Panda-Jin; The Panda People
History of the Panda-Jin
Couched in myth and legend, rarely seen and even more rarely understood, the enigmatic Panda-Jin have long been a mystery to the other races of the shinobi nations. The noble history of the Panda-Jin people stretches back thousands of years, well before the empires of man and before even the Great Shinobi Wars.
For several centuries, the panda-Jin maintained a civilisation within Tetsu No Kuni, the Land of Iron. However, the race of humans began to populate, forming villages, nations, continents as they began to span across the world. The Panda-Jin eventually maintained a healthy relationship with the samurai of the Land of Iron, although when wars began to break out through the nation, the Panda-Jin has no choice but to relinquish their lands, to find a new home.
The Panda-Jin began to settle upon a small island off the coast from Tetsu No Kuni, near the land of Lightning. However, the island itself was under invasion from humans from the Land of Lightning for some time, with the Panda-Jin trying hard to fight back. The then sage of the Panda-Jin, Shen-Zin Edgebreaker, shifted their entire empire into a large, drifting island that would circle the world once a year, hidden only by mist. The deal, however, cost him his life.
Panda-Jin are diligent in their traditions; they only use their physical bodies and rudimentary weapons to show their physique; martial arts, or Taijutsu, and swordsmanship with various weapons is what they focus on solely.

Trial of the Shao’Dan
Each Panda-Jin used to belong to a shao'din, which is their word for “clan”, before residing into one clan, or family. Panda-Jin society has changed from its origins. Where once the Panda-Jin were a mighty empire, standing proud beside their allies, now they are a simple people who want only peace and a safe home. Yet the world is a dangerous place, and only through an acceptance of the violence that comes with life can the Panda-Jin continue to prosper. Panda-Jin society is, in many ways, compartmentalized. At their core, the Panda-Jin treasure peace and creativity. Most Panda-Jin are poets and singers, and the craftsmen of their culture are truly revered. The danger of their lives, however, has necessitated the evolution of a class of warriors to defend those ideals — it is these warriors, from the simplest pikeman to the great shodo-pans, who ensure that Panda-Jin culture survives.
It is said, in Panda-Jin, their native language, “Bùguǎn yǒu duōshǎo kē xīngxīng zài tiānkōng zhōng, shǎnyào zuì liàng de”. Roughly translated means “No matter how many stars are in the sky, one shines the brightest”. It often means that there always exists one Panda-Jin who stands out from the rest. Also, it symbolises that there is always one shinobi out of the millions in the world who come to seek the advice and knowledge of the Panda-Jin. However, to seek their power, in actuality their summoning scroll that they have had since after the breaking from the rest of the world, the shinobi must engage in three trials; Trial of the Mind, Trial of the Body, and Trial of the Soul.
The Trial of the Mind pits the shinobi in a battle of mental capacity, to which they are subjected to their own inner torment through ancient means, subjecting them to their own dark thoughts increased in their magnitude. However, should they become vulnerable to their thoughts, they have a high chance to be rendered mentally broken. Should they win over their own dark thoughts, they proceed to the next trial.
The Trial of the Body pits the shinobi against a B rank Panda-Jin in a battle to the death, so to speak. The Panda-Jin has only a Katana, but knows all Kenjutsu techniques up to B rank in either Battojutsu or Iaijutsu, to the GMs discretion. Should the shinobi lose, they will die. Should the shinobi win, the Panda-Jin will “die”, only to be revived. The shinobi can then proceed when they win the trial.
The Trial of the Soul is a combination of the first two trials; placed in a state of meditation, the shinobi must face their darker half. This “Hēi'àn yīmiàn”, or Dark Side, has all the equipment and techniques the shinobi has. If the shinobi loses, he will die, but should he win he is then permitted to taking the Panda-Jin summoning scroll.

Sage of the Panda-Jin
Name: Shen-Long Mythweaver
Gender: Male
Height: 6’2’’
Classification: Sage
Rank: SS
Kind: Grounder
Equipment: Katana, Staff
Description: Shen-Long is considered to be the greatest of all Panda-Jin in the last four centuries. It is unknown how he came to the age of around 150 years, but some expect it is because of his great amount of chakra, lifestyle, and spiritual discipline that he has attained such vitality, and yet despite his ancient age he is still considerably fit, strong and quick, and thrice as deadly. It is said that despite being against the use of the new-world’s shinobi techniques, he is still such a great force to be reckoned with.
Breaker: Increases the strength of the Panda's Taijutsu attacks by ‘SS’ rank.
Shunpo (Flashing Light Steps)
Rank: D
Type: Supplementary / Taijutsu / High-Speed Movement
Range: 0 - 10 meters
Stamina: Low
Special: Shunpo is a high-speed movement in which the user travels in a linear fashion from one point to another. Usually facilitated with some sort of distraction (smoke bomb, explosion, or something of that nature to obscure one's vision), the user of the Shunpo can, in some cases, appear to have simply teleported from one location to another. The user can Shunpo once per thread, plus once more each time retrained. One cannot attack or perform techniques during Shunpo.
Description: Shunpo, a Taijutsu master's response to the Body Flicker Technique, relies solely on the user's ability to harness their inner ki and gain enough stamina to withstand the sudden strain imposed on one's legs. However, once properly trained, the Taijutsu Type will find their legs moving at speeds unknown to common man, to the point most would make the foolish mistake of assuming one is using Shunshin. However, unlike that chakra inspired run, Shunpo is pure stamina and movement skill, allowing for tighter, quicker, and more reactionary movements essential for someone that relies on movement. Although Shunpo itself moves in a single line, its many variations is what makes it so lethal.
Domain: Shunpo - Universal Taijutsu.
Shunpo-Jin (Light Step Advance)
Rank: B
Type: Passive / Taijutsu / High-Speed Movement
Range: Shunpo!
Stamina: --
Special: Gives the user the option to perform a Shunpo that allows the user to curve in the direction of their target. If the target is out of the user's Shunpo range, the user will be drawn as close as possible.
Description: Although Shunpo is normally executed in a linear fashion, with enough training, the Taijutsu Master can learn to read an opponent's movement and Shunpo in a curved way towards their target's last known location. With the angled attack, it increases the user's ability to strike after the Shunpo.
Domain: Shunpo - Universal Taijutsu.
Shunpo-Kyuk (Light Step Shimmer)
Rank: B
Type: Passive / Taijutsu / High-Speed Movement
Range: Shunpo!
Stamina: --
Special: Gives the user the option to perform a Shunpo that allows the user to side-step around at high speeds.
Description: Useful for evading attacks or moving in and confusing an opponent, Kyuk, allows the Taijutsu Master to do whatever they desire with their newfound zigzagging/shimmying/side-stepping powers.
Domain: Shunpo - Universal Taijutsu.
Shunpo-Hawn (Light Step After-Image)
Rank: B
Type: Passive / Taijutsu / High-Speed Movement
Range: Shunpo!
Stamina: --
Special: Allows the user to perform a Shunpo so fast it leaves an After Image behind. One image may be produced per Shunpo, plus one more each time this jutsu is retrained.
Description: Nearing their Shunpo mastery, the user has nearly mastered all the aspects behind the natural high-speed movement. Not only can they now move about freely at such impressive speeds with little restrictions, but they are now able to move so fast that copies of themselves are left behind, perfectly resembling their master for a brief moment in order to provide confusion for the enemy. Only chakra sensing methods will be able to discern the faux presentation, but everything moves so fast the opponent is often left without time to react, turning them quickly into a victim.
Domain: Shunpo - Universal Taijutsu.
Iaijutsu (Art of Mental Presence)
Rank: D, C, B, A, S
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters

This prevents the user from being overwhelmed by potential one-hit knockout techniques.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'B'.

Rank: B-B-B-B
Type: Offensive / Kenjutsu / Iaijutsu

The main function of this attack grants the user the ability to use the blunt end of the hilt while it is still encased, and move it forward to suddenly strike the opponent. Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'B'.
Shoushitsuten (Vanishing Point)

Stamina: Very High
Special: Due to the high-speed nature of this technique, this can only be used once per thread, plus one more each time retrained.
Description: One of Kenjutsu's ultimate defensive maneuvers, this technique relies on brute strength and rapid movement to evade an attack, instead of using their sword. Commencing from any position, the practitioner uses his advanced training and experience with defending, dodging, and countering to seemingly side-step a single Taijutsu-based technique, almost as though he suddenly flickered, then responding with a quick, fluid spin, sending their sword into the body of the opponent. As long as the user is aware of the danger around them, a quick, unexpected counter strike is likely to succeed.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'A'.
Gyakushuu (Almighty Counter)
Rank: A
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Stamina: Very High

Description: Commencing from a standing position, the practitioner holds the blade within the sheath. Once the attack is nanoseconds from making contact, the user quickly draws the sword from their sheath, both hands gripped tightly on the hilt as they defend the attack. The strength embedded in the user's muscles not only halts the attack in it's path, but with one swift motion, the user throws the technique or opponent backwards, successfully countering the attack. This prevents the user from being overwhelmed by potential one-hit knockout techniques.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'A'.
Tsukeme (To Aim at a Weak Point)
Rank: A
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: 0 - 5 meters
Stamina: Very High

Description: Commencing from a standing position, the practitioner holds the blade within the sheath. Once the user has foreseen an incoming assault, they focus their stamina within their arms in order to utilize a great deal of physical strength. When the attack is within the range of their technique, the user will rapidly withdraw the weapon from the sheathe, cutting at the air in the direction of the incoming attack. The sheer force of the attack will send a cutting shockwave the thickness of the sword and attempt to slice apart the attack. Once cut in half, the attack will veer off course and leave the user, who was in the center location of the cut, unscathed.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'A' Rank.
Hitosashi Tenrai (Dance of the Wind)
Rank: S
Type: Defensive / Taijutsu / Kenjutsu
Range: Self
Stamina: Massive per turn.
Special: Can successfully block/defend/parry almost any technique for a single turn, plus one more each time retrained.
Description: Undoubtedly, the ultimate defense maneuver of the Iaijutsu collection. Commencing from any position, the practitioner focuses all of mind and body simultaneously, allowing his stamina to surge through his body. Due to the elite reflexive training of the Kenjutsu style, the user becomes like a moving blur, becoming 'one with the wind' as they evade an incoming attack, either through dodging, blocking, or parrying. However, the user must see what is coming toward them in order to successfully evade it. The immense stamina drain forces the technique to only be capable of being active for a limited amount of time, so the user must use the technique wisely.
Domain: Kenjutsu. Iaijutsu 'S'.
