Journey into Earth Country [closed]

"Touch down!" Shizuka exclaimed as her left foot met the docks of Tsuchi no kuni. This port didn't seem to be heavily watched despite the fact that it connected to Kaminari and Waterfall. Regardless, Shizuka pumped both arms into the air, "...FINALLY!" she then began to run across the docks, looking to the left as she saw the beach and it's interesting brown hues. Once she crossed the docks she then walked along the edge of the barren earth, making sure to avoid walking along the sand. It seemed rather...soggy, was it possible the tide came up that far?

"Y'know...this place is kinda...boring." the young Raiden had a slight frown across her features. Her nose scrunched slightly as she took a good hard look at her surroundings. There was mountains within the horizons and barren earth as far as the eye could see. Thankfully there seemed to be a man-made walkway. Thus she rested her right arm along her right hip, her left hand relaxed at her side. She waited for her nakama to exit their boat. The ferry man didn't seem to be in a hurry to get back, though it was possible he was just patient. Truthfully he seemed like a kind old man, she didn't want Echiro blowing up on him, which she was sure Kaoru would feel the same.

"Hmm this land was created with a limited pallete." yet as the raven haired maiden glanced at her surroundings, her perhiperal vision was keeping an eye on the boat. Latent curiosity made her wonder whom would follow her off first. "I bet Echiro's dying to get off that boat." thus the quick transition to her next line. "Hey Ei-kun, this place really suits you, nice and dry." Shizuka was teasing because she knew of Echiro's dislike for water but in her own way, she was just checking to make sure he was okay.

The next thing which came to Shizuka's mind was "...what's next, hmm." Truthfully, the one concern on her mind was the treasury. The group had a combined budget, which then split into allowances. They received a pretty generous allowance in this case because they'd done some good jobs lately. What was this group? They were just a bunch of orphans working for hire. They did odd jobs but recently their "strength" had been comissioned for pay. Still, with the way this group spent their money..."Definitely have to get us going on some new jobs soon, honestly these guys just spend money because to them, spending time is hopeless." that last thought caused her to sigh loudly, things didn't seem good.

This ride along these waters had went on for far too long. Luckily the only thing that kept me awfully calm for my dislike towards any water was my lovely cannabis. Its lovely aroma filling the air around me, while applying its mind altering effects to my mind. Seemingly freeing my scalp a puff at a time, but it would only keep me under a more controlled state. Not allowing me to fret and panic over the surrounding area around me. The rest of the crew as with us and this ferry man was definitely taking his time. Slightly pissing me off, but all the same nothing could amount to Shizu's pattering amongst the vessel's deck. “Why won't she just be quiet for a change?” This thought had crossed my mind on several occasions during this vile trip. Nonetheless she would be the one to notify us of our arrival to our destination.

Glancing around me from my seated position my eyes would seek to find the others amongst the ferry. Surely this was someone's favorite place to be around the waters. That was definitely a reference towards his nakama, Kaoru. She was possibly the most dangerous at least that’s what I had found out during my time of stay in the orphanage with her. The most dangerous at least to me and my special abilities that came with inheriting the blood of a Airontoku. Thus, that didn't suit well with me absolutely having to travel across this large body of water either. “What was these people thinking?” Still, I digress. There wasn't much we could do after all we were definitely making a very long and adventurous journey. Finally, she would give word of us arriving at our location. My optics would aim forward and spot our destination. Rocks? That’s all I saw was a mountainous terrain full of boulders and such. Increasing my attention more was the fact of how slow this man began to dock as we arrived at the pier.

”Tch...Damn right it does! Now lets get the hell off this boat. We got things to do and people to see,” my words came freely and showing signs of leadership within my tone. Perhaps, the same leadership that caused everyone else to abandon that orphanage along with me. My needed push to forge my own path was a long one, but that tale will be revealed fairly soon enough amongst this journey. The war caused a lot of grief to a lot of people, but those corrupt officials that run these individual countries would most likely be in store for a serious awakening. That was if they got in my way, still the first one to be on his way off the deck was none other than myself. I wouldn't waste no more time upon this crappy ass boat. It was now time for me to move forth towards tomorrow and not the past. The orphanage was nothing more than my past. This was my now and my life is my tomorrow.

A Ship of Fools..

The ebony haired female was probably the only one of the group who actually loved water; it calmed her, which gave way to why her jutsus were suiton based. (Though, there were other reasons why, but she didn't make them known). Sitting in the back of the boat near the ferryman, who was kind enough to ferry all of them across. Along the journey, Kaoru remained pretty quite, staring at the water as they sailed by. Times like this, when they weren't doing much Ka-chan, the eldest of the group had a lot of time to think. And, it wasn't particularly good. Her thoughts could get her into trouble with herself, especially if there was doubt. But, when she was around these four, there was no room for doubt. Doubt led to not being strong and she had a responsibility to protect them. And, she felt this journey was a step in the right direction; a more towards an inner meaning.

Lost in thought, the female was interrupted by her nakama, Shizu, shouting as she set foot on the docks of Tsuchi no Kuni. She just smiled quietly to herself, to her the sail here had not been long at all, but for some of the others she knew they wouldn't feel the same. Especially Eichiro. The moment he stepped on the ferry she had heard his detest towards traveling on water. And the change of scenery seemed to brighten his spirits as he stepped off of the boat, onto the nice, dry dock. But, for the water user this sort of terrain would meet her at a disadvantage for there might not be an abundance of water here. Taking one last look at her reflection, she stepped onto the deck after Eichiro. Grinning she said, "But, alas, not all places fit just about everyone," And it was true. Water suited her, while dry places fit Eichiro. But, for the others, they were probably somewhere in between.

Turning towards the ferryman she gave him a small smile of gratitude, then handed him a piece of ryo as a sort of tip. Nodding she followed behind Eichiro, raising her head to look at the scenery before them. It was not her usual lick of the mill, but it would do. As long as she had her guord, she wasn't totally at a disadvantage. Calmly she followed, eventually almost walking along side the flame of the group. "Don't judge by just looks, Shizu-chan. If you find the underbelly of something, it may seem better than the front of it." she stated, ever so wisely. Her wiseness was something she had gained from a friend, a mentor. "Evidently you can even find its weakness, or its strength,"

Her eyes seemed warm against the orange, yellow hue of the scenery. She couldn't help but give a small smile. She remembered when they had all set out, and now they were here in the land of earth. Somewhere where she normally wouldn't have been seen, considering. But, she tried to look at the good of things, the so called bright side. In a place so dry, she could maybe enhance her tactics, without using that much water. But, they mightn't get the chance to fight here. Jobs were hard to come by and lately their purse had dwindled some; but it wasn't always a bad thing.

Truer words never been spoken in fact it was all due to patience that the ronin was lucky to stumble into this chance to talk the group into using the ferry to travel to this rough country it was a rather interesting journey across the waters, but much preferred over walking the distance, but what made his entire voyage worth it was watching the ever so pissed off face of Ei-chan who watched the waters in annoyance that it did nothing, but bring smiles to the face of this Samurai.

Adjusting his gaze from time to time his attention more focused on the sky. A bad habit?.. Yes, yes it was, but he enjoyed it. Chance for the thoughts of one of the eldest travelers under Karou. What were they going to do for money? Of course they could always take that furnace to the nearest bath-house and work over a scheme, fresh water could be something these people desired. With that thought a sharp glance zoomed in on Karou’s gourd. “Check.”

Mura’s scheming was brought to an end by the loudness of Shizu who just had to inform the entire world of they’re arrival as if none of them could see it, damn she just had to be loud at the wrong times if he had been stuck with the hangover he started with a battle just might of broke out, but instead a pleasant smile crept back on his face when that Ei-chan scurried off the boat. “C

[/I]ute.” were his first thoughts when he witnessed his hurry. Sadly the ronin had to stand up from his position by Karou and dust the chips of wood from his white Haori and Hakama pants combo, making sure that black Obi-series was still in place as was Aniki and the other gadgets he loved so dearly.

The item and appearance check ended rather quickly, it was just in time though since the good ferry-man pulled out his stash of sake and poured himself and Mura a quick glass a smile across his face as he spoke words of happiness ‘I’m so glad I could give that young man his first boat ride. He seemed to enjoyed it!’ followed by laughter he even commented on the one Ryo his dear sister had paid with. “Thank you ferry-master my dear little brother will surely remember his first ever Ferry ride across these waters, I could tell from his face he was so pleased!” In no way was his smile forced like his hair the personality of this ronin was black & white.

Nothing more to say, but take those shots of sake and make an exit from the boat peacefully unlike the first two, but he had caught onto the words of the others, but the one whose words stuck in his mind were of course Karou Onee-san’s who spoke of strength and weaknesses, ever so slyly did this man slide past the two younger siblings and wrapped his arm along her waist playfully leaning over and placing his head onto her neck. “Dear sister your younger brother is becoming more curious of what his strengths may be, of course so he could find his sisters weaknesses shouldn’t we work Together?” His sapphire gaze did chance from her face to the landscape taking in the views… Pretty in its own depressing, hellish way, but this was there new home... Of course Ei-kun wanted to get off the boat as quickly as he could. Getting off after I did, it was then followed by Ka-chan and Mura-niisan respectively. Mother always had words of advice, wise beyond her years and yet...she wasn't a mother at all! Shizuka couldn't help but raise her left eyebrow based on her statement, which was then followed by Mura-niisan, looking to get close to Ka-chan. "As transparent as ever." the Raiden mused but it's not like Kaoru was wrong. The place couldn't be judged so quickly. They needed to explore it and discover the strengths and weaknesses. They were on an adventure now, this is how life was going to be. With that thought, the Raiden smiled a bit.

"Well you know Mura-niisan, I don't think you need Mother telling you these secrets when you've got two eyes to see them clearly. The Earth country has a very solid terrain, rich in raw materials of the earth. It's no wonder famous artisans come from this place but I'm not so sure how good their colour composition is." Shizuka mused, seemingly trolling as the others would say.

"Well, let's just have a look at the map for now, to get a full understanding of the borders before we continue. I'm sure we've got plenty of supplies to last four or five days of exploring." Eichiro did want to get on to the meat of things, that much she was sure about. Considering he held the world map, he'd have to continue to show his leadership by pulling it out. There were things they needed to get in motion, such as travel formation and what kinds of things they even wanted to do in this land. Thankfully the Raiden was blessed in the arts of chakra manipulation, thus she could act as a scout for their party. "Though I'll never become a ninja, my heart is that of a Samurai, even if I'm not officially recognized." she alluded to the Samurai traditions, such as the seal and their lack of ninjutsu skills.

There we were once again upon the hardened grounds of Tsuchi no Kuni. My eyes locked on the horizon before me as a small gust would grace our bodies cooling them down for, but a moment. My visage was graced with a beautiful breeze alas the white hair spiky hair flowing with the very winds themselves. This was indeed a unusual day, but alas new terrain was discovered on our part and with that said, the trek would begin on that eve. Rest would of course be needed at some point, but right now the main goal was to cover as much ground as possible. That being exactly what would possibly be needed for someone who had to coupe with their discomfort towards boats and large pools of water. It felt as though his being had fell deep within the fabric of space and gravity rushed in like water...The green eye and red eye of my, Airontoku bloodline were half breed. Thus, his green eye was that from his mother who he hasn't seen since he was little. His red eye that was a natural occurrence within the Airontoku bloodline was following behind Shizu and Kaoru.

Then there he was, Mura placing his hands all over Kaoru. Sadly, it iwas time for us to begin this journey. Where would we stop? That was something left up to our so called navigator which was none other than Shizuka. I would notice Mura and he seemed to enjoy feeling up these said females within our lands. Moving amongst the lands and passing throughout the very vast boulders areas. My countenance told of one story and that story was not a very calm one. With my stomping forth I would surpass the entire group, with map in hand. It seemed I wasn't going to be pussyfooting around at this moment. I felt this compelling drive that yearned for adventure and thus I sought to see it through. This was definitely the beginning of a long journey, but alas we had arrived in Tsuchi no Kuni away from the Land of Iron. Today was a good day, but something of course could always brighten the day up a bit more. With that being said, my character just ventured forth while the others would surely follow. No sentences only two words...and they had a sense of business behind them, “Lets move!”

"Silly fools.."

Surprised by Mura-otōto, who encased his arm around her waist and playfully leaned his head against her shoulder. Her first reaction was to stop a bit, adverting her eyes over to him, curiously. Red-liquid eyes met sapphire orbs as she did, listening to what he had to say. Wanting to hear some of her advise to him. She gave a sort of roll of the eyes; though she was glad that Mura-chan appreciated her wiseness. About to answer, she was interrupted by her Imouto, who practically answered for her. "What Shizu-chan is true, however, you are probably already aware of your strengths, so it would be counterproductive to tell you as such," she said to him, then moved away from him towards the beginning of the dock, which she seemed to do just as Eichi-chan let them know of the business they had to conduct; which was to move out.

Kaoru looked behind her at Mura-masa and said, "However, if you are truly blind to your strengths, let me know if you ever want me to teach you," however, it was pretty useless to incline that towards Muramasa-chan, for her probably already knew of his weaknesses; deep down. Everyone knew their capacities, they just weren't readily aware of them. Like, it was locked inside of them and might awaken when they greatly needed it. Ka-chan rarely ever made her strengths known to others, as well as her weaknesses, because then it would greatly hinder her for her strengths were her weakness. And her weakness was her strength.

She walked besides her sister Shizu, "You and Eichi should be in the front," granted Shizu had the ability to be a sort of scout for them and Eichiro-chan held the map that would be of great use to them in this yellow wasteland, that as Shizu pointed out didn't have much of variety in color. She then smiled at her little sister, tilting her head some. This 'adventure' of theirs would be fun, whether it was filled with trolling, or if they were attacked, the group would always have fun no matter what. And one had to had a lot of tolerance to be in such a group, which the wisest of them held. She then looked up into the sky at the cloudless sky; she would not see any rain for awhile. Yet, there seemed to be no real worries on the Mist's mind; for she was with people she cared about, that would protect her and she would protect them. Nothing could stand in their way, not even water or lack therefore of.

A sigh worked its way from the gut of Mura and roughly collided with the country air. The thought of being blown off by Kaoru had burned the samurai’s motivation. ”Damn kids.” Sapphires turned towards the brat: Ei-chan who must have been really feeling himself now considering he begun to bark out orders, but even the girls started to go along with him. Overall it left the ronin with no choice, but to withdraw the Tracker from his obi and placed the odd device on his left eye taking a look at the world in a whole new way.

“Ei-chan can you even read a map?” curious words for the man to answer. If he was any good at it then would they of ended up taking the boat that he hated so much? Or was it that Mura was actually that convincing? Either way his feel rolled quickly against that rough earth to catch up to Kaoru and Shizu nodding his head at the words of the eldest traveler. “I agree, you two are the best for being at the lead right now.”

Shizuka couldn't help but giggle, even if it was just slightly to herself. Of course Kaoru would blow the ronin off, though it was a bit surprising that Ei-kun didn't make more of a fuss. He moved swiftly past them, issuing out a simple order. Shizuka nodded her head to this and moved on ahead before Kaoru caught up to her. It was true that Ei-kun possesed the map for this group, but as she woke with her older sister, she knew that Muramasa had his tracker. This would keep him closer to the back, in order to watch there back and keep tabs further ahead of them.

Deep down she was relieved that the group had the tools they needed. The feeling of adventure finally overcame her but she did feel odd about the ronin and her elder sister's acknowledgement about her being at the front with Eichiro. "Do they...know? Nah that's impossible." though her thoughts were quickly averted, she wouldn't think on it too further, less her eyes and expression betray her. Instead she moved to Eichiro's right side. Forming a few handseals, she'd be prepared to track any chakra signatures within her range.

"Be my eyes for me, Ei-kun."
Unlike Muramasa who doubted Eichiro's ability to read the map, she wouldn't have let him be the one to obtain it if he didn't. As for where they would start their exploration, that was up to the leader of the pack.

My figure moving across the land in what seemed a fast pace, but a sloppy one as well. I knew how to read maps, but at this point there was something I needed to do. My body seemed to be driven by its own ambitions, but even so I began to wonder how things were truly going on amongst this place. Our duty was to find Iwagakure, but my mind was clouded with a few things that bothered him. That was how some of these people seemed to lack the drive that carried him forward. My mission wasn't clear just yet. Although I was hoping to find a answer within at least one of these villages. If it weren't one to satisfy my needs then I guess I would become even more so what I was in the Land of Iron. Nonetheless, this world was quite different from the one back home and thus we needed to be mentally prepared for what lies ahead.

“What do you think, dumbass!” Would be the response that would grace Mura's very own ears. He always had this thing about trying to shoot jokes off towards me and my fiery persona. Little did he know if time gave me the chance I would place him under a molten grave. Full of my personal batch of youton that would scar him for life, but alas I notice someone approaching my position. It was none other than that damn troll. I wonder what the hell did Shizuka want with me this time. She always seem to have something smart or silly ideas planned out, but I must digress this was my family. The only one that resembled some sort of quietness was none other than Kaoru. She held her opinions to herself unless she felt they were needed and she gained my respect from that.

“Your eyes? What the hell are you talking bout? Goddammit...fine,” I couldn't just say no to her. She did after all accompany me on this journey without even questioning my intentions. There was still something I would be looking for, but I don't think I would have made it all on my own. Hence why this crew was gathered and now we're out looking for work as a group for hire. Should I say Orphans For Hire? We were here for work, but that wouldn't be all. Sooner or later the true intentions that came with my rebellion from the orphanage would have to come to fruition someday. Rather it be sooner than later, but for now I lust for life a free one.

"Behind this smile I hide.."

Kaoru walked alongside the samurai in their group, plainly looking ahead. Her posture was strong but not overwhelming. Her hands her folded behind her, almost formally. Her eyes care-freely looked ahead, not at all seeming alarmed but she seemed pretty easy granted that they were walking into unknown territory. She wasn't afraid at all,she was with family and had great faith in their abilities as well as her own (even if she was at a disadvantage in this dry land, she would compensate somehow). She looked up at the sky, raising her hand to her forehead to block the sun from her view. In the sky she saw a bird fly over their heads, some distance high. It was practically almost a dot in the sky.

Walking she knew that their "leader", even though she was the oldest, knew where he was going even if he seemed to make no attempt to look at the map he carried. Perhaps he had already looked at it? She shrugged off the thought and let a smile grace her features. Did it really matter where they were going? She supposed not. As long as they were going somewhere and were free. Ka-chan felt relaxed; that she went to the extent of relaxing her arms behind her head, staring at the sky. She closed her eyes briefly then looked over at Mura-chan."Ya know, I didn't mean anything personal by shruggin' you off like that Mur-chan," she smiled over at her younger brother. She just didn't like the idea of being hit on, even if her brother didn't really intent it that way. She supposed she just wasn't used to others hanging over her, touching her. She could be a bit touchy, even if she didn't really show it. Suppose it was because of her sketchy past and being isolated like she had been.

Mura-chan and Kaoru trailed a few feet behind Shizu and Eichiro, a sort of formation you could say. If one of the two groups got attacked the others would have enough time to react, granted they weren't ambushed. Kaoru looked away from the younger ronin and continued to casually look ahead.

I found myself not caring to listen to the replies of his ‘family’ as surely some would reply to him, instead those eyes of his only focused on what was ahead of him the earth country. The siblings knew about hidden villages, but not their locations afterall I always thought they were a bit different from me, even Shizu-chan was rather confident in what she was doing.

Thinking back on it now I wouldn’t of been in this country if not for that boy Ei-chan who felt the need to take off from the orphanage claiming he had something he wanted out in this world; probably something naïve like freedom, heh I think that fits him perfectly well. With his sudden outburst of enthusiasm it didn’t take long for the others to begin to worry about him.

I turned my gaze to Kaoru as she begun speaking to me, but the proper response I wanted to give clung to the tip of my tongue not wanting to exit, a burst of my pride and emotion that refused to show itself only left me staring into her eyes star struck while Aniki’s voice rang through deafening ears, a simple nod was returned to her words no where near close to what I truly wanted to say instead all I could do was start to wonder what our family would do for the money to survive… In this country, I begun to think of only the village that was hidden somewhere in this rocky mess that would be able to provide sufficient funds

"Fuck. I'm late."

My stance deepened on my board in order to gain more speed, yet my eyes were already watering from what I was attaining. The ice beneath my feet barely even touched the ground at this point; a few skids and I would be in the air for moments at a time. Wind rippling through my hair, my clothes, even causing my cheeks to move, I was moving at a pretty decent pace. Still, it was obviously not enough to have stayed with the group. I'd fallen back, and now I was lost, to say the least. To wake up in this world with only them and nothing else, I'd rather not lose it. Not in such a stupid travel.

That was when the red jacket, shining bright, came into view. My eyes widened as I spotted the others, and again I lowered my stance. I practically sat upon this board, hurtling at speeds unknown to man. The only problem was I had no fashion of properly breaking. Closing in on them by the second, I kicked my back foot forward, causing the board to become horizontal as compared to the direction I was moving. The screech echoed throughout the air as the ice cracked against the earth. I could feel it melting, breaking, dissipating with the friction and force as I came to my halt. By the time I had arrived, all that was left were two small blocks upon my feet, and even then that was barely strong enough to hold together for another five seconds.

Slowly catching my breath as I literally came to stop right next to my brother, I looked up and smiled at them. "Sorry I'm late!"

OOC: And sorry for the absolutely shitty post. I didn't feel like reading everything that's happened until now right before this post so I didn't have much to really write about xD. It'll get better, promise!

So the group had been walking along the pathways of the Earth Country. Truth be told, this pathway was a bit more desolate, as if travelers didn't come to this country via Waterfall anymore. No doubt, they tried to get here by rain, grass, or wind. That didn't deter my focus, I walked casually by Ei-kun's side. The moment a certain icy snowboarder came into my range, I opened my eyes and turned to Ei-kun's direction. I heard his appology and honestly saw myself frowning, I wasn't even sure---oh er well that's a lie. I was frowing because I was hoping to continue walking with Ei-kun alone.

"Geez, I thought you'd be staying behind...doesn't the snowy weather of Iron country suit you better?" This was Ei-kun's half brother, one whom was legitimately family, my blood with our reckless leader. They contrasted each other so much, personality, abilities, polar opposites in every way. I tilted my head and decided to step back a bit, letting the two have some space.

"Well an extra hand for finding work is good I suppose, even if too many chef's spoil the broth. So, let's do our best together and start on the road." I'd point to a sign not too far off, it was a main road heading to the capital, not exactly this nation's military village but if we were going to do any serious searching, that was the answer.

The further we journeyed through this foreign land the clearer the name Tsuchi no Kuni stood out to me. It was truly the Land of Stone. The landscape varied in different shapes and sizes from pebbles to boulders. Luckily for me these parts were supposed to harbor something akin to my abilities amongst these parts. Continuing our travels as we would this time devoid of interruption or so I thought. There was the sound of something skidding amongst the very grounds, but then after it came up on my side. My first instinct would be to extend a outstretched arm for the speed of my foolish brother traveled would bring him into my bicep. Then again I would move my arm before it was too late and then turn towards him.

“Good to see you finally caught up. Damn...what took you so long,” I would ask as my brows furrowed and I looked at my brother. My chakra was flaring for a moment mainly because I thought of the surprise attack that could possibly occur, but then when it revealed my brother to me. My actions would suggest a nod of approval to him and the others. Surely, they had remembered Makaze. If two took a look at us both they would see that we were two people from two completely different realms, but alas we were brothers nonetheless. His icy exterior and my very flammable self would surely bring some comedic scenes to this group, but nonetheless Shizuka always had her choice of words...After all she was a troll to be honest.

“The capital? I'm sure we could make a stop there. We could also restock on some items as well,” that was all I would say to end this conversation. There was nothing more I needed to say, but I had to ask Makaze one more thing. With us trekking towards the capital now and our final member joining our band. The Orphans For Hire were on the move once more, but this time it would be with a determination like no other. Looking around at the area, seeking a sign of us closing in on the capital. Within me there was this feeling of unease, but I wasn't too sure. Perhaps, it had something to do with what I would discover amongst our trips within the mainlands. Only time would tell and with that we'll continue towards the capital and then my words would reach my brother's ears, “Don't die on me. At least not until I send you there myself, brother.” My dialogue was cold, but at the same time loving.
