Helping the orphans! [Mission, Estilo, closed]

Some steps could be heard behind one of the doors. The female stepped a little closer as she saw the top of the male's head appear. He had a blue ball decorated with a star in his hand...perhaps that was why he was in that room.
"Go, go, go, go!" muttered Atlas with a rather scared look on his face. Yukiko then saw what he was running away from; it was the scariest rat she had ever seen!

That MONSTER was almost a third of her size while the teeth were long, yellow as well as sharp. "IIIIIIIK!" screamed the girl as she stepped backwards as fast as possible. Her face was as white as the first part in her name while her eyes were as wide as saucers.
But the young man managed to lock the door just in time before they both let out a sigh in relief. "I hate rats." muttered the Chuunin as they went back to the room where the children were measured.

"Me too" replied the Genin as they exited out of the office.
More voices could be heard as they approached the room. Ten more kids who were in kindergarten uniforms had arrived; the youngest kids were now here.
"Good to see that you're back. You need to help me with measuring these kids before you can go shopping for the things we need" informed the young woman as she gestured the male to stand next to her.

All of the kindergarten kids appeared to be more impatient, but the older kids had fortunately left the room. They had probably gone down to pack their items since they would leave later today. Suddenly, the female noticed that there was a number of catalogues on the table.
"Could you please look at what the kids have written up on their lists and find out what shop that sells them Yukiko-san? There are two large toyshops in town that should cover most of it" said Rieko.

"Sure; I'll put an X on the lists I have read" replied the brunette as she sat down at the table. There were 20 lists with five wishes on each...which meant that there would be 100 things in total!
'Don't panic Yukiko. Maybe some of the kids have written up the same stuff' thought the girl as she picked up the first five lists.

All of the said lists belonged to boys who were between nine and eleven years old. 'Hm...many of these guys wants a Mintendo Bii with different games on. Maybe we can buy two Mintendo Bii's with four controls each' thought Yukiko as she looked at the lists.
She knew that games at most consoles were designed for four players at the time, which meant that eight people could use the consoles. Her eyes studied the rest of the wishing lists that had been picked out from the bunch.

Some of the children wanted something simple like a football or their favourite books. Others wanted something more expensive like a portable Gamestation or a bike. 'I'm not sure if we can afford ALL of this...but perhaps some of the shops have sales since Christmas is coming up' thought the female.
Her hand picked up a catalogue that was from 'Toysarus Rex' that had the familiar logo of a pink T-Rex on the top. Page number one had a very nice offer that looked interesting.

'They have a sale on both versions of Mintendo Bii's if you buy them before 6 PM tomorrow. Footballs and basketballs are on sale too...not weird since it's winter' thought the Genin.
She decided to make a small fold at the pages in the catalogue so she could go through it afterwards with her senpai.
This would be the more fun part of the mission; the girl was on the same age as some of the kids there. "Can you please come here and help me when you're done senpai?" asked the brunette as she turned towards him.

With that troubling event finally behind me, I followed my younger companion to the room in which we had entered. It was there that I discovered the gathering of kindergarten children present- the other nowhere to be seen, most likely gone to the new orphanage in wait. Politely, I'd nod when the mistress acknowledged my presence and asked me to help, but my eyes didn't stop scanning the room for the one kid I had retrieved this starred ball for. And sure enough, there he was, standing beside the exit in anxious wait. He'd stayed behind to wait and see if I'd succeeded, and when he spotted me, he came running over.

"Thank you, mister!" He beamed, pushing his glasses up the bridge of his nose before taking the ball from my grasp. "I have to go now, but thank you!" And with that done, he hurried out the door, to rejoin his group and make way to the new orphanage. Smiling, I turned my attention back to the group crowded in front of me. Yukiko had gone off to review the lists that had been given and schedule the stores we would need to visit in order to attain the gifts. And me? I was to calculate the height of each little one, to ensure that we bought the properly sized clothing for each. But for kindergarteners? This was going to be too easy; as my experience as a father in the past attested.

The thing with children's clothing was that it usually came in only a few specific sizes, normally categorized as one through to the number five, for kids of a particularly husky frame. Standing beside the mistress, as she too kept a visage over the anxious and restless children, I chuckled as I shook my head. "Quite a handful, I'd imagine. But I'm sure you've had enough experience with children of this nature to know that taking their measurements shouldn't take that long. We're not shopping for tuxes, after all." I added with a gleam in my eye.

"Hee, hee... I suppose not." She replied, somewhat affected by the charm I had intended to deliver. Handling children was only difficult if you made it so. With us two, the only adult figures in the current setting, I was almost certain we'd be able to handle them appropriately. Plus, we had one of them on our side, right? "You think you can make out how much sizes we'll need? I'll try to keep them in line for you."

"That'd be wonderful." I beamed, giving her a nod as I approached the group of kids. Scanning over them with my eyes, as my hand reached for the pen and paper on the desktop nearby, I started to gauge the sizes they would require. The thing with children their age, however, was that they were all primarily the same size. Only a handful of them seemed to require special sizes, such as a one or five. All I really had to do was right down the number of kids present, the sizes for each, and the quantity of clothing for all in total. That included t-shirts, jackets, shorts, pants, and other wear. When I was done, I handed the finished paper to the mistress with a blithe wink. "All done, m'lady."

Just then, Yukiko asked for help. Promptly, I'd strode towards her current position. "Sure, what's up? You ready to head out and buy those things?" I asked cheerfully, surveying the list she was currently working on. Money wasn't the problem, I could almost guarantee that.

"Sure, what's up? You ready to head out and buy those things?" inquired the male as he approached her. "Not yet...we haven't read all of the lists yet. I've already read these five, so maybe you can help me with the rest" replied the female as she handed him ten lists. She took another five lists while the older woman was writing up a list for the kindergarten children.

The younger ones were after all unable to write and the two-three year olds could probably not decide on more than two things. 'Eiko wants that doll she told me about, new crayons for school, a new teddy bear, Sailor Luna tankobons and a pair of roller blades' thought Yukiko as she read the list.
She would at least keep her promise with the doll. Next up was a wishing list that had a familiar name to it as well; the names 'Haruo Fujiwara' was written at the top of the list.

At least three of the things he wanted were similar to the things that her brothers had wanted for Christmas. Which was not odd since they were boys within the same age group. After the girl was done reading the lists, she put them into a plastic bag that also contained the kindergarten children's wishing list.
"I'm done now senpai! But I think we should go to the bank first so we can take out the money we're going to use" announced the Genin.

She looked down at the watch on her wrist; it was 1:50 PM. 'The banks usually close a lot earlier than the shops according to what mum told me. But senpai probably know this already' thought the female as she stood up.
"Please be back before 6:30 PM since the youngest are going to bed at 7 PM. The new orphanage is about fifteen minutes away by foot" informed Rieko.

But going to the new orphanage would probably take longer time than that. Kami no Shima was a bit scarier at daytime since the darkness hid so many nasty things. "We will try our best Rieko-san. I mean, we have to buy lots of stuff for the children" stated the brunette as she tied her headband around her neck. She then exited the building with the catalogues in a plastic bag.

"Hey, a map over Kami no Shima!" exclaimed the girl as she looked down in the plastic bag. She folded out the map to see where everything was located. The current and the new orphanage had been marked with a red 'X'.
"Where is the closest bank? We have to get there first" muttered Yukiko as she looked at the map; banks as well as malls were marked at the map.

Now that we were all set to head off and buy the gifts for the children, I would let out a big pleasant sigh. "Oh-kay." I smiled, turning left, then right. Gauging the street we were currently on. "Banks, banks..." I mused, trying to remember where the closest one was as Yukiko looked over her map. "OH. I think I know where it is, actually. C'mon, I'll take the lead from here, huh?" And with that, I'd begin to guide my little sister through the somewhat complicated streets of outer Kami no Shima. Yeah, I had a good fix on it... I thought. A few minutes into our walking, and I suddenly realized that I was slightly lost. Not wanting to inform Yukiko- for the sake of my pride- I kept it cool and casual. Uhhh... hrm. Yes, I'm sure it was this street... I think, I mused. Continual thoughts of doubt and trepidation. We were timed, after all.

Passing a myriad of paths- Myoko, Sachiga, Yumina, Ryuta- streets named after feudal lords, generals, daimyos, past Raikages, and honored soldiers. Then finally- one that I managed to recognize. It was this street that would lead me to the bank I sought so feverishly- Burabiya Avenue. No, not named after me, the Nidaime Raikage. But after the man who is said to be my ancestor. An Akegarasu who played a very influential part in the construction of Kami no Shima, and the destiny of Kumogakure. Wondering whether Yukiko remembered my surname or not, I continued on. "Almost there," I informed her. "Just a few blocks away." Which was very good, considering the fact that we had wasted almost all the time we could have wasted walking to our destination. At last, we made it to said bank and promptly entered.

At the entrance, in the presence of a few cushioned seats and couches- not to mention complimentary coffee, water bottles and candy- I told Yukiko to wait. "Rest here for a bit." I said. "I'll go withdraw the ryo needed with my account- be back in a sec." Striding up to the nearest open receptionist, I smiled. A cheeky blonde, behind a strong panel of glass, waiting for my order. "Good evening. I'd like to access my onyx account. Confirmation for you, right here." It was then that I took out an onyx black card- shiny, with the insignia of Kumogakure embedded on one side, and a full line of numbers on the other. "It's going to total about eight-thousand ryo." Though I had the check the mistress of the orphanage had given me, I didn't plan on using it. It would be a nice little surprise to give back to that young beauty once I returned.

Having obtained the ryo needed, I pocketed the bills, took my receipt, secured my account card and identification I.D, then returned to Yukiko. "All done, sis~" I smiled, advancing towards the coffee maker they had in the lounge area and pouring myself a nice vanilla latte with whip cream. Once it was nice and ready, within the time frame of a minute, I turned back to her- ready to leave. "Let's head out now. We've got all the ryo we'll need. And I've got a little caffeine in my system!" I added with a cheerful grin, sipping at my latte.

"OH. I think I know where it is, actually. C'mon, I'll take the lead from here, huh?" exclaimed the male as they started on their walk.
The female followed him through a myriad of streets spread over this district in Kami no Shima. At one point, Atlas appeared to be slightly confused when they reached Ryuta street.

"Almost there, just a few blocks away." informed the young man as they continued on their trip. Yukiko noticed the name on the street - Burabiya avenue. 'Is that street named after senpai!?' thought the girl in disbelief as they walked towards the bank.
Both of them entered the rather large lobby of the bank they would get their cash. She looked around...this was a nice place.

"Rest here for a bit. I'll go withdraw the ryo needed with my account- be back in a sec." said the Chuunin. 'Hm...I think I'll take some water since I don't like coffee' thought the Genin as she took one of the water bottles.
She gulped down some water before she unwrapped some of the candy in the large bowl. 'Euuugh...fudge' thought the female as she chewed on the first one.

Fudge was one of the very few candy things that the brunette did not like at all. The next one turned out to be lemon, which was a lot more tasty. Her male partner returned with a smile on his face.
"All done, sis, let's head out now. We've got all the ryo we'll need. And I've got a little caffeine in my system!" stated the chestnut brunette with a grin.

"OK. I think we should split up if the clothing shops and the toy stores are located in the same shopping mall or the same street" suggested the female as she picked up the catalogues. The clothing catalogue that the woman had given them was for a shop named 'I&M', which had a large store in Kami no Shima.
"I&M is located at Fuujin mall while the Toysaurus Rex adress is at Tenrai street. Are those two places at the same place?" asked Yukiko as she folded out the map. She knew that they had walked for about ten minutes to get to the bank.

Her eyes then checked where the shoe shop was. 'Amaterasu avenue. At least it's an easy name to remember' thought the girl as she checked the map for the whereabouts. "I found the street where the shoeshop is senpai" informed the Genin before she pointed at the 'Amaterasu avenue' mark.
It was only five blocks away from the bank, but she had no clue how far away the other shops where. "I hope you're strong enough to carry all the stuff we have to buy" chuckled the female as she looked at him.

"Of course!" I answered, flexing a single arm as I held my vanilla latte with the other hand- walking with Yukiko towards the location of the store. "I'm as strong as an ox! Those bags are going to be a breeze!"

One shoe shop, clothing store & toy palace later. . .

There was no explanation. I could not fathom how I had overestimated the sheer weight of these presents and clothes. And being the gentleman that I was, of course, I had simply demanded that Yukiko only carry two bags of toys- while I carried the rest of the large load. Our purchased items jingled and jangled in their packages as I struggled along, heaving and lagging onwards like an old pack mule on its last trip. Waaay heavier than I had intially expected, but I didn't let it show. My pride, remember? I had to play the role of the golden senpai to my younger sister, I couldn't afford to look weak or unwilling!

Both my hands clenched with determination, my fingers all preoccupied with holding the bags I carried on the edge, blisters beginning to occupy the spaces on my palms. Luckily for me, however, I had already gotten half of the trip covered. In due time, at the pace we were currently walking at, we'd make it to the new orphanage before seven 'o clock. At least, I hoped so. I couldn't be sure that I wouldn't be compelled to drop the bags and rest for a bit. It was simply a matter of willpower and physical anguish- which would triumph over which?

We were headed down a lonely street- a boulevard. at that- as we continued on. I was, to the say the least, a little surprised to see that it was this empty right now. Typically, the inhabitants of Kami no Shima stayed awake for long hours through the night. This was, no doubt, a rare and somewhat strange occurrence. Making sure I stayed close to my little sister, who was currently walking faster than me, I also tried to keep taps on the merchandise I was carrying- just to ensure that nothing fell out, to prevent the unfortunate scenario that some kid might not receive his or her present. Then I heard it- a noise.

It sounded like mice scuttling in straw, underlined by the distant muttering of some raspy male voice, arguing with an equally sharp female. I stopped for a moment, taking notice of my surroundings. Was somebody hiding here, and scoping us out? There was a dark alley, shady rooftops, abandoned apartment complexes. Where had that sound come from? Then it happened again. Another scuffle, like boots walking across a dusty wooden floorboard, and those two distant voices- arguing again, but not clearly audible to my ears. I turned down to Yukiko, "Did you hear something?" I whispered.

"I'm as strong as an ox! Those bags are going to be a breeze!" replied the male with a grin on his face. "Good, let's go to the toy shop first. That's were we need the most stuff" suggested the female as they went out of the bank. A mission like this ought to be fun unless something bad happened.

Three hours later.[/u]

"Whoa...this is the first time I've bought so much stuff at once" muttered Yukiko as they went towards the new orphanage. It was good that Toysaurus Rex would send the largest toys to the new orphanage after a phone to the older woman. Because there was NO WAY they would be able to carry five footballs, one dollhouse, two basketballs, two football goals, three gaming consoles with controls as well as nine bicycles in varying sizes.
'At least senpai was nice enough to carry the heaviest toys and most of the clothing we had bought. I have to thank him when we're done' thought the girl.

They were not far away from the new orphanage. According to the map, it was 200 meters away from this bouleward. 'Weird...there are barely any people here' thought the Genin as she looked around.
Rush hour was over now, but the streets they had gone through were more crowded than this one. One of the houses hosted a health clinic while others appeared to be abandoned for various reasons.

Chills ran down the female's spine when she heard something that sounded like the squeaks she had heard in the orphanage basement. 'Calm down, it's probably just some rats' thought the brunette as she kept going. She then heard a raspy voice that sounded like a guy.
A sharp voice that belonged to a woman followed straight afterwards. "Did you hear something?" whispered Atlas as she looked at her with a suspicious look.

"Yeah...I think it comes from the alley next to that brown house over there" replied the girl as she pointed towards a brown house on their right side. The said house was about 25 meters away from where they were now. Suddenly, she heard something that sounded like glass being stepped on.
Ice blue eyes looked around in the street to see where the source was. The answer revealed itself when a man suddenly emerged from the alley where they had heard the sound.

"Well hello there little girl. Can I please have a look at what you have in that bag?" asked the man as he approached the duo. He was about 20 meters away now...the Genin felt her heart race.
The man in front of her had brown hair and beige skin that appeared to be quite dirty. His clothes were quite worn out; maybe he was a poor man. "NO!" shouted the female as she started to gather her chakra.

"Tsk tsk. You should not be so rude" replied the man in a voice that made her sick for some reason. 'Dad told me that I should not use jutsus unless it is an emergency...this is one of those!' thought Yukiko.
She lifted both of her hands and launched off the handseals for one of the fuuton jutsus she knew. "Do you think you can keep him away for a second or so senpai!? I'm gonna blow him away with this one!" stated the girl.

Jutsu in preparation:

Kamaitachi (Cutting whirlwind). Can make 10 m wide and 20 m long tunnel.

Special: Size of tunnel opening measures 5 meters and wind blasts can travel 10 meters. Each time relearned, the mouth grows by 5 meters and the blast itself travels an extra 10 meters.
Description: This jutsu was brought to fame by a legendary Suna shinobi from long ago and was named after a mythical creature able to command the winds on a whim. After channeling wind chakra at either their weapon or limb, the user swings it around and brings forth a most intense tornado, coming out from the weapon/arm. Once it strikes the user, the tornado tips upward and takes the user up, keeping them imprisoned by the strong currents, and delivering multiple waves of cutting/slicing damage onto their bodies, as well as dropping them hard onto the ground afterward.

The moment that strange figure emerged from the alleyway, my eyes narrowed with suspicion, my feet placing themselves firmly into the ground in an act of guard. "Tch," I remarked, taking notice of the demeanor this raggedy vagabond held. "I was hoping we wouldn't come across something like this." The man would then approach Yukiko, subtly demanding she hand over the bags in her possession. When she denied his request, it was then that I knew things were going to get out of hand. And as I had hoped, Yukiko had dropped her bags and started a string of hand seals- no doubt preparing herself for a technique. She only needed me to hold the bandit back a second or two in order to launch off her counter. So I dropped the bags, a giant burden falling off of my shoulders, and replied. "You got it, kiddo."

But just as my arm reared up to shoot a senbon in the bandit's leg, a felt the cold prick of a kunai against my back. I should have predicted it sooner. The female voice I had heard in the background. Somehow, she had managed to sneak up behind us. And now I was practically being held hostage. "Where you going, big man?" She whispered as I stood still, a voice sickened with excessive tobacco as to almost sound like that of an old woman. With a kunai to my back, I listened as the female continued on, this time with a bit more of an aggressive tone. "Now... gimme everything you got in those pockets of yours, eh?"

With the bandit approaching Yukiko ever closer, I couldn't afford to stand around and play the victim. My little sister needed a second of time to cast her ninjutsu? She would have it. No kunai to the back was going to keep me from providing that favor. Before I even said anything, I was already in motion. I abruptly spun around, raising a single elbow, then crashing it into the female's face as her body staggered to her left and her kunai stabbed at thin air. It had only taken a split-second to do this, and in the split-second afterwards, I would unleash the single senbon I had stashed in the sleeve of my arm.

It would give a clean whizz through the air, successfully reaching its mark four inches deep within the male bandit's leg. When the man cried out in pain, stopping for a moment, I knew I had succeeded in keeping him preoccupied enough for Yukiko to release her ninjutsu. But now I had the female bandit to take care of. Upon turning around, however, I would find that the dirty woman had recovered from my previous attack faster than I had expected. I stopped inches before the kunai at my neck stabbed into my jugular and slit my throat. It was a very close-call, and here I was again- at her mercy. "That's NOT how you treat a lady." She hissed, holding me hostage once more, a bleeding lip and bruised nose. "Now gimme everything you got, bastard! Or I swear I'll cut you open real nice! Your own mother won't recognize you!"

A senbon whizzed past the female with its aim on the bandit. "GYAAAAAH!" screamed the male as he collapsed at the ground in pain. 'Thank you senpai!' thought Yukiko as she pulled out the butterfly knife she had in her pocket.
"FUUTON! KAMAITACHI!" screamed the girl as she sent the jutsu straight towards the thief. A tornado whipped up around him before it threw the adult up in the air like a ragdoll.

"That's NOT how you treat a lady. Now gimme everything you got, bastard! Or I swear I'll cut you open real nice!
Your own mother won't recognize you!" hissed a female voice behind her. The Genin whipped around and saw that a woman at her mothers age held a kunai against her male companion's neck.

"What are you gonna do now little brat? You cannot use your fuuton jutsu at me unless you want to harm your teammate as well" snickered the pale woman. A 'thump' could be heard in the background when the man felt to the ground, unconscious from the fuuton jutsu. He had wounds all over and the blood from them dyed the snow pale crimson.
'WHAT SHOULD I DO TO FREE ATLAS-SENPAI!? CALM DOWN YUKIKO!!!' shouted the girl inside her mind...panicking would not help her.

'Too bad I can't use senbons like senpai can. WAIT A SECOND! I have an idea!' thought the brunette as she remembered a jutsu her father had learned her for just two weeks ago.
'My dad told me to only use it in emergencies, but this is definitely one of these. But where should I hit the woman without hurting senpai!?' thought the female as she bit her lower lip.

Crystal blue eyes studied how the woman was standing. She appeared to be about 5'5" tall and had bent Atlas backwards so they were at the same height. Which meant that there was a gap between their bodies.
Yukiko then raised her eyebrows as she noticed that her legs were a bit further apart than his. 'That cruel woman won't be able to move if her legs are injured...here it goes' thought the girl as she started on some handseals.

A minute or two had passed since she had used the kamaitachi, but the man appeared to be conscious. He was however in too much pain to move; it would be safe.
"Handseals again? I thought I told you that the stupid fuuton jutsus would not work" sneered the woman as she wiggled her hand a little. The smaller female narrowed her eyes...she was PISSED.

Her eyes looked at the womans legs as well as her arms. "SHUT UP YOUR STUPID WOMAN!" screamed the Genin before she kicked some snow towards the said woman.
She screamed in pain before she dropped down at the ground. To get 50 ice needles into each leg was without doubt quite painful. Ice blue eyes widened in shock as she saw more blood fall down at the snow...despite that it didn't belong to the young man.

Consumption - Chakra Reduction I.

Chakra mastery allows the user excellent control over the chakra they use, how it's molded, and ultimately, how much is used, so much so that they can lower the chakra consumption of all mastery jutsu. When first learned, the user can cast jutsu of the mastery class for one chakra consumption tier less than normal. Each time re-acquired, cost continues to drop by one less tier each time.


Sensatsu suishou (Death by a thousand flying water needles).

Special: Strength and range of needles depends on user's highest 'Yuki no kami' rank. Up to 100 needles may be formed when first learned, plus 100 more each time retrained, up to a maximum of 1,000.
Description: After forming the needed hand seals, the clan member either kicks water into the air with their foot or gathers some from the air and surrounding environment. The water then rises into the air and takes the form of a thousand long needles. Directed to a specific target at high speeds, these needles then come raining down while leaping backwards before impact so as not to get caught in the crossfire. In the end, the needles surround the target from all sides, providing no form of escape whatsoever.

I remained perfectly calm during the whole ordeal. In my mind, I was never really in any immediate danger. Or perhaps I was? I didn't know any more, how to distinguish my pride from overconfidence. But I felt perfectly fine leaving my fate in the hands of Yukiko. Even as the woman threatened her and taunted, as a look of shock and fear appeared on her face for a split-second, I knew my little sister would come through. Then, without a moment to spare, she kicked into action. Almost literally. And before I realized it, I found myself moving too. Away from the kunai as the woman stumbled slightly backwards, the snow up in the air falling down and spreading like wet mud.

Then, in the mere second I had to hear it, a sound. The sound of ice in the air, moisture crystallizing, a sound like twigs snapping in the brush. I trusted her aim, no doubt about that, but I also wanted to create some distance from the wicked woman who had taken me hostage. Therefore, I executed a speedy body flicker before the icy senbon needles in the air converged in the general area where I used to be. By the time I flickered and found myself positioned a few meters behind Yukiko, the senbon had been launched, and the squelch of those frigid needles boring into the woman's leg flesh became audible. Blood splattered.

The wench cried out in agony, her legs bleeding as she tossed and turned on the little snow present there. It was not a pretty sight to see, and that was quite obvious as I turned to gaze upon the expression on my little sister's petite face. Shellshock. These bandits had quite obviously messed with the wrong shinobi, and they had paid a hefty price for it. But now, my main concern was getting Yukiko out of there, whilst calling in a medical team to pick up these poor fools. Raising a single hand, to power on my transceiver, I radioed in. "T19, Red Thunder calling in. I need a medical unit on Kurikato Boulevard, ASAP. An injured female and male, both are to be taken into custody for attempted robbery." Turning to the presents I had dropped, I continued to issue my order. "I could also use a few hands to deliver a package of sorts. Address, Yurihana Street, 1312."

With that done, it was high time to leave this place and continue on to the orphanage. It didn't surprise me to see that look of shock on my little sister's face, but I didn't pride myself on not being surprised. Instead, I sighed, walking over to little sister and patting her shoulder. "C'mooon, snow pea. We gotta go." I pressured. "We've still got to get to the orphanage in time. I'll have someone else deliver the presents, they'll take care of all this. Let's go." Grasping her small hand, I led her away from the battle scene. A mixture of pride in her skills and personal shock in the results of such techniques spawned within my heart. But she had, after all, saved me. And I was more than thankful for it. "Oh, and kiddo?" I added, keeping my gaze forwards as we hurried along towards the orphanage. "Thanks for the save."

[Yuki-chan]

'No wonder dad warned me on taking missions like these' thought the female as she saw at the two bandits on the ground. Both of them had numerous wounds that were bleeding while they cried in pain. And it was all HER doing.
She looked down in the snow while she thought over what she had done. Yukiko had injured two people quite seriously, despite that the reason was self-defense.

A small gasp escaped her lips as she felt a hand on her shoulder. "C'mooon, snow pea. We gotta go, we've still got to get to the orphanage in time. I'll have someone else deliver the presents; they'll take care of all this. Let's go." informed Atlas as he took her hand.

"OK" replied the girl as she picked up one of the bags she had to carry. It was the one that contained the doll she had promised to buy for Eiko.
"Oh, and kiddo? Thanks for the save" said the young man as they jogged towards the new orphanage. "I'm happy to finally be able to save you senpai" answered the Genin with a somewhat brighter look on her face.

She heard several pairs of feet walking through the snow behind them. The female turned her head and saw five police officers arriving at the spot. Four of them got the thieves up on their legs before handcuffing them while the last one gathered the bags.
'That's right...Senpai would be badly injured if I didn't use my jutsus. Kami knows what would have happened to me if I didn't defeated that man' thought the brunette.

Her eyes turned forwards after they had rounded the corner of the street. Ice blue optics widened as they saw the new orphanage that laid in front of them. The mansion reminded her almost of those large British houses in the sitcom her mother watched.
A large garden was in front of it with a number of trees; one of them was actually in bloom. She pushed the iron gate up a bit so they could get into the estate.

A familiar woman jogged towards them with an eager look in her face. "You guys did a great job on picking the large presents, we just got them in.
All of the kids are spending the night in the old orphanage...I'm heading there now" informed Rieko with a big smile on her face.
"As for you two, the daimyo said that you could spend the night at Amagumo hotel. He wants you get the new bedsheets tomorrow before you escort all the children over here before 4 PM" said the female.

"Uhm...can you please make sure that Eiko-san gets the doll with the purple dress?" inquired Yukiko as she handed her the bag. "Sure thing. Oh, your hotel is right over there" answered the brunette as she pointed at a 4 out of 5 star hotel further down the street.
"WHOA" muttered the Genin while their client gave the reservation details to the Chuunin. She had NEVER spent a night on such a fancy hotel before.

After a good amount of walking, we had finally reached our destination. The new orphanage that had been renovated specifically for the mistress and her parentless children. Compared to the last establishment, this new place was a palace. Almost literally. A lush green garden out front, despite the climate. Fresh new paint on the wooden exterior, and a gate that would be difficult for even shinobi to climb over in a single leap. Finally, these kids could live in a place without having to worry about a myriad of safety issues and poor living conditions. I had a feeling the ninja I had radioed in to pick up and deliver the presents, the same I had seen hopping across the rooftops as me and Yukiko kept a normal pace towards the new orphanage, had already delivered the presents. They worked fast like that.

My presumption was only verified when the head mistress of the orphanage came jogging out of the door, congratulating us on a job well done. Then informing us on the hotel the daimyo, a close friend of mine, had graciously treated us with, I would give a grateful nod. "Thank you. We'll be up and ready for our task tomorrow, miss. See you then." Placing the reservation papers within the inside pocket of my jacket, I patted my little sister on the shoulder. "C'mon, kiddo. Let's go." I smiled. Tomorrow would be an entirely new day, and we could put that potentially traumatizing event behind us.

The next day!

It's early morning, the bleak rays of sunlight managing to break through the thick mass of clouds above faintly warming the surface of my body. But it was, of course, countered by the occasional teeth-chattering cold breezes that swept through the streets of Kami no Shima. It was interesting fusion of weather, and I wasn't sure whether I liked it or not. Trying to focus on the pros, and a little less on the cons, I would continue to walk down the boulevard with my little sister. I gave a deep yawn as I stretched, all the while making sure I avoided the countless puddles of clear rain water on the stone cobbled streets.

Not only had the hotel treated us to a good breakfast, but I managed to obtain a hearty eight-hour sleep, something I rarely managed to enjoy these days- as the job of Nidaime Raikage took so much doing on my part. Relaxation was plastered all over my face as we continued to walk towards the old orphanage, perhaps a bit early, but just to make sure we were there when the children needed to be escorted. We were almost done here, in Kami no Shima, and the final part of this eventful little mission seemed like it was going to turn out all right. We passed Burabiya street once more, and I threw the sign a whimsical glance as we passed it. Nothing like one's own history to keep one's mind preoccupied. It only assured me that I'd return here afterwards.

[Yuki-chan]

"Thank you. We'll be up and ready for our task tomorrow, miss. See you then." said the male. "See you tomorrow Rieko-san" answered the female as they went towards the hotel.
Their room had two separate beds, a nicely sized TV plus a medium sized bathroom that actually had a bathtub that was nearly five feet long.

"I'll take a bath senpai" informed Yukiko as she locked the door to the bathroom. She washed her hair first before she put on a plastic cap that laid in the small basket on the sink. 'It feels a little unfair that me and senpai can sleep here while the orphans have to sleep in a house with rats' thought the girl.
But things would change for the better now since they now had a new orphanage that looked a lot better. Not to mention that they would get new toys, clothes, shoes as well as bedsheets.

Ice blue optics shut down while the owner enjoyed the bath that had quite a bit of foam in it. One of the things that the Genin LOVED was warm baths such as these or hot springs. 'I better get out now...I'm almost falling asleep here' thought the female before she stepped out.
After the teeth had been brushed, she went out of the bathroom so Atlas could use it. The brunette put on her pajamas and felt asleep when the clock approached 09:15 PM.

The next day.

Both of the shinobis were on their way towards the orphanage again. Cold winds paired with rain went through the somewhat deserted streets of Kami no Shima. The girl froze a little bit on her fingers while her waterproof and windproof jacket kept her relatively warm.
"There's the orphanage" announced Yukiko as she saw the familiar building. She noticed that the iron gates had been opened a little bit so they could get in.

A small note had been attached on the door; it had probably been hung up this morning. "We don't have a door bell yet. Please wait in the yellow living room when you arrive shinobis" read the female aloud as she looked at the note. She entered the new house and looked around.
A large hallway with a staircase situated at the end was the first thing they would see. The walls were painted in a colour that reminded her of the fancy coffees people used to drink at cafèes.

Crystal blue eyes then spotted a room with some creamy yellow wallpaper; maybe this was were they had to wait. The Genin went towards the room with the young man probably ahead of her...he had a sharp eye. "At least this is a living room" muttered the girl as she looked around.
A medium-sized television was placed on a TV table and two large dark blue sofas were placed fifteen feet in front of it. Some cupboards labeled 'Toddler toys' and 'Child toys' had been placed on the right.

A familiar woman entered the room behind them. "Good to see that you are here. You both look awake, so I will tell you a little about the bedsheets" announced Rieko as she handed the male brunette a sheet of paper.
"I have written up the size of the duvets as well as the colours you have to buy for each age group. You have probably noticed that the older children's bedsheet has less childish colours than the younger ones" informed the female.

I looked over the shopping list given to me, piercing green eyes scanning through the words and descriptions. It would no doubt be as big as the shopping we had done yesterday, and I was almost certain I would not be able to carry that entire load by myself this time. But it wasn't a big problem. At least, not a problem that I lacked the resources to fix. With a cheerful smile, I neatly folded the note and placed it away in my pocket. "You got it, m'lady. We'll be back sooner than you think." Looking around, I took further notice of the various boxes she and the other orphanage staff had packaged. It was a lot, and I couldn't help but wonder how they would transport their old but beloved items back to the new orphanage after this. It'd take... resources.

"Y'know," I started, pensively grasping the tip of my chin as I looked about. "You might actually need some help moving the last of your things out of here. I understand that the daimyo is sending a carriage here in the afternoon as well. Would you like some help packaging and loading up the last of these boxes, miss?" Turning down to Yukiko, I smiled. "Is that alright with you, kiddo? I figured we could divide our work force for the time being. Plus, looks like Rieko here could use a bit of help. And if you're willing..."

"It would be greatly appreciated." Reiko added, hands clasped politely to her front as she smiled. "I'm having some of the older children help me as well, so you'll be kept in company."

"There we go! Sounds like a plan. Now, if you'll excuse me ladies, I'll head out to buy those sheets now. Shouldn't take me longer than an hour, maybe an hour and a half." Giving Reiko a polite bow, and Yukiko a firm, reassuring pat on the shoulder, I maneuvered myself around the furniture located in the living room and exited. Once in the seclusion of the hallway, I raised a single hand to my ear, activating the transceiver located there. "Red Thunder, Unit One. Do you copy?"

( static ) Copy, Unit One responding. Ready for directive. ( static )

Keeping a finger pressed to the communication button, I continued. "I'm going to need some wheels ready at the closest retail store in my location. Preferably at the eleven-hundred hour. Large enough to carry a shipment of substantial weight. Copy?"

( static ) Roger that. Sending a unit on its way. ( static )

With that said done, I exited the old orphanage, leaping away onto the rooftops of the establishments nearby. Keeping a brisk pace as I leaped across the buildings, I headed straight to the address that had been scribbled on Miss Rieko's note. With the ryo in pocket, I held enough to buy the bed sheets listed and maybe a little something more for the children. Hopefully I'd get back soon enough to help with the move!
