Appearance;as a reverse morticia, even though zinaida is a fair-skinned, fair-haired woman, you can still see the same jester in her eyes and the same devil dancing on her hips. her long, golden hair is a characteristic of her tribe, her cold brown eyes sometimes tricking warmth. classically proud and regal, she wears a crimson gown trimmed in black fur. zinaida prefers not to assimilate with the culture of her husband, and clings to her identity as a zangalskya. she is proud of where she comes from, of the dry, chill air, and the bones of the conifers. the dark, faded ribbon tied in her hair was given to her by her sister before she left home to wed, and it means the world to her. She touches it in the same way her fingers trail two sliver-shaped scars on her forearm left by two shinai - an assassination attempt when she was young and newly wed. otherwise, she is not normally sentimental or attached to anything, besides the eccentric love-hate relationship she shares with her husband.
ASPECT;
cognition;zinaida has a snide, cynical, and morbid sense of humor, which has never failed to leave her. she likes a good laugh - whether it be a cheesy joke, schadenfruede, or down-right mean and insensitive. for the most part, naturally, she is a light-hearted, yet cruel, woman. But, there are a few things that pull at the sinews of her heart and make her somewhat human: her sister-wives, and not so much them as the children they bore her husband. for the most part, she avoids their existence. she isolates herself from them. she will sit on the roof when the sky is clear and close her eyes. she is an escapist.
but still, every reminder of the other, every messenger, every holiday, is a dagger in her gut. she is the first wife and the eldest, and when she dies before all of them she wouldn't mind haunting the second and the third and the forth, and make them suffer for stealing her lover's attention - yes, he is one of the few friends she has in the country, and she is indebted to him, but she wishes for far more. though she is fiercely loyal to her husband, she is equally enraged, and she has contemplated many a potiphar's wife scenario as well as many other petty tantrums.
zinaida has a vivid imagination; it more colorful and complex than any scroll of poetry. she can coldly and intelligently lay down terrific details. in a good mood, she her wit is teasing, in a bad mood, it is biting and spiteful. she has many frustrations, and she lets them eat at her already rotten heart too easily.
when she was young, she had an easy laugh, and a fast and sweet voice. she was more open, friendly, and fast-paced. but with age, and the tumultuous history of her clan, her personality faded from the surface of her eyes, and then, hardened. she has become a bear-trap of a woman even more so after the most recent attack against the hidden sand, and she is particularly bitter, more than ever before, towards her husband for disappearing.
