One mission done, another was to do.
And this one she didn’t mind all that much, surprisingly. Other girls might find it disgusting and would request that they do something else instead of cleaning up trash but frankly, Areru didn’t care whatsoever. She had changed a little for this one, having quickly gone back home to change in to old clothes to prevent her best from being stained with trash-juice, and she was wearing gloves with one of them pick-up devices but apart from that, there was nothing different about what she was doing. She was pretty laid back about the whole picking up trash thing, actually, and didn’t mind getting her hands dirty- She could just clean them afterwards, right? She was almost near the area that needed to be cleaned and frankly, she could tell, as she could see bits of paper and rubbish scattered across the floor.
It was pretty sad to see everything all over the place in such a mess but she was sure that after a bit of cleaning it would look as good as ever- Or, at least as good as it had been after the war had damaged the village. It had never been the same since that had happened, although she looked forwards to the day when Kumogakure was as beautiful as it had been in her childhood- Not to say that it wasn’t nice now, but it could do with better. A few buildings were still a bit wrecked, but apart from that they had done quite a nice job with rebuilding the place- One of her missions was to help with that, so she would probably end up patching up a building or something like that later on. But- Now was the time to concentrate on this one in particular.
Walking down the street with her bag in hand and the grabby stick in the other, she would soon start to pick up pieces of trash and placing them in the bag itself, there being a belt upon her waist where there were extra supplies if she needed any more, like gloves. But, she found that the grabby stick was pretty useful in what it did, and it prevented her from having to bend down all the time- What a marvellous invention! Despite the fact that it had been made easier for her, and she did appreciate that, she felt a bit bored picking up all of the rubbish along the place- She didn’t care if people saw her doing it, that was the least of her worries. Backache was one of the things that she wanted to avoid at all costs! But it looked like she wouldn’t be getting any today.
So, piece after piece she would slowly begin to clean the streets of the junk that had been left after recent attacks that had strangely left trash all over the place. No doubt someone had obviously targeted the waste bins and everything which were around the place, which wasn’t very nice. It just made more work for people, although that probably was the reason that they had targeted them. But it was nice to have missions that made people help clean up both because she could get paid from it, and it helped to make the village a little bit prettier after what had happened. So, really, both parties profited from the whole thing so no-one one really lost except for the people who had dealt the damage in the first place who would see their work cleaned up. Poor them. NOT.
