Uchiha District (pan, get in here lol)

Asa strolled through the high walled cobblestone streets of the Uchiha district. Even through all the problems the rest of the village was having with reconstruction, the Uchiha had used their considerable clan wealth and influence to regain the prominent homes and walled section of the city. It made Asa sick. They should have spread the efforts in the Uchiha’s rebuilt district out over the whole village.

Spitting in a vein attempt to remove the sour taste he had in his mouth, Asa continued walking. He passed a cart with some decorations in it, and a few food stand that had been the most recent creations in this remodeled area. We were celebrating our good fortune while the men and women in the lower districts wallowed in squallier.

It was nearly an unbearable scene. Asa couldn’t help but pick up speed as he moved, eventually coming to the center of the district. In the center, the Uchiha clan of Kumo had always left a small lake, and a park standing for whatever reason. It seemed like the land there could be used for something more useful, though a better application escaped his mind. Sitting on a park bench Asa stretched out. The suns rays were warm, but a cool breeze washed over him, shifting his robes and sending a small chill down his back. He wished he had more control over the course this village was being set on. Unfortunately, he didn’t even have a solid grasp on his own direction. A sad state of affairs indeed.

Wandering

A blank expression strayed upon Araya's face as she took slow steps through the Uchiha district, though she had remained clueless as to where she had been. She had been in and out of her own thoughts and hadn't bothered to keep track of where she was walking. Stopping wherever she was, she took a moment to gaze around, this time a curious expression was upon her face. "Oh dear.. Seems I've done it again.." the Uchiha muttered to herself, crossing her arms as she did so. Araya seemed just a bit irritated with herself, but this wasn't an uncommon thing for the genin. "Fancy fancy Uchiha district, now I wonder when I ended up here." She spoke out loud to herself, yet another thing that wasn't so uncommon for her.

Taking a second look around, she spotted someone sitting on a nearby park bench, he seemed to be relaxing or something, Araya didn't know. Something was telling her to go there and find out who he was, just to know and of course it was that little side of her that she always gave into. "Hey" She called out from where she was standing, yeah it might have been a bit weird and she hoped he'd know she was speaking to him.

The day was passing slowly. The crowds in the streets of the districts mocked him with the sounds of their amusement. It was sickening to him that they didn’t even care about the suffering down in the village proper. Asa tried to scratch the thoughts away when suddenly a voice broke through the cacophony of the district to his ears. Turning his head he was greeted with a sight that combined intrigue and embarrassment, and caused him to quickly sit upright.

There standing in front of him calling out to him was a flame haired women, with barely a stitch on her. Her golden eyes focusing on him as she called out. Asa had never seen a golden eyed Uchiha before, nor had he seen one with red hair. Her ponytail caught the breeze and gracefully began flowing behind her. His cheeks colored at the sight of the half clothed lady.

“Are…are you talking to me ma’am? Are you lost?” Said Asa with a nervous stutter to his voice.

The stuttering of the male only made her interest in him rise, taking a few steps in his direction she raised an eyebrow. "Of course, Who else would I be talking to?" She asked with a sarcastic tone in her voice, pretending to look around for others. "And no, I'm not lost, I just wanna know who you are." Araya added, and rather bluntly. She was the type to just say whatever she wanted to, though it was often labeled as a bad habit of hers. Continuing to take steps in his direction, she finally stopped only a few feet away and allowed her gaze to run over the male. She could only find one thing she liked about him, "Your hair" a faint mumble would be heard clearly by the male, if he had been listening.

Catching herself getting lost in her thoughts again, she shook her head and blinked a couple of times trying to snap out of it. "Anyways. What's your name?" She questioned, of course she could have given her name first, it might have seemed a little less rude.

"Of course, Who else would I be talking to?"

The sarcasm dripped from her tone as she scanned the area to make sure her sarcasm was warranted.

"And no, I'm not lost, I just wanna know who you are."

She was direct. Asa hated people who prattled on about things, beating around the bush. This lady was a fast talker who hit her mark with every word. She was teetering on the line between propriety and rudeness. Asa liked that. Finally, the women stopped a few feet away from him, the smell of fresh soaps lingering from her body caught within his nostrils and blurred his ability to think with their sweet aroma. Finally, he heard a mumble from the women.

"Your hair"

Without thinking a hand slowly rose to his scalp and began running fingers through his hair. Just as quickly as she had brought his attention to his hair she pulled it away as if she didn’t even realize she had said anything.

"Anyways. What's your name?"

Asa was becoming confused. Was this woman crazy or something. She jumped from topic to topic, never worrying about what the Asa had to day or think. He had all he could do to keep up in this conversation.

“Well, uh…my name is Asa….Asashio. Asa for short.” He stumbled over his words at first, almost giving her his nickname before his real one, then finished with an uncomfortable laugh.

"Asashio." She repeated slowly as if she were trying to keep the name in her head. His name was somewhat of an add name, well in her mind anyways, similar to her own. She blinked a couple of times and a bright smile crossed her face, "My name is Araya" She introduced herself after what might have been an awkward moment of her thinking, yet again. She brought her arms over her head and stretched out before letting her arms fall at her side again, "So what brings you to this fancy fancy district?" She asked softly, "--In fact, how did I end up here in the first place.." the Uchiha spoke to herself, first she had a curious expression as she gazed around, then an amused one, "Oh well, I should be used to this by now." After her sentence, she gave slight laugh and shook her head.

The woman wrapped his name around her tongue, apparently having difficulty with it. It would seem it wasn’t to her liking, but it was the only one he had. She blinked a few times and then told Asa her name. Araya. Then, Araya lifted her arms above her head in a stretch. Asa’s eyes shot open in bewilderment. As it was, she was barely clothed, and in skin tight garment at that. As she stretched the clothing she wore seemed to fight simply to stay attached. “Hell, I would fight to stay attached to that.” Asa quickly shook the thought away, not positive if he had spoken out loud or not. The color in his cheeks deepened.

“Well Araya, I live here….as for you…” Asa thought about saying what he was thinking. He was beginning to think she was just some imagination of his addled brain. Merely an apparition there to taunt him. Or perhaps she was a dream, there to attract his attention and then strip away all semblance of its existence a moment later. But he decided to allow his imagination to run wild with this one, and continued with what he was going to say.

“As for you, you don’t seem to be an Uchiha. Or at least, I’ve never seen one like you before.” He smiled hoping the comment was taken as a compliment, rather then the unintentionally insulting way it seemed to come out. “Can I help you find your way?”

"You live here?" Araya questioned, somewhat in awe, "That should not be surprising to me.. Dont most Uchiha stay here anyways?" She asked herself before shrugging the thought away. She was obviously the weird one of most Uchiha, She didn't stay at the district, she didn't look like an Uchiha and her mind was always all over the place. It didn't come as a surprise when he said she didn't seem like an Uchiha, in fact that brought a smile to her face, "Why thank you, but I am an Uchiha, just..really different." She stated with a little nod afterwards. He had asked her if he could help her find her way and this confused her a little bit and it took a few moments to think about what he had meant. A sudden burst of laugher would come from Araya as she had figured out what he meant, "No, Its fine, I'm not lost. I just tend to get lost in my own thoughts and end up in the weirdest of places"

“Well I suppose most Uchiha stay here. Its rather annoying how…” Asa caught himself. He didn’t want to berate his clan in front of an outsider, only to his confusion, it appeared she wasn’t an outsider. “So you’re an Uchiha? Wow. I never would have guessed. You don’t live in the district huh? That must be nice.” Asa’s eyes were casting everywhere in a vein attempt not to linger on any one point of her body for long. He was attempting to be a gentleman, but it was so difficult with the way she dressed.

Her laughter tickled his ears. She was strange indeed. “So…you get lost in thought and end up in various locations? Well…I’ll say that at least every day is an adventure with that happening.” Asa’s trademark toothy grin stretched across his face, causing his nose to wrinkle a bit. She was turning an otherwise boring day into an interesting one.

Hearing him start up a sentence but stop himself caught her interest. Just as anything else would have caught her interest, she stared at him curiously, completely ignoring anything else he might have said. Once again her mind was being drowned in her thoughts, mostly questions this time. What did he mean? What was he going to say? Why didn't he finish his sentence in the first place? All of these questions and she was about to ask exactly what he wanted to say, whether he expected it or not, she wanted to know. Her gaze drifted from his eyes down to his lips as he smiled, "Its rather annoying how.. what?" She muttered.

Asa’s cheeks colored even deeper, as Araya asked the question. He didn’t know where to go from there. She had jumped on his cut off sentence like a tiger to prey. Her stare made him even more nervous then he already was, causing him to shift his tongue in his mouth to work up some saliva. It felt like his tongue had been buried in sand. He looked back into her golden eyes, still finding it hard to believe she was an Uchiha, and swallowed with a heavy gulp.

“Well…that is…I mean….I find some of the methods our clan uses to be unsavory. They rebuild our clan district to the letter, without a thought for the common man down in the village proper. I’m just a nobody around here, or else I might try to change it. It’s….frustrating.”

Asa hadn’t meant to get so involved in that train of thought with Araya. He wasn’t sure she cared much about how the clan operated, seeing as she lived outside their jurisdiction. It didn’t help that he was afraid of reprisal from those who ran the clan. They weren’t his most outspoken allies as it was. In fact, Asa’s need to joke about things that made him uncomfortable was what often landed him in their dog house.

Araya listened to what he had to say without saying another word, she thought about it for a while then shook her head at her own thoughts. Almost as if she had a complete and total personality change, her expression was a bit more calm and she spoke in a soft manner, "I think, that's just how people with power work. They tend to worry about themselves rather than those who aren't as fortunate as they are." With another sigh, came yet another mood change. "Anyways! We cant dwell on things like that too long or you'll drive yourself insane" the Uchiha teased, as he already seemed bothered by the whole situation. "I wouldn't fit in here, so what's the point in staying around? I'd rather just go out and do whatever I want."

Suddenly Araya’s personality shifted dramatically. It was as if Asa was talking to a completely different person now. Calm, and insightful, rather then insane and unpredictable. “I suppose you’re right at that. It isn’t something that we can dwell on. And maybe I am insane. Hahaha. Thanks for the laugh Araya. I think your way of life, this living outside the rules…well it may just be something I try very soon.”

Asa had been given a rope while drowning. Instead of wallowing in doubt of the clan leaders proposal, he’d simply decide for himself, and if they disagreed he’d find a way to outrank them. Make his own amendments. First things first though. He would need to get out of this troubling district. Reaching down to the grass below the bench, Asa pulled a violet flower from the ground and held it out to Araya, “Thank you for the insight beautiful. You’ve set me on quite the path.”

With that, Asa would stand and begin heading out of the Uchiha district. Finding a path that met with his principals, and his pride in being a “common man”

The genin smiled as Asa held out the flower to her, without hesitation she took the flower and nodded. "Good luck, you, just hope you dont turn out like me." She teased yet again, however there was a bit of seriousness to it. Giving Asa a simple wave, she watched as he headed away. Instead of lingering around the area as she normally would, she simply ran, eventually she'd find her way out of the 'fancy fancy' district.
