Helping the orphans! [Mission, Estilo, closed]

It was pleasant, seeing all those joyful looks on the orphan's faces. It made what me and Yukiko did here all worth it. As we led the single file of children into the actual mansion, the excitement oozing from them only increased in intensity. I anxiously waited for the head mistress Reiko to open the door, fearing that their excitement might just get out of hand and I'd soon having them running amok the property without restraint! But luckily for me and my little sister, the young woman had opened the door just in time to welcome us all in. I ushered the kids in as Reiko greeted us optimistically, and it was nice to return from the thrill of a chase into the warmth of the mansion's interior.

She would explain the room situation to all the children present as I continued to look around, noticing slight changes to the interior when last I had been here. Changes Miss Reiko and her subordinates had surely had a hand in. And all in all, it looked well. Definitely the place I had in mind when I had first embarked on this mission. When the head mistress handed me a list, asking me to escort the boys to their respective rooms, I nodded with a smile. "You got it, dear." I replied, flashing her a warm look before spinning to the congregation of children gathered in the living room. "Alright, kids! Listen!"

After catching their attention with a brief wave, I'd continue. "All the boys, follow me. About time you all got your rooms assigned, hm?" After basking in the cheers of their excitement, I'd gesture for them to follow as we went on our way to the dorms of this large mansion. One by one, using my list as the primary resource, I'd assign rooms to the children. The toddlers, the kids, and some that were on the brink of hitting their teens. It was all fairly easy, seeing as the boys not only respected what I did, but were pumped to get to their new rooms and brandish it with their own style of posters and items. It took me a good fifteen minutes to navigate through those hallways, however, but those minutes passed by fairly smoothly.

When I was done, folding the list and setting it on a cabinet in clear view of the hallway- in case Miss Reiko had use for it again at some point- I entered the living room from which we had entered. There I would meet Yukiko, after she'd finished her own task, and Miss Reiko. "Well, all done here, I suppose?" I smiled to the head mistress. "I have a good feeling this place is gonna explode with cheers and shrieks when the kids unwrap their house-warming presents tomorrow." I chuckled. "If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know. If not, then I suppose me and Yukiko should head out. We need a good night's rest for our travel to Kumogakure tomorrow. Unless, of course, Yukiko's willing to make the trip right now." Which was plausible, considering I had a horse-drawn carriage at my disposal.

All of the girls flocked around the female with excited looks at their faces. "I suppose we can take the ground floor first" suggested Yukiko as they started on their 'room giving' tour. The first one to get her room was Eiko, who was over the moon when she saw the room.
It contained a nice bed, a desk with a comfortable chair, a cupboard with new clothes, a small bookshelf, a small vanity table plus a small chest of drawers attached to the desk for personal belongings. Her room was painted in pale purple and a pair of gold and white striped curtains framed the window.

It appeared that the rooms at the ground floor had the same French style to them. "Time for floor one!" announced the girl as she lead the four last girls up to the first floor. "Room number 207: Megumi Yukimura" announced the Genin when they reached the bedrooms at first floor.
A nine-year old girl with pale ashblond hair and ice blue eyes stepped forwards. She opened her room before she let out a loud squeal in happiness.

Her room was similar to Eiko's but it had been painted in pale yellow while the curtains were light brown. All of her furniture was made in a paler type of wood compared to the previous rooms. "Room 208: Amaya Honda" said the female as she looked at the list.
A nine-year old female with brown hair and hazel eyes stepped forwards and opened the door. "Whoa...it's so nice" muttered Amaya; her room was the same as Megumi's apart from the pale blue walls plus the white curtains.

The trio went up to the second floor so they could get their room. "Room number 300: Teruko Fujiyama" informed the brunette. A girl with auburn hair paired with forest green eyes took a step forwards.
Her room had peach walls while her curtains were offwhite. "Last but not least...Sumiko Himura will live in room number 302" announced the girl. An 11-year old girl with orange hair and blue eyes entered her room.

She was met with a room painted in light brown while minty green curtains covered the window. "I better go back down now; I hope you enjoy your new rooms" stated Yukiko as she went back down to the ground floor. Her male partner plus the female who had requested the mission waited for them.
"Well, all done here, I suppose?" inquired Atlas as he smiled to the head mistress. "Yes...thank you so much for the assistance" beamed Rieko.

"I have a good feeling this place is gonna explode with cheers and shrieks when the kids unwrap their house-warming presents tomorrow. If there's anything else I can help with, please let me know.
If not, then I suppose me and Yukiko should head out. We need a good night's rest for our travel to Kumogakure tomorrow. Unless, of course, Yukiko's willing to make the trip right now." informed the young man.

"Uhm...Rieko-san? Can I wish Minako-san a happy birthday before we leave tomorrow? You see, I promised her to wish her a happy birthday tomorrow since we have birthday on the same day" requested the female.
"Just make sure that you get here before 1 PM. We're having a birthday party tomorrow and I told Minako-chan that she could invite six of her friends over at that time" informed the woman.

"We will. See you tomorrow" said the Genin as she gave the brunette a polite bow. She would then exit the mansion, hopefully with her senpai right behind her.
"I can't wait to get home tomorrow! Will be kinda cool to have two identical numbers as your age" exclaimed the girl as they headed for the hotel.

"Ha, ha. So one of the orphans shares a birthday with you, huh? Nice to see you so excited, kiddo!" I smiled, walking out of the orphanage with her as we approached the horse-drawn carriage. Another ride for tonight, and for the day after, before turning in these horses back to the daimyo. I had to admit, it was pretty exciting. I hadn't been behind the reins in ages, and now that I had, I was hard-pressed to let that sort of experience go. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if horse racing became a hobby of mine back in Kumogakure. Helping my little sister up onto the driver's bench once more, as being the big brother that I was naturally lead me to provide such help, I hopped back on board and started our drive to the hotel. Time to get some rest!

Morning. Having woken up early for the event that was Yukiko's eleventh birthday ( hooray! ) I had silently managed to produce a scroll from my belongings and begun the tedious task of inscribing within it the details of a contract. There, on a large desk located in our hotel room's spacious living room, I finalized the gift I had sought to present to her for a long while now. A scroll that summoned- me. It, perhaps, wouldn't mean that much to her. But to me, it meant a lot. I was placing my safety in her hands, in order to ensure she had an ace up her sleeve should she ever find herself in a difficult and dangerous situation.

When I was done, I rolled up the scroll and tied it with a bright red ribbon. Placing it away safely on my person, hidden from clear view, I released a content sigh as I landed back on the comfortable couch. It was still early morning, and the second present I had prepared for my little sister was already waiting for her at the side of her bed- on a cabinet. It'd be one of the first things she'd see as she woke up- a small package, wrapped in green and topped off with a nice white ribbon. Inside of it? A two-way transceiver, customized to her liking. The newest in high-tech shinobi gear, a real treat! Hopefully, she'd like it.

For now, however, I'd focus on getting the best and most scrumptious breakfast up here! She needed to start her birthday off with a good meal, after all, and a handful of ryo went a long way in the hotel's rather expensive kitchen. By the time Yukiko would wake up, a freshly made breakfast would be awaiting her at the dinner table. Her favorite breakfast, something I had remembered after months of traveling around with her, waiting for her appetite! When she entered the small dining room- which was basically like an extension of the living room- I would be there to greet her. Surely she had opened her first present by now, and gotten ready for her big day! "Happy Birthday, Little Sister!" I beamed, pulling out a chair for her. A cake and proper party awaited her at Kumogakure, and for now I'd cherish the time I had to celebrate.

"Ha, ha. So one of the orphans shares a birthday with you, huh? Nice to see you so excited, kiddo!" laughed the male as they went towards the carriage. He lifted her onto the drivers seat again before they trotted towards the hotel. A small smile formed on the female's face...she would be 11 tomorrow!

Yukiko would get in bed at 8:40 PM after she had watched a couple anime shows as well as getting ready for the night. 'I wonder what senpai has bought for me' thought the girl as she went to bed. She would find out tomorrow...her parents would celebrate her birthday when she got home.
'Maybe I will get some new shinobi stuff that I can use later on. That would be cool' thought the Genin before she closed her eyes.


THE NEXT DAY.[/u]


A small yawn was made when the female woke up. Atlas was not there, so she decided to watch at some anime shows. 'Can't believe I'm 11 now...just two more years until I become a teenager' thought the now 11-year old girl.
She then noticed the present that was at the dresser. 'Maybe I should wait until senpai gets back' thought the girl as she went into the bathroom.

She put on her clothes before she brushed her hair a bit back. The brunette was about to tie her headband around her head when she heard the door close. 'Senpai is back!' thought the female with a grin as she exited the bathroom.
"Happy birthday little sister!" exclaimed the brunette with a huge smile. A nice breakfast stood at the table; it was all the stuff she liked to eat.

"THANK YOU SENPAI!" yelled Yukiko before she gave him a hug. She sat down at the table and started on her delicious breakfast. Her breakfast consisted of a small bowl with warm chicken ramen, orange soda, some grapes plus a chocolate muffin.
All of it tasted delicious; this was one of her best birthday breakfasts EVER. "I'll open that present now" informed the girl after she had finished the muffin.

Small fingers teared apart the green paper to see what was inside. Her present turned out to be some sort of radio that looked quite new. "Uhm...can you please tell me what this is senpai?" inquired the Genin.
She was more than thankful for her present, but she had no idea what it was. The thing in her hand was a lot more fancy than the radio her mother used after all.

I took in her hug with a joyful laugh, returning the gesture firmly as I patted her back and gave her an affectionate peck on the head. It was great to see that my planning had gone to good use, that it had actually turned out to be something that instilled delight into my little sister's heart. "Ha ha, no problem at all, kiddo." I smiled, my face the epitome of merriment. "It's your birthday! I want you to enjoy every minute of it." It was then that we proceeded to have our breakfast. Noticing the wide smile that spread across her face, I knew that the breakfast idea too had been a success. I sat down to eat my eggs, toast, bacon and ham, a knife and a fork in hand while I sat across from Yukiko.

When she proceeded to open the gift she had brought in from her room, I looked on with happy anticipation in my eyes, chewing a piece of toast I had in my mouth. The moment of truth! I hoped she liked it! When she withdrew the two-way transceiver from the small box, I awaited a response, noticing that- although her face showed thankfulness and delight- she was a little confused after what this expensive device was. She was only eleven, after all!

"It's a 'two-way transceiver'." I answered cheerfully. "Newest tech in Kumogakure, a real handy piece of equipment to have. I have one too, see. A lot of Kumogakure shinobi do. It allows you to keep in touch with your teammates from vaaaaast distances." I wasn't even emphasizing, but the fact that I sported a big grin made it seem like I was. "It's water-resistant, too. And it can host both public and private radio signals, for special missions. Pretty cool, right?"

Having explained her first present, I wandered back to wondering when I would give her the second. Perhaps, when we reached Kumogakure? And although the scroll had already been created, I would have to explain to her the mechanics behind summoning techniques. Perhaps even teach her. There were much more effective ways of summoning people and weapons- such as tattoos- but those were out of the question until she was much, much older. For now, this summoning scroll I had prepared for her- and the technique she would have to learn to activate it- was enough. I nibbled onto a piece of honey ham I had pronged on my fork, smiling still, waiting for a response from her.

Soon we'd finish here, and move on to the orphanage!

"Let's visit the orphanage before we go back home to Kumogakure. I'm just gonna to wish Minako-san a happy birthday" said Yukiko as she put on her winter clothes.

The girl jogged towards the orphanage two blocks away. It did not take her long to reach the large wooden doors that served as the entrance.
"Good morning Yukiko-chan! Are you here to say happy birthday to Minako-chan?" inquired the older woman with a smile on her face as she opened up.
"Yup, we will go back home to Kumogakure today" replied the Genin as she adjusted her backpacker a little bit.

"She just came home from school...you'll find her in the kitchen" informed Rieko. The female jogged into the kitchen where she found the redhead drinking some orange juice. "Happy birthday Minako-san!" exclaimed the brunette.
The said female whirled around to see who had said that to her. "Ah, happy birthday to you too Yukiko-san! Have you gotten any presents so far?" asked Minako as she put down her glass.

"I got a two-way tranceiver from my senpai...it's a bit like a walkie-talkie. Have you gotten anything?" inquired the older female with a small smile."I got some new colour pencils, hair elastics with matching hair clips, a book, new earstuds plus a matching necklace and my relatives will give me their presents at New Years.
I switch on celebrating in Hi no Kuni or Mizu no Kuni since that's were my cousins, uncles and aunts lives. This year is Hi no Kuni" replied the girl.

"Good to hear that you're not gonna celebrate alone. I gotta go now I'm afraid so have a happy birthday Minako-san. This is my birthday present to you" informed Yukiko as she handed her the special edition of Sailor Luna she had bought two months ago.
"Thank you so much, I'll send you a present if you leave your adress!" exclaimed the redhead with a grin.

"It's inside the book. Good bye" said the girl after they had given each other a happy birthday hug. She went out of the house with a huge smile on her face.
"Let's get back home to Kumogakure senpai...I cannot wait to see my family again! We're gonna have a family birthday after I get home. But I need to buy some new secondary weapons first" informed the Genin.

After she had bought her new weapons, they would exit Kami no Shima with a smile on their faces. Both of the shinobis had helped thirty orphans plus their headmistress and this mission had been quite fun too. 'Maybe I should learn some more fuuton jutsus once I get home from my mission' thought the female.
The kamatachi that she had learned was quite effective...not to mention dangerous. Snow clouds gathered on the sky; it was almost like the sky wanted to give the Yukina a small gift as well.
