Haru smiled as he stepped out of the Hokage's Tower and back into the crowded streets. His first mission had just commenced. He was a little anxious, but at the same time excited. It wasn't something that involved any danger though, so there wasn't too much to be nervous about. As it was his first mission, he'd picked one of the easiest on the board, anyways. Moving forward, the boy would pull out a small piece of paper and begin to read.

A task that would be made simple with the use of his Byakugan. After reading it a few more times, Haru decided it would be best to get on the top of a tall structure and scan different areas. However, the town was huge, and Haru wasn't sure he could find something so small. Either way, he would advance through the village with the objective heavy on his mind, and eventually found a building high enough. It was a long way up; ugh, he thought to himself.

After a couple minutes of climbing, he'd arrive at the top. The young Hyūga would then activate his Byakugan, simultaneously stepping out to the ledge of the rooftop. His eyes searched the village, going through the more populated areas first, and then into the alleys, backstreets, etc. Several minutes passed, he'd seen a few cats, but none fitting the description of Little Ayane.

"Hmm.."

He thought for a bit, but no other idea on how to find the mischievous cat came to mind. Argh! After a few more moments of frustration, Haru took a step back. He knew the key to finding this cat was to be patient, and so calmed himself. Back on task, the boy walked to the other end of the building and picked up where he'd left off.

Large commotion not too far off caught his attention. Watching via his Kekkai Genkai, the boy would see two cats running down a side street with a large loaf of bread in each of their mouths. After a moment, a burly man turned the corner in pursuit of the two. Haru hurriedly got down from the building as the two cats came his way.

A loud thud sounded off as he dropped down; it was enough to alert the theives of his presence. Damnit! They quickly made a left off into the middle of a crowded street. Haru sprinted after them, all the while his Byakugan stayed trained on the target. He gained on them little by little, going from about 30 meters away to 15. They made their way into the public park area, and towards a large tree.

"No!"

He was getting closer, but the two were still far enough away to get to the tree before he could do anything. Shunshin, the idea quickly popped in his head. Mad at himself for not thinking of it sooner, the boy angrily performed the handseals required, and then appeared in-front of Ayane. They were startled by the jutsu, giving him time to dive onto the two of them.

He secured one, but the other worked its way out of his grasp. No you don't! Haru's hand wrapped around it's tail, but let go as the animal turned back and bit him. Rubbing his hand, the Genin decided to let it go. He had the one he'd came here for, as well as the two loafs of bread to give back to the man; who was now running towards him.

"Here you go, sir."

"Yeah. Uh, thanks."

After shaking hands with the man, Haru would set off towards Lady Haruni's estate. Along the way, her cat put a few scratch marks on his hand, and Haru had actually pondered striking back at it. After squeezing it a bit harder, however, it gave up and was quiet. He reached her house before long, and began to knock with a smile. An older lady appeared at the door a few moments later.

"Here's Ayane, maybe keep her on leash from now on?"

"Maybe.. Thanks for the help anyways."

Haru was very happy with his performance, it had been a fun task. After a bit of reminiscing, he'd take off back toward the Hokage Tower to receive ryo, and a new mission. It seems like this was a success. haha my first mission, a success.

--mission 02. this is a stick up pt.1.

Having not stopped since he'd gotten up this morning, the young Genin decided to halt for a second. While his first mission had been simple, Haru expected his current one to be a bit more challenging. Ironically, this time around he wasn't anxious at all, just ready to get started. As he took a seat near the tower he'd just left, Haru would begin to re-read the mission information.

Tonight a robbery would ensue, and Haru would be there to stop them. He was definitely up for it; what kind of shinobi would he be if he couldn't take down a few bandits? Haru was guessing it wouldn't happen until night, but figured he might as well head down there - atleast to speak with the residents. Getting up from the bench, the boy would make his way through the village and to the house location.

On his way, Haru decided to walk through what was considered a 'bad' part of Konoha. He knew this was probably where the bandits lived, and wanted to see if he could spot anyone acting suspicious. As he entered, the boy could feel hundreds of eyes watching him; though, studying the area he saw very few people out. He observed that every now and then someone would grimace at the sight of him.

By looks, it was easy to see Haru was a ninja; dressed in his traditional Hyūga robes, with an upper arm hitae-ate, and katana sheathed at his waste. He didn't understand why anyone could dislike a Shinobi, they were the reason this village was here. Nevertheless, it was besides the point, so he chose to drop it for now. Nothing happened as he made his way through the neighborhood, though towards the end he saw a pair of especially rough looking men eyeing him from a balcony.

After a few more minutes of walking, Haru would arrive at his destination. A three-story house you could tell was owned by someone very rich. There was fencing around the house that looked like it had just been put up, and a thin gate needed to get in. Slowly opening it, he was immediately met by a man he could tell was either stressed, worried, or both. His expression worsened at the sight of Haru.

"NOOO!! You can't stop a group of grown men from trying to rob my house! Your just a little boy! How old are you?"

"Eleve-"

"What?! This can't be happening.. I'm paying Konoha to protect my house, and they send me a kid?!"

"I'm a Shino-"

"I don't care wh-"

"LET ME SPEAK! My name is Hyūga Haru, I'm a Shinobi, and I will protect your house. Age doesn't matter here, I can subdue a group of bandits. Now calm down."

"Well... Fine, but that you'll have to prove to me. I'm Yuki Kusuke.. Come in, I guess."

Inside, he was even more impressed. Bandits would truly hit the jackpot if they successfully robbed this house; however, that wasn't something Haru was going to let happen.. willingly, atleast. While inside, Haru was given a few bundles of very thick, sturdy rope. He had been taught different ways to tie someone up in the academy, and wasn't really worried about that. After a few minutes of awkward conversation, the man told him to stand outside and keep guard.

As the hours passed, Haru's anticipation for the robbery grew; howbeit, the idea of failing began to creep into his head. The light eventually turned to darkness, Haru ordered the man to leave the property, and, after making sure he was safe, prepared for the inevitable confrontation. As the minutes passed, the boy began to doubt himself. It’s a C-rank mission, it’s possible for a Genin to do, that was his only rationalization.

A whole group of bandits, that could mean 5, it could mean 10.. maybe that man was right.. Why had I been so sure of myself earlier?! I can’t do this.. I just can’t… I can’t… wait… I can do this, what’s gotten a hold of me, I’m a Genin! A Hyūga for that matter.. I can take care of a few bandits.... what’s wrong with me?

Little by little, Haru began to gain back control of himself, deciding those thoughts were due to a bit of sudden anxiety, and him being all alone in this darkness. Now focused back on the objective, Haru would activate his Byakugan and let his eyes search the perimeter of the house. A few moments passed, and then a dull 'thud' sounded off in the distance. Swift as a fox, Haru's gaze focused in on the noise.

There they are, 6 of them. The bandits never left his sight as Haru made his way to the back of the gate they'd soon be entering. He'd then pick up a decent sized rock spotted during his wait, and pause as the men broke down the front gate. The house was about 20 meters off in the distance, giving Haru enough room to work on capturing them. He would begin by launching the rock toward the temple of one of the men.

His Kekkai Genkai watched as the theif was knocked unconscious, and fell to the ground. One down. What he hadn't planned on was the man letting out a gasp right before he was hit. The group turned towards the small figure only meters away from them, and then back down towards they're unconscious comrade. Don't have time to stand here, think Haru! Before he could move, one of the Bandits yelled out.

"You son of a bitch!"

"Kazuo's unconscious! Get the Boy!"

Before they could move, the boy had performed the hand-seals needed to shunshin himself. He'd stop at the far right bandit, who immediatley swung at Haru. He wasn't that quick though, and Haru avoided it by simply pivoting his right foot outward. He'd then continue by using that small momentum to jab his right hand forth with four chakra-imbued fingers, aimed at the side of the man's neck. As the strike connected with his jugular vein, the man would slump down onto the floor.

Though he had been focused on that one bandit, he still had a 359 degree field of vision, and was able to watch as the other four surrounded him. He'd step into a Jūken stance, and watch attentively as the four began to converge on him. After quickly emitting chakra from each of the 361 tenketsu in the Hyūga's body, he would begin to rotate. This created a spinning dome of chakra around Haru - the Hakkeshō : Kaiten - which flung each of his four foe's away.

Three were knocked out by the impact they'd made with the fence/ground, the other just dazed. Haru ran towards him, the man looked up with a confused expression before he too was layed out. The 11-year old Genin stood atop of his last foe, his sword hilt having just connected with the man's temple. He'd swiftly sheath his sword, and then move onto the next task - tying each of them up.

Not taking time to relax, Haru would hurriedly grab the thick rope given to him by the estate's owner, and begin tying each of the men up; starting with the two he'd first fought, and then the others. Before long he had each of them bound by rope, and then all connected by another line of rope he'd use to drag them down to the prison. It was late at night, so he wouldn't attract too much attention.

Driven by the idea of him sleeping in bed, Haru worked his hardest to move the hundreds of pounds a block or so down to the prison. After what seemed like days, he arrived, and dropped the group off at the door. He made sure the officer had them inside before leaving. One last trip and he'd be able to go rest. He made the long trek to the place Yuki Kusuke had been sent to, and let him know it was safe to move back to his house. Haru was in no mood to speak now, so simply waved in goodbye as he left the man’s property.

Haru was relieved to be able to go back to his own home, having been out all day. He had done it, his first C-rank mission was complete. Though he wasn't used to this type of lifestyle yet, the young Hyūga knew he'd be quick to adapt. It was only his second day, and he'd already liked it much more than a life at the academy. Now that he thought about it, the young Genin was looking forward to doing this all again tomorrow.

After a long walk, Haru would find himself in the Hyūga Compounds. What an eventful day, he'd think to himself as he stepped into his living quarters.

--mission 03. garbage man.

Haru awoke ready and prepared to begin the day's work. After eating a bowl of ramen, he'd say goodbye to his family and head on out. Having picked up more than one mission yesterday, he didn't have to worry about stopping at the Hokage's Tower. He wasn't in much of a hurry at the moment, as it was early in the morning; so he chose take the long way out of his clan's district, and go through the dojo.

He'd take some time to watch the younger Hyūga, and even some his age, work on their techniques. It reminded him of the days when he use to come in and do the same thing; though, lately he hadn't had much of a chance. Haru knew it was something he needed to do, especially if he wanted to become the most skilled Hyūga in his clan. After pondering on this for a bit longer, he decided tomorrow he'd come in and train.

For now, Haru would exit the dojo, while concurrently reading today's mission information.

Konoha often times gets filled with litter as it attempts to rebuild it's economy with bustling business. As such many different forms of trash can be found all about the village. Konoha is not known for being a dirty village. Clean it up.

Easy enough. He'd now make his way into some of the main streets of Konoha, knowing that's where the highest concentrations of trash would reside. On his way, he'd stop and grab several trashbags, each big enough to carry a huge load. Once there, Haru saw that it was going to be much more arduous than he'd expected. The streets and everything around them were crowded with people heading to work; Haru couldn't even see the ground.

He hadn't planned on it, still the young Hyūga would activate his Byakugan, and begin scanning the region. There was junk everywhere, and the hundreds of people littering all over the place only added to it. After a minute or so, he noticed the majority of people were doing this because most, if not all, of the trash can's were overflowing. After a bit more observing, he also saw a group of stray dogs running around knocking trashcans over to see what was inside.

He'd start by putting new trashbags into the various cans along the sidewalks. Running from one to another, Haru would hastily put in and take out the bags. Every now and then, trash would fly onto his face as he attempted to pull the garbage bags out. Ugh, this is disgusting... The work was nasty, but someone had to do it. He worked solely on this for atleast 2 hours, though it felt much longer, and was relieved when that part of the job was finished.

Stepping back, Haru watched as alot of the littering had came to a halt. It was now time to shoo away all of the dogs; Haru would start by running at them, it didn't work. He'd then try screaming, it didn't faze the dogs either. They're obviously searching the trash for food.. maybe if I find them some, they'll stop. Haru jetted off down the street, and back to his compounds. He'd run into his kitchen fridge, pull out a alot of meat, and sprint away as fast as he'd came.

Finding the stray dogs a few meters from where he'd left them, Haru was in dismay to see that they'd already rummaged through 4 other cans - leaving an even bigger mess for him to clean up. Getting the dogs attention by waving the meat in the air, the boy would then run off, trying to get as far away from trash cans as possible. With a loud bark, the horde of dogs began to chase him. After running for atleast 20 minutes, and having to shunshin a few times, Haru had led them far off into a more secluded area of the village.

He'd then throw the meat even further away, and move as they all sprinted towards it. He didn't think they'd be able to find they're way back as easy he would. And by the time they did, it'd be someone else's mission to collect trash. Haru would now make his way back to the crowded streets he had been on, there was still alot of work to be done. He came back to see that the crowd had died down a bit, since earlier, and he could actually get to work picking litter off the ground.

However, he'd begin by first picking up, and cleaning, the cans that had been dumped out and tipped over by the dogs. This was especially gross, but Haru knew it'd be over sooner or later. After his first task, he had gotten more used to working with trash; consequently, this time around he worked at a much faster pace. Another two hours passed before he finished cleaning, the young Hyūga took a second to sit and catch his breath as he finished.

His last task was to pick up all the litter spread out across the streets. This would probably be the most time-consuming task, but the hardest part of his D-rank mission was over. After picking up a few more trash bags, Haru would get right back to work. There was alot of trash, and it took him a few hours just to pick up most of it that was on the main streets of Konoha. He'd occasionally have to stop for more bags, it was truly a time-consuming task. However, the sight of seeing the ground so clean motivated him to keep going.

Cleaning the primary streets alone took several hours. He'd follow this up by scanning other parts of the village for excess amounts of trash. Here and there he'd have to run down and clean up, but eventually he finished. It was well into the afternoon when he finally got done. Haru would leave for the Hyūga Compunds, to wash up before heading to the Hokage Tower. It had been an exerting little mission; nonetheless, he'd completed it, and made Konoha, his home, a better place.

--mission 04. tag part 1.

The morning had just arrived in Konoha, and with it came a new opportunity for Haru to prove himself as a Shinobi. A Shinobi. Reflecting on this always forced him to smile. He was finally living his dream, one he'd had for as long as anyone could remember. Nevertheless, simply being a ninja was no where near enough; as for now, Haru's main aspiration was to one day become the most skilled Hyūga in his clan. This monumental goal is what drove him everyday, what made him get out of bed.

However, the boy was much younger than the majority of the Hyūga Shinobi around him, and all Shinobi for that matter, but planned on closing the experience gap through missions and training. Pondering on this, Haru decided that there would be no more going in early, taking breaks during training, just getting by on missions, or even relaxing. If he wanted to be the very best, he had to act like the very best; and right now he wasn’t. He’d have to work harder than the other Hyūga who were leaving the academy, but also those who’d been out for years.

It was no longer going to be something he talked about, he would let his actions speak for themselves. He would embody his goal, as he believed he wanted it more than any of the others. The best way to gauge his own skill, against everyone else's, was testing himself alongside the other Shinobi in battle. Haru knew he also needed to go out and, not necessarily make friends, but meet some of the other ninja in Konoha. Even if it were merely for sparring, the only fights he’d ever had before were small and light - never anything that had actually caused much danger.

It was time for him to truly take the reins as a ninja, and go out and show everyone that he was a force to be reckoned with. He wanted to demonstrate that age wasn't a factor with him, and that he could hold his own. Though, he wouldn’t be foolish and try and mess with someone who was way out of his league. Compared to most, he just wasn’t that skilled yet; the boy had only just graduated from the academy. However, of course, with time the young Hyūga trusted that he’d be one of the best.

--mission 04. tag part 1 ^(cont.).

Haru exited his clan’s district overflowing with determination and drive; motivated from his last mission, the boy decided to continue with the task of cleaning his home village. His current job involved scrubbing off graffiti from various locations around town; he’d already picked up a bucket of soap-water and towel from his home. Thinking about it, Haru couldn’t fathom the concept of why someone would vandalize their own town, but knew if he caught anyone at it there’d be hell to pay.

After chewing over this thought for a bit longer, the boy would make his way out to the first location. His fourth mission had just commenced. Upon activating his Byakugan, Haru would begin his journey through the village. There were a few locations marked on paper, but the Hyūga planned on scouring the village, via his Kekkai Genkai, anyways. He knew it would be easy to miss graffiti for anyone just walking around town and recording it, especially in the area’s where buildings crowded every inch of the pavement.

It wasn’t about doing the bare minimum requirements and getting ryo, no, it was about making Konoha better for the people around him. And though he wasn’t a saint, there were certain things he tried to do to help. Plus, he was the type of person that worked to give his all in everything he did. Therefore, he'd relentlessly scour the vicinity for defacement of the city's buildings. He directed his vision through the streets of Konoha, simultaneously writing his finds.

After only a few minutes of scanning, Haru had already found several small areas where graffiti had been sprayed. And nearly an hour and a half later, he had the rest of the village graffiti sites jotted down. There were an enormous amount, and, as he re-read the list, anger boiled inside of him. Not at the effort it was going to take to get the city back into shape, but at the fact that people would do such a thing.
