A Cyclopean Castle
An enormous cyclopean castle stands at the center of Konohagakure, looming warily. Limestone boulders form the outside, rocks placed together roughly, various gaps left in between. The architects wasted no time in cutting the boulders for they are still in their rough, natural form. Still the Hokage’s castle stands sturdily, unwavering, and mightily. An oaken door leads into the tower with a variety of tribal shapes carved into the wood.
Enceinte cover the top of the castle, at five meters wide large enough to allow men to pass one another. The walls allow for enough cover to allow a defendant to fire upon the foes without being needlessly exposed.
At thirty meters high and fifty wide, it casts a shadow upon the streets, blocking the sun’s majestic glory. Several towers stand at the side, circular, pointed roof pointing upward. The central tower stands the highest, the office of the Hokage, shrouded by a lack of light. Windows spread along the walls of the other towers, the glass protected by layers of metal bars.
The courtyard is completely bare of any flora. A flat, rock ground covers an area of twenty square meters. Military training equipment covers the ground, from dummies to archery targets. Not a single peace of decoration lightens the moody courtyard. Rather, it is utterly cold and lacking in anything but the equipment.
A lengthy wall, ten meters high, surrounds the courtyard, finely carved in comparison to the architecture of the tower itself. Thick metal bars form the spiked gate, a lever inside allowing it to open.
Main Hall
Dim candles light the main hall, vision difficult but not impossible. This is where the assistants and notices can be found. Three rock desks stand at the entrance, each filled by a single assistant. Wooden boars on the side carry much necessary information, including missions and daily news.
The main hall leads into a variety of rooms, stairs leading both up and down:. Beneath, the underground extends for three levels.
A single, obsidian throne sits at the far end of the room upon elevated floor.
Hokage’s Chamber
The Hokage’s chamber stands in the highest tower of the castle, a heavy metal door separating the chamber from the rest of the tower. A wooden chair and desk stands near the wall opposite from the door, papers upon it. While a window allows those inside to see the happenings below, the glass has been tainted gray, allowing for little sun to enter. A chandelier hangs from the ceiling, candles casting their dim gleam.
Aboveground Level 1: Shinobi and Guard Quarters 1
A lengthy flight of stairs leads upwards, spiralling and steep. These lead directly into the guard quarters, a large room with a variety of beds and chests to hold equipment.
Underground Level 1: Shinobi and Guard Quarters 2
Initially upon walking down one sees a variety of rooms scarcely furnished, each containing only a single bed and desk for the guards. A large gate blocks the stairs leading down.
Underground Level 2: Vault and Treasury
The second underground level contains the Konohagakure vault and treasury, both together for an easier defense. Upon walking down, one encounters narrow, twisting passages dimly lit by candle light.
Underground Level 3: Dungeons
The moist, dark dungeons spread out beneath the castle, roughly carved underground paths extending even to the courtyard. Ten cells sit eerily beneath, not even blessed by the light of day. At the end of the dungeons is a single room containing a variety of contraptions designed for torture.
