[atrb=width,440px,true][atrb=border,0,true][atrb=style, background: #bcbcbc; border-bottom: 5px solid #111111; padding: 5px;] [div style="background: dedede; color: #000000; font-siz[br"]e: 10px; text-align: left; padding-left: 10px; font-family: arial; width: 350px; border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px; -moz-border-radius: 10px 10px 10px 10px;] Another day under the fluorescent lights of Rock Hospital, to Dr. Kikkawa, only served to usher in another day's adventure. There was hardly a stale moment at the facility but those that came were honored as recesses from the mental and physical strain of virtually incessant caretaking. Given the imprudent nature of shinobi, and the children who aspired to be them, he'd often find himself healing "minor" injuries from sunrise to sunset with little time inbetween to enjoy some of the hobbies he loved. It was a tough job and someone had to do it. Fortunately for Iwagakure, Ue was as passionate about his work as he was his play. At the moment, in hand, was a slip of etched parchment detailing the conditions of Iwa Byōin's more recent admissions. Some of the cases seemed rather serious while others foretold unfortunate circumstances that were above all else laughable, such as the baker Ishin Rikido's hands being scolded from not putting on oven mits before attempting to remove his bread from the oven. The doctor's azure irises attentively shifted through the text in an effort to find a place to start for the day— that was when a rap at the door broke his concentration. "Come in," he responded without lifting his eyes from the paper. When the door opened a red haired youth stumbled through, out of breath and eager to speak. "Sorry... I... was late... Dr. Kikkawa! I... was on my way... but I had to walk my sister to scho--" "You're fine, Ryo," he cooed while removing his glasses. "Although I do have an errand for you to run while I attend a meeting" Setting the stack of papers he had in hand aside he just as quickly scooped up another set before moving from behind his desk to stand in front of the youth, who appeared to be his assistant. The height difference became very noticeable then with Uekyuuchi practically towering over the boy. The doctor's occupied hand was extended toward Ryo, who had finally caught his breath, before Ue spoke again. "Take these to Dr. Shimata. I have complete faith that you'll do this right away." Ryo appeared lost for words by the statement, gazing mindlessly at the contents Ue held while drawling out... "Complete... faith?" "Right! I won't let you down, Dr. Kikkawa," he exclaimed before snatching the papers out of his hand and darting out of the door. Ue's smile never left as he watched Ryo bumble down the hall, dodging all of the hospital workers to the best of his ability. That was when a sigh carried his attention elsewhere. He'd received a message earlier from an acquaintance telling him there was a place he needed to be and, as much as he hated leaving work for personal matters, something about this affair compelled him to investigate further. He wouldn't be gone long, he thought, so without prior consent from his superiors he decided to head for the suggested locale. exit |
