He eyed the rooftops, but disregarded the notion almost as soon as he had it. There wasn't a single linear path to the Kage tower save through the streets, and he didn't feel like trying to navigate across precarious buildings with a Genin to look after. Not that his scenario was exactly safe...

"Do you know any techniques that can help? Hozuki are supposed to be skilled with Suiton jutsu..."

I haven't been this excited iin a while. His eyes were alight with energy, and he seemed almost jittery. His fingers danced over his kunai pouch, but he had yet to draw one.

The river itself shoots in a relatively straightly line, moves as fast as the user, and as the user’s rank increases, so does their skill with this technique. Excellent for slowing people down and facilitating escapes, as the mud itself is highly constricting.

He’d known the map led to Mizugakure, but he didn’t expect to find the dead village overrun by undead fiends. There was a literal ocean of them – they covered every inch of ground from the outskirts of the city to its heart. The stench was beyond sickening, and it was all Hiromasa could do not to gag and vomit the little food he’d consumed.

He observed the undead from a relatively safe perch in a particularly sturdy oak overlooking the infested village – the forest behind him was silent, and all he could hear where the low keening moans of the dead. How am I supposed to fight through all of those… things?There was about twenty five meters of zombie-free space between the tree-line and the collapsing gate that lead into the Village, near which he happened to see a familiar flash of blond hair -

I am being shitted…

Blondie!

He fell to the earth, creating an Iwa Bunshin almost absently as he ran across the open ground. She seemed capable of handling one zombie, but the hundreds he saw might be beyond her reach. Probably mine as well…

He outpaced his bunshin, sliding to a stop roughly seven meters behind the lone zombie. Zombie, check. Blondie, check. Sombre atmosphere, dilapidated buildings, check. More zombies shuffling towards us, check. “Yo, blondie. Fancy meeting you here.” His eyes were on the zombie horde, brow furrowed in anger, adrenaline still racing, but his Iwa- Bunshin waved, his mellow expression seemingly out of place in the life or death situation.

"I'm heading to the Kage tower - you might want to follow."

He hadn't expected such treachery, though he should have. How did I not notice the tags? He hadn't seen them, hadn't even suspected; luckily, the only casualty was his Bunshin - the damage he recieved was minimal, more annoying than painful. His shoulder stung from the small slivers of rock wedged in it, and his cheek smarted from a growing bruise - in fact, it felt as if his entire left side was bruised, not to mention his ego.

You piece of shit!

Anger guided him as the eplosion blew him away - he rolled and bounced, once, twice, three times, before he found his footing, hands meeting already as his eyes found his foe. His roll had left him several steps closer to the old man; roughly about seven meters. Chakra surged and transformed, the Suiton nature becoming prevalent. He stomped the ground once, chakra loosing from his foot and into the earth.

Mizu Kamikiri!

He wanted to cut the man in half, but he'd settle for an arm or a leg. However, he'd been lulled into complacency before - he would do no such thing now. Deido Bunshin no Jutsu! Five earthen clones climbed from the earth between the man and himself, equidistant from either of them. They formed a veritable wall between them - without verbal prompting, three of them rushed the old man, and Hiromasa fell into the earth.[/ul][/font]

Description: Mizu Kamikiri is a dangerous ninjutsu technique utilizing Suiton. After forming the necessary handseals, the user will then slam their foot hard onto to the ground, causing water to rise up and travel towards his target as a slicing jet, moving at frightening speeds. This jet cuts through the surface and can pierce through stone, resulting in quick death unless the opponent can predict or foresee the water and move out of the way in time.

Deido Bunshin (Earth-Mud Clone)

Type: Supplementary / Doton Ninjutsu
Range: See special!
Special: Although defeated by a single attack, the clones have the ability to explode their essence in a 5 meter radius, spreading sticky, constricting mud everywhere. Those affected will have their movement inhibited, suffering from reduced speeds and reaction. When re-learned, the user increases the number of clones they can make by 5; this maxes out when the user reaches 50 clones.
Description: A simple elemental clone technique, this let’s the user create a default number of five mud based clones for his command. Coming forth from an earth or mud source, the clones are basic and meant primarily for distraction and restriction. Its mud, sticky and constricting, can slow d own an opponent’s limbs, especially when many pole upon the user at once.

Moguragakure no Jutsu (Mole Hiding Technique)

Type: Supplementary / Doton Ninjutsu
Range: See special!
Special: Range of movement depends on the user’s level of Earth Dominion. All doton jutsu used whilst underground cost one rank less than normal due to the overwhelming earth source. User can remain underground for a single turn before needing to resurface; each time retrained, the user main remain underground for one extra turn.
Description: An upgrade to Dochuu Eigyo, this underground variation grants the user movement AND the ability to attack with jutsu whilst underground. After a few short seals, the user merely sinks below, and can remain there for a small amount of time, allowing them an extremely strategic position, as well as the ability to laid explosives along the ground for the opponent to ‘enjoy’.

He was surprised to find another genin so soon after the other, but he supposed there had been very many selfless sensei's in the former Mizugakure - he thought of his own commander's sacrifice as practical, since there'd been no escape anyone. With the captain's death, he had been given a smokescreen to escape and collect civilians. The catacombs had been unforgiving, but they'd survived.

And I've done especially well, he thought, thinking of the map in his breast pocket.

"That's what a Kage would be expected to do, right? Search for survivors." He laughed, grin becoming rueful. "What do you think I've been doing? This," and his eyes grew hard, the burning flames of anger crackling in their depths, "will never happen again. Not if I have my way..." He trailed off, eyes rising to the sky.

"I'll take to the rooftops, and I'll leave a Bunshin down here to help you." As he intoned his plan, his hands met in a brief dance, chakra rushing into the earth and solidifying it into a solid clone of himself. He crouched low then leaped into the air, taking car to land on the most stable part of the roof, leaving his Iwa Bunshin with Masumi.

"Yo." It said with a wave. "Lead the way blondie."

Only works on attacks B-rank and lower. Suiton is naturally more potent against Katon - to reflect that, this defense can absorb "A" rank Katon jutsu. Because of its nature, when this defense is used against a Suiton attack, the absorbed chakra is able to be used for Kiritemizu without chakra cost to the user. "A" rank and higher Suiton attacks, however, overpower the defense. Cannot defend against solidifed attacks.
Description: The user imbues the sword with chakra equal to that of the attack nearing, and then raises the sword to meet the attack. A hurricane grows from the tip of the sword, enlarging to swallow the attack and save the user from harm. The technique cannot defend against taijutsu, or solidified attacks.

He kicked a rock off the edge of the roof and watched it fall.

He supposed it was nice that some of the village still stood, but he was loathe to be part of the rebuilding force. He'd been scouring the country for shinobi to make a better Mizugakure - he was far more inclined to let this relic wither and die and start anew than plant a new seed in the same old battered earth. And then something caught his eye - a flash of blond, dirtied to brown...

Ah... what have we here?

Hiromasa stepped to the edge of the roof, his shadow falling against the girls face.

"Yo!"

He jumped from the ledge, falling gracefully from the crumbling roof to the earth below, chakra slowing his fall and cushioning his landing. He turned to face the girl in one smooth motion, his hitai-ate the only truly clean part of him. His flak jacket bore oily like stains, and his pants were covered in splatters of mud. His hair was matted and dirtied, full of leaves and bristles.

"Woah, you look like shit." He sized her up with a quick glance. "Kawashima Hiromasa, at your service." The greeting seemed standard, delivered almost absently. "You'd do better leaving this place, kid. It's a shithole, and pretty much everybody is dead."

The queer man interrupted Hiromasa’s orders, drawing a blade from beneath his cloak. There was no mistaking his intent, not in such a stance, and Hiromasa acted accordingly, his plan passed along the mental connection with his clone even as it formed. He and the Iwa Bunshin moved in tandem; he, to sink his hips low to the earth and avoid the blade nearing his head, even as his hands met again in a show of seals, chakra molding into five blistering balls of concussive force – and his clone beside him, utilizing the only element available to it, twisting his fingers as quickly as it could, it’s chakra rushing forth into the earth as unto a river.

Suiton – Teppoudama!

Doton Ryouuken!

Hiromasa spit globes of condensed water at the man just as his clone turned the earth beneath his feet into a rushing river of mud, thirty meters wide and long - truly, a behemoth. Hiromasa aimed primarily for his face and torso, hoping to break his ribs and rattle his brain. When the fifth water bullet left his lips, Hiromasa prepared a single handseal and waited, adjusting his body in preparation for movement. His clone, equally smart and infinitely tricky, sunk beneath the earth and moved towards its target, much more excited to be fighting rather than investigating an old map.

Special: Bullets are fired from the mouth, all at once in the form of straight lined stream–like fashion. By default, 5 bullets can be fired at once, plus 5 more each time retrained. Must hold seals while firing. Bullets pierces 'C' ranked barriers and below, and move at the speed of a kunai.
Description: A simple yet effective suiton technique, after forming the necessary hand seals, the user manifests bullet sized water projectiles in their mouth, which can then spit at their opponent at fast speeds for a quick attack. As the user’s knowledge of the this technique increases, so does the amount of bullets they can fire off.
Domain: Suiton.

Now that he'd seen it, he could almost smell the coppery scent in the air.

Hiromasa accepted the yellowed parchment, taking care not to ruin it, all the while doubting the sanity of the queer man. He surveyed it's contents for several long moments, ignoring the dancing idiot entirely, dedicating the context to memory. He carefully folded the paper and tucked it into his breast pocket, then created an Iwa Bunshin from the abundance of rock beneath his feet. Doton natured chakra seeped from his core into the earth, molding it into a perfect doppleganger. He spared the copy a single glance.

"You know what to do."

The Bunshin nodded then jumped off the cliff face while Hiromasa turned his attention to the lunatic. "Yo! OLD TIMER!" Once he had his attention, he'd continue. "Who are you old man?" Hiromasa was very interested in the answer to his question; it showed in his posture, arms folded across his chest, weight inclined forward every so slightly, face set in a mild scowl...

Hiromasa watched the man for several long silent moments as he in turn watched an afternoon's worth of work blow away in the breeze. The kid was the type to laugh at the misfortune of others, but he kept his silence now, not even opting to breathe until the man had entered the home. He was not often the stealthy type, but he prided himself on his versatility.

Very interesting...

He hadn't known that such reconstruction had already begun - here, the scorched earth and razed grounds near the Western Mountains seemed light years away. How long where we in those catacombs? He wasn't sure who the man was who had been raking the grass, but his entire persona screamed 'shinobi!'. There was no hiding such a thing, especially from Hiromasa. The question was, was he hostile? Hiromasa doubted it - hostile shinobi weren't the type to rake yards for civilians.

Might was well introduce myself.. there aren't many of us left, after all.

He left his hidden perch in the forest and ghosted across the ground to the house, his movements as rapid as they were silent. He raked his knuckles against the door three times, and waited, appearing to take great care in adjusting the hitai-ate around his bicep. His blonde hair hung messily, bangs falling in his eyes.

Hiromasa shook his head ruefully as the queer man guffawed, blond locks waving about his face. He was unable to find the humor in his words, and began to seriously doubt the man's sanity. Tolerant amusement degenerated into slightly-tolerant annoyance as the seconds passed, and he began to consider simply leaving the man to his laughter –

Interesting… he has no eyes.

Curiousity peaked, Hiromasa decided to wait out the insanity and reset into a more relaxed posture – which really meant that he was ready to bolt, he simply didn’t appear to be. The laughter stopped and yet Hiromasa felt himself fall deeper into the twilight zone, as the man’s voice grew darker, a touch of malice seeping into his tone.

“Why do I want to become Kage?” The corner of his mouth curved upward into a hint of a smile. “To destroy anything and anyone that threatens my village.
