Streets that were once filled with the laughter and chatter of their natives were now set ablaze. Blood ran freely from many of the ninjas that had already fallen, and even more so from the innocents caught in the crossfire.

Bakudon Gai had very hastily become an urban battlefield; it was the perfect stage to announce the ending of all things.

[Thread Theme - Beginning of the End]

By the Nine Divine. . .this is madness.

With Ue bolting forward at level best speeds after having removed his presence from the examination rooms, his dash continued, carrying him swiftly - westbound. Ue ripped across the terra firma under his quick dash, using only his toes to further spring him forward and cause him greater speed whilst less weight meets the floor in each step. The tensing on his calves was due to his running style and allowed him a small leap every few steps as he took his leave from this underground cove like area in which the examinations had taken place. His satiny brown hair swayed resplendently, swing to and fro as his arms were loosely elongated behind his frontally careening torso.

("Tch, this isn't good at all. Nothing good can become of a explosion of that magnitude. Someone is obviously trying to do some damage with ill intentions, but whom? Perhaps its an invasion, from Iwagakure's enemy force, and we're haplessly caught in the middle of it. Nevertheless, the innocent slaugh-")

As Ue's shinobi dash carried him into the western districts of Bakugon Gai, everything around him seemed to have just stopped alltogether. His dash met a premature end as did his thoughts. Limp, lifeless arms swung forward from the force of his sudden stop as his eyes widened to the destruction that laid before his pitch dark pools.

DESTRUCTION

His eyes, brimming with an assortment of emotions as he looked upon a charred and burned city with the tarrying, fading cries of women and children being burned alive or trying to escape with their lives. It was a sight that caused Ue's inside to churn with hate with his calculative mind attempting to determine who was so cruel to attack an innocent town. He stood at what seemed to be a main street, of which had an assembly line of buildings roughly 10 meters apart which in turn created 10 meter wide alleyways, allowing for quick escapes should they be needed. The main street itself was about 30 meters wide, and traveled forward and back as far as the eye could see.

The buildings were slowly collapsing as the virulent fires caused their infrastructure weakened, causing what pillars that held them up to lose strength. There had been a market place to Ue's left (5 meters ahead of him), and from it emerged a body completely enveloped in flames, running rampantly as baleful screams spilled from his melting tongue. Ue knew the enemy had to have been close buy, or at least he assumed so. Judging from the destruction why would they just attack and leave, it'd seem like they would go on ahead and finish the job and silence all suffering.

With his crimson armour he began to walk forward, flickering from each side of the streets, the buildings, its rooftops and even behind him, searching for any hostile movements at any angle. But of course as he had done so his hands were held above his chest with his arms bent at a perfect 90 degree angle, ready for action.

"This is a disaster! Whoever caused this must be stopped! "

With the crepitating sound of billowing flames cracking and snapping into his ears like a monolithic bonfire, he felt ashamed to have been a known master of the blaze arts as well, however, he would never misuse his knowledge of fire in such a way as to cause harm to others intentionally.

"Hopefully the others will make it here soon, I could use Bit's help, and some others maybe. Whoever caused this is undoubtedly powerful and I'm unsure if I can do it on my own."

Then again, I'd never really been an active shinobi under the leadership of him... I made my way into the burning city, trying to stay out of the heat and the smoke as best as I was able, while I watched ninja clash with ninja. A native iwa nin was fighting a ninja from kirigakure, and I was unsure at that point who was the antagonist. It wasn't until three more ninja from Kirigakure slid from the shadows and killed the Iwagakure shinobi that I understood. We were the agressors... I almost had to retch back bile at the thought. I was part of a village that was responsible for... this. The burning houses, the stench of flesh being seared, and hair being scorched, the countless deaths... I was a part of all this, and I had no reason why. Seeing the three Shinobi duck down an alleyway, I followed, calling out. "Wait up! Does somebody mind telling me what the hell's going on here, and why we're attacking an innocent village out of the blue?" It seemed insane, but perhaps my fellow village members could explain just why it was that we were up to our balls in blood and corpses. For their sakes, I really hoped we had a good reason. There was sounds of panic through out the entire building, The Uchiha was racing behind his partner trying to catch him. The building was in chaos as the Uchiha found it kind of hard to keep his pace behind Ue, the hallways began to get crowed before he could finally reach his partner. Bit would stop for a second to look around and make sure he was heading in the correct direction. He would see an bright light at the end of the hall, he assumed right away that it was Ue leaving the building. The shinobi would rush towards the building door ahead of him pushing everyone out of the way using sheer strength to get through the crowd. When he finally arrived at the door, he pushed it open. His vision was insistently blurred from the extreme heat that was caused by the flames dispersing from the buildings all around him. "What the fuck!?" Bit would say as he stepped into the decaying city looking around at the damage caused from the explosion he had heard. His attention would change quickly he knew he could spend to much time linger on the thought of who did this two this once peaceful city, he had to locate his partner. His eye's darted left to right until he finally spotted his partner, he would quickly closed the distance between the two of them. "Yo, Ue!" he shouted as he made his way across the street. 'He looks calm as ever, I hope he is ready for what ever is coming our way.' Bit thought as he closed the distance between them to about 1 meter. "This is crazy, whom ever did this we have to at least attempt to." Bit would go on to say as his hand touched on the hilt of his sword. Bit knew that this was going to be the first taste of what war felt like. The next closes thing to war he had experienced was cleansing that village of that group of bandits. But the Uchiha knew what ever caused this was on a totally different level. Trying not to let his mind linger on the topic of what could happen Bit would turn to his teammate. Even amongst the chaos and destruction, the keen eyes of the Kirigakure shinobi were able to pick out those sportin' their headbands. Everyone else? Well, the Mizukage's orders were quite explicit: death.

"What in the fuck are you doing?" a voice called out from Shinryu's left, ushered by a lightly-armored Kirigakure kunoichi. The large, kunai-esque blade she sported was totted effortlessly, and her armor was still dripping wet with the blood of a fresh kill. "Are you slow-witted or something?"

"Have you already forgotten Masumi-sama and Kouketsu-sama's plan for us? We've gotta break shit down to start over. Nothing is ever going to change until we uproot the corrupted shinobi government." Whether or not Shinryu could remember the event was irrelevant, for his mist headband marked him as the enemy. And the joint-shinobi forces that protected Bakudon Gai would slay him on sight.

This fact was punctuated by a wave of kunai aimed for the boy's back, though each of the miniature blades were expertly deflected by several swings of the woman's blade. The transition from point-a to point-b would've been nigh-instantaneous, showin' she wasn't just some random run-in-the-mill shinobi. "Shape the fuck up, kid. We're a necessary evil. Wouldn't you do anything to ensure the future generations will never have to go through something like this?"

Shinryu's weak-stomach would have to wait. He had a duty to preform, whether he liked it or not. His leader's method might've been more outwardly brutal than Masumi's; however, his cause was without doubt one of the most noble.

Meanwhile, Bit and Ue would find a pair of Kirigakure ninja standing just fifteen meters directly in front of them. The Leaf-nin would easily see several of their comrades, butchered, laying at the mist duo's feet; the aggressor's armor, which was at one point green, was red and slick.

Either of the two Mist-nin sported larger than normal weapons, one of which was was a kunai-like blade; the other a massive sea-shell, more than capable of crushing the most potent of armor.

They'd marked the two boys for death the moment they'd noticed the leaf symbol on either of their head bands, and hastily made their toward the two.

Ichi, the ninja on the left, took to the side of a building as he made his way closer. Suspended several meters above the ground, his large mace-like weapon trailed behind, secured by a vice-like grip from his left hand. His right hand had sunk into the utility pouch at his side, obscured by the cloak wrapped around his figure. Meanwhile, Ni had remained on the ground. The large kunai-shaped weapon he brandished did not hinder him from speeding through a long set of seals, being capable of performing them with a single hand¹.

The two Kiri-nin moved at an even pace, cutting fifteen meters down to five in a matter of seconds.

These NPCs are simply here to give ya'll something to do until an actual PC from Kirigakure jumps into the thread that's intending to fight ya'll. While none of this ninja will be overpowered, they are still very capable of killing you if you don't play smart. I won't be going easy on anyone in this event.

A sense of mental relief rush onto Ue as the voice of one of his closest friends pierce his threshold of hearing. Now certain that some form of cavalry arrived, things just seemed to be all the more brighter in this dark, malefic atmosphere of death. Nevertheless, trouble was afoot.

With his senses wide open, it was quite easy for him to lay eyes upon the aggressors of this unforgivable act, enough so he'd watch some shinobi plummet to the ground beneath the duo's feet. From 15 meters it was rather difficult to completely make out his headband given the size of the crest. Nevertheless in that decisive moment -antecedent to the oppositions dash (both)- his hands sprung to life, sifting through an assembly line of zodiac seals at a near incomprehensible gait, completing the process before they could even reach a 5 meter threshold.^Hyperseal.

Fifteen meters was roughly 45 feet, a distance that could not be reduced with 2-3 seconds of time, so Ue was perfectly safe, for now. With haste His hands and body sunk low to the earth, palming its essence as a monolithic geyser of mud poured forth from his hands, spreading its essence -at knee level- with a 30 meter width, fitting snugly within the 30 meter wide street with a 50 meter length. However, his defense was not over as of yet, concomitantly to the initial beckoning of his Earth flow jutsu had a 30 meter wide wall of earth risen from the ground like a window would in a car 3 meters to Ue's front. Though its maximum width was cut off due to the street, its height (40 meters) would remain unhindered.

Ue knew this wouldn't hold them off forever, but it would definitely give him time to get what needed to be done. And with that he'd begin a series of backward leaps, distancing himself 6 meters from his defensive wall whilst stringing together another set of seals.

This allows the user to protect themselves from a variety of physical attacks, both ninjutsu and taijutsu. The defense is not perfect though, as a hard or drilling impact can puncture the wall.

Description: After performing the necessary hand seals, the user will transform the ground upon which the enemy stands into a river of mud. This river suddenly materializes flowing at fast paces completely against the direction the opponent is moving, making movement very, very difficult. The river itself shoots in a relatively straightly line, and as the user's rank increases, so does their skill with this technique. Excellent for slowing people down and facilitating escapes, as the mud itself is highly constricting.

With his eye's wide open the Uchiha would began to focus his Chakra into his bladeArdemus 1 Causing an dense fog to began to appear in front of the two men that were about 15 meters away from the duo, Bit's idea was to give his partner a decent of cover as he floated through more hand seals. The fog was so dense but the Uchiha could hear what was going on around him, he arrived at the thought of his partner doing the same thing as he was trying to set up an decent defense so that they could better prepare for the men at hand. Simple now taking the same precautions as his teammate trying to change the location they stood at, before the men ripped through those simple defense set up by Ue-san. Bit would wave his sword once more but this time berthing water clones [2] exact replica's of the him self. Bit wasn't sure what would become of the clones that he birthed from the sword but he made sure they wear ready for anything that could possible happen in this situation. The mist was still pretty thick, so the Uchiha would quickly change his position slightly so that he would not be left open to any attack pointed in the direction he was standing previously standing in. Meanwhile Bit sent his clones there orders, in set's of two's the clones would begin to prep Jutsu that they would use at the moment an enemy appeared. Unfortunately, their "brilliant" defense was all but pointless, and the window of opportunity that they so boldly presumed they had was, in all actuality, far smaller. As for the mist? Well, considerin' the fact that the lil' bastard would've needed to reach for his sword and unsheathe it, and then wave it to conjure up the ten meter smog, it was equally as irrelevant to the pair of encroaching shinobi.

Even with his nifty ability to craft hand seals faster than your average shinobi, he would've been a fool to presume the brisk pace these two Kiri-nin were moving at was to be taken lightly. A handful of seconds would've been all that they needed to cross the five meter threshold, regardless of the boy's incantation.

Furthermore, the mud he so proudly poured from the psuedo-dragon's maw had a bit of a problem: it was on flat ground. Had Ue held some sort've upper footing, the river would've poured freely against the opposition. However, this wasn't the case at all; no, this river would've need to pick up pace and rush toward the incoming ninja, which was all the time Ni needed to completely remove himself from the situation. A single leap put him on the building opposite from Ichi's, and without so much as skipping a beat in their forward trek, the two carried on as planned.

Likewise, the wall that had been conjured moments later was all but irrelevant. Considering it only blocked the street, and the two Kiri-nin were on buildings, their "evasion" was as simple as obliquely scaling the face until being perched upon its roof. The minor effort needed to achieve such a result would've been negligible, and the hindrance on timing would've been less than a fraction of a second due to the frightening burst of speed from either party¹.

Not that it would've mattered, anyways. Ichi's third eye² was far beyond the meager distance that separated the two teams, and hadn't lost sight of 'em at all.

Now, since we've got the timing thing fixed, it's time for the fun part! You see, if Bit was hoping that his Sharingan was going to save him (which aren't activated, mind you), he was sadly mistaken. His own technique would've rendered him and his partner absolutely blind. Considerin' the mist was centered around Bit, who was essentially side-by-side with Ue, the six meters the doton-user attempted to gain wouldn't have nearly been enough to give him any kind of foresight about what was about to happen merely a second later.

Ichi's right hand snapped forward as he came into "sight," right about the time Bit would've been hopin' to wave that magical sword a second time. The marked kunai would've devoured the distance separating them in the blink of an eye, striking him clean in the nape of his neck. The explosion that ripped out after would've decimated the boy's body, reducing it to nothin' more than smoldering pieces and chunks. If he was hoping he would've been able to hear what was going on, he was sadly mistaken. They were in the middle of a combat zone, with explosions happening every other second; screams roaring into the air; cries from the dying and buildings being toppled.

Essentially, Bit had willingly turned himself into a sitting duck.

However, the sensory-nin didn't plan on stopping there. That same hand that more than likely dealt Bit his death card lashed back out, havin' scooped a pair of kunai from his utility pouch. This blade, mark was well, cut through the mist like a hot knife to butter. Considering his next target was moving, he worked with what he had (sensing his chakra) to gauge a beyond-general direction. With no reason to deviate from his linear retreat, Ichi aimed the zooming projectile to dig itself hilt-deep into the boy's left leg.

However, even if the kunai mysteriously missed, the explosion that the kunai evolved into would've surely swallowed Ue almost entirely due to the close proximity.

All the while, the equally blinded Ni continued en route to the "back" of the mist, keeping himself elevated on the roof. He'd be ready to greet anything that came out of the small den of mist.

The shock had rocked the core of the young white-haired genin as he paused in his tracks swaying in the motion of the blast. Unbeknownst of its direction the boy covered his eye's to wait for the flashing dull of light to fade from his retina's. The shinobi he had followed were now ahead of him, he was by himself and needed to catch up. Opening his eye's the adrenaline was pumping as he pumped upward leaping from the surrounding walls through a gaping hole in the roof. Piercing through the hole the light from the outside was sound to the loud explosions and sound of falling rock. Steadily standing on the roof of the building he tilted his head upward to scout his surrounding area. The way he felt now was an incredibly scary feeling. Satomi was in the midst of war and didn't know anyone around him. He didn't know why the war had occurred or who was responsible. For all he knew, himself and his partner for the exams could be the only Cloud-Nin in the whole village. They were alone and vulnerable.

Bakudon Gai was now seemingly in rubble. The sight of burning buildings in the midst of smoke and ash could bring any innocent to tears. But he had seen his fair share of heart-ache and as a shinobi he had to quash any fear or emotion at all. He had to do his part. In a mental fluster Satomi tried to think what he could do. It was hard to think when in the middle of explosions, ducking and diving, hoping that it was not centered near your area. He thought to first look for any ally he could. Running to the edge of the roof-top he scouting with his eye's anyone that he could recognize, a Iwagakure headband, or anyone that was in the chuunin exams. The few shinobi that were in front of him couldn't have ventured far from his location so it was in his immediate interest to scout them out first. With piercing view he scouted further into the distance but it was no point. Even if he could spot someone that he recognized it was unlikely that he would make it across town, to that distance, alive. Abruptly, the sound of warfare filtered into his ears and Satomi jerked his head downward to try and locate where it could have possibly come from.

Spotting an unusual mist on the battlefield only 40 odd meters away Satomi knew instantly that it was a ninja art technique, he had seen it before. By the shape and density of the mist, let alone its rarity in the occasion, he knew that it must have been the Hidden Mist Technique most likely performed by a mist-nin. Could they be the enemy attacking this city? However he had no time to speculate. Shifting his weight to his side he leap across the building next to him and started to sprint forward in the direction of shinobi. He would take no chances in this excursion as for the time being all people are enemies to him until he could know that someone was a true ally.

With his weight forward and arms hanging loosely to his sides the young shinobi sprinted forward across each roof to get closer to the action. He needed to keep the high ground, and naturally, staying atop was his best bet for safety and a forceful attack. If he was caught in the mist below his vision would be totally obscured and he would become a sitting duck. As the edges of the mist below wavered in the combat Satomi would be prepared for anything that came out as he began to prepare handseals. Arching his movements he would appear near the back edge of the mist atop of the roofing. Surprise would be no factor as the young genin was ready to take blood.

And with that he'd begin a series of backward leaps, distancing himself 6 meters from his defensive wall whilst stringing together another set of seals.

With his retreat underway (leaping backwardly) and his prepared seals completed before even reaching his 6 meter mark, his prepared technique took only a moment to finish just as the mist had begun to settle in and things just went downhill from there. By the time Ue reached his destination the unpalatable sound of a plummeting sack of flesh met with the soils of earth, immediately Ue knew it had to have been Bit for he himself knew that the opposing ninja suffered not even a lick of damage.

("Damnit, this isn't good, Bit's surely down, and I can't see a damn thing. Just one of those moments when things don't go as planned. ")

His seals completed themselves, however, at the last minute the jutsu itself, failed to materialize, only to swap presence with a rush of pain to his left leg? Reflexively, Ue feel to his left knee, throwing him off balance as a grunt of pain emanated from his lungs. Finally - with Bit momentarily dispatched- Ue hurriedly rushed to his feet (in a limp) and headed towards bit. For some peculiar reason the battlefield seemed to have come to a momentary cease-fire, otherwise Ue was sure he'd be dead by the time he picked up Bit, in a 'fireman carry' after having applied a makeshift bandage with his own shirt around his neck. Had they actually spared the leaf shinobi? Maybe so given that this wasn't even their war to fight to begin with. Nevertheless they escaped with their lives - nothing more could have been asked for.

H aving followed his comrade westward, Kaito found himself in the midst of bloodshed and chaos. But rather than pursuing Shinryu further, he took to the shadows, observing the frays of the street and how they played out. Lurching through darkness, he neared the end of an alleyway, from which he discerned an altercation between several of his comrades and a few leaf shinobi. He recognized their faces, contestants in the exams.

Everything escalated rather quickly, only to reach a breif stalemate. With the mist rising from the fallen shinobi, and both him and his comrade injured, they made way to flee from the scene. And although it may have come of as cowardice, Kaito emerged from the shadows with a deviant nature. He approached the two quickly, cutting them off in their path to escape. His right hand tightly gripping the hilt of the blade, tensing it as he began to make gestures with his left. It didn't matter at this point, the headband manifested on his forehead meant that they were enemies. But nonetheless, he gave them an opportunity to notice his presence.

"Where do you think you're going?"

His head cocked to the side as though he were seriously confused by their feeble escape attempts. He had been given the orders to kill anyone not bearing his village's crest; and their affiliation to konohagakure only made him resent them further. The fools had started a pointless war, serving no purpose unlike our current call to arms, which would bring about a new era.

The earth was flat, a wide opening between buildings allowed the shinobi room to exercise his blade. He stood roughly fifteen meters from the two injure, leaf shinobis, cutting them off from their only viable escape route. Judging by the way the black haired male carried himself, he was strong, but he had proven no match for Kaito's allies and in his current he likely couldn't defend against a full strength warrior such as himself. His eyes glanced around, taking note of the scenery and the people occupying it. For a distance of twenty meters in every direction, no one was around, even along the roof tops.

His eyes narrowed, soon things would unfold.

The two boys had made a very wise decision. Fortunately, the first one to be injured (Bit) would escape with his life as well. For some reason or another - call it luck, or a miracle if you'd like - the detonation of the tag had malfunctioned. Rather than an explosion that would've reduced him to nothing more than shredded meat, the flare that sparked would've barely been enough to give him first degree burn. The real damage stemmed from the blade itself, digging hilt-deep into his body just above the collar.

Ue's fate, while far more fortunate, could've been a lot worse as well. Had Ichi not noticed him instinctively making his way toward the injured boy, who they could see clearly now, he would've detonated the tag on the kunai embedded in the boy's leg. This one would've most certainly erupted, meaning instant death.

However, those two weren't a problem anymore. And thanks to Ichi's massive reach with his third eye, the incoming boy was spotted the moment he'd entered fifty-meters. Being that he was already ten meters deep, he stuck out like a sore thumb on the invisible grid mapped out on Ichi's mind.

"We've got company," he spoke into the telecom device elongating up the side of his neck, nuzzling into his ear. "Another one."

Considering both of the Kiri-nin were situated on the roof of opposing buildings, not only could Ichi "feel" him, but both of them could clearly see him as well. The mist, or whatever remnants might've still been lingering about, were hardly a factor. Created on the streets, and with the heated winds of the city, it would've have even begun to breach the cusp of the city-scape horizon. Truth was, this boy was running directly in to his aggressors. Not that they were complaining.

Already a handicapped match, this little skirmish was in the bag. With a powerful leap, Ichi crossed the street separating him from Ni, landing just shy of his eastern flank. Side-by-side, and separated only by a meter or so, the duo sped forward to greet their newest victim.

The events from earlier still hadn't halted Ni from completing his handseals. Instead, he continued with the lengthy set with one hand; his massive weapon held obliquely at his side, almost like a makeshift shield as it came out and across his chest. All the while, his companion sank behind his figure. And using the innate cover his partner's body provide, Ichi once again reached into that utility pouch of his, fastening his hands around somethin' that would surely prove to be troublesome for the encroaching hero.

The boy would've found forty meters hastily becoming nothing more than five, and soon even that wouldn't exist.

The encroaching enemy was now in sight to the point of facial recognition. There would be no backing out now. What had once been figures in the distance soon turned to a frontal enemy as they each united at each others sides. Both moving at speed, Satomi and his two enemies were now meant for battle. He was out number and surely outranked but that would not stop Satomi from doing all he could. He was not afraid to lose his life and he wouldn't. What these ninja were a part of was a crime against humanity. Unprovoked and obviously scared they rush into battle under a banner of which they don't fully understand. United by fear of the unknown the closer Satomi reached the men in front of him he could see the embed insignia on their forehead protectors....Kiri.

Upon sight a blanket of shame shuttered through his body as he pared at his enemies. How could his old home be responsible for this? He knew the bloody history of his own clan and the imbalance of power that seemed to shake through the country and village, but they were better than this. However, Satomi couldn't focus on anything other than the present. The two shinobi in front of him seemed to want blood and now so did Satomi. With his Kaguya thirst rising through his body he could feel his blood start to boil at the feeling of it. He would be enraged, berserked even, and would not stop till he achieved some moral victory. The undesirable instinctive emotion within thrived in this situation, the Kaguya were breed and used for war. It was all they knew. The feelings he had tried to repress for so long had boiled to the surface and he didn't seem to care.

Scanning his enemy he would make notable assumptions on their abilities and how to combat them. Looking at one of the men, who seemed to try and mask his appearance behind the other, he could not gather any notable abilities. He seemed like an average shinobi however he was physically strong and seemed calm in the situation. The man in front of him held a large sword in his hand whilst busy with the other. Close combat seemed to prefer him and also Satomi. Would he go for that man first or the one stationed slightly behind? Rattling through to the end of his set of handseals he would make the first move in this situation. He kept steady with his movements and the two enemies were now closer than ever, within 6-8 meters, but that wouldn't matter as he wanted to end it here. A medical-nin by trade his chakra control was above average. Channeling the chakra through his body movement would now appeared as a mere flicker. He visual location the two assailants would be gone. But where would he appear?

Upon an instant Satomi would appear above the two men surely taking them off guard due to the shear speed of the movement. Only 1-to-2 meters above the two men it would be an inescapable contact between the two foe's. With chakra gathering the contact between them would be a fierce one.

Such a feat is accomplished by using chakra to temporarily vitalise the body and move at extreme speeds they would otherwise be unable to reproduce. In the end, the user will appear and disappear in an instant, allowing them to retreat or attack suddenly should they need it. To facilitate the movement the ninja will often use nearby elements such as mist, sand or leaves to mask their appearance or disappearance.

Sadly, the element of surprise didn't exist when your enemy could track your chakra down to the finest detail. Then again, how could the poor Kaguya have known? What's more, the demon-twins weren't feeling so generous this time. They'd let their first prey go; however, this boy was most certainly going to die.

Even if his "eyes" couldn't see it, the expansive dome of sensing chakra that centered around the Kiri-nin made hiding or hide-speed movements irrelevant (to a degree). The boy's destination was an extremely poor one, as everyone knows the golden rule is: you never want to be in the air.

Considering both of his targets, Ichi and Ni, were moving at relatively high-speeds, staying directly above them for more than a second was infeasible. Beyond that, the moment the chakra from his shunshin vanished, his body would succumb to good ol' gravity and quickly fall the ten or so feet he'd been sittin' at. However, in those very few seconds, his life would've been over.

"There!" Easily bringing himself to a sharp halt and equally edgy pivot several meters away, Ni would've unleashed his assault on the airborne shinobi without a moment's pause. From the dark-haired Kiri-nin's gullet came forth a viscous, syrup like material¹. It soared through the air in an expansive web, undoubtedly swallowing the boy whole as there was literally nothing he could do mid fall. Once he slammed into the ground, he would've found himself stuck. Naturally, although unknown to the Kiri-nin, he could've easily broke free from the syrupy prison with a large enough pulse of chakra. However, in the time it would've even taken him to think of such a feat, the deed would've been done.

Ichi, following in hot persuit of his brother's assault, merely threw his body into a twist before leaping into the air. The tagged kunai he'd grabbed would've been set zooming toward the boy, more than likely striking him clean through the starchy concoction before: boom! Even if he was a kaguya, his impressive bones wouldn't have done shit for the double-tag explosion eatin' him up at point-blank range. The mere shockwave would've shattered his bones into pieces, leavin' his meaty insides to burn and melt.
