History: The one who would come to be known as Sekai no Kage was born to Hyuga Beppin and Uchiha Nagato, betwixt an untimely solar eclipse and an equally unusual blood red moon. Only myself and my older brother survived childbirth despite the ten whom followed my advent; though my twin and I were born only moments apart it has always been my firm belief that my rightful position of first-born was usurped in the womb. Though his name has been lost to time, my mother often spoke with pride about the joy and hardship she’d lived with being the great-granddaughter of the first man to unveil the Byakugan to the world. I am descended from Otsutsuki Hamura and, by that token, it was always my fate to etch my own name in blood as I followed my ancestor’s steady march into the chronicles of history. Hagoromo was called the Savior of the World but not all of his brother’s offspring chose to honor Hamura’s pledge to protect the world his brother saved.
The bloodline which created the Byakugan, just like so many other off-shoots of Sage heritage, also spawned some truly horrifying individuals. Those people are who I called clan, family, and brood as my brother and I were raised in a communal environment as a part of the warrior culture initiated by my people. Amongst the barbarians I stood an outcast, though I’d be lying if I stated it was entirely due to my inability to mold chakra. This bitter shame coupled with the thinly veiled, and often unchecked, aggression that was levied in my direction from my contemporaries all the way up to the clan elders. My parents sought to flee our “extended family” in order to preserve the life of their baby but I never understood their reasoning. My existence was a corrupting force to all those I touched, even from a young age, but my parents chose to extend my life to the detriment of all others. [7 yrs old]
My parents spirited my brother and I out of our homeland in the Land of the Moon where Hamura and his lineage settled. And it was not until we reached the Land of the Demon, the area my grandfather had been exiled to decades earlier that they finally felt safe. Not many people occupied the heart of those lands in that era, so we grew isolated from the world. My grandfather was fine with this because other people would have undoubtedly interfered with my early training. He seemed to know about my predicament without it ever being explained to him. It was because of this, that he waited to tell my parents about my training until he had already taken me as far as he could. By that time there was no stopping what was to come; even then my purpose was clear and my entire being pulsated with the sheer weight of my destiny.
I lived the life of a ronin, as my parents set off on the road not long after my grandfather passed under mysterious circumstances. With no more ties to that desolate patch of earth we roamed the lands from one region to the next, intermingling with countless customs and peoples along the way. My parents were attempting to assemble all the mystic herbs, spiritual texts and ritual tomes my grandfather had insisted on for my training. The constant moving from placed to place meant there was no real companionship for my brother and me, as we would often be at odds with each other, so there were no friends to speak of in my childhood. If I allowed myself the luxury of indulging in idle speculation, this is more than likely the period of my life where the seeds of hatred first took root. [10 yrs old]
