Kousa Compound[/center]

Kousa Compound. A standing marvel of what is human construction after the war. A colossal steel monument rises, at its highest point, seventy five meters into the air. This focal point happens to be the center of the entire compound, and at the top lies the operations room. Here, one would find all the information regarding the compound itself, as well as have a clear view over all that occurs within its iron-clad walls.

The compound, being one hundred meters by one hundred meters, is truly a wonder. Iron walls cover the exterior, measuring to a full twenty five meters in height. Every ten meters rests a small watch tower, and within each tower rests two guards, ever vigilant over what goes on about the landscape before it. Within, many structures, all measuring no more than twenty by twenty meters with ten meters maximum of height, all stand in an assortment of various materials. Ranging from wood to steel, this compound is heavily fortified.

Marching around the streets are small patrols of three guards each. The amount of patrols present at any one time are sixteen, four for each sector. These guards are forces to be reckoned with on their own. However, with the many twists and turns created by various constructions within the compound, can be easily avoided if the cards are played right.

The people living within are all dressed in specific uniform. Black shoes, black pants, and black shirt, which can be seen bearing a symbol across the back. It is depicted in a blood red color, and is the head of a man. Peculiarly, this head has distinguishing facial features. In fact, where there would be a face, there is only the black cloth of the shirt it is printed on. This is clearly representative of the man known as Faceless.

The tower is surrounded by a structure that covers the entire base of the structure. This structure itself is twenty five by twenty five meters, and reaches a height of forty meters. Within are obviously multiple levels, and only the top level will provide access to the tower, and therefore access to the operations room. On each corner of this structure are other towers, reaching another five meters into the air. Again, two guards rest within each, and all ready for combat.

No information can be currently given about what else lies within the compound, or what lies within the center structure. Only one thing is for certain; Faceless resides within the tower at its highest point; the operations room. You will begin at one of two points; a cave, approximately fifty meters from the compound, which will be the hidden entrance. Two of the four men stand waiting for you should you take this path. The second choice is to attempt to enter directly from the front. In this case, the other two men stand waiting, hidden in the forest another fifty meters from the compound. You will make your choice, and all will start from there.

This appears hard; it is supposed to be. Play your cards right and you will easily come out alive.

As she traveled Masumi couldn't help but replay the events that had so mysteriously unfolded a few moments ago. It was as if she was wisped away into wonderland and if she so much as even dared to think about anything else she'd lose hold of this moment, leaving the world around to crumble as if eroded by a most corrosive rain.

Almost as if Masumi were bewitched by the red cloaked lady her fading, last words seemed to reverberate through her mind as the wind created by her momentum clashed against her lithe frame, a mess of golden locks sprawled behind her whipping at the nape of her neck.

"I should be almost there..."

The two weapons upon her back an lower waist shifted slightly as she dropped down from the canopy above, her body moving at blinding speeds, a mere incoherent blur upon the mist filled grounds she ran across.

Breaking through from the forest's concaves she slid into a crouch her eyes wide from amazement and disbelief. Masumi's left shoulder tapped the boulders surface first, her body pressed against it as she stared from her cover, looking at the marvel of man construction. It was a giant structure comprised solely of steel, plethora's of looming towers stood upon it's perimeter.

"Whoaa...thats amazing"

It was something to truly behold, it's tip seeming to challenge God himself as if it were attempting to pierce the heavens themselves. Her heart erratically thudded against it's walls as Masumi slowed her breathing.

Glancing at the map again she was close to the hidden entrance she was given, after glancing at the compound stealth was looking like the best form of action. Although she was still near the forest's recesses Masumi dared not stand her full height until she was once more obscured by the undergrowth it offered.

Following the map she was given to the designated point she made sure to steer clear of sight, until she came to a caves opening, her guess was it was where she was suppose to go-mostly because of the two distinct men standing by the entrance.

Even from almost fifty meters away she could still see it, but she would turn her attention towards the men, placing the map back in her holster Masumi's gaze sharpened as words danced from off her lips.

"I'm here and ready to complete this task!"

Masumi spoke bluntly, her voice clear an concise as her steely gazed dare not faltered. This power that was promised...she'd attain it.

The hand would strike hard against her mouth, closing it firmly and with force as one of the cloaked figures suddenly appeared before her. Lifting her up in his arms, they landed heavily upon the ground, but his stance remained firm as they skidded to a halt. Letting the girl down, his hand would rise up to his mask, all fingers curled in save for one. A quiet "Sh!" soon followed, and the man would walk off, his head shaking slightly. It was clear that he already had doubts about the girl who had taken this mission. His voice was quiet, yet deep, and he quickly began to lower her spirits.

"Must we remind you that this is where our last informant died?"

He carried on, moving quickly yet silently to the cave before them. The cave was dark in its entrance, but far off there appeared to be tiny lights around a corner. They provided only minimal illumination, and even with their aid one would find it difficult to see. The man who had spoken before turned to her, nodding as he made a gesture inside.

"Here you will begin. This cave will take you to a warehouse somewhere in the north-western district. Our last resources claim this warehouse to be empty; take care all the same. If possible, avoid civilian casualties. This is as far as we can personally take you. You must complete this alone."

Their figures would then bow deeply, and within moments their bodies apparently began to dissipate, fading into nothing but mist as it was blown away with the breeze. The air would begin to echo, though only to Masumi, with the sounds of the woman's laughter. For a moment this would ring about her ears, before ending with a fading, "Good luck."

You may now begin the mission. The cave is illuminated in a single path, so it's clear that this is the right path. The light is only sufficient enough to see the floor, however. Your line of sight should only reveal about five meters before you with clarity. There are also several other branching paths. They are spaced evenly apart; about every ten meters you should find an alternating path. They begin first on the left, then on the right. They are not illuminated and it is not clear as to where they lead. This is all the information to be given at the time.

Abruptly she was picked up, a hand muffling her mouth as the perpetrator began to speak softly. He guided her into the cave an explained the situation to her, giving her directions an an approximation for where she would end up. He took his leave of her, his voice fading, which left Masumi well alone with it's ebony confines, alone with an most mysterious laugh before she'd hear the womans true final words.

Softly Masumi treaded into it's concaves, her hand upon the walls exterior for guidance. It was so dark, Masumi's eyes squinted trying their best to adjust to the dark recesses. It wasn't too hard to follow the path. Masumi followed the faint ivory glow that allowed her vision, albeit impaired. Daring not to venture into the twisting paths she kept to where the light was.

Several minutes passed in complete silence, leaving Masumi with nothing but her thoughts. After about twenty minutes of wandering in the dark she came to the warehouse section within the northeast. It appeared slightly abandoned, as if this wing was no longer in use. That was good for her. She'd press her back against the last bits of earthen wall and allow her eyes to wane over the proximity.

'seem empty, but i'll keep my wits about me....'

The girl said to herself inside the safety of her mind. There was nothing but a steel stairwell that led upwards. More than likely into another section. She stilled her breathing as she prepared to move out.

OOC: Sorry for the wait. Shouldn't happen again. This is going to be a short post anyway just to get you moving.

The caverns would echo with each footstep, yet not loud enough to invoke the guards. The Hozuki would find that she successfully traversed the dark caverns, eventually leading up to the steel stairwell where she now lay. The warehouse would be filled with shelves, each stacked to their limits with large cardboard cartons. There were, however, some cartons that were on the floor, seemingly tossed aside haphazardly and with their contents spilled. For the moment, only large amounts of documents seem to cover the floors, but upon inspection they would have no useful information.

Some places upon the ground, and even in the ceiling, were burned, charred, or just destroyed altogether. This was apparently the area of some small-scale battle, which may lead to more information of the dead informant. For now, the warehouse appeared to be empty. There is only one door, which leads directly to the outside. Besides this door, only the holes in the roof provide any sort of escape. Outside, the sounds of normal civilian livelihood can be heard. Despite the descriptions of the patrols always being around the grounds, it seemed to have a happy air to it. Upon exiting the warehouse, you will find that the tower shines brilliantly in the distance, but you are still a ways to go, considering all that you have to avoid on the way.

Before Masumi even dared to venture forth into the unknown she took a moment, her digits flicking through the plethora's of documents that littered the scarred ground. Her eyes hungrily fed upon the words, secrets and information they held. She'd store anything she found of value within her holster, rolling it so that it could fit.

Once that task was done she stood to her feet, her eyes looking forward as she prepared herself to move out. She could have chosen to exit through the door before her, but such an indiscreet method would prove against the circumstances in which she wished to complete her task. Taking a moment to absorb the scenery before her, large eyes raised themselves to the ceiling above where holes rested.

"Hmmm that seems like a smarter route to take."

With a quick bend of her knees Masumi utilized the old shelves to reach an high enough position. Skillfully with effort she scaled it and then onto the beams that sat horizontally suspended in air. With the finesse of a gymnast Masumi swung up, her hands tightly clenched over the shaft she pulled herself up,balancing upon the slender beam.

The amber rays from the sun gently speckled her body as she hoped up, and squeezed through an opening in the roof. Masumi could fee the cool breeze whipping at her face as the frivolous banter of citizens filled her ears. Being sure to keep a low profile Masumi crawled along the rooftop, chest and body sunk low.

Looking out Masumi could clearly see the happenings that took place below and above, being sure to stay out of cover Masumi had already utilized an Academy jutsu-although it wasn't something spectacular, but it'd get the job done. Under the guise of her technique and camouflage cloak Masumi safely surveyed around her, she'd make her next move soon enough after taking in the environment in full.

"She's on the move, sir."

The man had abruptly entered to deliver the news, bashing through the doors of the room to make his claim. He spoke directly to a certain person, sitting at the far end of the table, at the head. His throne was crafted of what was apparently gold. Layers upon layers of documents lay before him, and he was alone. His face was, as always, covered by a white mask, one that was completely blank and without expression. From his work he gazed to the Sensor before him, cocking his head slightly as he sighed briefly.

"Well, send her a welcoming party."

His voice was deep, and the tone and method of articulation demanded respect, as well as fear. His fingers tapped against the table, creating a fierce sound that echoed throughout the room. "Do tell me, what time is it?" The Sensor, already sweating from stress of being in his presence, quickly looked to the outside. "Around noon, sir." Leaning back in his golden throne, the masked man would bring a hand to his chin, lightly tapping upon the mask as he began to think.

"Team Three should suffice. Go on."

A quick bow, and the Sensor would disappear. He seemed to make a hurried exit; he knew the consequences of disturbing this particular man in his work. Thanking the Gods above in his survival, he passed down the tower, making off to unknown locations as the game was set into motion.

"I hope this one is more fun than the last four."

As Masumi gazed over the documents, she would find them to be nothing more than useless business records; old counts of the economy of this independent compound. The only useful information she might find were weapons information, but even that was only limited to kunai, shuriken, and senbon. Evidently, the people of this city were well armed judging by the numbers. With this task complete, she would move off to the holes of the warehouse, leaping onto the roof as the cloak covered her being. Directly before her would lay the tower, ever-gleaming in its brilliant glory.

Other than this, the normal constructions of a normal village would lay about. Countless homes and shops were strewn across the lands, and for the moment no guards could be seen. The people, however, all wore the same uniform. The symbol of this nation was planted everywhere; clothing, shops, houses, even painted onto the streets themselves. The faceless visage was haunting, in a way. As if this person was watching from everywhere at once. For the moment, no immediate danger presented itself, but not everything could end up so smoothly.

How would the girl continue her journey?

Ditching her guised cloak Masumi vanished with the sound of a passing breeze. Her movements brought her heels to the earthen floor of the compound sinner section, her goal laid in the distance, due north of her current position. Ducking and dodging the mere civilians would prove an easy task for a shinobi of Masumi's prowess and caliber.

However she wouldn't take these people lightly. Even if they were but civilians the documents she read over gave evidence that this compound, that this inner village was military oriented. As silent as the whispers of ghost. Skillfully Masumi stuck to the shadows, avoiding the gazes of the villagers who neared her.

Sneaking through the compound with brisk speeds she was sure to move carefully, her artful movements through it properly embellished what it meant to be a true ninja-a true agent of stealth. A roll brought Masumi to the edge of a building, back pressed against it as a man carrying supplies passed her. Peeking around she was ten meters from the tower. Looking around she sprinted around it avoiding the gazes of others.

Scaling the platform she made sure to look out for scrying eyes as she pulled herself into a open window where the gentle air seeped in. In the windowsill a winding staircase laid before her wrapping around for what Masumi thought multiple times, letting off room by room. With a low profile she took a moment to think things over before she treaded deeper.

The cries came up the moment the ninja started running through the streets. Her folly was in removing her cloak while still standing upon a rooftop, in plain sight despite the building being abandoned. Although her speed was undoubtedly greater than those civilians, it was not impossible to see the stranger running through the streets. People gasped, stared, pointed, but most importantly, people screamed. They knew, of course, that people of this village were obligated to wear these uniforms. They knew just as well that those who didn't wear uniforms were those who had someone broken into the compound, for uniforms were handed to those after body searches at the gates.

Yes, it was clear, this was indeed a foreigner; someone who had to be captured quickly in order to find their motives. While it was true that most were afraid of this being, there were those who knew the right thing to do. Men from all corners moved in, grabbing at the woman in an effort to bring her down. Some men would actually manage to catch her clothing, but at her speed she would easily slip away. However, it would slow her down considerably. Not that any of this would matter; the female would make it no more than thirty meters into her travels when she reached a large clearing, where the villagers had already cleared out.

The fireball came raining in from above, crackling with heat and burning bright as it descended to the earth below. It measured five meters in diameter, and with its current positioning would strike Masumi head-on. Even if it missed, the impact would create another explosion of the same size. The earth would burn and char in this location, leaving a mark of what was an obvious attack towards the female. From the direction that it came, three men stood, all dressed in shinobi uniforms bearing the symbol of the compound. A single voice boomed out over the clearing, and quickly the people closed themselves within their buildings, obviously filled with absolute terror. Whether it was towards the kunoichi or the three men would be unknown.

"Drop your guard and come with us. You won't make it past this point."

Description: Although basic, the fireball technique is nonetheless efficient and deadly. After forming the necessary handseals, the shinobi will expel a jet stream of fire from their mouth, which quickly forms into a large fireball. The user can fire this ball off in any direction they wish, resulting in a small explosion upon impact.

Found, Masumi instantly began avoiding the clambering hands of men that attempted to restrain her, however they'd find no success as Masumi's lithe body escaped contact. As she headed due north she made it roughly thirty yards, where the corners of her eyes caught sight of a flaring ember.

Within the clearing that was devoid of others except the village men that followed her they dared not advance their approaches as the fireball came hurtling down upon her very form. Extending her left palm the Royal guard seal would activate at the collision of the fireball to her palm.

Once it connected it would be reflected back upon it's caster as if by an unseen force just as the man began his speech. Masumi felt the taxing drain upon her body, but it wasn't enough to tire her out. As her hair whipped about from the searingly hot winds she stood, body limber as her right hand loosely hung over Kubikiri Tsurugi's hilt.

A cryptic, wry smile formed at her lips, curling them into a devious grin.

"Lets...test your assertion!"

Whilst speaking, she unsheathed the blade from its coating, light shimmered sporadically off its light speckled surface. Once it was completely revealed she rapidly spun it around her finger, the sword swinging wildly as she'd catch it in a reverse grip within her right palm.

Special: Highest jutsu rank determines deflection. Size matches whatever is being absorbed. Requires an amount of chakra/stamina equal to the reflected attack. Attacks greater in rank than the sealing will pass through and destroy the barrier with ease.
Description: A powerful defensive seal that allows the user to reflect any attack -- A Ninjutsu or Taijutsu -- aimed at them back at/onto its caster. Upon activation, any attack the seal comes into contact with is absorbed and then reflected back at its caster; the required chakra automatically being drained from the user. Ninjutsu are reflected back at the caster while physical attacks have the direct damage applied back onto its caster.
Domain: Universal Juuinjutsu. Must know Blocking Absorption Barrier.

Kubikiri Tsurugi {Lit: Beheading bayonet}

Description: Kubikiri Tsurugi, while not particularly long, is unusually wide and is completely hollow in the middle, essentially consisting of nothing more than the edges of what would otherwise be a normal sword. Its handle is purple and its guard is as wide as its blade, with three small holes on both respective sides.

It was a nifty little trick, her reflecting the fire ball at its caster. However, it was a trick nonetheless. If Masumi thought that it would do anything besides buy her a very minor, fleeting window of opportunity (which she did not use to her advantage), she was sadly mistaken. These ninjas had faced far more difficult challenges than some pathetic little girl, and after they'd dealt with her, they would face many more to come.

Though the fireball wasn't necessarily enormous, it was more than enough to block her point of view on her current three targets. It wouldn't have taken them long to realize it was being sent back at them, and when that happened, his little speech would've been cut off no later than. It was clear the girl had no interest in talking, and even if she did, it would be with jutsu and blades.

In the time it would've taken the sphere to reach the three ninja, and her to unsheathe her magnificent blade thereafter, they'd already vanished and repositioned themselves¹. Her fingers would've just been wrappin' around the hilt of her sword when the second of the three ninja appeared at her respective flank, fully equipped with two kunai grasped in a double-hold grip. If she continued with her initial motion, there would've been little to nothing she could to to evade the slash that would've completely severed her arm from her body.

Even if her body was made of water, losing a limb was never a good thing. It would've done more than set her behind in her plans, and definitely opened her up to a flurry of assaults that would follow.

As for the other two ninja, they'd taken refuge amongst the shadows and crowded streets, hidden completely from view.

¹Shunshin no Jutsu

It seemed Masumi wouldn't have time to properly draw her gorgeous blade, but than again did she need ti for the likes of such fools? Did they honestly think to contest her skills? As her opponent was brought before her via a body flicker. Would Masumi halt in her progression?

Nay! The kuani bore into her from and with it the opponents arm as she'd allowed her body to become malleable, causing his arms to press forward into her arm of water. It'd find nothing to cut.

At the moment the kuani and the mans hand pressed into her, he would find it stuck, and at that moment he'd find no escape and Masumi would in a quick flick draw the blade severing the mans head with the sharp edge of kubikiri tsurugi.

If successful she'd allow her body to take back its physical shape and than forming the hand-seal she'd close her eyes, and allow her minds of of ten meters to search for the others who had decided to lay in wait within the treacherous shadows.

"Now, now you guys should come out, its not nice to keep a woman waiting..."

If they were near her range she'd spot them and respond equally with force and as the same if she were to fall under attack by them.

Ultimate Hydration Technique (Suika no Jutsu)Rank: D, C, B, A, S

Special: Initial liquefaction lasts a single turn by default. All Hozuki are impervious to non-elemental physical strikes, but are susceptible to Raiton and Hyouton - lightning attacks place on them are raised by a single rank, and when struck by it, they are unable to liquefy properly, and finally, ice jutsu have twice the freezing capabilities when coming in contact with the Hozuki. Ranks 'D' and 'C' represent the ability to liquefy one and two limbs at a time respectively (be it arms or legs); 'B' rank represents torso; 'A' rank represents head liquidation; 'S' rank allows the user to liquefy all together any time they want. Finally, Hozuki are made of water, so they can use themselves as a base for all suiton based jutsu. Hydration rank also determines rank/level of suiton the Hozuki can birth from their body.
Description: The core technique behind the bloodlimit and the door to stronger, more powerful attacks, this jutsu allows the Hozuki to totally transform their body into a condensed state of water, so dense that the user can withstand even the roughest of physical attacks, yet so malleable that on a whim, they can also decompose into mere puddles. From a single hair to the skin and muscles, everything can be liquefied and solidified, be it to evade an enemy's attack during a short range battle, to infiltrate a structure, or to launch a surprise attack from a liquefied state Maintaining this form requires that the clan member keep themseves constantly hydrated, but in this form the can also draw upon and control nearby water by immersing and merging amongst the liquid. And best of all - by liquefying their whole body at will, it makes it impossible for the Hozuki to receive damage from physical attacks. When the user passes out, they turn into a jelly-like, dormant state until consciousness is regained.

Toro-Toro no Jutsu (Sticky Jelly Technique)

Special: Strength of absorbed attack depends on the Hozuki's highest 'Hydration' rank.
Description: As the Hozuki further their understanding of the control over their liquid essences, their skill in altering their density composition enhances. In this case, rather than simply breaking up into a puddle of water when being struck, the Hozuki learns to absorb the blow, increasing their watter pressure so that the weapon or limb is stuck within. To the opponent, it'll feel as if they had buried their weapon/hand in sloppy mud. By reforming around the impact point, they are able to trick their opponent into coming in for an obvious attack. From this point, they can finish their opponent off, or capture them for later use.

Unfortunately, the water-based shinobi had miscalculated her opponent's assault. Though her watery figure had, indeed, caught him off guard, she was foolish to believe his hands would be caught in her sticky little trap. For starters, his assault wasn't a stab - it was a slash (hence cutting the arm off, not skewering it), which meant they would not be going directly forward (which would yield the result she hoped for), but instead in a horizontally arc'd movement. And considering the position her arm would be, since she was initially reaching for her side, he wouldn't have come in contact with any other piece.

Therefore, she would only find the two kunai lodged in her body, halted in their slash. It took the assailing shinobi less than a second to notice the sudden change in her body, and without a moment's hesitation his grip was freed from his double-blades.

It shouldn't have been a surprise that he'd leap away after that, vanishing into the crowd as his two comrades had done merely a moment or two before he'd launched his assault. Perhaps she would be able to local them with whatever jutsu she'd prepared and used after that, but would she chance hurting the innocent people that they were using as living, breathing meat shields? They'd put her resolve to the test, for they surely cared not for the lives of these civilians.

How far was this woman willing to go for the power that she sought?

The kunai found themselves lodged within her arm, it was peculiar how his fingers evaded her sticky trap considering the shortness of his weapon an the force it'd take to mutilate a person, but that was a thought for another time when she'd be able to think without worry of attack. The time he would realized her body was made of water would prove far too late, Masumi would have reacted before he could have flee'd into the oblivious crowd about them.

That very moment he sought to escape wouldn't be so fast {nothing high speed was used } so she quickly shot forth the arm he'd thought to have made useless, kunai falling to the ground as they passed through the watery limb. Her hand took physicality as it'd seek to grab hold of her arm; roughly above his wrist.

If he thought to escape the vice-grip of her clutch he was foolish, in the motion of reaching her arm would have become engorged, and the power she'd be able to wield increasing drastically. If her hand was able to clutch the man she'd apply a most staggering force to it.

This action would give way to her drawing kubikiri tsurugi from her back by normal means and behead the man with her free hand. The drawing action would be concise, quick and clean.

If something is cut off than the intended attack will obviously not follow through unless it still yields the required parameters for it to unfold. Of course this does not apply to when I take damage and also the action must be able to be cut off if this is to happen.]

Special: On top of the technique's base rank damage, the boost adds additional damage equal to the Hozuki's highest 'Hydration' rank. Must learn for each limb. Pump-up lasts as long as the Hozuki's 'Liquefaction' limit.
Description: Using their ability to transform their body into water, the Hozuki will reform their limbs, be it arms or legs, into a more muscular form. The muscles of the arm are temporarily enlarged and strengthened by the moisture gathered from the whole body, and as it is compressed into the entire arm, it provides boosts equivalent to an instant pump-up. This stronger limb allows the clan member to deliver more powerful blows with either a weapon or taijutsu in conjunction with the boosted limb. However, because it is essential to properly control the moisture balance inside the body, this technique's degree of difficulty is very high. The trade off for such difficulty? The technique gives the user superhuman strength, capable of cutting through both rock walls and steel doors.

Splash! It wasn't the sound of water padding against the cobblestone road beneath their feet, but the blood of her first victim. The cut may have been clean and quick, however it would do little to stem to sudden spray of blood that erupted from the gaping neck wound. The head, spiraling in the air before landing brutally against the earth, created a brief makeshift downpour of rain upon all those within. Masumi's figured, at least for the moment, would be completely covered in a thick coat of red.

The death of their comrade didn't seem to bother the remaining two ninja, as they still hadn't revealed their locations. It was clear that they wouldn't be able to gain a leg-up in hand-to-hand combat, with her ability to phase in and out of solid stasis. They'd have to approach her cautiously, to which both prepared a technique^{1, 2}.
