Hotaru thought, jumping up through the canopy of the tree as, with his dying action, the last bandit sliced through the tree. Her hiding place was destroyed, at least she was unharmed. Falling back to the ground, she landed on top of the slain trunk just in time for her to catch a glimpse of the incoming troop of opponents. Without warning, water began to fall from the sky despite the absence of clouds. Without time to think of an explanation, Hotaru formed handseals as she responded to the threat of the bandits.
"Not likely."
She smirked before pulling her hand to her lips and she coiled her fingers in front of her mouth. An extremely wide blanket of molten lava fluttered into the air, creating a thick blanket of steam as it instantly boiled the incoming raindrops. The cover of lava cast an eerie red glow through the mist, obscuring her position from the bandits as well as trapping them under a 30 meter wide sheet of magma.
The cloud lingered for a moment before the sides quickly fell to the ground, likely trapping the entire group of bandits beneath it. Though there would be screams, they would go unheard and unanswered; the hissing sizzle of boiling water would be the only sign of their fate. A few moments later, the entire blanket of magma had settled, leveling trees, stones, shrubs, and people in a single swoop. The mysterious rain had kept the usual aftermath of a wildfire in check.
The lava cooled into stone and Hotaru walked towards the direction that the bandits had come from, no doubt leading her towards the base. She would soon learn the fate of her companion for the mission and whether or not he survived his first B ranked endeavor.Youkai (Melting Spectre)

Description: The user will first perform the needed hand seals before releasing a large amount of corrosive lava from their mouth, which spreads into a broad, thin sheet as it travels through the air. Since the lava is shot upwards in a severe arc so as to descend onto the targets from above, it prevents the intended individuals from jumping up to avoid the attack. A great deal of steam is created afterwards by the effects of the lava, so should the target still be alive, a follow-up attack can be executed while the target's vision is obscured. After two turns, the lava used from this technique will harden.

Though strangely and confusingly executed, your attack successfully eliminates your opposition. Whether it be drowning, being crushed by pressure or simply washed away too far to retaliate, you have cleared the camp of your opponents and even managed to clean up some of mess the bandit's had made.
The large building in the middle that once housed the man with the hammer seems to be your best bet for the storage and safe keeping of any records, and it doesn't hurt that there is a helpful sign outside that says 'captain's office. no entrance'. However, the large scale suiton based attack may have damaged the paper documents you seek. Yikes. You'll have to do your best to salvage what you can and hope you can find records somewhere that haven't been reduced to mushy gobs of paste.
