Description: The shiki, or rite, for the Death Gathering God. The seal can be placed on living things only, and is commonly placed somewhere out of sight, like on the forearm or the back. Creating the shiki requires only a bit of the user's chakra, and once it is placed, the user is always passively aware of how much chakra it contains. The seal consists of the black outline of a simple diamond shape on the user's skin. This image is the symbol of the Death Gathering God, which can be used to resonate with the name-sake spirit itself.

  Description: By forming the hand seals, the user uses their symbol as a link through which to summon the Shishugami, the Death Gathering God. This spirit appears, very faintly, as a three-metre tall figure, completely cloaked and concealed in white, with eyes of glowing green. The Shishugami is the spirit responsible for gathering up the lost energy of dead souls. The user bends this spirit to their will through the seal, gathering up the fallen spirits and converting them into pure chakra, sealing them into small black diamond symbols that appear around the original symbol. With a single hand seal, the user can at any time open those seals, flooding their body with the chakra contained within them and using it to power their jutsu.

Everything with these jutsu are neat and tidy, but I am not sure if it will be allowed. Firstly, it is quite similar to this kinjutsu here, and could possibly be more powerful..I also don't really get the connection with the souls part. So, you can gather undead souls to just gain extra reserves of chakra?

Thanks for looking! It is somewhat similar to the Onimusha no Taiyoushin, but I would object to say that it is more powerful in any sense. The Seal of the Black Sun seal has endless storage capacity, and that chakra is drawn directly from one's enemies, hurting them at the same time as empowering you.

This, by contrast, his a limited storage capacity that you are required to pour more and more experience into. It does not harm your opponent in the slightest, and you need to remain still to draw in the energy, in only a limited amount at a time. If its similar to any Kinjutsu, its more similar to a limited and weakened Sage Mode.

As for it being a Spiritual Seal, I chose that because I want to use Spirit Seals, and this seemed plausible to me. I mean, look at Shiki Fuuin; how does a seal summon a God of Death, who lays claim to the chakra of a target and takes it away? As I figure it, souls are energy; control souls, and you have a great source of energy. This seal takes control of a God of Death who gathers souls, allowing you to use his powers for your own good. I think its pretty well in line with Naruto's spiritual sealings, to be honest. ^^

Fair enough, I agree. The technical aspect of this jutsu is fine, however, I am still unsure of the soul/spiritual connection to it by this description. Perhaps edit in something to make or along the lines of spiritual sealing (just a little more detail and story) then you get my approval. ^^

I would like for it to be added to the technique's specialty that the user can only absorb chakra from dead PC's. Just so that someone doesn't get the idea that they can use this to absorb chakra from npc's in missions and events and then unleash it in PC fights.

This doesn't absorb energy from dead PCs. It gathers lost souls from the surrounding environment with the aid of the Shishugami. Taking the chakra of dead PCs would involve a heck of a lot more chakra than this thing, I imagine.

So you just gather the chakra from nature, essentially? I'm not really sure how that's going to work. I like the idea but I'll get into the logistical problems of this Jutsu set when I'm on my lunch break.

As for gathering energy from nature, not really. Spiritual sealing is, as best I see it, seals revolving around the ability to control spiritual power and entities. Souls and spirit beasts. That's how it is described.

There's not a lot on the canon spirits and gods in the series, other than there being a Pure and Impure World, so I made a few creative assumptions. This seal relies on a creature called a Shishugami, a Death Gathering God. It's essentially a spirit that gathers up the souls of dead beings from the Impure World, so that they can be taken to the Pure World. Essentially, its a psychopomp, like Thanatos in Greek Mythology. Almost all mythologies have a spirit that deals with finding dead spirits.

This seal allows the user to control and bind the Death Gathering God for their own purposes, gathering those souls and using them as a source of power, which, in this world, is chakra. Canon shows us that souls are apparently identical to chakra, such as how sealing a Bijuu seals its spirit into you as well, and how Pain's spirit-ripping technique and the Shiki Fuin appears identical to a human-shaped blob of chakra.

I'll show you ominous! Sorry that this took so long, a friend of mine showed up on my lunch break and I spent the half hour with her instead of on my laptop x3.

Okay, now onto the seal itself. In essence, I have no problem with this kind of technique, but there's some logistical stuff that we'll need to work out. First and foremost, this is the kind of technique that's going to need some serious backstory -- like the other seals in the Seal section have a couple of paragraphs of description and whatnot, this technique will probably need it as well.

The next thing that I'm slightly concerned about is the manner in which you perform the technique. Since we haven't flushed out the Shiki Fuuin yet, I can't blame you for making this kind of mistake so I'll just let you know right now. Shiki Fuuin is going to be, essentially, two parts: the first will require a person to make a contract with the Shinigami that details how and when the Shinigami may be used, as well as the cost to the user for such summonings. From there, the Shinigami can use the Shiki Fuuin to seal exp and even a person's life. The user doesn't really do anything beyond summon the Shinigami and follow the contractual obligation for the use of the Shinigami.

I'm going to need this one to work in that same way. I'm also alright with this technique being a personal jutsu, but its the kind of thing that will probably need to be quested for to obtain and not purchased via the exp shop. The reasoning for that should be simple: you're making a contract with a spiritual being to compel it to gather chakra for you and store it in a seal on your body.

Finally, there is the way in which this being gathers and stores chakra in your seal. From the way you've made it sound, you can pretty much compel the Shishugami to give you your chakra diamonds from anywhere and at any time. I don't really think that such should be the case. In my opinion, this should be very similar to how Exar suggested the technique work. Essentially, you need the soul of a recently deceased person to still be in the area because otherwise you could essentially gather and store chakra infinitely and without any sort of limitation on it.

All in all, I really liked the technique and I delayed responding because I wanted to see other people's opinions on it first. Its very well written out and fits the idea of a Spiritual Seal, in my opinion, and just needs a little bit of work to get it to the proper point.
