It only strokes their egos as they are raised to believe that they are better then anything else, and always will be. While this often corrupts a child, its not the case in Shomakuso, she believes that she is greater then the normal Shinobi but not because of what she is but because of what she is capable of doing, she enjoys challenge. Almost as much as she enjoys peace, often called a longer, or a wolf in the midst of sheep. She is known to be extremely aggressive, strong willed, and cruel when she enters the field of a mission. Often disregarding all orders to ensure the enemy suffers as greatly as possible. This is off due to the fact, she is normally timid, shy, and extremely fidget when around people she has known for some time. This is also the case with people of higher ranking, foreign powers, and Leaders. The reason is unknown for this. Another quirk of hers is the enjoyment of reading, she loves it, and often does it to pass the time instead of training or working to improve herself. Known to skip out on classes, training, and meetings to sit in a tree and read by herself. This as you can think gets her in a lot of trouble, she is also known to enjoy eating. Anything she touches, sweets, ramen, rice, anything you can find a restaurant serving she'll eat. While not entirely greedy, she acts closely in tie with her predatory senses, and regards everyone, and everything as a potential target or threat. This makes gaining friends difficult, and keeping them even harder. Known not to keep bonds, she often disregards people by their first name, and commonly calls them by the last. Even throwing titles away, and directly calling them by name unless she has found some kind of trust. While often distant, when she has a common enemy with someone she becomes an ally not to forget. Often willing to take the offensive, and tear apart people attempting to harm a comrade. She also knows the correct meaning of right and wrong, and will stand up for what is right. No matter who or what stands in her path. This giving her a twisted kind of personality, one half a vicious killer, and the other half a shy, kind, and caring individual. They kept their family's dark past as secretive as possible over the years, keeping all details of they are, and what they could do. Even from their own daughter in hopes that she would never want to dabble into their cruel arts. Shomakuso was raised as a normal child, given toys, spoiled till she was old enough to be considered somewhat responsible for herself, and often kept under heavy supervision most of the time. She never knew why, but enjoyed the attention as any child would. Often being called a little Princess, and showed endless affection. Eventually as she reached the age of six, she had found friends inside of the Village whom were going to the academy to become Shinobi one day, and this peaked her interest, and thus began her spiral into what she is today, and all that she would be. Given permission to enter due to her parents finally accepting what she was going to become, and the hopes of the future of their small family at the same time. She entered the academy as usual at age Six, and was quickly singled out as the worst student in the history of the academy. Found to be a nearly useless Shinobi in the normal aspects of Shinobi life, unable to follow orders, unable to learn control, and unable to correctly perform techniques that lost her attention after a short while. This following for the next two years, during her time at the Academy she had only gained one friend, and that happened to be the Teacher, and his Son. Soon the two became a close knit group, and often ended in days walking the forest, and wildlife seeing. This being one of her favorite piece of her childhood, this all ended during one day. While on the usual trip, a small black snake slithered up on the group, and bite down on her leg. Severe pain, and eventual death were all but assured. This didn't happen however, she wasn't even effected, no, it didn't even hurt as much as she thought. She couldn't explain it, no she couldn't understand it till later that night. The secret was spilled by her family after her teacher address them with what happened. From that day on, from that moment on. She understood what she was, why she was like that, and what she could become. This changed her entire life, and pushed her drive forward so that she could continue through the academy. The next day after the incident, her grades rocketed upwards, and continued at the highest marks for the rest of her time there. Completing the final exam in near-record time. She was introduced into the Shinobi World, and allowed to become all that she could become. Simply wandering, doing random missions, and seeking out her past. This is the start of what could become, her story.
