It was all said and done, and that which had seemed inevitable at first had been ultimately avoided. Truth was, as much as he longed engaging into a fight, Nero actually didn’t want to have to face the consequences that potentially came with breaching the Hokage’s orders—especially doing so on enemy grounds. Granted, they outnumbered their trade counterparts, but nevertheless they were still at a disadvantage in terms of surroundings and battle terrain.
The Mist shinobis likely knew their own turf better than anyone else who dared confront them in their own backyard. They would have undoubtedly known where to strike and how to utilize the battle field. Additionally, if it were ever needed, they’d have immediate support from their countrymen, thus eventually outnumbering the small group of leafies that consisted only of a three men squad. Sighing at all the possible battle scenarios that would have taken place, Nero continued to march at the same pace of his comrades. Trailing away from the border of the Water country, they began venturing back home upon succeeding their mission. It was quite interesting—to internally recap what had transpired over just half an hour ago. And ponder on how things could have gone the other way, had it not been for that one simple intervention.
Now that he further thought about, he could do nothing but wonder about what sort of actions his teammate would have taken, had he not been barricaded. Speaking of the devil, internally that was, he suddenly spoke out loud, drawing Nero’s attention away from his inner self as his eyes travelled from the road ahead—only to land on his comrade. “It’s cool.” He said sharply yet with a calm tone to his voice—gradually shifting his eyes towards Kaorin who spoke almost immediately. “Right..” there was a slight sense of doubt in his tone with that last reply. He simply didn’t know what to think of her suggestion. And so, he remained quiet—covertly urging to question AO on his actions. But, figured that it was probably best to just let that thought rest in the back of his mind.¤§¤
With that, they’d reach the exit of the country and near the entrance of Hi no Kuni.
