Despite his current appearance, Heisui, at birth, took after the rest of his family. Born with bright blonde hair, sparkling blue eyes and a big, dopey smile, he was unmistakeably his father's son. As he grew older, however, his features began to noticeably darken. Years of alcohol abuse and a generally unhealthy lifestyle has caused his face to droop, his eyes to develop bags beneath them and most of all, his hair darkened to a dark, deadpan brown. Alongside this, the usually bright hue of his irises began to dissipate and he was left with what could be described as 'dead sea blue', the glimmers of affection and optimism long gone. The only time that youthful glimmer comes back is when he is around children, the reminder of what he once had allowing him to take solace in nostalgia.[/font]
To match his downtrodden personality and face, Heisui rarely slaps together an outfit more exquisite than his old hitatare and geta, both of which appear worn and dirty. The bright blue tone of the garment has faded with time and use, as has the golden sparrows that adorn the back of the piece. Instead, the majority of the material takes on a gray coloration, while the sparrows on the back are merely pale yellow birds, many of which are half attached or stained.
In terms of accessories, he is never seen without his Kodachi (Su) and his Katana (Se), which hang from his right hip, a trait he inherited from his father. The handles of both have fancy decorations along their hilts, with Su retaining a pattern similar to his hitatare, with golden sparrows that fly towards the end, while Se has dark blue raindrops traveling towards the blade, signifying the rising and falling motions of his techniques. Aside from his weapons, the only other object of sentimental worth is the bracelet his daughter gifted him, which he is seen wearing at all times. The small, silver pendant that hangs beneath his wrist holds a picture of him and his daughter Amatsubu, overlooking a river.

MENTAL EVALUATION, IN-DEPTH.
Vagabond
Born to an illustrious Samurai family, Heisui was raised with balance and discipline as his primary lessons. Taught respect at a young age, he was always complimented on his extremely kind heart and love of life, the characteristic glimmer of optimism in his eyes earning him much praise. Though he was boyishly simple at times, he always possessed a knack for repetitious learning and most of all, combat, the science behind how and why people fought being his specialty. Due to this, even after his downfall, he has retained a great deal of intelligence, especially when it comes to combat and human nature. Despite this, he often comes off as idiotic and downtrodden, the pain of his family's passing weighing heavily on his heart. Many times, despite knowing what to say or how to explain it, he simply cannot, instead breaking down into tears or muttering incoherently.
This quality often earns him the title of a useless drunk, or a directionless idiot, both of which are only partly true. Aside from his negative qualities, Heisui possesses an unbridled love for children and naivety, his fatherly affection often leading him to try and ''teach" people. Though this habit has often lead to him being yelled at by parents or being scolded by teachers, it is one of the only things that keeps him going. This kind aspect of his personality is also the sole reason he hasn't succumb to complete corruption; the taint of alcohol and depression simply not enough to get rid of his natural instincts.
These instincts, as well, are paired with an expert level of combat proficiency, his skill with Kenjutsu, especially, earning him the title ''prodigal son" by his family. At the age of nine, he was so proficient that he could cut both wings of a sparrow mid flight, and still have time to catch the bird. Far from his prime, however, his skills are like a dull blade. Despite being a better sword and hand-to-hand fighter than most people ten years his senior, his ability to cut somebody down has been dulled somewhat. Not through a lack of ability, but because he often times doesn't wish to simply murder for the sake of murder. Because of this, he has never lowered himself to robbery or mugging, instead opting to make his money as a sellsword or a generic worker.
With all of these aspects of his personality put together, Heisui is quite a caring person. Though his sincerity is often hidden under a veil of drunkenness and pious attention to his swords, he remains a soft hearted, loving man beneath it all. One day he hopes to open up a dojo to teach young, parentless children discipline. But until such a time, he will remain a vagabond, a man without a home or worth.
