" uttered before, as well as the fact that you weren't supposed to use them. As of such, the usage of them made this guy a bad man. Or, at the least, that he needed to be punished... maybe by having his mouth washed out with soap. Lucky for Sakaki, there was plenty of soap around to administer the punishment if the time called for it!

"That's the man who tried to pay me for... SEX!" The next line was even more of a shocker than the first. The small girl's jaw would extend as far as it possibly could, horror building in her eyes. It was almost like the girl was shaking as she slowly turned to face Kurai. Just as there were "forbidden words" there were "forbidden topics" too. Sex, to an eight year old, just happened to fall under that category.

Even so, at this point, Sakaki found her lack of available speech to be a hindrance to communicating what she felt. On top of that, she once again found her lack of knowledge impeding her as well, considering she didn't really know what sex was. How was she supposed to feel about it... Hell, why was she even getting mad about it? The questions flitting acorss her mind distracted her from the current situation, and caused a puzzled look to replace the one of shock that had been on her face just moments previous.

"Hm?" The sound of a new voice caused Sakaki to pause in her play, instead coming to rest within the warm waters. Glancing at the woman, she then turned to Kurai, her head shifting back and forth between the two. She was reminded of two felines staring each other down. She then had to wonder why they were doing that. The enitre problem was beyond her, so all that was left was confusion.

A hand rose out of the water, fingertips lightly stroking along the girl's noggin. To be completely, and fairly honest, she didn't quite know what to do about this situation. She didn't have the voice, the words, or even the understanding to speak... And without fully understanding, it wasn't like she could simply act, either. So, against her better judgement, and her childish impatience, she decided to simply wait it out and see what happened.

The simple process that detailed the two changing into nothing, sitting down and washing themselves hardly deserves any true thought or explanation. Kurai's disappointment was lost upon Sakaki, the small girl instead focusing on the task at hand. After all, it wasn't the easiest thing in the world to clean nearly four feet of hair that had been doused in miso soup. It took some tender, loving care to properly cleanse the teal tendrils sprouting from her head.

Eventually the process would be complete, however, and the child would grow bored of washing herself. Quick, careful strokes spread soap across her body, and just as quickly as it began, the shinobi would douse herself with a bucket of water. Then it was time for the really fun part! Kurai had seen fit to already go ahead of her, and now Sakaki dashed off to the hot spring, nabbing a towel on the way in.

"WHEEEE!" she squealed as she ran into the room, jumping into the water without a second thought! She tucked, forming the very unique and small Sakaki ball, her entire being enveloped by water, and splashing it in all directions. However, the resulting wave of water was rather... tiny. In fact, it would only reach Kurai as a small ripple on the other side of the spring.... such a small girl...

In no time at all, the small head of the girl popped out of the water, and she took a really large breath. Innocent giggles erupted from her as she began to paddle around the spring, much like a puppy might have done. Sakaki had only heard of hot springs before, but had never actually been in one. Having such a large area of warm, soothing water was such an incredible, exhilarating feeling...

It didn’t take long for Sakaki to be snapped out of her stupor, or attempt to actually verbally emit her current companion’s proper name, whatever you wished to call it. The booming, masculine voice caught her attention, as did the visage of the man whom said voice belonged to. Orange, deeper than that of the sun, blended, clashed, and mixed with the deepest of blacks, all at the same time. This pattern was familiar to her, as tigers were fairly commonplace amongst the collections of animal books, children’s drawings, and even artwork that one could purchase from a street vendor. This man, shrouded by the furry outfit, was offset by the ordinary stack of papers in his hand, which he was clearly in a hurry to be rid of, attempting to hand them to any passing person who strayed too close.

"Please, young miss, enjoy a bath with your little sister for a very reasonable price!" It made Sakaki’s eyelids flutter like the wings of a hummingbird, but for only as quickly as a lightning bolt’s coming. Then a sweet, innocent giggle would break forth form her chest, welling up inside her throat, before finally embracing the chilling air. To a simple, childish mind such as hers, the animalistic suit was heartwarming and comforting. Something kind that would remind one of relaxing moments, such as soaking in a warm tub, or being nestled upon a mother’s lap.

The small girl would not be given much of a chance to revel in her thoughts, for Kurai kept their pace up, and passed by the man, heading straight into the bath house. The transition of temperature was incredible, as well as the speed at which it rushed upon the pair. As it was, being used to the elements being in such a state, the tiny shinobi did not seem to mind the change in the slightest. No, in fact, the warmth surrounding her body instead sent the girl into a frenzy of happiness, her smile bright, and her steps light.

"Why is it so damned hot in here?" Once more, Sakaki’s gaze would be cast upon Kurai, again admiring the beautiful outer image of the boy. In her mind, the idea of it being so hot was fairly simple, as of the fact these were heated baths. She said nothing, however, if it was even possible that she could voice the reasoning running through her mind. Instead she would simply turn to look at the desk, finding that it was taller than she, completely masking the person on the other side from sight.

Kurai and the receptionist conversed, albeit shortly. In the meantime, Sakaki would attempt to reveal the being whom she could not see. Leaning forward, standing on the very edges of her boots, she strained, stretching her body to poke her eyes above the edge of the desk. Her efforts were in vain, however, the desk proving to be too great an opponent for her lack of height. Her smile and enthusiasm fell aside, replaced by frustration. The little girl came to a rest upon her feet, her cheeks puffing out in a pout, as if she could simply will the desk to become smaller by making it feel bad.

"You gonna be okay by yourself?" Kurai’s voice entered her ears, and caused the small shinobi to completely forget about pouting at the desk. Her head turned to face him, a blank stare exchanging with the odd grin upon his face. Then Sakaki would burst into another wide smile, her head once more rising and falling at a rapid pace in the form of a nod. Of course she would be alright... she was a shinobi after all, which meant she wasn’t completely helpless! It wasn’t like she had never taken a bath before.

“Nu worry!” she chirped brightly, moving towards the woman’s bath. However, she hadn’t really thought about Kurai going into the bath with her, or the fact that he might stay behind. His gender wasn’t even a factor in her mind. As of such, she hadn’t bothered to let go of his hand while trudging on into the changing room. Perhaps it was just absent-mindedness that she hadn’t thought to let go, or the fact that she had just come to expect Kurai to go in as well.

Hunter-nin are combat units. But from what I recall, Trackers were just meant for specifically... tracking. Pretty sure they were based on Karin, being able to follow chakra trails, and mask their own presence, stuff like that...

And I'm pretty sure I got a payraise from being a Tracker-nin before, too. ._.;
