Literally meaning "Returned", Akuharu's near death due to chakra exhaustion caused him to experience what he believes was an intense hallucination, where he came into contact with a being who used this word in reference to him. He has since seen what appear to be visions of the same man , who stated that Akuharu would never be addressed by him "as if you are a real person". He is not sure what this means, but since the man seemed to use the name as an insult, Akuharu has taken to using it casually in situations where he cannot otherwise reveal his identity. - Kosakana
Literally meaning "Little Fish", it is the name he was first assigned upon beginning his trial to become a member of Kirigakure's ANBU. After completing the trials, he is sometimes still referred to as Kosakana, though it is done with humorous intent. - Naitome
This is Akuharu's registered ANBU codename, how he refers to himself and is referred to as on official missions of Mizu No Kuni. It shares its name with the powerful technique the young Chuunin recently perfected, and also reflects his preference for the use of hypnosis and sleep inducing techniques when dealing with enemies.

In Akuaharu's case, a range of colored gauze serves as the only necessary protection, his mouth obscured by heavy wrap reinforced with soft metals. Simple white rope fastens large black hakama to his waist. He wears a simple style of boot or sandal depending on the day and the terrain he'll most likely encounter, and refuses to wear jewelry of any kind. His large Naginata remains strapped to his back in a specially designed grouping of chain that still lets it tower quite a height over his head, the scythe known as Akashita next to it.
His shinobi hitai-ite is usually worn around his waist as well, or wrapped around one of his arms to give him a clear option in whether or not others are allowed to know his village affiliation. A small scroll is carried, for the moment, in the right back pocket of his hakama, along with rudimentary writing tools scavenged from those who can no longer use them.

ζʹ— Physical; Without his mask, his mouth once drew in your attention. Not because of any seductive quality, but because it was ugly and visceral, a blooming contagion of burns and slashes fighting for supremacy across a permanent frown. His teeth were sharpened and a bit curved, like the incisors of a snake, and his tongue was nearly split in two, and deformities had made their home where there should have been the attractive jawline of one bred for physical superiority. But that is gone now; after requiring a significant amount of healing following his Chuunin Exams, it was brought to his attention that his face could be healed as well, and the powerful medics overseeing his visit to the hospital restored what had been taken from him long ago. His jawline is squared and powerful, his face is kind. Though there is something about his features...that seems to instantly remind others of Kouketsu Uchiha. Some hidden darkness lurking behind his gaze.
The rest of his features are far more restrained, handsome even, and he can project the warm sincerity of a smile even if that emotion does not match his thoughts. His eyes are coal black and lifeless, unless ignited by the fierce red of his kekkei genkai dojutsu; but this is common and unremarkable unless one has never met an Uchiha. An otherwise boyish attractiveness is disrupted by long wild hair, just as black as midnight and possessing the slightest blue sheen, visible by moonlight, and a darker red shine in the light of the sun. His features are small and can give him a calculating heir of hostility, though the emotion couldn't be further away from the truth of his countenance.
His body is lithe and athletic, thin musculature overlaying a frame of continuously honed strength, the body of a man who has worked hard for the entirety of his life. Large hands and feet along with sharpened nails give him a peculiarly sinister edge that is offset by the otherwise average form he once barely held together through the pain. He possesses a series of tattoo's covering his chest and arms, but these are marks of ownership; the tiny rose and cross brand of the Avanc Prison Facilities on his inner forearm, his crew number branded on the back of his neck (339-928L), and a crescent directly over his heart signifying the Six Paths of the Moon own branding Seal.

Despite his harrowing upbringing(and perhaps it is youth that protected him, perhaps a simplicity of emotion or naivete that shields him from the greater horrors and replaces the expected fury with something calm and placating in its stead), Akuharu has no sinister intentions. He's grown accustomed to the idea and practice of killing, but in a desensitized and aloof manner; it is tedious work that can sometimes be profitable. However, the young man does not enjoy pain, and cannot rationalize enjoying inflicting it on others. His primary motivation is the pursuit of knowledge and lore; the secret hidden information of a culture that has thrived on existing in the shadows. He is convinced that the world retains mystery, beautiful and frightful things waiting to be understood that if...if...they could only be seen from the proper perspective...might yield treasures beyond any mortal man's wildest fantasies. Perhaps there is a bit of pirate still in him, after all these years.
He is kind and thoughtful, a young man of few friends but not out of an inability to keep or form them, but as protection for his own sincerity. It has been beaten into him nearly since birth that to assist the weak only makes them weaker, but his personal moral value judgments prevent him from taking pleasure in another's suffering or allowing it to knowingly continue without offering aid. He's possessed of a subtle intelligence that isn't remarkable enough to qualify as genius, but remains more than sufficient to navigate a world of double-meanings and cross-talk. Surprisingly, he's quite honest, preferring others know his genuine intentions, and assuming the same of them.
He speaks rarely, prone to prolonged and contemplative silences where he is more comfortable organizing the nightmarish kaleidoscope of memories and past pains experienced in the service of a madman. His disfigurement is a constant source of private shame; seldom few have ever even seen the scars covering his lower jaw and even fewer know the story behind them. This leads him to a reserved nature and an external locus of identity, basing his opinion of himself off of the opinions of others. But this does not completely strip away his pride.
He is confident in his own savage sense of honor reflected in a mature and tactical commitment to uncovering as much factual information possible about a particular situation before forming or expressing an opinion. His thoughts can be swayed, but the base ability to judge and be judged by others lies squarely within an empirical and cautiously analytic process. Like many Uchiha, he shares some vestige of racial memory which makes collating and absorbing even the most complex information easy when it directly involves his survival, but a life time of servitude has all but rid him of their characteristic arrogance. He is patient and warm, a sharp contrast to the Village once known as the Bloody Mist.
