Makoto had been busy. Too busy moving into her new home - it was a nice little thing. It had taken her twenty years to finally move out. Some other people had moved out sooner... but she wasn't exactly the best person to try and save money. It had taken a while... and a little help from the parents. But irrelevant - she had finally finished unpacking for this small place. It was nice. 

It had taken a while to first actually deliver all of her stuff, and another few days until she had gotten everything to her liking. It was... kinda clean? Either way, Makoto was going to be taking a mission today. She began lacing up her boots- nice and tight like always. Today's attire was jeans, a long sleeved black shirt-  sort of like a thermal vest, and her satchel. Makoto's items all neatly arranged - but her most dangerous weapon was her hands. Her mind. She sighed and rolled her eyes as she began walking through the apartment, flicking off the lights as she made her way outside.

She liked money just as much as the next person, so her next paces would take her to the mission control room - she browsed the missions. 'Same sort of stuff, eh.'  she wanted to do something a little more... hands on today. She picked up one, going through the scroll. Danger as a Shinobi was like to happen - she had been doing these sorts of things for a while.

So.... why wasn't she a Chūnin yet? Truthfully, she did not know. She had been a Genin for roughly seven years and had never been given a proper test or anything. She was getting pretty tired of it, and was considering going to the Raikage with the hopes to do some B-ranked missions. 

She left relatively quickly - whilst still in Kumogakure... it wasn't distinctly inhabited - allowing an ecosystem to survive and thrive hand in hand with humans. It was... sort of endearing. She whistled as she went along, in a relatively good mood - it was hunting time. It took her about half an hour to walk through the mountainous terrain - it could be done far faster.. but it was her preference. The animals weren't going anywhere - so the actual job was to see if the wilderness was 'safe?' that was something that would keep her on guard.

Who knew, maybe she'd even get a pet eagle? "Hm." she looked around her immediate surroundings - she had taken to a forest area. She was now on a steady downward incline - thick forested pine trees rose up high into the skies; where the branches didn't even start appearing on the thick trunks until three quarters of the way up. Rocks... rocks everywhere, and in her hearing - a stream. She would begin to make way towards and downards that area. So - the stream would mean life. Life.... was the animals that she was going to cull.

Makoto's mission was pretty simple. Go around the wilderness - and if there were any dangerous creatures - relocate them. Thankfully, that didn't mean she had to kill anything. Well. She could do that - and quite easily. But that was not on her list of things -to do-. 

She continued her walk through the mountainside - the incline was enough to be noticeable, but she was taking her walk at a slow pace - it was more that she expended energy in being alert to her surroundings. She was walking towards a stream. As it started coming into view - she tried looking above her, aware of any aerial creatures like the mission brief had stated: Eagles? She particularly liked her own eyes. Either way, the sky was a deep blue from the small gaps in the canopy that she could see. A good sign for her. 

Makoto entered the clearing- a bank on either side around two meters, and what seemed like a children's crudely drawn line that seperated the forest and the bank - not necessarily overgrown... but Nature was definitely the predominant owner of this land - feral, and untamed.

Her musings was that if she was to find any beasts - it would be a water source and work her way outwards from there. A fresh stream like this? Probably meant some form of fish... that meant animals. An ecosystem - a chain. A natural order of command. She began looking around for signs - tracks, mostly. Anything of note - she looked down at her boots - getting muddy so much that a few inches began caking around the boot - she stepped off the mud and onto the sandier area. "Ah man. More washing. Great." she spoke as she looked upwards and around for anything of note. 

She was looking through the trees - when something in particular caught her eye. "On the day I take this mission. Fuck." in her distant vision - some very fresh marks were on some wood. Bear claws - or whatever, it was something with some claws, and it seemed to be big - the dark pine's bark looked pale in comparison to the inner side of it - where pieces had been ripped off the tree in trunks. She had to begin remembering some of her tracking classes - they weren't always that specific... She walked up to the tree and took a sniff - the sap had dried, but this was no more than a few hours old. It was either - hope that the bear had moved on, or that there was a cave nearby.

They were on a mountain, and that chance was fucking likely. She began walking - into another mushy step - stepping on it released a sort of gaseous bomb attack to her Nostrils, and they flared as she brought an arm up against her nose.

"FUCK. SAKE."

Makoto's propensity to swear probably came from her apt surroundings - she spoke casually, and yet - freely. It was enjoyable, but this was not one such moment - she had spent a few moments with her right boot - immediately retracted from it's prior position to a tree just opposite the one she had originally found claw marks on. She had been rubbing them on a tree- getting off any excess shit that adorned it. A monumental pain in the ass.

However, it did mean that it was close, or something akin to. She went back to the tree to observe it - and caught the glimpse of some bleached hair. Not hair - fur. Thick fur, bleached by the sunlight. "Ah, man." if she remembered correctly, it was a way of marking territory or something like that. Get your scent over everything. That also meant, that she was in it's territory. She took an additional moment to place her feet on the tree- making sure she was there firmly before the second one came. And then she began making her way up the branches of the tree - going higher until she was able to land herself onto one of the larger branches to support her weight. She was looking. Where exactly would a bear lead?

Well. Anywhere that could give shelter, food and water. With that in mind, she turned her position one-hundred and eighty degrees - looking out from where she had came to see if there were any vague holes in the mountainous terrain that she had passed. There were a number - some of which might simply be the shadows indicating to something, others which would give her a pointer. She would go to those first - and if anything, follow the tracks she had been given.

She descended the tree. She began making her way to these shadowed areas - meaning she also had to cross the stream, but it was fairly shallow and she'd have the opportunity to drive out the stench that had slowly faded from her presence- crunch crunch crunch, and that was the sound of her crossing - alongside the splashes where she moved. Her jeans were also getting wetter, as the water level was getting deeper and she was up to her lower leg now.

Some time later she had inspected a few of the holes - with nothing really all that fruitful. Again, further from her original position in this hefty forest she began looking downhill - for any unusual bumps in the ground. This would require a little more thought.

And so here she was, scouring the earth for anything of use to where this bear might've gone. It was a simple jog through the mountainous terrain - something she had grown used to. Other Shinobi who did not reign from such areas would have a harder time traversing this. Maybe Iwagakure nin would? she thought to herself mindlessly as she jogged through the woods - she could see the birds, the odd deer (but they weren't of any problem - it was the mountain goats you'd not want to fuck around with.)

Makoto spent an hour searching. Nothing. She decided to make way towards the stream she had first encountered the beast - that meant crossing the river again, and only just when her legs were starting to feel a little drier. But she was a Shinobi, and complaining about such a thing was... well. No need to be such a little bitch about it. she thought as she crossed again - and began making her way there. 

When she came upon them she began looking around for any other clues that she might've missed. She decided to stay on the side of the river she had originally been on - rather than abandon her clues for some caves which looked indicative of her target. She began slowly walking around, searching for clues - little marks in the ground. Of course a bear was big; but they were not fresh. There had been multiple steps in the dirt, even passing over into some of the grassy parts where Rock and earth intertwined. 

She began recounting her steps and methodologically removing the hows and the whys - she had to deal with the information she had- she began going diagonally past the tree she had found those clues on, keeping an eye out to her left - and that was it. About ten minutes into that walk; She saw a cave in the distance from where the mountainous terrain curved - like a sort of bowl. I'll keep this place in mind. 

Closing that distance was no problem. And alas! There it was. And while she didn't need to see it - she could smell it. This was the den of the beast. As she closed in on the cave - she noticed a carcass. Again, a few hours old - some sort of smaller fox, or lynx or something was on the carcass - a scavenger.  

I'll deal with that if it becomes a problem. First of all. Huge fuckoff bear that I have no idea as to where it is.

Approaching the cave was enough to make the scavenger turn it's tail - having enough for it's fill was enough to make it run, either it was that or it had a healthy dosage of fear in it's life, and who wouldn't? It was playing a very dangerous game.

Makoto would proceed forwards to the mouth of the cave - obviously she could only see in the place briefly, but it was no place that she wanted to. She backed away from the cave, essentially - playing the waiting game was no problem. So she took some steps back and towards the carcass - whistling loudly. Getting the attention of a problem was the way to go at this time. 

After some time, she noticed some movement in the cave. She was cautious - watching closely. Two cubs were in the cave - but they were far too afraid to come out to the human they saw in their vision; a possible hunter. After some time, their disposition and barking seemed to become more energetic, and soon, they came out from the cave - bountiful. They were.... beautiful little things. "Awwwhuh...." she thought they were cute. She would've pet one of them, except there was a high chance that the parent would very soon be joining them - and so they would.

She heard a growl from outside the cave to her left - her eyes opened. Something that would've made her freeze if not for her need to know the distance between them. How much time she had. "Oh fuck..." she said as she put two and two together - two cubs, one mother - she was in between them. As if on cue, the bear seemed to lose it - running for her  This was going to get ugly real fast. She began back pedalling slowly as she performed hand seals - a platform of earth sprouted from the ground with speed, and would've almost displaced her own position but managed to keep herself grounded- arms flailing outwards as she attempted to keep her balance. 

Below her, she had an angry bear. "Okayyyyy... how do I deal with this?" she spoke - heart beating fast. So many choices.

She spent a few hours trying to decide how to deal with the situation at hand. She had a raging female (probably on her period) mother bear, two adorable little cubs that wouldn't survive without their mother, and a woman on square earth block - a few meters from some trees, the bear's cave nearby (she was still next to the carcass of the deer... or whatever the meat happened to be.) and so she was waiting - she had sat herself down, looking over as the bear clawed at the earthen structure far too high off the ground for her to get to Makoto.

So she waited, still - the bear had stopped it's rampage and seemed to be on patrol mode around it, while still being extremely wary of the Shinobi, sat almost cross legged on the structure. Waiting. The two cubs had disappeared back into the cave.

She had an idea. She didn't want to kill them- she dropped down from the structure, landing with a small thud. The Bear had seen her and started it's attack - until she disappeared. The bear looked dumbfounded as it tried to claw at.... dirt? Mud? What was it? It was nothing, pretty much. 

Makoto could next be seen at the mouth of the cave - waiting for the bear to notice her.. and it did. Knowing it's cubs were in danger, it charged at the woman, who again, disappeared a second time, it turned to the mouth of the cave to see Makoto behind it; performing handsigns. 

She struck at the ground, and on cue, earth began rising as a wall from the mouth of the cave, until it had taken over it completely; leaving a small slit in the top for air. This was her mission done, she would reveal the location of the bear - allow the animal people to simply sedate the bear at another time, and that would be a job done. It was mostly down to stopping the raging bear from hurting anybody else. The bear had been captured.

They had air, so everything would be safe for them - and surely they could go a few hours without food. She began her way back to the village - jogging. She wanted to update the Animal control people as quickly as possible.

Mission accomplished.
