He silently cursed, almost wanting to close his eyes to avoid seeing the cat splatter on the concrete below and hit its small little skull. When the Yukina below called out that she had it, however, his fears were slightly assuaged. He positioned himself prominently on the branch and peered down below just in time to see his younger sister leap for the feline and catch it successfully, landing near a few flower bushes. With a smile and a laugh, he clapped his hands in congratulations and hopped off the branch- landing below with a dull thud on the street. He heard her soothe it with words when he landed, and quickly proceeded to help her up with the little pet. "Nice catch, kiddo. Whiskers there looks thankful, too."

The cat purred in her arms as she searched its collar for an address, finding it in a small capsule that was attached to it. Dictating said address out loud, Atlas memorized it and promptly discerned their current location, including the location of their next destination. She suggested they turn in the feline to the police should they fail to find its home, and the Akegarasu agreed. "We'll try our best to find its owners." He smiled, leaning forward from his standing position to pet the cat's furry little head. It had given him quite a scare, but he guessed that went both ways. All that mattered now was that it was in one piece, and that they continued on to find its home to the best of their abilities. His little sister, after all, made a good point. The owner's of this pet were most likely worried right now.

With a curt nod, he went off to grab his guava fruit then began to lead the way. Cutting through streets and looking at the addresses and street numbers they passed. The brunette male didn't know this place very well, but they were bound to find Kamirai Avenue at some point. Hopefully sooner than later though, as the sun was now on its descent under the horizon- and darkness would consume the sky once more. He let his younger sister carry the feline pet as they continued on, again ensuring she stayed close-by as he scanned the surrounding scenery for their designated destination. The cat meowed as they walked on- it must have been hungry since it had cornered itself up in that tree. As time passed on, Atlas became less and less confident that they'd find its home in time.

Although the police of this district were considered to be loyal and just, the Chuunin wanted to refrain from turning in the poor creature into their care. He sought to return it to its family, not a cold and lifeless cell or cage. Picking up the pace a bit, he gestured for Yukiko to follow him. "It's getting late, I think we should hurry a bit, sis. If you get tired or need a rest, though, don't hesitate to tell me, okay?" And with that remark, he continued. Apartment complexes and houses were passed, various street names and numbers- but the address they were looking for was nowhere in sight yet. And just when the half-masked male was prepared to give up and turn around, off to drop the cat at the police station and rent a room at a local ryokan, they hit it. The street, the address, the house. He stopped at its front lawn with a triumphant smile, then turned to his younger sister. "Hey, we found it! How about you knock on the door and turn it in, hm? After all, you pretty much saved its life back there. When you're done, we can head off to find an inn. We have to prepare for tomorrow, you see~"

They started their search for the avenue; they did after all had a little more than two hours until it was time for the female to go to bed. Green eyes scanned the signs while Yukiko made sure that the animal in her arms was comfortable.
But after a half hour, the girl started to get a bit tired of walking around in the street. She let out a small yawn but made sure that Shoko was not uncomfortable in her grip. Neither of the shinobis wanted the feline to escape again.

"It's getting late, I think we should hurry a bit, sis. If you get tired or need a rest, though, don't hesitate to tell me, okay?" said Atlas. "Mhm" replied the girl while she adjusted her hands a little since the grip was a bit too loose.
Suddenly, she noticed a sign that read 'Kamirai Avenue' on the nearby lamppole. A smile formed on her face since it meant that the owner was likely in this street!

"Hey, we found it! How about you knock on the door and turn it in, hm? After all, you pretty much saved its life back there. When you're done, we can head off to find an inn. We have to prepare for tomorrow, you see" said the young man while he stood at the lawn.
"I'll knock on the door and see if there's anyone in there" said the Genin as she walked up to the door; there were still lights in the windows.

She knocked on the door while she hold the cat with her other. A girl on her own age with light green hair opened it. "Uhm...I think this cat belongs to this house. Me and my senpai found it near the market a couple blocks away" informed the female as she hold onto the cat.
"Shoko-chan! Thanks a lot for finding her; I was wondering why she had not comed home yet" said the greenette before she gave her a polite bow.

"You're welcome. Good bye" said the brunette while she returned the bow. After the door closed, the girl walked down to her Chuunin companion with a tired look in her face. "I feel tired...let's go back to the ryokan" muttered Yukiko and let out a yawn.
It had been a relatively long day; they had walked for a couple of hours through the country before they had searched through the capital suburb.

"You tired, imoutosan?" Atlas repeated, a caring look in his emerald green eyes. It was getting kind of chilly now, the shroud of night bound to arrive at any moment. If they wanted to make it to the ryokan before it took over the sky, they would need to leave post haste. It wasn't much of a hassle for him, but Yukiko needed to go to sleep according to the bedtime her parents had most likely issued. That, and he could see the fatigue in her eyes and her vocal yawn. She'd gone with Atlas on a trip that had even managed to tire him out a bit, and he could only imagine how weary she was now. She deserved a good rest, she'd done pretty good today, after all.

"C'mon," He smiled, picking her up from the ground and semi-slinging her over his shoulder. "I'll carry you to the ryokan, sis. No point in exhausting yourself some more." With the ten-year old's weight hardly proving to bog him down, the young man went off, cutting through streets and passing by various homes and establishments. The sun was finally on its last minutes of life for today, the same sun that had seen them start this journey. Carrying his cherished companion, the half-masked male walked through the now less than crowded neighborhoods. The marketplace they had been at only about an hour ago was now emptying, the vendors packing up their inventory for the next morning. Somewhere down the block, the sound of booming music echoed. A party- the night life in this city was beginning to form. He hadn't doubted it would not.

Not before long, they reached the district with the various traditional inns. Entering the one that seemed most suitable to his needs- price-wise and based on its presentation- Atlas proceeded towards the door and entered its exquisitely decorated waiting room. Behind the receptionist's desk, a young woman with circular glasses and long orange hair greeted the Chuunin, working the night shift but clearly in a positive and happy mood. She immediately suggested a special she had going on- a twin bedroom with a traditional breakfast for the price of one, but only for Chuunin of Kumogakure. When Atlas had made his request for the twin bedroom clear, and shown his updated shinobi ID, she processed the transaction and took his ryo. Tapping Yukiko's shoulder, to see if she was still awake or not, Atlas smiled. Tomorrow they'd leave for their village at last!

The next morning the two would have their breakfast after preparing themselves for that day. The ryokan held many specialties on their menu, foods and drinks that the brunette Chuunin found very interesting. Sitting down on a mat across from Yukiko, facing a traditional Japanese table, he beamed at the sight of the waitress bringing his meal. It consisted of steamed rice, miso soup, grilled fish, tamagoyaki (rolled omelet), nori (dried seaweed), and natto (fermented soy beans). A medium-sized bowl of soy sauce was placed in the center of the table, and his miso soup consisted of tofu, chopped green onion, wakame seaweed, aburaage (deep-fried tofu), and a few other tasty ingredients. Overall, this was bound to be the heartiest breakfast he had ever had in his life. Behind the misty steam that rose from his soup, the young man smiled pleasantly.

"Not a bad way to start the day, huh kiddo?"

"C'mon, I'll carry you to the ryokan, sis. No point in exhausting yourself some more." said the male as he semi-slung her across the shoulder. 'Sis?' thought the female while she raised her brown eyebrows in wonder.
Yukiko did not exactly consider him to be her brother since she already had two; he fit better into the role as a cousin or something. They reached the ryokan after about five minutes and it did not look like Atlas was bothered with carrying her.

A woman with orange hair as well as a pair of circular glasses was behind the counter for the ryokan. Ice blue eyes looked up at the clock that hung on the wall...it showed 08:15 PM. No wonder she had felt so tired; it was late in the evening plus they had done a lot of work today.
The young man poked her shoulder and the girl responded with a small cough. They went up to the room, which appeared to have two thick fuutons on the floor.

She went to the bathroom and did what she usually did at bedtime. The Genin felt asleep quite fast since it had been a relatively busy day for her. 'I can't wait to get back to Kumogakure tomorrow. This has been the longest mission I have ever been on so far. But it's been a lot of fun...' thought the female as she felt asleep.


DAY 3.


Some sunlight peeked into the bedroom. 'Is it morning?' thought the brunette as she got up from the fuuton she had sleeped on. Her eyes flicked to her wristwatch; it was 07:35 AM.
The Chuunin was still asleep, so the girl decided to get a good shower before breakfast. She then noticed that there were a couple of small bottles in a small basket that stood on the sink.

'Shower/bath oil huh? Maybe I can use this while I'm showering' thought Yukiko with a smile as she sat down to take a good shower. She cleaned her body from top to toe, washed her hair throughly before she had some conditioner in it.
After that, the female combed out the knots before the clothes were put on. It was breakfast downstairs after that...but what options did the hotel offer for this kind of meal?

It turned out to be a Japanese style breakfast; it was something that the Genin looked a bit forward to. She decided to order a cup of iced peach tea, miso soup with vegetables and two small pieces of bread with some butter on it.
"Not a bad way to start the day, huh kiddo?" said the male with his usual smile on his face. "Nope" said the girl as she started on her warm soup.

He began his meal by dipping the strip of nori in soy sauce then proceeding to roll it in some rice. Promptly afterwards, he would pop the entire thing in his mouth and steadily chew. Delicious. Just as he had expected it to be. Finding his hunger overwhelming, and his eyes darting all over the specified foods on the surface of the neat table, the Akegarasu found himself slightly drooling. He really needed to stop that little habit, it was unbecoming of him! He was more polite than that, and much more refined. And even though he was in the presence of one he considered his sister- as his devotion to her safety proved it- he didn't want to give the impression that he was a sloppy eater anyway. The moment seemed as peaceful as their previous day- well, before the gang of bandits they had encountered and before the hectic marketplace scenery. But, with the realization that this peace had returned, Atlas' thoughts went back to the news he had wanted to break to his companion before. He picked up a wooden spoon, dipped it into his bowl of miso soup as he used his other hand to propel it up and near his mouth. Effortlessly, he scooped up vegetables and soup liquid, rhythmically dropping the contents in his mouth and chewing them up before swallowing. Oshii! But wait, he wasn't trying to avoid what he had just been thinking about, right? Why would he? As far as he knew, he had no reason to be anxious or worried about informing Yukiko on his possible Raikageship. Setting his bowl of miso soup down at the table, and glancing at his younger sister with a smile, he released a satisfied ahh. Why not tell her here, now? "Hey kiddo," He started. His hands expertly removed a piece of grilled fish and steamed rice from his plate with the wooden chopsticks, his other hand reaching around to temporarily grab the bowl of soy sauce and dip some onto his food. Though he talked, he didn't stop from preparing the food for the time when he'd occupy his mouth with sustenance, not words. "I have a problem... well, not a problem, persay, but a dilema, though I guess you can say those two are the same thing, I mean: problem. Dilema. Well, actually, let's call it more of a situation. Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm in the middle of a, er, situation." He noticed how fast he had been talking, how scattered it all was. Glancing up at his younger sister from across the table, he gave a sheepish smile. He delivered the piece of grilled fish and white rice to his mouth, handling his chopsticks with ease. As he closed his mouth and chewed, he gauged the look in his little sister's bright blue eyes. It was only then that he realized why he had been a bit anxious, though his conscious mind had refrained from thinking so. He knew things would change after he'd given her this news. There was no doubt about it- and it scared him, to be honest. He had dealt with so much loss in the past, failed so many people- including his young son. What if he failed her? The title of Raikage didn't even come close to the bond he had with imoutosan, but at the same time, he desired nothing more than to protect her and everyone in the village of Kumogakure. What scared him was the burden. What scared him was his own, possibly inadequate, strength. He swallowed down his food, then took a deep breath. "I've been offered the title of Raikage." He started, a nervous but happy smile on his face as he continued. "I-I... OOC: Aaaw, don't worry. I just like to keep it realistic; Yukiko has only known you for a couple of months plus that she already has two younger brothers.

"Let's eat" said the female moments before she started on the soup. He eyes widened a little when she felt the flavor spread on her tongue; the taste was not too salt or too bland. 'Is it only me or is most of the food we've got really good!?' thought Yukiko as she started on the vegetables that floated around in the bowl.
All of the vegetables were crunchy, but they could perhaps have been a little warmer for her tastes. The male on the other end of the table seemed to find the soup just as tasteful as she did judging from the delighted smile on his face.

"I have a problem... well, not a problem, persay, but a dilema, though I guess you can say those two are the same thing, I mean: problem. Dilema.
Well, actually, let's call it more of a situation. Yeah, that sounds about right. I'm in the middle of a, er, situation." said Atlas as she looked at her with an unsure expression on his face. 'I wonder what kind of problem he has' thought the girl as she finished her soup; he was after all a 24-year old who asked a 10-year old for advice.

He took a deep breath while the Genin started to chew on the piece of bread that was closest to her. "I've been offered the title of Raikage. I-I... I think I might take it... when I get back home." said the Chuunin with a nervous smile on his face.
"WHAT!?" exclaimed the female as she looked at him with shock written all over her face. It was a good thing that there were nobody in the small dining room except them. Numerous thoughts raced through her head as she looked at him with wide eyes.

'Why is he getting the offer for the Raikage title!? Does not Jounins or someone who used to be a Jounin usually get that chance to become the leader of the village!? And what about our team...he won't have much more time for me if he becomes the kage!' thought the brunette as the last thought hit her like a block of hard ice.
"Senpai, will you still have time to be my senpai when you take up the Raikage offer? I don't want to be paired with some stupid teenagers who just think I'm a little twerp who does not know anything about being a Genin" exclaimed the girl.

"Well...just make sure to see me sometimes when you become Raikage. I want to learn a higher rank of that mind's eye jutsu and perhaps how to disguise my chakra. I wish I could learn you some Yukina jutsus in return, but it is impossible unless you are a Yukina yourself.
I'm sorry" muttered Yukiko before she continued on munching the slice of bread. She had suddenly lost some of her appetite despite that her stomach had room for one more slice.

And to be honest, Atlas didn't have an answer to most of these questions either. Whether he would have time for her, however, was clear. As if she'd been reading his mind, she asked just that, to which he replied with a smile. The concern was sweet- he thought he'd been the only one who'd cared, after all. "Of course I'll find some time for you." He answered. "No matter what, okay? I won't let my imoutosan be paired up beside any disrespecting teens- best believe that." Though he promised he wouldn't team her up with any teenagers of that sort, he was still focused on finding her the ideal team when they returned- even if his duties as the new Raikage attempted to get in his way. He was resolute in the fact that her interests came first, but at the same time, he felt the rush that came with accepting this prominent position. He'd opened a whole new world for him, filled with prospects and possibilities. And in the process of doing so, he'd put a new burden on his shoulders. No... not a burden, but a privilege. He saw that now, the chance to serve his country in the greatest way possible. To make his name known, to aspire for greatness. He could handle doing that, and taking care of his younger sister as well. All he needed was the inspiration she was feeding him now. When she mentioned if they'd have enough time for training, particularly in the Kagura techniques he had introduced her to, his face became even brighter still. "Don't worry about those Yukina techniques, it's no biggie. But I'll tell you what- first thing we're going to do when we get back and receive our reward is hop to our training, hm? How does that sound?" He stopped when the door slid open. The waitress came in with a jug of orange juice, water and two glass cups, placing them on the table and proceeding out the room with a polite bow. After thanking her, Atlas turned his attention back to Yukiko as he served himself a fresh glass of orange juice. "I'm also becoming an Academy Teacher, by the way. So teaching will, hopefully, be right up my alley." Yeah, he'd almost failed to mention that- the fact that he was going to take upon two new jobs. He was going to be a busy man when he got back to Kumogakure, no doubt. But he was confident he was ready to face the obstacles that he would come across. Teaching, after practicing the art with Yukiko and Areru Sansutsomu, seemed like something he could get the hang of real quickly. If it proved to be taxing, after all, he could simply back out of the job and focus on his Raikage duties. If not, then he could improve his skills personally and with this job for a long time to come. But whether the Raikage job was still up to be taken when he returned- due to the fact that he had missed the appointment they had given him before- was still up in the air. He would not know for sure until he got back and spoke with the representative that had knocked on his door before, however. "OK" said the female as she sat down; she hoped that he could keep his promise to her. She finished the first slice of bread in a couple of minutes since her appetite was back to almost normal now.

"Don't worry about those Yukina techniques, it's no biggie. But I'll tell you what- first thing we're going to do when we get back and receive our reward is hop to our training, hm? How does that sound?" said Atlas with a smile.
"Do you think we can continue the day after tomorrow? I need to rest a little bit" replied Yukiko as she started on the second slice...these long travels were more tiring on her than him.

But the girl was happy that he wanted to continue his lessons in the ways of the Mind's eye; perhaps she could use it in conjunction with her kirigakure no jutsu. "I'm also becoming an Academy Teacher, by the way. So teaching will, hopefully, be right up my alley." muttered the young man with his usual smile.
"I think you're pretty good. You taught me several jutsus in just a couple of months" stated the Genin with a small smile on her young face.

"I'm going up to pack now" informed the female before she gave the waitress a bow. She then went up to the hotel room they shared to pack down all the luggage that had been removed from the backpacker. 'Let's see...I think that should be about it. We need to get home to Kumogakure now, but we have plenty of time' thought the brunette as she looked down on her wrist watch.
The arms on the watch told her that the current time was 08:30 AM. Which meant that they had six hours to get back to the hidden village in the clouds.

The girl went down to the lobby once she was finished to wait for the young man who traveled with her. 'Free newspaper!' thought Yukiko as she saw an edition of today's newspaper laying on a nearby table.
She rarely read them; some of the few reasons she read them was the comics plus checking when the anime shows ran. Her brothers could not read properly yet, but they were getting there. 'Yay, it's a special episode tonight!' thought the female when she read the TV program.

It had gone pretty well, and he seemed to have assuaged many of his fears and doubts. But some of them were still there, and he had yet to prove himself and everyone else that he had what it took to carry this burden and succeed. He gulped down his entire glass of orange juice, then refilled his glass to the brim. If there was one drink he felt could compare with guava fruit, it was a good ol' bottle of chilled OJ. After five minutes or so, having eaten most of what was on the table in the process, the Akegarasu felt his breakfast was done and accounted for and would proceed to leave, wiping his mouth with a napkin. His little sister was most likely waiting for him. He was glad the Yukina thought he would make a good Academy Teacher, he valued the opinion of those he had taught before. Only, he needed more opinions- more critics. In order to advance, as his mentor Zafirah had taught him, one needed to accept their failures and mistakes, and learn to use them to one's advantage. To study these situations, to grow because of it. He was not in a hurry, however, as he had practically the whole time in the world ahead of him. Once he returned to Kumogakure, once he accepted the jobs at hand and learned to adapt to them, he could resume a normal pace in his life and focus on making some time for himself and his own self progress. Though, he hoped this would not be misunderstood as being selfish. He simply wanted to better himself for the sake of others. As Raikage, he wanted to be better for his people- to protect and serve them. As an Academy Teacher, he wanted to get better for his students- to guide them onto the right path and teach them to the best of his minimal teaching ability. As he made his way out of the dining room, he thanked the waitress and headed off to the rented room to gather his things. Finding that Yukiko was not there anymore, and that she had already taken her stuff out of the room, he sped up the pace of his haste, cleaned up the room a bit, then swiftly exited after locking the door behind him. His hasty departure took him to the main room, where he returned the room key to the receptionist there and spotted his younger sister with a newspaper. Having stored his guava fruit in a properly conditioned refrigerator, it had come out as fresh as it had been bought when they had gone to the marketplace the other day, and he held it in the same bag with one hand. About two kilos of the precious fruit were left, enough for today and tomorrow. Striding towards the Yukina, he gestured with a toss of his head towards the door. "Off we go, missy." He opened the front door for her as they exited, then drew a guava fruit from his bag as they continued on down the street. Offering the open bag to his younger sister, to see if she wanted a guava or not, the Chuunin would then proceed to biting into his delicacy as he walked on. Gradually, as they advanced, the main road they had taken would become the same dirt road that was destined to take them to their beloved home village- or at least, to the secret passageway that would take them to their beloved home village. They would, of course, follow all precautions as they had done so before. But for now, he could enjoy the walk with the satisfying taste of guava fruit spreading over his taste buds. At a good walking pace, they would arrive to the designated entry point in an hour or two. "Off we go, missy." said the male as he waved his hand a little. He was chewing on the guava fruit they had bought yesterday, but there was quite a lot left in the bag. They checked out and then went through the streets.
It was 09:00 AM; the streets were rather quiet since most people were at work or school at this point of time. The female smiled a little as they went out of the suburb area on a road that went through some of the forests.

Not a lot of people used this route since it was rumored to be full of wild animals such as bears or wolves. A part of that was a rumour in order to protect the hidden shinobi village that was merely one or two hours away by feet.
But there were a couple of bears around here as well as bobcats. Her parents had told her that bobcats were usually shy and a bear would not bother you if you stayed far enough away. If it got too close for comfort, you had to climb up in a tree or use explosives in order to scare them off.

A small gale blew through the forest; Yukiko quite liked the wind since you did not get wet of it like the snow or rain did to you. "We shouldn't be too far away, I could not see anyone follow us in here" said the girl as they jumped from tree to tree.
Some of the leaves had started to turn yellow since the autumn was not too far away on the calender. The Genin honestly did not mind the colder seasons since she had spent almost half of her life in Yuki no Kuni. Not to mention that she actually had ice in her blood...

"Senpai! Look at that!" exclaimed the female as she saw something laying on the ground. At a closer inspection, that 'something' turned out to be a male deer that laid on the ground. He was awake since he turned on his head, but he could not move his legs for some reason.
"Is it deer hunting season yet or am I wrong?" asked the brunette as she looked up at Atlas with a confused look at her face.

But when she looked closer, she let out a small gasp in fright. The reason why the poor deer could not move was because one of its legs had some barbed wire wrapped around it. Not only was it painful, but it had created a gash that was nearly as large as the girl's forearm.

There didn't seem to be much bleeding, so at least that was a factor the two Kumogakuran ninja could use to their advantage. Nevertheless, it would require immediate medical attention should it seek to gain full recovery and use of its leg. After all, a deer with only three functioning hooves did not stand a chance out here in nature. Its life would be restricted to the confines of some animal shelter, forever to live in an encaged space where it couldn't truly run free. Atlas didn't want to see it like that. When his younger sister asked whether it was hunting season for deer at this time, Atlas shook his head. "It's not," He said rather grimly, dropping down to a crouch as he inspected the barbwire with his eyes. "We need to get it some help, quick. Though the bleeding doesn't look serious, it risks obtaining an infection." He didn't dare touch or try to remove the barbwire himself for the fear that the creature would endure more undeserving pain. It was then that he realized how hopeless he felt. The fact that he had little medical experience, that he couldn't help this deer on his own. It was then that he decided that at some point he would like to learn medical techniques. He needed... in case situations like this ever rose again. His mind flashed with thoughts and ideas. Where he would go from here, what decision was the soundest and most efficient. Yukiko was right, they needed professional help with this. Someone who dealt with animals, dealt with ruthless injuries like this. Noticing the anger in her eyes, he sighed. He was angry, too, to see this senseless injury for himself. And while the person at fault for this deer's nasty wound was probably miles away, he wished nothing more than to execute justice. But they couldn't focus on this right now, they couldn't revolve around their anger. At the moment, the health of this beautiful creature was paramount. They needed to act fast and efficiently. A swift hand seal was performed, and Atlas would suddenly summon a ten strong flock of crows. They emerged from his sleeves as Atlas held his arms upwards, cawing as they swirled about through the leaves of trees. With the mental connection that had been immediately established when he had created them, the Chuunin told them to scatter and fly into the depths of the forest, looking for any sign of a ranger station or friendly human service in general. Civilization couldn't be that far, after all. It hadn't been long since they'd left the city behind. With the ravens gone to look for help, Atlas turned to his younger sister. The deer neighed and squealed behind him in pain, tossing its horned head about weakly. "Ugh, I hate seeing it like this... Its leg is causing it intense pain. "We need to get it some help, quick. Though the bleeding doesn't look serious, it risks obtaining an infection." said the male with a rather serious voice. 'Infection?' thought the female as she raised her eyebrow; she have had ear infections but wound infections was something unknown to her.
He then did a handseal before ten strong crows emerged from his sleeve. All of them scattered as they flied further into the forest, probably looking for help.

"Ugh, I hate seeing it like this... Its leg is causing it intense pain. We need to find some way to ease it." said Atlas as he looked at the poor animal that had been caught in the barbed wire.
"I don't think I have anything to help. Wait, I think I do!" said Yukiko as she remembered the first-aid kit that her parents had sent with her. She placed the backpacker on the ground and looked for the toilet map that might contain something that could help them.

"I'm not sure if we can use band-aids, but I have something that can clean the wound plus a pair of tweezers. And I can use some hyouton chakra in case we have to cool down something" informed the girl as she looked into the toilet map.
She hoped that the crows would return soon so the deer could get the help they needed from a vet or the ranger. "But we have to make sure that the deer does not get up...we cannot help it if it runs away" said the Genin. This was a new situation for her since she had never seen an injured deer in real life.

'I wonder how the deer got that barb wire around its leg in the first place. More animals can be in danger' thought the female as she scanned her surroundings for something that could give her a clue about this.
But her eyes did not see anything that was close to them...at least for now. But the young man next to her probably had an idea of what they should do about this. Maybe he had been in a similar situation before?

Their task was composed of just that, obtaining the aid required to keep the injured deer afar alive. The emotions of urgency and anxiety that their master had carried had unintentionally passed on to them. They traveled at a flight speed that could only be rivaled by the outcome of a more dangerous situation- such as war and other such things. And when these crows had scattered in all directions, they were intent on finding what they had been created for. The ten crows had initially flown near ground-level, but as their haste became more necessary, they took to the skies above the pine trees and swooped down and up on a constant basis. In a matter of minutes, two of them managed to spot someone down below. The birds converged with one another in the sky, dancing around each other and cawing, before diving downwards towards the human they had managed to locate. It was a young man, no older than twenty-five, with green shorts, a hiking backpack, a buttoned up green-shirt with the sleeves rolled up, a wide-brimmed hat, and a shiny gold badge on the chest pocket of his shirt. Suppressing the urge to grab and bite at the shiny metallic trinket, the crows simply began to fly around this surprised individual- who had initially surmised that he was being attacked by rabid ravens. When his crows detected the ranger, Atlas' eyebrows rose up a few inches more, having seen the individual himself through the use of his Crow Vision

[/b]. He straightened from his crouch, giving Yukiko space to provide temporary aid to the poor and injured creature. Issuing a single hand seal, he would activate his Crow Mimic technique. From afar, he would transmit his words to this ranger they had found, pleading for the man to follow these crows and allow himself to be guided towards this current location. "Hey, you!" The brown-haired and blue-eyed stranger looked at the bird that had been speaking with a confused look on his face. "Yeah, you! We need some help! There's a severely injured deer about fourty meters or so from your current location. Follow this crow, he'll lead you."

With that done, he turned his attention back to his younger sister. Hopefully the ranger would be lead in time to help this deer before the injury got too serious. Hopefully, Yukiko's temporary healing methods would bring that ending to fruition. Again, with that hopeless feeling. But he brushed it off. He would get better. He could get better, he knew this. And before he became any Raikage worth existing, he would learn how to save lives, not just take them. This would also aid in his profession as an Academy Teacher as he advanced. He could feel himself changing, his life taking a turn it had never taken before. Some could say he was becoming soft, that he was becoming less of a ninja. But Atlas was perfectly fine with settling down in Kumogakure and helping others. "I found some help," Atlas mentioned to Yukiko, sure she had overheard him.

"He should be here soon."

"Hey you! Yeah, you! We need some help! There's a severely injured deer about fourty meters or so from your current location. Follow this crow, he'll lead you." said the male after he had finished some handseals that the female had never seen before.

'I wonder what kind of jutsu that was' thought Yukiko as she knit her brows a little bit; maybe it had something to do with the crows. She had seen him with a similar bird before they went to Tetsu no Kuni."I found some help, he should be here soon." said the young man with a calmer voice than before.
"Great" said the girl with a calmer look on her eyes before she looked back at the deer on the ground. It laid still so far...the pain probably made it quite hard for it to move around like it used to.

After a couple of minutes, a ranger came into their sight. She knew it had to be a ranger due to the golden badge on the shirt that had the said title written on it with large letters. "Thanks for telling me about the injured deer" said the man as he looked up at the duo.
"We have had a bit of trouble with barb wire since some nearby farms put up some fences so wolves and other predators could not get to their property. Unfortunately, this puts the other animals at risk too" said the ranger as he sat down.

He gave the animal an injection that made it wiggle a bit less; maybe it was a local anesthetic of some sort since it was still awake. "Easy now" muttered the man as he started to remove the barb wire around its leg.
The small Genin paid close attention to what he did...they might run into other injured animals on a future mission. "Good, the wound seems to be fresh" said the man as he removed some bandage and a bottle from his backpacker. He poured some of the liquid in the bottle on a pad before he started to clean the wound.

'Come to think of it, this is very similar to cleaning wounds on people' thought the female. She had seen her parents do something very similar when she or her brothers got a nasty wound. "The animal should be fine now; that bandage dissolves naturally after about a week or something. Thanks for notifying me, but I have to go now" said the ranger as he waved them good bye. "Have a nice day!" yelled the brunette as she waved her hand.
