GIVEN NAME.Riko (理子), which literally means "Jasmine child", was a name her parents picked out long before she was born, since it's a unisex name.
NICKNAMES & ALIASES.Riko goes by just that -- Riko, some of the younger children and teasers call her "Riri" or "Koko", which bothers her greatly.

PERSONALITY.Riko is a very mixed up girl. She’s almost a teenager, yet has to deal with emotions that no child should have to. Before her incident, Riko was many positive things. She was undoubtfully loyal, doing anything for those who were close to her, and would have easily risked her life for someone she loved. She was incredibly protective and paranoid, always watching out for her friends backs even when they probably didn’t need her too. She was hard-working and determined, desperately wanting to impress her parents and the other elders. She was respectful and polite, have been brought up right and always knowing how to act around others. She was warm and friendly, loving to start up a chat with just a stranger on the street and always being there when her friend needed her. She was caring and giving – a little too selfless for most, always wanting other to feel good and never worrying about herself. She was bright and mature, always preventing conflict and taking a leadership over her class. She was however, very perfectionist and slightly snobby, seeing herself as greater than others. She was many things, until the closest people to her life betrayed her. Ever since having to leave her village, she’s doubted everything she knows. Her capability to read others, her intelligence, her love. Lately she’d been rather quiet, cautious, and not nearly as happy and cheerful as before.
BACKGROUND.Riko had a wonderful life! Her parents, both talented shinobi, raised her in a self-respecting environment, and started to train her when she was capable. Her parents taught her to be hard-working and determined, to know that if she tired her hardest she could reach it. Her parents were her heroes, going off into battle and saving lives, doing selfless acts that made others happy. They were her role models, and she grew up wanting to be just like them.
She started the academy as soon as she was old enough, and strived to be the best. Becoming quite competitive and reaching the top of her class. She was however, very supportive of her classmates as well, and became known by her charitable acts of training groups of her peers whenever she had the free time. By the time she could become Genin, she flowed easily into the transition.
She was put into a squad of three, both of her team members being close friends from the Academy. They were great at teamwork, and she spent most of her first year training her knew ability – sensory. She loved being unique and special, loved that she was different and perhaps even stronger. She was fine-tuning it, making sure she would reach perfection, when her parents asked for her help.
They had known about her wonderful new ability, and praised her every day because of it, and one day they came to her telling her they needed her help. She was more than happy to help, especially after they told her it was a super top secret mission that could save many people. So, she was given instructions, a date and time, and waited eagerly for it to come along.
On the day she was going to help, her parents were nowhere to be seen when she woke up. However, she fallowed the instructions, and went to the plaza and cause a distraction, while her parents did the rest. Thus, she strolled to the plaza, climbed atop one of the tallest buildings and begun to show off her showy techniques. After just a few minutes people were gathered round, cheering and smiling and clapping her on. She was more than certain her distraction had worked. Then, out of nowhere, a ear splitting shrill echoed down the street.
Just one block down, came two hooded figures. Both in ANBU armor, one male and one female. The male held a large katana, while the female wielded two dagger – the exact weapons her parents used. However, she assured herself they could not be her parents, for as they ran towards her and her gathering, they slashed and murdered every civilian in site.
Riko stood there as all hell broke loose. Blood, gore – death. It was a massacre, and she couldn’t move to stop it. The couple reached the bottom of the building Riko stood upon, mercilessly killing woman, men – children Riko’s age. It was awful, fearful really, and she was terrified for her life. When things seemed to calm down and there were no more civilians to kill, the woman looked up at Riko, and her hood was blown off.
Gasping, Riko recognized her mother’s tight jaw and dark eyes instantly. Her eyes were intense, serious, and looked like they were coming for her. And as if she could feel her mother’s emotions, she knew what was coming next, the quick flick of her wrist sent an explosive kunai her direction, and Riko had to leap backwards on instinct, but the blow still got to her, severely burning her back. Then, all she could do was sit up, and watch as shinobi jumped from buildings blocks away, and her parents jumped towards them. She didn’t want to think what they would do, and instead just turn and ran, aiming for the gates.
When she got there, there were extra guards, and when she slowly peered over the building she was on top of one caught site of her and immediately barked out orders. She knew they were after her, she had helped cause this, she had helped kill people. Even worse, her own mother tried to kill her. But at that moment she wasn’t thinking about any of that, instead, she took a few steps back, started to run and leapt through the air, using a very handing Taijutsu technique to jump again midair, clearly making it over the gates and flying into the forest.
Luckily, one little girl wasn’t the biggest of the villages problems, for when she stopped after a good ten minutes of running, she found that no one was fallowing her. But that didn’t stop her from continuing to run, and run, and run. Days, nights, weeks – stopping only a few times to tend to her wounds and eat. In four weeks’ time, when it had been a month since she had escaped and successfully hidden herself, she found herself in a vast forest land, filled with waterfalls and sunlight.
ALIGNMENT.Lawful good.
LIKES & DISLIKES.Riko, despite being traumatized, still likes the same things she liked before! She loves to please and impress others, her greatest pleasure coming from other people’s approval and encouragement. She likes to read and write, and actually enjoyed school while she was in it. She enjoys the outdoors and all types of wildlife – flowers, animals, etc. She doesn’t like arrogant or rude people, or villains of any kind. She hates it when people are selfish or disrespectful, and doesn’t like spicy food.
QUIRKS & TENDENCIES.Riko often talks when she’s nervous.
STRENGTHS & WEAKNESSES.Riko doesn’t think she has weaknesses, but she definitely does. She’s very simple-minded, and to her everything is “black and white”. She’s not very comfortable in fighting others, unless they seem evil or bad to her, and she can be too selfless at times. She is however, really driven and determined, a very hardworking girl who gets what she wants with hard work. She’s often very positive and easy to talk to.

PHYSIQUE.HEIGHT & WEIGHT.She's 5'5" and weighs around 100 pounds.
BODY TYPE & DESCRIPTION.Riko is small, due to her young age. She's rather short, has a tiny waist and slight curves. She's slightly tan, and has thin limbs. Her feet and hands too are small.
HAIR.Riko's hair is short, fluffy, and bounces around just like the girl herself. It reaches about her shoulders, and is quite thin and fluffy. She usually clips up her bangs or wears a headband to pull them back, and people often describe it as a caramel color.
FACE.Riko has a round, plump face, still having some of her baby fat. Her cheeks are slightly plump and her features are petite. Her lips and nose are both tiny and cute, and her eyes are large and a brown/hazel color. She has thick dark lashes, and skinny arched eye brows.
APPAREL.Riko, being a teenage girl, is all into fashion. Although she's not the girliest dresser, she likes to wear nice clothes. Her mission outfit is usually something practical but cute, however, since having to run away and go rogue, she's chosen a less flashy attire. x
