Deacan woke up and yawned, the mist obscuring the sunlight, but dispersing it as well, making the entire village light up in the morning. It was a beautiful thing to see a morning in Kirigakure. Deacan stood up and grabbed a small meal from his counter. It wasn't much, but it was high in nutrients and medium in calories, making it good for a ninja that was always walking around. Decan looked through his shelf before realizing his food had ran out. It wasn't uncommon since he didn't really stock up on food. It was mostly dried things so that, even if he wasn't home for awhile, he wouldn't need to worry about it spoiling.
Deacan sighed and put on his jumpsuit and cloak. He put on both of his senbon launcher and loaded them, slowly. He put each needle in one at a time and filled up both of the launchers. He exited his house and closed the door. He had little to steal and he trusted most people in Kirigakure, so he found no reason to lock his doors or even make sure they were shut. He walked out onto the street, his hair hanging down his back and showing his lineage, blatantly. His hair blew in the wind a bit as he moved through the village. He wasn't in much of a rush and was checking to see if people were doing well. It was a habit of his, and he had a few others as well.
While walking through the village, he entered a small house on the edge of the water. Inside was an old man that Deacan visited rather often. He had a respect for his elders that he felt was slowly being lost in his generation, but that wouldn't change him. He breathed in as a green light enveloped his hands. He looked at the old man as he slowly set his hands on him. It wouldn't be for long, but he could help the man breathe better and with less stress for as long as he held his hands there, which was usually about 8 seconds. It also had the added effect of cleansing the man's lungs. This gave Deacan a good bit of intelligence about his own technique. He watched the old man's chest heave up and down, but get much gentler as the man was able to take deeper and longer breaths. It was interesting to see how the jutsu affected the old man. The cleansing effect was also quite useful, but the ease of breathing and more rapid breathing was what Deacan truly thought was useful. It gave a person with bad lungs the ability to breathe twice as good, and that was almost constant.
"That should feel better, Elder."
Deacan didn't even know the man's name after coming here day after day. To Deacan, it was another way to test on a live subject, and better yet, one that was in bad condition. Fixing a normal, healthy ninja is easy, but regulating your chakra so you don't harm a frail and non-trained old man was much more precise. It took awhile of practicing on others before he was able to control his chakra to the level he felt was right. Since then, he came day after day to keep his skills up, even if it was just this one jutsu.
"Thank... You." The old man smiled at Deacan as Deacan stood up and began to walk away. It was interesting to Deacan that people thanked him for using them as test subjects, though it did make it easier to practice. Deacan started off towards the tower. Before entering, he removed his senbon launchers and affixed his radio. He gave the launchers to some nearby guards. He walked into the mission room and grabbed the scroll, not so much as looking at the people who gave the mission to him. He opened the scroll and read it.
"I will be at the entrance. Send my partner there." Deacan knew that they weren't at fault for sending so many ninja to their death or sending them forwards as tools of death, but he still didn't like the idea. He knew where he was going to go afterwards, and now he just needed to wait for his partner.
