“Hm, you sure about this Shouta?” Axcel inquired, a blank expression filling his face. It wasn’t but just a few moments ago that Axcel ran into Shouta, the Shodaime Raikage of the new era, in the middle of a bustling town. The vagabond hadn’t known that Shouta had attained such an esteemed position within his village, and had assumed him to still be a genin from when they last met. It had been several years, and Axcel didn’t even recognize the Kumo shinobi when he almost moved past him--in fact, it was Shouta who stopped and greeted him.

Regarding their last meeting--it was a brief encounter just as the war was about to begin. Axcel was exploring one of the ancient ruins of Kaminari no Kuni with his companion, Mr. Squiggles, where he would later find Shouta who was wrapped up in solving one of the many puzzles littered within the ruins. When Axcel had jokingly mocked the then genin for being unable to solve it, he was challenged to solve it himself with a wager, which Axcel couldn’t recall, being put up. It wasn’t long after that Axcel actually did solve the puzzle, though it was by complete chance as he hadn’t understand a single thing he had done. Shouta, though he acknowledged it was a fluke, didn’t have anything to offer at the time and said that the next time they met he’d repay his debt twofolds.

That was the short version anyways. Fast forward to the present, and Axcel was taken to a park, which had been vacant due to the hour it was, and was going to be presented with repayment despite having told Shouta he didn’t have to do anything. When Axcel was told he was going to be taught a powerful jutsu, his interest suddenly peaked. He was being taught a jutsu? Apparently it wasn’t just any jutsu either--it was a powerful one that was supposedly rare as well. How did Shouta come to learn such a technique?

Either way--it was those happenings that led Axcel to ask whether the Kumo shinobi was certain about what he was about to do. If he were to answer with a ‘yes’ of some sort, whether it be through a gesture, nod, or even if it was spoken, then Axcel would ask one more question. . .

“Alright then--what’s the jutsu?” He asked as he pocketed his hands and leaned back against a tree. The Rokudaime was definitely curious as well as willing to learn whatever technique Shouta would be willing to teach him. After all--who was he to turn down free knowledge?

Description: Kage Bunshin is an advanced, forbidden Ninjutsu technique, which grants the user the ability to create a tangible clone. The normal Bunshin technique creates a copy of the ninja that lacks any substance. However, Kage Bunshin distributes the ninja's chakra evenly among the clones and creates a real copy with form and substance, to the point the clone can utilize any jutsu the original ninja knows, and spawns with any equipment the user has one them at the time of the summoning. When the clone finally disperses, any new knowledge it has gained is passed back to the original ninja and any additional clones.

The growing Raikage warrior emerged in a rather inhabited town in Kaminari no Kuni. It had taken Shouta numerous days rummaging around the country hunting for an old acquaintance. This man was Zenryoku Axcel, their encounter was only meager but Shouta owed the warrior something as one reward. When the Raikage had proposed that Zenryoku Axcel’s reward would be the education of one conclusive technique the outdated Yukikage had asked Shouta. Inquiring Shouta on if he were absolute on enlightening a nuke ninja discrete village techniques.

Such an operation had to be gazed down upon, teaching a nuke nin something distinctive to hidden villages. But Shouta only gave one refined nod towards Axcel, as if the Aburame were pronouncing that he was sure. But instantly after this refined nod the Yukina warrior had searched for the elementary explanation on what this skill was. Shouta mounted beneath the tree that Axcel was leaning upon, the Aburame warrior retaliated. The murky threaded warrior’s rims subdivided as the comment materialized into the air currents.

“Kage Bunshin no Jutsu, it’s an elevated Bunshin jutsu. It authorizes you to conceive a Bunshin with its own chakra funds. However when you forge this Bunshin you’re forcibly dividing your own chakra provisions.” The warrior’s obsidian oculars gazed upon the Yukina as he characterized the skill. There had been other improvements in this Bunshin jutsu paired with another but Shouta hadn’t published such intelligence in Axcel’s conscious yet.

Alternatively the Aburame warrior had bridged two of his own digits. These digits made a cross or something similarly associated to that. The Raikage’s ink-like hues maintained visibility on the Yukina as Shouta was demonstrating the movements that are needed for the technique. The Aburames rims once again detached as teachings oozed from his sprouts. “This is the specific handseal one must do when using Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. The constructing development isn’t extensive.” Instantly once those instructions were mouthed immaculate white clouds splashed directly towards Shouta’s right. One mirrored creature of Aburame Shouta mounted right beside him.

Kage Bunshin? Axcel was genuinely surprised, something evident by the sudden change in his facial expression, at the mere mention of the Kinjutsu. It was a rare technique taught only to a very select few, so he was caught a bit off guard when he realized that Shouta would be teaching him Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. The former Yukikage had the opportunity to learn it long ago, back when he was a kage himself and had the authority to learn such secrets if he desired, however, he opted not to do so during his reign.

Why? It was because Axcel had Yuki Bunshin no Oni. Axcel was a master of all things Hyouton--he was arguably unmatched in the art. Thus, as someone who had such a strong understanding of Hyouton based ninjutsu complimented by the cursed blood that coursed through his veins, he was more than capable of summoning an advanced bunshin technique that was relative to his own talents--the Yuki Bunshin no Oni as mentioned earlier was a ice based bunshin not unlike Hyouton no Bunshin. The difference was it was amplified in a way by his own heritage. Due to this, Axcel never saw a reason to learn Kage Bunshin during his reign as Yukikage.

In fact, he still didn’t.

“H-half?!” If it were possible, Axcel’s jaw would have sank to the floor and his eyes would have nearly popped out of their sockets upon hearing Shouta utter the words that mentioned that the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu would divide Axcel’s chakra into half--no matter the size of his chakra. That was insane! It didn’t take long at all for his more rational side to kick in--after all, such an infamous technique had to have some sort of great advantage, right? If he wished to know, he would need to inquire more about the technique itself.

“Well, what’s so special about the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu?” He asked, his hands still tucked away in his pockets. “I mean--anything that forces me to use half my chakra has to have an amazing upside to it. . .” Axcel continued, his words beginning to trail off as Shouta showed him the hand seal. Axcel’s gaze was fixiated on the Kumo Shinobi’s hand, being careful to remember the exact form of the unique hand seal, lest he wanted to forget it during a critical moment of his training!

Whenever Shouta had the chance to explain whatever advantges the technique had, if any, Axcel would follow up with one last question.

“Can you demonstrate. . .?”

The present Raikage soldier consciously loomed nearby a flabbergasted characteristic. Though this flabbergasted characteristic never emerged upon the warriors own visage. Instead Shouta glared towards Zenryoku Axcel. Murky oculars gazing upon the Yukina warrior, all of this occurring posterior to Shouta’s exposition of Kage Bunshin no Jutsu. The duplicated reflection of Aburame Shouta mounting precisely towards the Aburames right hand side. Sullenness materialized into the present air currents since the Raikage had nothing to invalidate Axcel’s docile discontent with the technique.

The speculation was that no-one interrogated the technique because everyone perceived it as useful. Stages progressed where Shouta retaliated with no words. Nonetheless numerous minutes later the Raikage’s own fuchsia rims severed as communication was preserved. “There’s the exhibition of the skill. This twin is able to use every technique that you’re able to use. The thought process is the same, and rumor advocates that once this twin is obliterated into fog the apprehensions the copy had comprehended is conveyed to you as-well.”

A negligible cessation from the Raikage’s words transpired. Furthermore Shouta acknowledge the inadequate rain that bordered the warriors soothing visage. Murky oculars still gazing upon Zenryoku Axcel as communication proceeded. “Furthermore these counterfeits have the same equipment as you. There are diverse gratifications in comprehending the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu but it seems the weather doesn’t encourage our training. I would extend the infinite proprieties to comprehending this jutsu but our cloud-bursting storms are damaging at times.”

One flimsy inhale from the Raikage’s tangible rims had breed inconsequential muteness before Shouta sustained their communication. “So you’ve eyed the technique, had someone state the numerous ciphers in comprehending it and gaze at a Kage Bunshin. I trust you’re ready for your first experiment with the technique. I pray you’ll conquer this skill with haste as this storm will make things strenuous otherwise.”

When Shouta formed the special seal, one which Axcel had already memorized, a duplicate of himself was brought forth into the world. It appeared to be a perfect copy, and if it was capable of everything Shouta would soon say it was, then it would be a force to be reckoned with. Axcel gazed the copy as he awaited an answer from Shouta, expecting some the clone to be able to perform some sort of god-like feats considering it was considered kinjutsu that was exclusive to high ranking shinobi. For a few minutes, everything was quiet, however eventually the silence was broken by Shouta speaking.

Axcel listened intently as Shouta spoke--his language and demeanor reminding him of some of the aristocrats Axcel had met in his day. The shinobi of Kumo really knew his stuff. With a simple nod, Axcel would acknowledge everything Shouta had to say regarding what made the Kage Bunshin no Jutsu so special and differed it from the other bunshin techniques. So it was capable of performing any technique Axcel was, eh? That seemed quite useful! If used properly, the technique could be devastating despite it’s immense cost on a user’s chakra reserves. Axcel was beginning to understand why the technique was regarded as such a powerful jutsu.

Shouta would go on to explain that the technique replicated weaponry as well, something else that peaked Axcel’s interest. However, as he spoke, signs of some depressing weather began to be revealed. Shit--a storm? Axcel thought to himself, realizing that training under such conditions was unsuitable considering how much concentration a technique of this caliber would require. When Shouta asked Axcel to give it a try, Axcel nodded enthusiastically.

“With haste? Psh--it’ll be done in no time!” The Rokudaime replied with a cheeky grin, his hands closing in on one another as he spoke. He made sure to form the special hand seal Shouta had used a few minutes ago when forming his own Kage Bunshin. Axcel imagined a perfect clone beside himself, complete with it’s own chakra network with equipment to boot. The lad’s own chakra began to flow through his body, and without warning it would suddenly pulse, the creation of Axcel’s bunshin beginning.

A plume of smoke would erupt beside Axcel, and in a few moments the smoke would begin to fade away. Had he succeeded. . .?

Success? It was what Axcel had hoped for, but what his amber eyes laid upon was anything but success. In fact, if anything, it was a catastrophic failure. What stood, if you could call it standing, before him was a creature unlike any other. It was supposed to be Axcel--a perfect copy of the shinobi, from head to toe it should have looked identical in appearance at least. However, such was not the case, as any onlooker could clearly see that whatever Axcel had created was indeed no clone. It was, for lack of better term, a god damned failure.

“I don’t think I did it right. . .” Axcel said, speaking as if there was an off chance that he did do it right and had mistook his creation for incomplete. Of course, that ‘chance’ he seemed to hint at was nonexistent. The entire statement itself was idiotic, of course he hadn’t done it right! The bunshin beside him was anything but right. It’s eyes were of two different colors, none of which were the same as the amber hues Axcel’s own eyes had. It’s face was grotesque and resembled that of a zombie, and the it’s limbs were everywhere! It had like, four arms sprouting off various places and it’s legs were bent backwards--the bunshin was clearly not human!

How in god’s name did Axcel screw up the jutsu this bad? It was a tale that would need to be solved another day, for Axcel needed to learn this technique with, as Shouta mentioned earlier, haste. He thought to dispel the jutsu, recalling it instantly, but instead opted to forcefully cause the bunshin to disappear with a swift kick to it’s. . . deformed looking skull. With a single kick, the bunshin would become but a veil of smoke, fading into nothingness. In the very instant it disappeared, whatever thoughts it had accumulated during it’s few moments of existence would immediately transfer into Axcel and organize itself within the lad’s brain.

The thoughts were nothing short of negative, but regardless, Axcel got a first hand experience of what Shouta had mentioned earlier. It was the fact that he indeed did acquire the thoughts of the malformed creation that Axcel had spawned roughly a minute or so ago that meant he had performed the jutsu correctly in at least one aspect. He, however, was very aware that the technique lacked the fully functioning chakra system that it was supposed to have. It was something that needed to be fixed if Axcel hoped to learn the technique at hand.

So how did the lad intend on remedying his failure? It was simple--he was going to try his hand at the technique once more, hoping for the best! He merely fell and needed to get back up was all--it was repetition. The more attempts he made at the technique, the more likely it was that he would eventually succeed. This, of course, meant that he would have to be making progress with each attempt. Not only that, but he would need to overcome any hurdle he would run into. Regardless, the technique shouldn’t be that hard, right?

Yosh. . . Axcel prepared himself to give the technique another go, thunder cackling behind him as he brought his hands together to form the special hand seal which Shouta had demonstrated earlier. Chakra surged through his body, flowing freely as the lad molded it appropriately. Being a master of ice based jutsu, it felt weird not making use of nature manipulation when molding chakra, as things like this were generally outside of his comfort zone. Regardless, he intended to conquer the technique without fail. This time he was certain the technique would be his to claim.

“Kage Bunshin no Jutsu!” Axcel exclaimed, his chakra roaring as he did. In an instant, a cloud of smoke would envelop the area beside him. Moments later would the smoke fade away into the air and Axcel would gaze upon the creation before him. This time he had without a doubt in his mind succeeded at creating a perfect copy. It looked just like him! It was no illusion either--Axcel felt half of his chakra split into two halves. It was an odd feeling to have your chakra divide into two halves in an instant, yet it was a sacrifice Axcel was willing to make given the nature of the technique.

Now, all that was left to see if the technique could make use of the techniques Axcel knew. It had already been given it’s orders before it’s creation, so it knew what to do. It was going to attempt to use the Frost Armament technique--a jutsu unique to those who carried Axcel’s Kekkei Genkai. If the clone could do it, then it was a definite success. The copy flashed through three handseals using a single hand, a clear sign it inherited Axcel’s mastery over the art, and without pause, a icy armguard would form around the bunshin’s wrist. Not but a few moments later would the technique shift in shape several times, exactly as the technique was capable of. A success.

“Hell yeah! I did it!” Axcel exclaimed, punching the air with his fist in celebration. The technique was successful, and he had managed to master it in two tries and within a few minutes. It was a high level technique to boot--he was genuinely surprised with himself. If it did everything Shouta claimed it to be able to, then it was well worth the time and effort. Axcel hadn’t expected to learn such a useful technique as he traverse Kaminari no Kuni. Likewise, he hadn’t expected to run into an old acquaintance either.

Axcel would dispel the jutsu and bow quickly towards Shouta. “Thank you, Shouta,” He said, his thanks being genuine. “Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like the weather wants us to reacquaint with one another.” It was true--the weather was especially harsh today. The sky crackled with vicious thunders and lightning illuminated the dark scene every few moments, with rain and wind refusing to let up, only worsening with every passing moment.

“I suppose this means goodbye. Until next time, Shouta!” Axcel said, before disappearing in a plume of smoke.
