The Case of the Skipping Runt! [Open to Genin]

Mission info: Young academy student Ko has skipped class yet again and is out lallygagging around the village. As a shinobi it is your mission to find and return him to the Academy. Force is allowable if he chooses to run, however capture Ko without hurting him. Ask villagers to discover his last known location.

Kirigakure mornings could get chilly, especially with the mist that enshrouded the buildings and the natives. The mission had been offered to a group of Genin including the over-eager Miu. She had shown up early that morning dressed for a mission and was glad she thought about wearing long sleeves. The morning air drew a shudder from the fourteen-year-old who instinctively wrapped her arms around her body.

The first stop had been the obvious place to start: the Academy. They needed a description of the child before they could do anything followed by a few ideas of where to look from his teacher. Now, she and her group were trying to figure out which direction he'd gone. The teacher had released his hunches were anything to do with food, back alleys, or training grounds. Miu-chan had decided to check around the village in general in case the little squirt had been trying to hide from everyone.

A woman outside her shop was carrying out a pile of books to the discount table just in front of her window. Miu took a look around the street and decided she was the best person to ask. Quickly, the small shinobi darted towards the woman and gave a polite bow.

"Good morning," she smiled and raised back up. "Have you seen a little boy running around here this morning? He's about this tall--" (Miu held her hand up evenly with her abdomen to demonstrate his size) "and he has blonde hair. He was last seen wearing a brown shirt with a red frowny face. Have you seen him?"

Saburo yawned as the early morning air grew warmer. He had been up pretty early that day. His reasoning behind it was doing some missions. There were usually more than enough Genin wanting to take on a mission, and being there early than everyone else meant you could pick from almost anything available. The mist had descended down upon the village, as it always did in the mornings. During the day, however, it usually kept to just hanging around outside gates. Saburo studied his new mission leaflet as he strolled down the street. Something about an academy student skipping class? What a brat. He probably didn't know it yet, but the little runt needed all the education he could get.

Saburo then tried to think of a plan of action. The most obvious idea that popped into his head was going to the academy, and asking around a little. Deciding that's what he would do, Saburo pocketed the mission leaflet and picked up his pace a little. He didn't really feel like jumping around all that much, so he just stayed at street-level. Travelling at a leisurely pace Saburo couldn't help but notice passing a Genin around his age. She was wearing a long-sleeved outfit and looking all pretty and stuff. As Saburo stared at her, he completely forgot about the fact that he was still walking. With a loud thud, his face came in contact with a metal pole. Saburo staggered back a bit, surprised by the sudden wake up call.

The girl was asking around for something. Saburo didn't really know what, but seeing as she probably saw his run-in with the pole, he decided it would be a good idea to talk to her. With his hands in his pockets, Saburo would walk up to the girl and smile. "H-Hi!" He would say to her, his face already blushing. "I-I see you're looking for something. C-can I help?" said Saburo. Usually he was an incredibly confident person, but when it came to talking to girls, he sucked. The girl was a Genin, so maybe she was on a mission too. Either way, Saburo wasn't really expecting anything from her, maybe a bit of a laugh at his clumsiness.

[Sorry, I was waiting on a friend to post, but since he hasn't, I'll go ahead.]

The kunoichi turned just in time to see the boy face-plow into a pole. She couldn't help but giggle at the sight of him staggering around. He approached her afterwards with his hands in his pockets. She was surprised, however, when he stuttered. The boy had seemed confident until he said something to her. Just to put him on the right track, Miu gave him a smile.

"Good morning," she greeted him cheerfully. "Actually, I'm on a mission."

The petite girl reached in to her bag and pulled out a piece of parchment that detailed her mission. Here and there on the sides were scribbles in her own hand-writing. They were notes detailing his description, possible places he could be lurking, and extra tidbits of information she received from his teacher. She held up the parchment and showed it to him.

"The Academy reported a student that skips class so I'm checking around for him. Have you seen him?"

He could help her if he had seen the boy. Other than that, she really didn't think a boy as cool-looking as him would have time for helping her. She hoped for it, but that was the girl in her daydreaming about what it would be like to have a guy like him as her boyfriend.

I found myself moving through the village as I passed by the academy. My mind was blank and it had been so for awhile. Lost in my mind as I always found myself as of lately. Simply wondering what was going on in the village, but then again it's movements were of no concern. These asphalt hues absorbed all that were within my path and as I continued to stride through the streets. I began to hear two others discussing something about a rebel running loose.

Oh! How my heart literally began to speed up with adrenaline. It was pumping and my body called for me to bound forth while taking the challenge head on. Looking over towards the two that was discussing the situation, I found myself moving towards them. No audible noise escaping my visage as I moved with purpose. Stopping when I closed the gap between myself the two other shinobi that stood there. My eyes fell on them, but the glare they would receive told them i wasn't here for friendly conversation. Rather I was here for action.

"So whose this rebel?"

That was all the dialogue they could expect out of me. For now I awaited their response and reaction to my presence. One that made others wary of my presence. Sometimes causing mass paranoia, but this time I sought to utilize my skills and my had it been a very long time since I got to let loose. Perhaps, these two would be the ones to lead me to adventures beyond my wildest imagination, but for now I waited...and how I just loved waiting...
