The sun beat down upon the landscape, which was only routine for the forsaken terrain located within the boundaries of Kaze no Kuni. Rain and vegetation were largely foreign concepts to shinobi raised in the Hidden Sand, or at least, that is what Oni considered the truth. Normally he didn't pay much attention to the things surrounding him but he'd taken notice of the barren formations of rock that littered the dunes for miles around. If it wasn't for the fact that he waiting on someone to answer an ad from the newspaper about a spar he might not have been so observant. To the best of his knowledge no one in the village had even seen him fight before, so someone should have been brave enough to take him on, and his eyes scanned the horizon in search of anyone that might attempt to prove that hypothesis.
The call of a lone raven sent his gaze skyward as he sought the origin of the cawing sprite. He was almost amazed that any animals actually chose to live in such a horrid place but they probably were only drawn by the horrid people. Oni had never met another human being that he'd liked and that went double for Sunagakure shinobi. They were usually too stubborn and simple-minded for Oni to even bother trying to carry on a decent conversation. Stories had begun to circulate that a giant, standing well over six feet, carrying a terrifying sword was camped out near the Sandi Airando, and he rumors explained that he would challenge anyone travelling by to a match.
Hikari stood with his back to the sun and his eyes pointed up.
