Baby I know it's coming around, I'm totally upside down...
The sound of kunai burrowing into the basins of sturdy oaks reverberated throughout the forest's confines. They jutted outwards of the trees they'd penetrated, each skillfully hitting the sweet spot on the bullseye-the epicenter. A wry smirk found itself upon the blonds face as she studied her handy work, openly impressed with the increase of her own skill.
The night had just given birth to day, and upon this early morn where the sun's oblique rays of shimmering amber glared down with the intensity of one thousand stares, Masumi would train until her muscles were sore, the breath from her lungs taken, and until her very bones ached to their cores. Her resolve was bright, perhaps even morose than the light that speckled the earth below.
Immersed with the tune of nature Masumi stood in a wide clearing, however the large, extending branches of the surrounding tree's shielded it from the oppressive sun that hung high upon the azure sky. She was just upon the outskirts of her village, so should she over exert herself she could rely upon help arriving faster.
Masumi had already been at it for what could be no more than thirty minutes, she was simply honing the basics. Her hands reached into her holster with a trained touch, palming three kunai each that lay between her fingers. The muscles in her legs tensed as she exerted force to them. Kicking back, her eyes danced over her ascertained targets, whilst her heels dug into the earth below as she glided back.
Her arms crossed quickly as her head tilted down. With all the strength she could muster Masumi flung them outwards, releasing the kunai they hummed through the air like bee's floating over flowers on a fine spring day. Each possessed a different target, which were positioned at varying points that surrounded her.
Like an Lions claws piercing an Gazelles flesh the kunai pressed through their targets with veracity, a loud thwang rang for a quick moment. With a quick glance about her Masumi judged her work. She said nothing, but the look upon her stoic face, broke into a twisting grin. In a quick movement her hands darted for her kunai holster, grasping two she flung one, whilst aiming and throwing the other so that it changed her first kunai's trajectory.
The end result would be the first kunai being sent behind her at an angle with clang. It'd find itself lodged beside another, and the latter kunai she threw would be laying upon th earthen floor. Old thoughts of her Academy days before the war had consumed Masumi's thoughts. Those times back than were ones she wouldn't get back, the happiness before the war was a happiness long ago taken from her childhood."Times have certainly changed..."
