This was it. Her first mission. Ever.
Luckily, she had gotten a good one.
As soon as May was inside the small building she knew she was in the right place. A warm smell filled her nose, and she took several deep breaths. Ramen.
It was one of those things that everyone would have had memories of, the warm, salty aroma of those long, silky noodles. It made May's taste buds go wild; she was hungry. But, that wasn't why she was there. She was there, for her first mission, a mission she couldn't help but to be excited about.
A local Ramen store was in some trouble; they needed some help with preparing a feast for a food critic. For some reason, a reason that May honestly didn't care about, the restaurant was low on staff. So, according to the crumpled up piece of paper she held in her hands, May was to become that staff.
Now cooking, it was easy for May. She grew up always helping her mother in the kitchen and seemed to have that knack for it. So she wasn't very worried on how the day would go. But she was prepared for anything. Anything!
Inside was humid and warm, May could her the settle "sizzles" from the grease. She made her way to a counter -- a very full counter, and tried to call down a rushing chef. But he was too busy. So she took that moment to look around, it was a smaller place, quaint. But anything like this would obviously attract customers, it was cute. The walls were covered with red paint, which seemed to match the long, narrow counter perfectly. Smiling faces filled the place, and all May could here now was laughter and chatter. It was a bit overwhelming.
She was pulled away from it all with a tap on her shoulder. She spun around on her feet only to meet faces with a short, larger man. His face was moist and his expression pained, and May tried to focus while his eyes jumped around the room. "Sir I --" She was cut off when he stared straight down to her, him being slightly taller. "Are you the person he sent? The Hokage?" May opened her mouth only to be cut off again. "I'm out of my league here, the critic will be her soon and I need the help." His tone was frantic and he seemed very stressed. "Sir, I'm sure you --" May was shut off yet again by the chubby man. But this time he multitasked. Pulling her to a door located near the counter. "We don't have much time, I just need you to help with the regular customers while I get the feast together."
He dragged her through the kitchen to a back room where few staff members stood awkwardly. They too, looked stressed. "This is your new waitress." He released his hard grip on her shoulder and scurried out. Two of the others fallowed him out, leaving May with a younger looking women. "Uhh. .hello." May managed, still trying to register all that just happened. "Sorry to. .keep you waiting?" She shrugged. Maybe she wasn't ready for this.
