A fierce explosion shook the Hokage’s castle, sending debris flying into the distance, many a bystander crushed under the roughly shaped cyclopean rocks. It was ablaze. Fires roared as their bright beam illuminated the surrounding streets, an intense heat emanating from the center. Then, another explosion roared, this one even mightier, tearing a large chunk from the central gates. What has happened? No one knew.

Then, everything fell silent, all except the fire which continued to burn. In fear, in complete and utter shock, Jiyuu darted towards the castle from which he had currently been accent. Eyes wide, he stared upon the fires, motionless from the sheer intensity of the situation. Again, he had failed. With heavy breaths and a slouched back he stood still, the training of a soldier ineffective at spurring him. He simply did not know what to do at this point. He was a trained man, but something as this he had never seen. Jiyuu received commands during the war, rather than giving any, and therein lied the problem. He believed himself to be unfit to guide the shinobi through this, but that the Shikigami could not reveal for it would simply reveal his failures.

He awaited for the Leaf Shinobi to arrive. Then it will be time to act. And that time must be soon, for figures lurked in the shadows surrounding the area, eager to strike at the castle.

It had been like any other night. Flirting with the undeserving men at the bar, downing a few drinks before hitting the streets to further taint the Hyuuga name, and just letting go of the shinobi lifestyle. The feeling was addictive to the point that every other night seemed to be her haven of escape. Missions? Sure, they existed, and she carried them out with grace.

She wanted more in life however. Something more exciting, fulfilling, and meaningful.

Explosions were good for that, normally. However, as her pale, blank eyes looked to see the Hokage Tower in flames, parts of it falling to pieces, it hardly did the job. Excitement was replaced by fear, worry, and an odd twinge of vengeance.

Hurriedly with Byakugan activated, Kohana rushed through the streets of Konohagakure, taking to the roofs for a quicker time of arrival to the tower. Her eyes picked up a familiar figure. That of muscle and gruff form. That of her Hokage, and her friend. From the rooftops she dropped down and hurried to his side, speechless at first.

Who would...?

"Jiyuu---," she paused feeling almost awkward for a moment. How long had it been since they had seen each other? "Hokage-sama, what's going on?! Do we know who initiated this attack?"

Feelings aside, memories aside, everything aside. This was strictly business. Business between the Hokage, his shinobi, and their village. Whoever did this would pay dearly by her own fist. That she would make sure of.

[That Guy]

The first day off Amon had allowed himself in a long time and of course he had forgotten that he actually didn't have any idea what to do with the time he was given. He elected to walk the streets of Konohagakure, but nothing in the streets offered him much in the way of entertainment. As the night began Amon found his source of entertainment on the walls that surrounded Konohagakure.

On the walls the swordsman happened across a patrol of guards who quickly tried to hide something as he approached. After inquiring what it was they were hiding, he discovered they had been gambling on duty with a cup and dice. The swordsman wasted no time in rolling himself a spliff and joining them in their games for a few laughs and good times.

After an hour of gambling Amon had finally climbed out of the hole he had dug himself and just met the break-even point where he had no longer lost any money to the guards. It was at this time fate chose to interrupt the game with explosions coming from within the village. All of the guards turned their head shocked before explaining to Amon that the explosions sounded like they had come from the Hokage's castle but that they were unable to leave their posts to go help.

Before the guards could request Amon to go investigate on their behalf and help the village, he had already sprinted straight down the wall before leaping to the ground. His feet struck the ground pounding the pavement as he raced through the village towards the explosions. Eventually Amon's path brought him to the scene where he came to a skidding halt that sent a few sparks out from the geta upon his feet scraping along the ground.

A shinobi and the kage had already arrived before him but that was no surprise. He waited silently on them to decide what they would do. After all, Amon was only a guest in the village and this struck him as an emergency matter that the village would have to decide for itself what was best. When the time for action came Amon would be waiting silently, ready to aid in whatever way they need him to.

Jiyuu stood before the flames silently, biting is lower lip. Ablaze the castle stood, the fiery flames casting their bright gleam into the surroundings streets, a sturdy reminder of a misperceived vigilance. Not only have Konohagakure citizen been murdered in the streets, but the emblem of security, the home of the Hokage had been struck by rebels. Whether that was his own failure or part of a delicately contrived plan mattered not, for still Jiyuu saw it as his own failures, and therein lied the origin of the pain he felt.

Guards and shinobi in the tower at the time met a cruel end and Jiyuu must tell their families after the matter had been resolved. His heart was heavy and shoulders slumped, for he must look into the eyes of fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, and children to inform them of the terror that had struck, the loved ones they lost. And that only happened because he did not properly fulfill the duties of the Hokage. Was he truly fit to lead? That question run in the Shikigami’s mind.

Turning to the new arrive, Kohana, Jiyuu smiled faintly, lips scarcely moving for the severe situation loomed over him. Still, he had a comrade to stand at his side in the terror that struck, and with that he felt more comfort. ”Kohana…” he uttered, voice weak and distraught,”We are under attack by rebels.” Jiyuu paused, gray eyes matching her gaze, smile not faded into a frown.

Kohana… he said again, voice now sturdy as Jiyuu regained some confidence,”I ask you to join me in this battle, rooting out the rebels. To join the symphony of blood and steel. They have struck at our home and we cannot forgive that.” he roared, voice gradually growing stronger. ”I cannot assure you that we will survive as I do not know how many enemies we face. But I will do my best to guard you, and any others who join us in this battle.”

Another man arrived, a swordsman. ”You too, join this. We will talk of a reward later.” Jiyuu said to him, voice stern, a tone quite different from when he spoke to Kohana. Moments after their arrival, five figures lurked in the shadows, creeping forwards slowly towards the gates of the Hokage’s castle

Kohana smiled, though only slightly. She could see the pain that was written all over his face. She knew that he would take the responsibility for this, take the blame, and bear it on his shoulders. Hokage was a wonderful title to have in order to show power, skill, and leadership, but also a terrible weight that only bore down on those who bore it.

"Jiyuu..." She would have said more but the arrival of another individual, one that she wasn't quite sure she recognized. Perhaps he wasn't a ninja, but the fact of the matter was that at least he was here to help. Resting a hand on her comrade's shoulder for the briefest of moments, squeezing, before letting her hand drop she stepped forward, towards the blaze.

"We won't die either." Kohana looked back towards Jiyuu and the samurai like man, a smirk on her face. Those once pale, almost regal eyes had hardened into something demonic. Veins had protruded from her temples and pulsed with a fury. "I will keep us alive to the best of my ability."

Her gaze lingered on Jiyuu for a moment before she stared forward towards the castle. The Byakugan took in everything to the finest detail. Five signatures were detected then and she smirked wider. "Found you."

With a speed befitting to that of a taijutsu user, the Hyuuga rushed forward to the area in front of the opposition's direct line of travel. Her fist glowed an eerie blue and one would think that it would be the Hyuuga's defined Jyuuken style. However instead her hand was balled into a fist. When she struck the ground it crumbled beneath her.

A four meter crater expanded outwards with a depth of two meters. It would block any entry by the ground towards the burning Hokage tower. She looked up, eyes bearing forward into the chakra networks that she could see in the shadows. Nothing was said. Nothing was needed to say.

Even with just the three of them, Jiyuu, herself, and the samurai, they would win.

"Payment won't be necessary."

Amon gave a solemn nod to the kage accepting the invitation to aid him, as if he had even needed an invitation to help. The village had been more than generous and hospitable than anyone could have asked of a host let alone a shinobi village. If there was going to be a fight, he would not leave his hosts to face it alone. He wouldn't accept a reward for something any self respecting man would do.

As the shinobi stepped towards the blaze Amon's gaze looked ahead to where she was going when he spotted the shadowy figures approaching. The woman turned back, with a smirk and a set of the most serene and terrifying eyes Amon had ever seen. She assured them they wouldn't die and then she turned back to face the castle and approaching shadows. It looked as though she was going to take the lead which was just fine with Amon. He hung back and quickly rolled a spliff while watching the shinobi step forward fearlessly.

Amon was halfway finished licking the seal of his paper closed when it happened. The shinobi shot forward with impressive speed just before the enemy. Her fist glowing blue and bawled into a lethal and presumably angry fist, she drove it into the ground crumbling the earth beneath in a crater that expanded outwards. As the resonating boom echoed forth, the swordsman was so surprised he dropped his fist half way to the ground before catching it.

The shinobi had established herself on the field and now all eyes were on her but still Amon waited a moment lighting his spliff. He didn't want to leave his allies alone in this fight, but he had a feeling they could take care of themselves. It was in everyone's best interest at the moment if the swordsman did not join in the fray until he spotted an opening for a deadly kenjutsu entrance. Just charging into the unknown enemies without any ranged techniques would quickly get Amon killed.

”I thank you Kohana…” the Hokage said, his voice soft as his gray eyes shifted to meet hers,”But I simply cannot allow that. It is not your duty to keep us alive. That is mine. You cannot have such a weight upon your shoulders.” Jiyuu said with a sigh as memories crept into his senses. In the past, before, it had been his duty to protect, but that was a complete and utter failure, for he was the only survivor of that squad. But here, his guardianship was slightly different, for the life of the innocent depended upon him, not simply the lives of men and women who can fight themselves, the latter being slightly different. Should he fail here, guilt will devastate him.

”The blood we bleed is spilled righteously. We fight for truth, not the simple desire to rebel, not out of dissatisfaction.” his words rang with a certain irony, for Jiyuu himself wished to overthrow the Feudal Lords. He was no different from these rebels who assaulted Konohagakure. Truly, the Shikigami was a pathetic, hypocritical man, but there was no such time for hesitance as he must act. Kohana already jumped into action, and two of the figures, who had charged ahead during the time of speaking, were struck violently by the Gentle Fist, bones breaking under the immense force that caused the crater.

Jiyuu burst into action himself as his very figure morphed into paper as he fluttered towards the skies. Upon reforming, he was not a simple man anymore, nay, he was a fiend fluttering in the skies, using the attunement for paper to form wings upon his back, the paper black hued. In the skies, at twenty meters, he hovered, wings beating furiously as his lithe figure remained aloft. Hundreds of paper scurried forth from his body to cover the grounds beneath, an area of ten meters. By the time he has reached that height, the three remaining creeping figures lunged forward from their spot of hiding.

The first was a large man, six feet and five inches, unarmed, charging directly for Kohana. The second was much smaller, barely five feet, with a blade in his hand, charging towards Amon. The third was a man of average size flinging a Kunai towards Jiyuu.

A smirk played at her lips as the two men fell before her, crushed by the immense force of her attack. Gentle Fist mixed with that of her chakra enhanced strength was enough to break anything that it touched. In her hands alone she had enough power to level a whole building if she so desired.

Her Byakugan picked up Jiyuu rushing into battle as she had done, the paper from his body fluttering about as he floated above the battlefield on his wings reminiscent of an angel. Despite his doubts, Kohana knew that he was more than capable of defending this village and its people.

You say it is your duty to keep us all alive, but as the medical ninja of this make shift cell, I will make sure that you are well taken care of...I promise you that...

The remaining three came out to attack, each one choosing their targets to attack singly. Kohana had no worries about Jiyuu, and only hoped that the samurai could hold his own. Her opponent was that of a strong looking man, quite tall, and much larger in frame than her.

Unfortunately for him, she was a man eater.

Her smirk widened to something almost sadistic as her demonic white eyes flared and bore straight into the unarmed man that charged her. Chakra was expended and pushed from her tenketsu as she spun on her heel the moment the man entered the realm of her eight divinations.

The Heavenly Spin that followed expanded out and would repel the man away from her, sending him back. In that moment that the man was expelled back, the dome fell and the chakra was concentrated back into her fists. When she had came to a stop from her spin, spectral lion heads erupted with a roar around her hands. Then she charged, aiming to strike the man down.

After all, she was a beast.

[That Guy]

The hokage ascended into the air by powerful black wings he had decided to produce from his shoulders giving him the appearance of a vengeful angel. Between the white eyed demon and this avatar of revenge Amon was more than impressed. If Konohagakure shinobi all were all as terrifying and powerful as these two, Amon wondered whether the rebels actually considered themselves a threat. Surely they saw no hope of victory against these fantastic abilities.

Apparently they did however, as the remaining three split and charged the company in one on one encounters. Takumi smiled and inhaled deeply on his spliff filling his lungs with thick black smoke. The man with a sword had chosen to charge Amon, perhaps he considered him to be on even ground. Amon however knew the man was far below him as he spotted several incorrect steps in the man's charge.

Just as the man was drawing close the swordsman grew a broad grin and opened his mouth exhaling sharply to expel the smoke in a small meter shroud between them as a smoke screen. In what seemed to be a flash of steel and steps Amon drew his katana and counter charged through the smoke screen, picturing the other swordsman and where he should be by now in his charge, before lunging straight through the cloud with intent of thrusting his katana straight through the man's chest.

Amon's speed and strength were that of a veteran swordsman, flashy and hard to trace. He lacked the raw power and ability of his allies, but for what he lacked he would make up for in the speed and finesse of his strikes. There were likely to be many rebels so accurate thrusts and slashes to down his enemies quickly would be necessary.

Kohana

Unfortunately for her, the man came to a quick halt during his run once she initiated her spin, stopping to allow his hands to burst into a series of hastened seals, the dance of the finger fluid and uninterrupted as Kohana was busy spinning. From ten meters away, upon completing the seals which took only a second, the thug slammed both palms onto the ground and the earth beneath the Hyuuga shifted.

A whirlpool appeared beneath her feet, which, notably, spun opposite from the direction of her current spin to worsen the effects of the revolving split earth palm. Evasion would fall rather difficult, but should it fail, the whirlpool will be far from deadly, but rather, just cause some pain as it wounds the legs or perhaps just inhibit movement somewhat.

When the ninja forms the needed handseals and slams their palm to the ground, surrounding rock around their victims will begin to churn and twist up crushing all those trapped within it.

Amon

For Amon, the smoke screen proved rather detrimental, for the charging swordsman sheathed his blade during the approach and performed a series of seals in a flash, calling forth a fire clone, which was completely concealed by the smoke that covered the area – and due to the tempo of the seals, the clone was completed already by the time the smoke spread and the sword strike was made. Another seal followed when the smoke was around the area, only a single one. Immediately upon connecting with the thug, Amon would instead strike the clone due to that night instantaneous change from the simple body replacement technique. The clone begun its own hand seals, regardless of whether or not it was struck. The clones creator, meanwhile, positioned himself five meters to the right due to the change and, out of the cover of the smoke, begun his own seals too.

Jiyuu simply shrugged at the kunai, nonchalantly disregarding it as he hovered towards the side – but therein lied his mistake. He oversaw the wire attached to the end of the kunai, and with a quick flick of the rebels wrist, its path was changed, sending the metal tip to scrape Jiyuu’s thigh. With a grim frown, blood began to flow as he initiated a series of rapid seals. Upon completion, their two fold nature was revealed.

Paper fluttered forth from his body to land upon the grounds, taking on several shapes. Two clones appeared forth from the mass of paper, one looking like Kohana and the other like Amon. The two charged towards their respective look-alikes to join them in the battle. The rest of the paper morphed to form three blades, both rapidly darting towards the thug who had struck Jiyuu with kunai, who had flung yet another, this one tagged.

The easy to do strategy that was in her head to strike the man down with her spectral lion fists obviously did not come into fruition. As she spun, he had stopped his charge and punched the ground. The ground itself then churned and spiraled the opposite way of her Heavenly Spin. This was bad.

The moment she stopped, the rocky vortex started to pull her down but like before, she expelled chakra from herself, though not into a dome like barrier. Instead chakra was pushed from everywhere in her body outwards, like a shock wave out. This disrupted the attack enough for her to be able to retreat from it and get to safety with minor injury.

That dick, if he thinks he's going to win just because he's this big mass of man, he has another thing coming...

Scowling at the man as she made her recovery, Kohana quickly made the necessary hand signs before inhaling sharply, though briefly. From her gullet and seeping out of the sides of her lips a purple substance could be seen and within that next instance she blew the poisonous mist out and towards the man before her.

Despite being from the Hyuuga clan, one that specialized in taijutsu, Kohana wasn't just limited to that. After all, she was a medical ninja who's skills far surpassed that of anyone in her own clan when it came to combination of the different arts she possessed.

Hyuuga, Medical Arts, and Chakra Enhanced Strength. These would let her win for sure.

Amon's vision got considerably brighter as his sword pierced the chest of his target about two feet further back than he had initially predicted. His victim rather than slouching or falling immediately went up in flames suddenly causing the swordsman to bound backwards through the remnants of his smoke veil but it did little to mask his short retreat as the thick cloud of smoke dispersed into the air.

Out of the cloud of smoke, that had proven to be his enemy's advantage rather than his own Amon was able to spot the man to his right forming handseals of his own. Again the swordsman retreated leaping to his left in the opposite direction of the man. He didn't know what attack would come next, but the rebel's diversion had bought him enough time to surely complete and launch the attack before Amon would've had a chance to interrupt him. Gaining distance between the next assured attack was the prudent option to give the swordsman some time to evade or block it.

Now running sideways but sure to keep his eye on the rebel Amon puffed moderately on his spliff as it burned lower and lower. This was only the first fight and Amon would have to conserve his stamina as well as his spliffs so he would not burden the shinobi with protecting him. The swordsman was determined to carry his own weight in this battle no matter what came after them.

Kohana

From ten meters away, the thug scarcely had enough time to react, and in the middle of performing his hand seals, he inhaled the cloud. His eyes widened in shock as his body began to feel numb. Plummeting forward on the ground, he collapsed face first with a grunt, incapable of moving for the next few moments.

Yet, a rather cruel turn of fate struck shortly after the man was paralyzed…

Another thug ran towards Konoha, this one surely an utter strike at her will, for the assailant was another Hyuuga. A man much older than her, brow creased. Age wore heavily on him as seen with the wrinkled both on his face and his hands. With a narrowed gaze he stared at Konoha, from twenty meters away, hands held out, eager to begin the battle.

Amon

The creator finished his hand seals, but did not yet complete the technique. As the last seal was held, he began to dash backwards, feet at a quick haste as he attempted to continue to increase the distance. For two seconds he ran, awaiting the move of the foe before unleashing the fiery fury.

”My fury knows no bounds.” the Hokage roared, fingers once again dancing to perform the next set of seals. Flying towards the right, he avoided the kunai.

The three swords, meanwhile, reached the thug that attacked Jiyuu. From three sides, simultaneously, they struck – the top, left and right, impaling him fiercely as he feebly attempted to evade the curious paper blades. The two clones, meanwhile, continued their charge, close to joining Amon and Kohana.

She watched as her opponent fell, knocked out from their little battle thanks to the poisonous mist that she had spewed from her mouth. As much as she would have liked to punch a hole right through his torso, that didn't seem to be an option as another thug seemed to dart out to meet her.

Roughly, from what she could tell, he was twenty meters from her. He was older. And, above all else, he was a Hyuuga. Her demonic ivory eyes bore into his as she took the typical stance to a Hyuuga, the Jyuuken, though slightly different.

After all, she didn't want to be exactly like them. Like before, chakra charged into her hands, though now open palms, as spectral lion heads appeared, roaring into existence. Gleaming white eyes from the lions were aflame as she charged the man.

He was a Hyuuga, an insurgent, and an enemy. Triple the reason to absolutely despise him. With her lion palms, she would slice through him with their fangs and erode his chakra to nothing. He would whither, just like the old man he was. After all, how could he survive a barrage of strikes from her lion fist?

Especially when this wasn't just any chakra that was being pulled into her palms. Not by a long shot. The moment that her strikes would connect, she would release that chakra. The fangs would do their damage, and then her Souin strength would do the rest.

Description: Of the few non-main Gentle Fist techniques, Juuho Soushiken is nonetheless an attack to be feared. After gathering chakra into their fists, the Hyuuga will skillfully spin and rush towards their target in order strike them. Spectral heads of pure, Hyuuga chakra will then form around their fists, forming two large lion-shaped shrouds that can be used to attacks the opponent. Because of their nature, they can move past solid defenses and attack the opponent internally. Best of all, because of the chakra's nature, any contact the claws have with the victim's chakra network results in immediate chakra loss - a condition made likely with the tenketsu revealing powers of Byakugan.

Description: The Golden Thunder Power comes in the form of any powered up punch or kick with enough chakra behind it to send the victim behind the strike flying. Such a strike often results in added injury from the forced flight, as well as the strike itself.

Amon sprinted parallel to the man drawing no closer and gaining no distance between them, maintaining the distance they currently had at about twenty meters. Twenty meters would give Amon time to avoid and evade an attack at range and then the swordsman could quickly close the gap. Once in close quarters he would most likely have a large advantage over the man and be able to quickly over power him.

As if to tip the scales in Amon's favor even more, the swordsman spotted the copy of him the Hokage had made charging to aid him in the fight. The ninja would soon have two expert swordsman charging him, attempting to divide his attention between the two would be foolish however. For if the clone was like Amon it would be lethally accurate and just as quick to strike at exposed vitals.
