The sudden burst of static in my ear that had once been steady breathing meant that something was wrong with my communication device that linked myself to my kage. Sadly, I had little awareness to the fact that it actually meant he had disappeared, leaving my brother and I as the sole representatives of Sunagakure to fight this battle. No, I assumed he was still there, hiding in the trees, and watching as an onslaught consumed the field before us. Truth be told, I had no idea what exactly it was the beast was up to, but I knew that I had little choice in the matter of how I would continue with my assault. There was only one way yo close the distance, and as I felt my body separate with my brother's , I began swiftly sinking into the earth, a few simple handseals allowing me the luxury of hiding myself from the assault going on above. I would burrow fifteen meters beneath the ground, before travelling forward with immense speed. I sought to cover some fifty meters of space, perhaps travelling about thirty when I first heard word from my brother about what was in store for me above the ground, as well as sharing some more unpleasant news. ____________________ "Kami... What have we gotten ourselves into?!" It was horrifying. The beast had launched a wave of death across the field. It moved rapidly - at least for what it was - and swallowed up allies whole in its flaming torrent. I wondered just how badly it would scar the earth beneath it, and I worried for Masao, letting him know of the impending hell which raged above his head. Regardless of that, however, I had to find safety for myself. I wasn't so foolish as to wade around up to my ankles in a river of fire. A quick retreat to the East would put me in the same copse of trees as I had last seen Shoumetsu. Hopefully, he would have a strategy to face against this beast. I called his name softly, seeking to hear from him, as I climbed the boughs, but I could see no trace of him. I searched frantically for him, but there was no sign he had even been there, aside from the broken branches left by his presence. I followed the trail as far as it went, but it came to an abrupt end. It seemed as though he had already either taken the field, somehow unseen to myself, or he had abandoned us. "Masao, I don't think you're gonna like this, but I can't see Shoumetsu-sama anywhere... I think he's gone. Also, whatever you do, don't breach the surface of the ground right now. The Yonbi just let loose a huge wave of lava. Pretty much everything on the ground around it is getting scorhed and burned. If you start to feel heat, I'd advise you head further underground and start making your way back. This fight might be too much for us." We weren't of much help in our current state. We both knew that much. I only hoped that Masao wasn't foolish enough to stick around if things got too hairy. He'd made stupid mistakes before... [/style]

Description: Every Soushi member starts their adventures with Souma no Kou. The very technique is why the Soshi are feared within’ the ninja world. The ability to turn a one on one into a handicapped fight is where the Soushi become glorious and known. One of the two Soushi twins can easily walk out of their twin counterpart as though they were a liquid wall. However they must train further within Souma no Kou if they truly desire to master their bloodlimit. Without this technique, Soushi twins are essentially just simple Siamese twins.

'Earth Dominion' is just as its name implies, a fundamental supplementary jutsu of Doton nature that allows the user to intermingle their chakra with that of nature, harmonizing the two in order to create complete control over the earth around them. Once this link is achieved, the door is opened for greater creations to be made.

CHAPTER to capture a beast!
POST three
OOC event; mission; it's been passed the allotted time for everyone to post, so I'm assuming all IIC rules are in effect. Auto-hit on Yonbi.

It was effective. The spurts of trees would expand in all sorts of manners surrounding the beast and its incredibly proportioned muscles. The exposed fangs, and the gnashing teeth would not stop, and as he would struggle to pull away, it was evident that his efforts were for nothing more than cinematic spectacle. The trees had grown rapidly around not only his incredibly sized arms, and hands, but additionally, his stout, powerful legs. His shoulders would bulge, and his roars would echo, but it was clear that he was nothing more than a puppet to Ibara's furthering plot. It was a battle of almost prophetic proportions; the lone shinobi standing calm, and brave in the eyes of an inherent evil. This was courage. This was bravery. This was a real climax. The battle had only just begun however. While the incredible chakras of the beast flared, and would press roughly against the skin of all those who were lucky enough to still be alive, he would be one of the lone warriors still standing to fight. His knees had buckled, and his body had crumpled to a knee as his hands would finally finish their seals. His hair would flutter behind him, the dark tendrils clinging to his face to reveal a single, solid brown eye staring up at the beast that had yet to really notice him. His clones however were a different story. Appearing to be a small battalion of warriors, it was in fact the efforts of one man that had done this. As the glint of the sun would reflect against the faux headbands of these dopplegangers, their presence would be made even more clear, despite the mass of wooden bonds that would entangle the gorilla. While he did not need trivial rituals such as hand seals, and while his tails were still weapons to be wary of, it was Ibara's control of the beast's movements that allowed him true power.

Slowly rising to his feet, Ibara's hands would fall to his sides, and he would take a steady march to the top of the branch as to see the face of his enemy more clearly. A quaint grin would cover his face as the rest of his clones, save one whom had already punctured the beast's chest somewhat, would finish the rest of their hand seals as well. Simultaneously, a barrage of razor sharp branches would emerge from their body. Almost as if liquid, the branches would twist, turn and curl into various shapes and formations to confuse their direction before finally finding the real cause for their creation. They had been created to penetrate both the air, and the vibrant red coat of the four tailed beast. The spear-like tips of the one hundred and twelve branches curled through the air, finding their way into the beast's back in an attempt to thrust him to the ground, and bind him further. Bursting from the seams with life, the foliage around the battle would quickly grow jealous of this exquisite genesis. Deep red bark, which would hold a honey toned wood quickly saught the blood of the monster, and it was only a matter of time before it got it. Perhaps they were not powerful enough to run him through, protected by a powerful coat of both chakra and muscle, but it would be more than enough to continue to bind the beast. With ample time to keep him pinned, it would only add insult to injury that these branches would keep him down as well. As all six of the Ibara's would remove their hands from the legion of branches created at their whim, it would be the one closest to the Yonbi's front that would actually begin to converse with him on behalf of his creator.

"Gaahahahaha!! Osoraku anata ga shizumaru hitsuyō ga aru!" [Perhaps you need to simmer down!] He would shout in a ruthless cackle towards the beast, making his way through the few, remaining trees, and across the flurry of newly created branches to finally make his way close enough for the beast to hear him clearly.

His feet would land roughly against the deep crimson wood, his body hidden perfectly from the sun due to a small leaf-ridden branch which had been created by his own jutsu. He was showing his pride. The all black attire of the young man would hang loosely from his feeble form, though as he stood against these branches, his arms folded with his grin bare, and obvious, it was clear that he was unafraid of this monster, despite being warned to be. Within any instant, he could be gone, a simple slip up allowing the monster to take quick control of the situation. However, perhaps it was this atmosphere, or perhaps it was his love for battle, but this was making him bleed glee. His smile had grown from a quaint grin to a vicious array of teeth, and continued only to rise. He was starting to become frightening, however he was not alone. Not this time. This time, he had the power of his village behind him; however much they might have gotten in the way.

This was a outrageous battle; the power of the beast was much greater than what Ka'ten could ever think of. The burst of aura that spilled from the beast almighty great. Minch knew that he would had to get somewhere on the back of the beast to truly get a hand in this battle. With that being said Minch dashed from tree to tree, trying to remain and avoid the lava that was surrounding the area. He watched as the ninja from Kumogakure began to fight the beast even one taking the power to wrapping wood around the beast holding it."Thats it KUMO!" Minch said as he got close enough to the beast to use one of his jutsu. He quickly gather the right amount of chakra to push himself forward toward the beast. With quick speed he landed not far from the beasts head. Grabbing a hold to fur of the beast, the amount of aura almost pushed Mich off,but the sheer will helped him climb his way up it. As he made his way to the back of the fur ridden head of the beat Minch formed a set of handseals before swinging his arms around violently. He began to Wind Manipulate the wind around him. There a a set of wind began to follow his set of hand movements. He lifted his hands into the air promoting the wind to follow. I stopped myself approximately forty meters away from the beast, hoping to keep a fair distance so as not to endanger myself more than necessary. My clones, however, continued onward, their hands clashing into seals of the zodiac, drawing upon my own chakra for their techniques. As they approached a ten meter radius of the Yonbi, I would take a quick glance to my allies to see how they were doing. From the earth erupted great branches, entangling themselves around the hands and feet of the Yonbi. The same man who had bound him would now be thrusting spikes of wood into the masses of fur in further attempts to bind him. Meanwhile another sought to bring him truly to his knees as he clambered up to the head, his hands flailing wildly about in some sort of jutsu.

My insects at this point had successfully reached the Yonbi's eyes. I had sent the necessary amount of insects to begin draining, and so as they covered and landed upon his massive eyes they would even begin to drain from him his chakra. If my insects could even survive such a volatile feast, they would continue to do so as long as possible. Surely a chakra as powerful as that of the Yonbi would be useful in the fight against him. My clones, having now finished their seals, would thrust their hands forward, expelling from their palms beams of wood, much like the seemingly endless array that burst forth from my ally's clones.

The wood twisted and turned through the air, slowly splitting apart into eight separate beams. Although my Mokuton skills weren't the strongest they would have to suffice. All eight beams were tangled about the beasts neck, constricting as tightly as I could possibly muster in hopes that it would both strangle and restrict the beast. My allies had already done their fair share and I hoped that I could do the same. As the wood would hopefully be pressing itself against the throat of the massive beast I would await the next move. Surely this couldn't be as easy as it was...

Special: Range of wooden spikes depends on the user’s level of 'Wood Dominion'. Approaching wood will split into up to two spikes per use, plus one more each time retrained. Spikes move roughly at the speed of a kunai.
Description: After a few simple seals, the Mokuton user will changes one's own arm into big trees and use it to extend a large mass of spikes towards their target. Using chakra, the tissues are transformed into trees at the cellular level. Then, by activating the trees, stimulating them to grow rapidly, they lengthen at high speed and fork into many branches. These spikes can act both to impale his target and as a barrier to protect a comrade. Such is the strength of the stakes that it is said to be able to break through defenses of the same Rank or lower than the technique. When the technique is over, the trees fall off of the user's arm and the user will regain the use of his or her arms.

These foolish boys and girls thought to subdue a beast of legend with tree branches and roots? Clearly, shinobi had become complacent with their abilities; only the most potent techniques in their village's arsenal would suffice, and being that many of them lacked the know-how to properly wield such devastating forces, this little skirmish was all but finished. Taking the Yonbi's pause as a sign of weakness was a grave mistake, one that the supposedly simple-minded beast intended to take full advantage of.

Not only were the roots that attempted to bind his appendages insufficiently durable enough to withstand the might of the monstrous beast, there wasn't nearly enough of them. Presuming the strength of his conjured trees would be able to contest his strength was preposterous, and the price to pay was high. With a simple, effortlessly tug the earth was torn asunder as the roots were ripped from their positions. Whatever trees might've come to aid the boy were, like the roots, demolished beneath the pressure of his swatting tails.

The tendrils of wood that shot from the clone's sleeve were, without a doubt, the most to suffer. Opposed to the massive wave of lava he'd released merely a moment before, this next stream took no preparation. A fountain of the corrosive substance shot from his maw like a glob of spit, instantly devouring the incoming tendril(s). The sudden expansion of the fiery liquid under gravity's control ensured the clone's demise, and before the threads exiting his sleeve would've been half way through their journey, he would've died.

As for the others? They'd likely fallen victim to the vortex of debris and destruction that his constantly lashing tails had formed, sweeping across the earth in wide arcs spanning over thirty meters. As for the others?

The most recent action and arrogance of these impudent ninja had left the tailed-beast infuriated, and with a power the likes none of these individuals had seen, he threw himself back an incredible distance (200+ meters). Before his feet and hands dug into the earth, steadying his retreat, his mouth had opened wide. There, in the center, a small ball of chakra was visible. With each passing second the vacuum of the beast's power continued to grow, until it eclipsed his face in a ominous light that spelled their doom. Even the Raikage, airborne as he was, would not be able to so easily evade this next assault.

How would they contend with this?

GET FURTHER UNDERGROUND, NOW." This was crazy. No, it was beyond crazy, actually, and simply calling it that wouldn't do it justice. I had watched the beast wreak utter hell upon our opponents' efforts to subdue it, lashing out its tails as a means of defense. Every attack was proven useless; every effort swatted away like a troublesome insect. How could I- How could WE, have ever hoped to contend with such a beast? There was nothing in my power, or Masao's that could be done about such a thing. We were but ants to the Yonbi's foot, ready to be squashed at its leisure. And then, movement. Not just any movement, but a tremendous leap. The beast flew back some two-hundred meters, well out of our combined range, before it began to gather what appeared to be chakra into it's maw, a great mass of pure darkness forming. I had no idea what it was, and I would've been surprised if anyone did, but the mere fact that it had leapt so far away, and yet still had an attack which it felt viable from such a distance had scared me from my perch. Indeed, it had scared me enough to freefall from the trees to the earth, my hands swiftly forming seals that would hopefully lead to my salvation. It took perhaps three seconds to reach the ground, but when I hit, I did not stop, my body submerging into the earth with great speed, as I burrowed as deep as I could, about thirty meters below the copse of trees I'd hidden in. I could only hope that the grass in the soil, and the trees above me would prove ample enough resistance to help defer the blast from digging deep enough to hit me, if the attack in question was indeed that powerful to reach some 280 meters away. Given what I'd seen though, I had no reason to doubt that it was, and I prayed to my maker that I would be safe. I wasn't ready to die... ____________________ Isao was scared. Not upset, or being his typical bleeding heart self, but he was frightened for his life. That was what convinced me to listen to him. Isao was... naive, but he rarely showed fear. That he was so bothered by what had been going on meant that we were both in a state of peril, and that we needed to get away from here. I started to shake a bit, as I considered what the beast might have done; what it could have been capable of... I wasn't a coward, but this was something beyond human reckoning, and without actually being able to see what was going on, my imagination pumped with the fuel of nightmares, sending horrendous thoughts through my brain. Of course I followed my brother's advice, digging deeper into the earth, and abandoning my forward travel, so that I was some 45 meters underneath the upper layer of silt and grass. I had no idea what was coming, but at what was unbeknownst to me as 250 meters of distance, I had to hope that I would be safe... A hope that left me feeling like a useless child. [/style]

The Yonbi truly was an entity of pure monstrosity. Ever would the ninja in this place have witnessed such a beast and it was hard to imagine, at the time, that they would ever witness it again. How nature was a cruel mistress one to never take the fool's roads. Eiichiro peered from atop his viewpoint down towards the battle that was raging. The terrain and become completely unrecognizable as whole forests lay ripped a part in the wake of large amounts of earth and debris scattered. Craters had formed collectively across the battlefield as the shear force and presence of the Yonbi had caused the landscape to give way. How could this beast ever be overcome? It is so damn big! everything has a weakness and size and pure chakra supply isn't everything. We just need to find it.. These thoughts ran through his mind as he search for his teammates amongst the chaos.

As his eye's flickered from left to right he could see the mokuton roots and branches used to succumb the beast hurled from their foothold as if they were mere weeds in a garden. It seemed as though the power of the earth would not be able to restrain the volcanic monkey as it thrashed and ragged, sweeping its tails from left-to-right creating what looked to be large gusts of wind. The simple movement of its tails was causing the shinobi enough trouble as it was and Eiichiro and has ominous feeling that there was much more to come. As his hands moved through formation which could only be achieved through years of training he would form the necessary handseals he needed for the next progression of his plan. Opening his mouth wide a large oozing glob of lava would pour our slowly settling itself on a branch below before shaping itself into a replica of Eiichiro. He would send is Lava Clone closer to the action in support of his fellow shinobi. As it stood, he would not be getting any closer to the beast.

Timely as it was the Yonbi launched its hind legs and threw itself backwards more than two-hundred meters. The shear pressure of the highspeed movement seemed to even maker time and space quiver as it halted its law to let the beast do it bidding. Safely, or so how it seemed, at 270+ meters Eiichiro deployed his clone immediately. Sailing down the branches moving at highspeed it would make its way closer to the beast. The two, both the clone and Eiichiro, were positioned to the beasts left far into the distance, but the lava clone would make up ground soon enough. Within the instant Eiichiro's mouth opened in horror as his eyebrow lifted anxiously onto it forehead. What was this feeling?, Eiichiro though to himself. Well, the feeling was the presence of pure chakra, the Yonbi was about to unleash an attack which would devastate the surroundings and leave nothing in its wake.

Had the beast finally had enough? this was the power that a tailed beast possessed. Eiichiro could sense the chakra that was gathering a way that he never had before. It was foreign, dark in nature, and ultimately bad news. Stretching his arms outward then towards his chest he begun to form seals once again gathering the chakra in his body, molding it for the purpose of a beckoning defense. Although not in the direct line of fire of the Yonbi, the feeling he gained of what was to come didn't seem to warrant licence at boarders. Whatever it would be he imagined the range, both length and width, would be tremendous. Moving through his sets he only hoped that he could could finish in time before the worst would come.

I would witness as branches sprouting from the ground struggled in bringing the Yonbi to a standstill, watched as they were ripped plainly out of the ground- waterfalls of soil and roots cascading beneath them. It was then that I sprang into motion once more. A thought, and the ten explosive tags I had previously thrown into the air were snatched from the sky by ten of the forty ravens at my disposal. With the explosive pieces of parchment in their clutches, they would flutter around me closely as I began- yet again- to issue a short string of hand seals: One, two, three. Done. Even as I watched the Yonbi spit out a glob of lava and destroy the opposition at its front, I focused on summoning yet another murder of fifty crows with the Sanzengarasu no Jutsu (Scattering One Thousand Crows Technique)- bringing the total of ravens at my disposal to ninety, ten of them carrying explosive tags!

No time to waste. Even as the Bijuu's flailing tails stomped at the battered ground around it effortlessly- truly an amazing thing to see- I jumped into yet another string of hand seals. I was going to head straight into the fray of things with this next technique, to close the distance and hopefully land a few crucial hits on the powerful creature. Bam. Handseals done, I broke into a wolfish grin as fifty of the ninety crows surrounding me crashed into one another- fluidly forming, in the myriad of black feathers that assembled, a singular giant crow. My own wings gave me leverage, an edge, but the giant crow I had summoned through the Yamiyo Karasu no Jutsu (Giant Crow Technique) provided a considerably more versatile and speedy manner of transportation. The giant crow's wings were faster than mine, and its speed would contribute to the assault I had planned for the Yonbi.

But then- a predicament. Just when I'd landed on the giant crow I had formed into creation, tucking in my onyx black wings as far as they'd go, the Yonbi leaped backwards. Now two-hundred and sixty-five+ meters

[/u] away, having landed with thunderous sound, I released a brief 'tch' at the fact that it had unknowingly thrown a wrench into my plan for attack. "Oh well." I sighed through a smile, issuing the bird seal to instruct my giant crow into movement. Part of the thrill in battle was having to improvise at the split-second, whilst remaining true to any battle plans you might have organized in your mind before entering the arena. The giant crow flapped its black wings into rapid motion, my murder of forty ravens trailing closely behind like ducklings to a swan mother. And it continued advancing towards the Yonbi while simultaneously rising higher and higher into the air, until I would pay witness to the horror of a chakra so dense it vibrated.

With the speed in which the giant, but versatile, crow was taking me, I had only managed to get within a distance of one-hundred and eighty-five+ meters before coming to an abrupt halt. The Yonbi was obviously preparing something of large magnitude, I could feel it in the air. The small but powerful, alluring and frightening chakra that was gathering in between his gaping maw- an energy that seemed to glow black. And it had it pointed in my general direction, in the direction of all those shinobi I had spotted on the ground beneath me. Clearly, it planned on launching off that intense gathering of chakra in some manner, so I issued the bird seal and urged my giant crow to fly- rapidly so- around the Yonbi so that we kept our one-hundred and eighty-five+ distance, but maneuvered away from the direction of its impending attack.

While we kept our distance and flew around the Yonbi, I mentally sent off the ten crows at my disposal with the explosive tags in their clutches, keeping the remaining thirty following closely behind. Should they reach the Yonbi in their flight, within range of the explosion of their attained parchments, they would target the Bijuu's eyes. And when they reached that point, I would activate the tags!

Special: Crows can exist as far as the eye can see, or until the user leaves the thread, and take no additional chakra for upkeep. Up to 10 are summonsed the first time, with 10 more each time this jutsu is re-learned. Crows move almost as fast as kunai, and maintain a mental chakra connection to the user for the sake of communication.
Description: The base behind the Akegarasu is their control and use of crows in battle, displayed well with this technique. After forming a few simple seals, the crow king will call upon a murder of crows to fly around and envelop the target, causing confusion with their dark forms and quick movement. From here, either a comrade or the user can move within the flock wearing dark clothes and wielding a dark weapon almost undetected. With the target distracted by the crows, the ninja can strike more efficiently. Finally, the mass of crows can obscure any retreating ninja, as the crows are massive in numbers and composed of the user's chakra. When no longer needed, the murder of crows will simply puff away in smoke.

Yamiyo Karasu no Jutsu (Giant Crow Technique)

Special: Giant crow requires 50 crows for creation, stands tall at 10 meters, and measures 10 more meters from its tail to its beak, with a 20 meter wingspan. In order to give the giant crow instructions, the 'Bird' seal must be held. Once riding the crow itself moves at speeds roughly a bit faster than a well thrown kunai. Can sustain attacks 'A' rank and below. While it cannot use ninjutsu or genjutsu, the giant crow excels at taijutsu.
Description: A more advanced Akegarasu secret technique, the clan member expresses their dominion over the sacred crow by calling their murder together, and forcing them all to converge at once. The result is the evolution of a species, with one giant crow as a living testament of the technique's success. Despite its size, the crow has not lost its speed, and instead is a bit more durable, granting its master an aerial edge unlike any other.

Description: A cunning technique utilized by those that have connected with their crows at a deeper level, the Akegarasu will toss up to a total of ten small projectiles into the air. These projectiles can range from kunai to explosive tags. Once these items are airborne, the crows will snatch them from the air with either their beaks or talons. It is then that they are controlled via the mental connection they have with their master, to unleash potentially deadly aerial assaults with the projectiles provided. This can range from dropping kunai on unsuspecting enemies, to scattering explosive tags upon a desired location for further detonation. Crafty crows indeed!

Godly eyes allowing the Uchiha to perceive at a stratum well above even the keenest of Shinobi, all actions—subtle or otherwise, would be taken into wary contemplation. This battle called for such measures. Not fighting another shinobi, or even a band of skilled warriors, the opponent of this meeting was one that vastly outclassed many and was only overpowered by few. Sadly, it was a logical estimation to assume that the Yonbi wasn’t even the strongest of its brethren. A notion disheartening to the weak of heart, Ryûsuke knew he couldn’t obtain such frail emotions, not at this moment when so much rode on his success.

Oceans of red and yellow flooding the area around him, the Niidaime was fortunate—or wise enough to exclude himself from the precocious meeting with death. Nonetheless, it seemed one of his own, one dear to late uncle couldn’t realize the same fate, and with a direct collision, his body, and all that he acquired before battle drowned in a sea of molten, volcanic emission. Bones soaking up the deadly essence of pumice and soon evaporating into nothingness; a future hero falling on the battlefield. A soft, low sigh escaped the Fire Shadow’s lips as he turned his attention back towards the situation at hand, his hands beginning a quick riddle of seals, though the process interrupted by a commanding gesture from the beast himself.

Releasing itself from the binds of wood and spiritual energies, the Yonbi soon enough flailed its massive tails right before leaping back. Paws and feet soaring through the heavens as the fiery-haired ape pushed itself an estimated 200 meters to its rear, greatly increasing the gap between itself and the small bastion of defenders. At first glance, this seemed advantageous to the remaining parties, though upon further inspection, and clarity through his sharingan, Ryûsuke’s eyes widened greatly. Maw lifting apart, and soon enough an immense solidity of chakra in the coloration of deep black formulating, the Hokage could feel the strength and destruction resonating from the beast’s orb.

Its size wouldn’t be underestimated, and with past experience handling Bijû under his belt, the Uchiha couldn’t sit by and wait. As soon as the dark construct emerged, would be turn around, spinning on his heel quickly, and soon enough dart in the opposite direction. Using the trail of free space he once traveled on as a guide into the opposition direction. Already distance a solid 250 meters from the creature, the cherry-blonde would attempt to further extend that gap, his senses attuned to his surroundings while his sharingan guarded all visible openings. A plan ensuing in his mind as the man waited for the grand display of power.

From the earth erupted great roots spawned by my ally, twisting wildly about the Yonbi's appendages in an attempt to bind him to the place in which he stood. My kikaichuu would be moving towards the creature's eyes in an attempt to blind him meanwhile my clones rushed forward into the heat of battle. I, on the other hand, still stood at approximately forty meters from the beast, and I would make haste to rise up to do my part. My current position, however, was vulnerable, and so I leaped into the air as insects flooded from my clothing.

Beneath me there would now be a mass of insects holding my weight, flying into the air at maximum speeds in order to rise up to meet the threat of the Yonbi. I moved diagonally to my right, facing the Yonbi, so that I would be moving diagonally to the bijuu's left. However, just as I would prepare my next assault, the roots that bound the towering beast splintered and were destroyed, easily pulled apart by the might of the ape before us.

The tails swung out and lashed the earth viciously, ripping it to shreds as it carried over the land. Due to my insect cloud I had successfully avoided the tails, although there were shattered bits of debris that flew through the air. These seemed, however, to be more directed at the others on the ground, launching from the earth towards them in a flurry of rocks and destroyed earth. Already the beast showed incredible power, but it was nothing as compared to what was coming.

With a massive push against the earth he recoiled some two hundred meters, placing him approximately two hundred forty meters away from myself. His appendages struck the earth as he quickly regained balance, and even from this distance I could see his massive maw opening wide. A substance gathered before him, growing bigger and bigger before it eventually began to eclipse his entire face. Something of that scale was certainly frightening, and thus I continued as I had upon my insects, climbing ever higher into the sky as I moved in an effort to further myself from what was to come.

The amalgamation of power and chakra occurred in a matter of seconds, severely limiting the window that they all presumed that they had; he was a construction of the raw energy, and thusly allocating it to a focal point - his mouth - took no more than a fraction of the time it would've taken any mortal creature. The sun was humbled by the brighter, much closer, radiance of the sphere that had very tightly collected itself just beyond the cusp of the beast's lips.

And then it happened.

The sphere erupted into a cone-like beam, moving with a speed incapable of being described by numbers. Its girth was impossibly wide, and its reach easily devoured the two hundred and fifty plus meters (which isn't that far) in the blink of a mortal eye. It incinerated all that might've been unfortunate enough to get caught in the initial blast, though the worse had yet to come: an explosion followed as the beam crashed into the earth, piercing the clouds in a tornado of heat and violent winds.

Those that thought they were safe would've been caught in the maelstrom that spanned nearly half a mile, throwing them to the floor without mercy or care. Chances were, they'd be bruised or injured severely, though fortunate enough to keep their lives.

As for the rest? Well, they'd be remembered in scriptures and stones honoring the honorable dead.

With it came a deep rumbling in the earth, a feeling that shifted the earth and rocks around me as I struggled to keep my calm. The rumbling grew louder, and closer, as the whine increased, all too soon making my ears ring in pain as I felt what seemed to be a ful scale explosion occur; waves of pressure buffeting through the earth and into my body even this far under the ground. They wracked through me, leaving my entirety feeling wholly violated by a residue of foreign chakra, as well as a terrible pain. And then it was gone. And so I nearly found myself gone, too. The earth had shifted so forcefully that I had barely had time to react. My leg had been pinned between two large rocks that had found their way there due to the violent movement of the earth above, and the force from the explosion had sent them into my leg, splintering the bone and tearing at the flesh of my shin. I bit my lip at the sudden explosion of pain, nearly losing myself as my consciousness ebbed, but I held on, reaching down with my hands and prying free the obstructions, so that I could move my leg. I had to get above-ground soon, before the wound became too dirtied and risked becoming infected. I had no idea what waited above, but I could not stay underground much longer. Thankfully, as I began my ascension, I weaved a few more handseals, and as I powered myself upwards perhaps twenty meters, a different flow of chakra started to take over; one which would allow me to finish my ascent. The only solace that came following whatever had happened was knowing Isao had survived. If he hadn't, I surely wouldn't have. ____________________ The explosion had been frightnening, but thankfully my patch of earth had been free of large rocks. The blast had caused some damage; no doubt my organs were likely bruised, but that was nothing that couldn't be fixed with time and rest; two things that I sadly didn't have any time for at the moment. I could tell I hadn't survived by much; a mere ten meters of soil remained above my head, and everything above that was gone. Gone to whatever foul thing it was that the beast had conjured. My first priority was finding Masao, and getting the hell out of here. I knew where he'd been, and even as I felt his pain; one that mirrored mine in many ways, I could tell from his thoughts that he was headed above-ground, to freedom... Or to doom... I headed his way, pushing myself through the dirt as I felt my chakra tearing through it, moving it around my body and displacing it behind me back the way I had come. I drove myself forward in his direction as far as I could, feeling him still some distance under the earth, but not much. He would meet me swiftly, though, and when he did, we could join, and I would take over. He had been under for long enough as it was. If he didn't get out soon, he'd suffocate. I still had time, though. And as he came closer, I realized I was our only real means of escape. He'd broken his leg, and badly so. That meant I would have to carry him. I sighed and tried to fight off the fear of what remained above us; still unsure as to who or what was left in the barren wastes above. Either way, I was leaving as soon as I possibly could. There was no chance that either of us could stand to face a foe so powerful. I only hoped the others who had come had escaped with their lives intact... [/style]

The sphere grew larger and larger, casting a bright light that forced me to look away, hoping only that I would escape the fearsome attack. Within a matter of seconds it screeched across the landscape, blasting it apart effortlessly. I managed to peer down as the chakra ripped through the terrain like paper, absolutely crushing and destroying it beneath the might of the attack. My eyes opened wide as it caused people on the earth to actually disintegrate before my eyes, and a wave of fear overcame me. This wasn't just power, this was a God. What could be worse than having the fury of a God upon you?

As the blast passed beneath my cloud of insects I thought I had escaped. Yet the blast brought with it an aftermath that was just as fearful as the original blast. The chakra struck the earth, causing an intense explosion to ripple throughout the air. At this point I had moved some 50 meters off of the earth, but I was still subject to the heat as it radiated from the earth. As sweat began to pour off of my body as heat rapidly increased, a torrent of wind burst up from the explosion, thrusting me further into the air and dispersing my cloud of insects.

The force of the explosion, as it came and struck me, was easily enough to cause extreme pain. The insects used for the cloud were surely dead, killed by heat or the wind crushing their tiny bodies. I was still flying upwards for a few moments before I began free-falling, plummeting towards the now destroyed earth. My arms were thrust out before me, creating once more the cloud of insects to support my weight. Yet even as I set foot upon it I could feel a jolt of pain coursing through my body. I turned, drenched in sweat, to look at the Yonbi.

I was at a loss of what to do. There was nothing I could do. This beast was far too powerful for the likes of myself, and even if there were those who could best it, they were most likely killed in the blast. There was another airborne man whom I did not know, but other than that I saw no one on the earth. I gulped, pondering what I could do in the situation. Fight or flight, those were the only choices, and flight was looking like a good fucking choice right now.

The blast was faster than I had initially expected, and it struck the Earth below with a tremendous growl. The sheer power of it all reverberated in the air above, followed by the whipping of violent winds and heat. The giant crow I rode upon struggled to keep its balance, weaving left and right as hot winds plummeted its wings, the forty remaining crows I had at my disposal 'poofing' away as they performed their last task- shielding me from the worst of it. And once my murder of crows was gone, I was forced to resort to driving my crow slightly sideways, a single hand grasped firmly into the ruff of feathers around its neck, as its belly faced the continuing- and abnormal- fallout in the air.

The fact that my creation could sustain attacks considered A-Rank or below meant that I survived the ordeal with little more than teary eyes and a loss of morale. The heat had turned the surface of my exposed skin red, like a sunburn, and the mere act of moving stung me to the core. But at least I had persevered, and while I was sure that damn Yonbi had managed to kill a majority of my soldiers down there on the battlefield, I wasn't going to spend my time here grieving just yet. If I couldn't land a counter-offensive, what good would I do here? The thing was growing restless- angry. What a temper.

Its underestimation of us had played a big part in catching it off guard some, and now its recklessness would fill in that slot. The Yonbi, the four-tails. How much power did it really have? As much as the fabled nine-tails? Or perhaps even the Hachibi? I doubted it. If it wasn't already struggling to recover from its previous hyper beam, I was almost certain the last attack had depleted its chakra reserves some. We needed to take advantage of it. I was sure as hell about to.

The fact that the overgrown ape had interrupted my previous attempt at attacking it meant that I had only managed to fly within two-hundred and ten meters of it. The crow I rode on, whilst my own obsidian black wings remained tucked behind my back, remained at that distance. Quickly, I withdrew my Hyourougan (Soldier Provision Pill), placing it between the inside of my left cheek and the bottom row of teeth. When I needed it, I would simply bite into it- as a spy would bite into a suicide pill when faced with capture. But I wouldn't need it yet.

I kept strict vigil over the Yonbi, watching its every move, ready to ride my giant crow at a moment's notice. Waiting for the opportunity.
