Now it was time to start the real work; he’d begin by making his way to one end of the village, and cleaning his way down to the other. It would be time consuming, but an easy task nonetheless. Haru hurried over to the right corner of the village and got down to business immediately. As he continued, he’d notice weird signs along the walls, and a lot of them were identical to eachother. Those ones were especially hard to get off; Haru remembered the mission saying something about failed academy students doing a lot of the graffiti.

He made his mind to work on tracking them down later on, Haru was certain he could catch them if he tried. Maybe it would be a mission in the future, if not, he’d do it anyways. They were where the majority of this graffiti was coming from, and he wasn’t going to stand for it. Besides from it degrading Konoha, it didn’t even look good. Graffiti may have sat a little better with him if some sort of expert had done it, but these were kids his age, and they were terrible. He gained a ton of satisfaction from washing down the walls, and watching the bothersome paint come off.

Thinking as he continued to scrub the walls, he wondered what their parents thought about them tagging countless buildings with graffiti. Haru himself wouldn’t be caught dead doing anything as stupid as this; it would be a disgrace, not only to himself, but to the rest of his clan, and Konoha. This and failing the ninja academy showed what type of people they were. It was disgusting, and put a bad taste in the boy’s mouth. Haru would find these kids and teach them that what they were doing was wrong; he hoped, above everything else, that they tried to retaliate.

Hours passed, and eventually Haru finished cleansing all of the graffiti from Konohagakure. A lot of the areas now looked brand new, and he was very happy with it. His arms were sore, but knew there was still work to be done. It was just reaching the afternoon, and the young Hyūga’s irritation at the boys hadn’t died down at all. He would first make his way home to put his supplies up, and then go search the Hokage’s tower for any missions involving annoying kids. They wouldn’t be allowed to ruin his village anymore.

--mission 05. tag part 2.

It was late at night; Haru could be seen sitting on the edge of a building, in the middle of Konoha. There weren't many people out, but those that were watched him with weird looks on their faces - most just surprised to see an 11 year-old boy out in the middle of the night. His feet swayed back and forth as he watched the stars, his mind raging with thoughts about his last mission. He had completed it earlier today, and, even now, was bent on taking the mischievous hoodlums down.

A deep-rooted fury, one he'd been able to shut down for years, was growing by the second. It was too late, and couldn't be helped now; all he could do to stop it was get his vengeance. With such strong emotions pouring through him, he decided he just couldn't sit there anymore. As he got up, Haru could be seen wearing a slender, collared black jacket, slim black pants, and low-cut, black nin-sandals. A Katana stretched along his back, and strapped to his left upper arm was a small hitae-ate. As he stood there, reflecting on the day’s events, the Hyūga couldn’t help but produce an angry growl.

“Bastards.”

Following the previous mission, Haru had made his way back into the Hokage tower. After only minutes of searching, the Genin found several reports of unruly kids wreaking havoc across town, and a mission. It entailed actually capturing the kids, perfect for someone who’d spent the day scrubbing their graffiti off of countless amounts of walls. Thinking about it lightened Haru’s mood, he’d get a chance for revenge; it was the only thing on his mind. It was almost too good to be true; he’d pull out the mission note, confirming that it was, in fact, reality.

He’d smile as his eye’s studied the small piece of paper, of which he’d probably read a hundred times. Normally, Haru wasn’t like this; however, the fact that there was a full moon out, combined with him having worked in the sun all day, had made him very aggressive. This side of him he didn’t show anybody; as it usually laid dormant, asleep deep within him. However, he was very heated, and couldn’t hold it in any longer. It was almost like letting a tiger out of its cage. Now, all he wanted to do was see the frustrating little kids suffer.

On his way back to the Hyūga Compounds, Haru would begin the work of formulating a plan. He couldn’t just use his Byakugan to find things as he’d done in most of his previous missions, due to the fact that there were no descriptions on the group of kids. He’d go straight to his room, silently contemplating on what he’d do to track them down. He now noticed how much he took his Kekkai Genkai for granted; now that he couldn’t rely on it, he was stuck. I’ve got to stop being so dependent on these eyes. Time passed and it was getting very late; he’d fall asleep with the thoughts still heavy on his mind.

Waking the next morning, his head had cleared and figuring out the plan was simple. The most logical thing to do would be to leave now, while it was still early, and search their neighborhood for clues. He knew he probably wouldn’t be able to catch them red-handed, but, at the very least, he would be able to get a decent description from the other residents. He guessed they were the lazy type, and wouldn’t be up for atleast a few hours. If he could figure out what they looked like, then use his Byakugan to find and catch them while they were sleeping, it’d make his job a lot easier.

Picking up where he’d left off the day before, the young Hyūga would now begin the task of tracking these ill-behaved kids down. In no time, Haru had arrived in the neighborhood, and quickly got to work. There were a few elderly people sitting on their porches, as well as some Shinobi his age beginning their day. As he suspected, the kids were nowhere in sight; he’d start the search by conversing with the elderly people, as they were the ones that’d probably seen the most of these kids; it was simple enough and after a brief chat Haru had descriptions on each member of the group.

He also found out that there had been attempts to detain these pesky kids before; however, they were all unsuccessful. Following the conversation, Haru would activate his Byakugan, in search of the boys. He’d scour the entire neighborhood, but, in the end, came up short. They had either all left earlier this morning, or had spent the night somewhere else. Ugh. He’d already deactivated his Byakugan, and was about to give up searching the area when something caught the corner of his eye.

Glancing towards the end of the street, there was a boy, looking to be around Haru’s age, staring right at him. As Haru made a step forward, the boy jetted to his right, and into a long back-street. That was.. odd. He’d pause for a few moments, mulling over what had just occurred. And then it struck him, the kid he’d just seen fit the description of one of those six boys. His eyes widened, but not giving himself time to be surprised, the young Genin would sprint the way his first target had. He’d shunpo once, which would get him to the corner at break-neck speeds.

Turning on it, he saw that the boy was nowhere to be found. The back-street was covered with fairly high fences on both sides; Haru wasn’t foolish enough to think a kid, who couldn’t pass the ninja academy, could run up one of those. Therefore, he had to still be around here somewhere. The young Hyūga would continue to walk along the middle of the path, activating his Byakugan as he did so. With this new vision, he easily spotted the boy hiding behind a camouflage cloth. Though, he didn’t move as Haru continued walking his way.

After thinking about it, the Konoha-nin figured he didn’t even know what the Byakugan was. It was sad, that one could be so ignorant; however, Haru would use this to his advantage. He’d walk past the boy, acting as if he hadn’t seen him. And then, catching the kid unawares, he’d swiftly turn while simultaneously unsheathing his Katana. His cloak fell off of him as Haru pointed the blade at his neck. He’d watch the frightened kid with a smile, thrilled to have caught the first adolescent. He’d stand there, the blade touching the boys neck, and wait for him to explain himself.

“wh…wha-what di-did I d..do?”

“Don’t give me that! What do you take me for?”

He’d slap suspect with the side of his blade, knocking him to the floor.

“I haven’t done anything wrong!! I-I pr-promise!”

“Save it… I spent all of yesterday cleaning your graf-“

“-that was you?!”

“Yes! Now you’ll pay. I’m going to cut your arm off unless you give me information.”

Haru was, of course, exaggerating, but he’d still put the tip of his Katana on the boy’s shoulder.

“OK! OK! He-here, take this letter. Its where we are meeting today.. our biggest tag yet.. the Hokage mountain…”

After taking what he wanted, Haru would tie the kid down to be picked up later. For added measure, he’d throw the camouflage cloak back over him. Making his way down the road, and back into the neighborhood, Haru would read the note over and over. Basically, it stated that they were to meet at the Hokage Monument at around 7am, and planned on finishing at around noon; at which time they'd all meet back here and celebrate. He'd put the poorly written letter back in his pocket with a smirk etched across his face. They were his.

It was nearing 8am when Haru had found the little ruffian; as they were supposed to arrive at 7, he was guessing the kid was so late due to oversleeping, or just being lazy. It didn’t really matter though, just gave him some insight on the type of people these guys were, as if he didn’t know already. The Konoha-nin could now be seen sitting on the curb of their neighborhood. He was deciding how to approach them without any escaping or running off. He had until noon to figure it out, but didn’t want to wait too long as it’d be him cleaning the mess up.

Pondering the subject, he began to question whether he even wanted to surprise them. If he ran at them, what would they do? Just stand there watching with wide eyes, probably. What he truly wanted was for them to retaliate, so he could actually hurt them, and, consequently, get his revenge. He’d spent a whole day cleaning up some group of immature kid’s mess. Now they would pay the price for defacing Konohagakure no Sato; Haru would see to it. Thus, he’d begin the journey across the village, up the monument, and to the kids.

After a few minutes, he’d made his way to the top. He’d already spotted the group tagging all sorts of images onto the Hokage’s faces, via Byakugan, and was almost upon them. As he got closer, Haru would stop to observe the situation - there were only four here, when there should have been five. Searching the 50-meter vicinity had confirmed him of that. Though, it wasn’t something he could really be concerned with now; he was solely focused on attacking them logically, and with efficiency. Still not forgetting the past, he knew that exacting revenge was above it all.

As he neared, there was a pebble lying on the ground that Haru hadn’t seen; he’d slip on it, nearly falling, and making enough noise to alert the four. NO! The two in the back ran off, while the others rushed Haru, pulling Kunai out in mid-stride. This was what he wanted, he just dreaded the idea of searching for the others after this little skirmish. As the two advanced, Haru would step into a Jūken stance, while concurrently activating his Byakugan. The one on the left would arrive first, attempting to slash at Haru with a Kunai.

He’d lean and pivot to the left, thus avoiding the attack. Subsequent to this, he’d disarm the boy of his Kunai with his left hand, while - with the other - thrust forth a chakra-imbued palm, aimed at the kids jaw. It connected with a crack, and his Byakugan watched as the body fell to the ground, unconscious. The other had stopped now, and was finishing the hand-seals needed for a Bunshin. Haru would laugh, as he could easily see through something as novice as that. There were two, both of which he’d run right past, and converge upon the real boy with the side of a kunai to his temple; out cold.

His adrenaline was pumping, and it took him a little while to regain himself. Once he did, Haru grinned in triumph; especially because of the fact that the kids were his age, one had actually been taller than him. After the violence, he felt much better than before, almost as if a weight had been lifted off of the young Hyūga’s shoulders. Still, his thirst for vengeance hadn’t been sated yet, and it wouldn’t be until he’d had his way with the last of them. Nonetheless, the quick fight had definitely been an exhilarating moment, and he’d calm back down as he took the time to tie both of them up.

Three down, three to go. He’d remembered the direction the two runaways had went, and was able to spot them just coming down from the monument. He’d utilize a shunpo to get closer, and then begin the foot-race. He was on their tail, and gaining with every second they ran. The pursuit took him through a whole section of the village, during which time he’d noticed the kids pace slowing. They weren’t full-fledged Shinobi, and just didn’t have the stamina Haru had. However, they began to lose him as someone threw a carton of kunai down.

He noticed it at the last second, and barely had the time to roll out of the way. He was shocked at the audacity of whoever had done that; as it very well could have been fatal. He’d take a moment to stop and re-scan the region in search for his two targets. It’d been a weird occurrence, but there was no time to stop and think. About five minutes later, Haru was nearing the two kids again. They were slowing faster than they had before, and after a few more seconds of running they stopped. His Byakugan was locked onto the two panting delinquents.

Following a couple more moments of running, Haru would be within meters of his prey. He’d pounce on them, diving through the air and onto their backs. The three of them wrestled for several seconds, but in the end Haru was victorious. He’d pinned both of them down under each of his knees, and swiftly worked on tying them together. As he stood, Haru had forgotten about the final kid. But there he was, he jumped on Haru’s back as he was distracted, and began choking him with ferocity. Still in shock, the Genin instinctively flipped him over his shoulder.

He slammed into the concrete with a ‘thud’, during which time a furious Haru would already be on top of him. He landed a barrage of blows to the kid’s face, stomach, chest, and just about anywhere else he could get his hands on. It was only after someone pulled him off that he’d stopped; the kid he’d pummeled looked nothing like the one that’d choked him. His face was bruised all over, and he was clutching his side as if he’d had a broken rib. He had been blinded with fury, mainly due to the suddenness of the attack, and the epiphany that it’d been this one that’d thrown the carton of ninja-tools at him.

Haru would get himself together, and then tie the last boy up. Following several more minutes of rest, he’d begin the task of going back and gathering the two boys from the Hokage Mountain, and then the one in the back-street. It was some time before he’d finally dragged them all to the Hokage Tower, but once he did, the Genin felt a thousand times better. His revenge had been exacted, and the criminals had been put away. His mission was almost complete, except for the arduous work of cleaning off the Hokage Monument. Though it may not have been his job anymore, he couldn’t stand the sight of something so grand being tarnished.

He’d make his way into his home, and leave with the same bucket and towel he’d used to clean the previous day’s graffiti. Upon finishing, he’d look at the Hokage in awe; each of them were amazing in their own right. Haru was never attracted to the idea of ruling a village, but he definitely respected the ones that did it. Now that this mission was behind him, he could take the time to sit and think. The Sōke Hyūga sat and reflected upon everything that’d happened as of late. Out of it all, the most important was the fact that he’d rid Konoha of a true nuisance, and made his home a better place because of it. Getting up, Haru would now make his way back into the Hokage Tower, prepared to take on a new mission.

--mission 06. ramen ramen ramen.

Haru would exit the Hokage tower in the same way he’d done every other day, ready and prepared to begin his next job. As he began to move forward, the young Hyūga could be seen wearing a slender, white long-sleeve shirt, slim black pants, and low-cut, black nin-sandals; he had his Katana strapped along his back, and a small hitae-ate fastened around his left upper arm. His blank expression searched the village, contemplating on where he’d begin his next mission.

It was much lighter than any of the one’s he’d recently been on, as it entailed simply making ramen deliveries around the village. It was a task he’d saved for when he needed to cool down, and just take a break from the C-ranks. Both of his previous assignments had been very taxing; one forced him to spend a scorching hot day cleaning others graffiti off the walls, and the other actually tracking and capturing the criminals that’d done it.

While those were, at the time, fun missions, the aftermath left Haru exhausted and ready to go to sleep. Doing tasks like these, he would be able to finish it and complete one or two more in the same day. He’d visited Ichiraku’s a few times before, and knew it was probably the best ramen shop in town. It was constantly bustling with people; there was never a time when the little hut was empty. He knew it was only a matter of time before they ran out of ingredients, and would need help so they could get them.

The Konoha-nin would gladly assist them in their time of need; probably more so if they offered him a bowl of ramen in return. He liked missions like this, because it was something he could be calm while doing, and not constantly on edge. The young boy would head that way, bringing with him a nicely drawn map of the village, just to make sure he didn’t get lost on his way around town. It'd be a long walk, but he was ready to begin the day.

As he made the long trek to the other side of Konoha, he began to reflect on what he'd done so far. He'd completed several missions, and had enjoyed them all. However, he didn't think there was much to gain out of all of this; it wasn't helping him to develop as a ninja, really. He'd read about other villages before, the different things they did to prep their young Genin, and began to want that for himself.

Above everything, he wanted to be the best.. staying in Konoha wouldn't do that for him, atleast he didn't believe so. While it was a huge village, it was populated with more regular civilians than anything else. While other places, he suspected, were more densely populated with ninja. It would be a town like those where he could truly train and grow as a Shinobi. He'd drop the thoughts as the shop came within sight; after a few more moments of walking, he'd step in with a smile.

“Uh, hello.”

He spoke in a clear, loud tone. However, the two were frantically running about and hadn’t heard a word he’d said. He’d stand there, observing them both as they scrambled from here to there, cooking, while at the same time preparing to leave and go pick up the necessary ingredients. It was funny, watching this elderly couple moving like that. The young boy continued to study the two, not wanting to startle them with his sudden appearance, as he was the only person in there at the moment.

As soon as they began to slow down a bit, Haru would step forth, waving toward the two; once again, he was ignored. Taking a seat, he’d wait until they were done cooking before trying to introduce himself anymore. As he sat there, Haru’s eyes surveyed the two at work, it was amazing. They moved between pots and pans so swiftly, you would’ve thought them to be Shinobi themselves. At this point they had about 10 boxes of ramen finished, and didn't look like they planned on slowing down anytime soon.

He decided that, if being a ninja didn’t work out for him, he would try his hand at being a chef. With all of the customers these two usually got, Haru knew they must’ve been making a killing. Probably more than a lot of the Shinobi in this village, it was amusing to him. Maybe it’d be something to think about once he retired, as it’d still be a fun way of continuing to support the village; feeding hungry ninja was a big service to the Konoha, he suspected.

"Hmm..."

After a few more minutes, the two finished, amassing a total of twenty large boxes of ramen. He assumed it was what he was going to be delivering, and was excited to get the mission started. Instead of speaking, they simply rushed out; leaving Haru with the boxes and a large cart embedded with the words Ichiraku Ramen on it. Hmm, they really take their job seriously. Looking inside a cart, Haru found a list of addresses that needed to be delivered to. He’d mark them on his town map, and then begin.

Haru would begin pushing his cart full of ramen out of the shop; he was equipped and ready for the deliveries to commence. His first location was towards the corner of the town, not too far away from where he was now. Before setting off, he’d look around, surveying the environment as he always did. It was a nice day out, with smiling people walking everywhere around him; he’d produce a smile himself, and head on out to his first customer.

As he traveled, the young Hyūga’s mind began to revert back to those previous thoughts of a new village. Leaving Konoha wasn’t something that’d be taken lightly, even if it was with the Hokage’s permission. And it was the fact that, even if he wanted to move, this place would still be sorely missed. He’d grew fond of it; and other than his clan, it was the only thing he’d ever sworn allegiance to. This was a hard decision, as it would shape the rest of his life.

Before he knew it, Haru was at the customer’s house, and had knocked on their door. He’d deliver the ramen with a smile, and head on out to the next location. It was pretty far, he'd take a deep breath, and then leave for the second customer. Again, he'd arrive with the ramen, and leave for another. It wasn't long before the thoughts crept back into his head, and he again began to contemplate on whether or not he should leave.

All through the academy, he’d worked to one day bear the title of Konoha Genin. He’d only been one for days, and already wanted to dismiss this for another village? It sounded odd, but he knew if he stayed, he would only hurt himself. There just weren’t enough powerful ninja in this town anymore; he had a gut feeling that moving was the only thing he could do. He could possibly join a Genin squad, but even the idea of being around more ninja excited Haru.

And then something struck him, what would his clan think? What would his parents say when he told them he was leaving, and probably wouldn’t return? There was no way he could persuade them, but simply escaping in the middle of the night wouldn’t work either. He would most likely be hunted, and Haru wasn’t sure if he was strong enough to fend for himself yet. He would leave Konoha eventually though, he wouldn’t be left behind by the other ninja his age.

“I can’t stay here..”

He was at the next destination before he knew it, the young Hyūga would deliver the ramen with a smile, and then journey to the next house. It continued like this for about two hours; in which, he’d delivered all of the ramen. Upon turning the cart back in, he was gifted with a bowl of ramen, and then shoo’ed away so other ninja could come in. Haru smiled once more, and then headed back to the Hokage tower, the idea of running away still heavy on his mind

He’d only recently arrived back in Konoha after traveling to the edge of Hi no Kuni, and was already preparing for his next mission. He was headed toward the hospital, which was where his next mission would commence. His task was to escort a nurse out of Konoha to get medicine ingredients. He took it because it looked like it’d require little to no effort on his part. Lately, the boy’s drive and ambition had been lacking; this due to the fact that he wasn’t going to be staying in Konoha for much longer. He believed that eventually it would fall, as there just weren’t enough skilled ninja around anymore.

It wasn’t just because of the fact that there weren’t enough ninja in town; he had also begun to grow tired of this village. Everyone was the same here, this especially applying to his clan. He was confused on what to think of them at the moment; torn between the two separate sides of the Hyūga. However, none of it truly mattered anymore, he had already decided getting away and not having to deal with either of them would be best.

It wasn’t him being a coward and running from his problems, because these weren’t his problems; but rather, an accumulation of other people’s troubles that he felt obliged to fix. But no longer, Haru just didn’t care anymore; even the strong sense of allegiance he’d felt toward his clan and village was gone. While in his current mind-state, he was treating his duties without importance. Where he may have once been giving 100% effort, you’d now be lucky to see him give 10.

He would soon arrive at the hospital, finding Ms. Megume already waiting for him at the front door. He’d greet her with a smile, though it was empty, as he was now only doing this for the ryo. It’d be a task he could do every day, simply escorting this lady back and forth, from the hospital to Hi no Kuni and back. He decided that this would be done to occupy the remainder of his time spent in Konoha, as it still rewarded him with the same ryo as any other d-rank.

It would happen swiftly, as he walked the nurse out into the fields of Hi no Kuni to pick ingredients. She was an expert, and quickly found what she wanted. The boy would simply stand there, helping her get certain herbs when she asked; but for the most part, making sure she wasn’t harmed in any way. They were only the outskirts of town, so the odds of that happening were very slim. Soon she’d finish, after which he’d take her back to the hospital and deliver the ingredients.

Yesterday, he’d completed a d-rank mission in which he escorted a small-time nurse out of Hi no Kuni. They’d also told him it was repeatable, and he could take this same nurse for daily morning runs to get ingredients. It qualified as a d-rank, even though it was simple, and could be done with little to no effort. Haru identified it as a nice opportunity to earn a little ryo, and so he had decided to take the hospital and Konoha up on their little offer.

It also left his afternoons wide open, as he no longer felt it necessary to do two missions a day. These hours could be spent in his clan’s dojo, training and working with other Hyūga on techniques. Though they didn’t agree on a lot of things, training was something all Sōke loved doing. The idea of this almost felt too good to be true, though he knew they had been sincere in telling him. Therefore, he’d get up that morning excited, and ready to begin.

He’d exit his clan’s district soon thereafter, on his way to the hospital. He was wearing his usual slender, collared black jacket, slim black pants, and low-cut black nin-sandals; a katana hung diagonally along his back, and a small hitae-ate was strapped to his left upper-arm. As always, his expression was an emotion-less one; though he was a sort of enthused to begin the days task. Easy ryo was something every ninja loved, young or old.

Haru would show up at the hospital before long, and once again, the lady was there waiting. They’d exchange a quick greeting before getting to business. He’d make sure to be within arms distance of her as they made their way through the bustling streets of Konoha. It was especially crowded this morning, for some reason, and it got to the point that she had to grab onto his sleeve just to stay together.
