DESCRIPTION: It’s very much assumed that people do all kinds of things in their lives, and for many that thing is drugs and other illegal substances. Scandals about teenagers showing such worrisome behaviour has spiked somewhat in the village over the past few years, and because of that several sets of parents in the village are concerned about their children- They’ve changed their image, had new haircuts, begun hanging around with shady people and completely turned in to different people, and to keep tabs on them they’ve asked for people to keep a close eye on their sons and daughters and report back to them exactly what they’ve been doing and with whom. Of course- This change may be because of stress at home, or simply a new outlook on life, but some parents are sure that drugs are behind all of it..
OBJECTIVE: Spy on their children and report back to the parents what dubious behaviour they showed.. if any.
PAY: 1,000 Ryo and 200 EXP.

Carefully reading the paper for the mission briefing that had been given to them, the red haired Jounin began to stroll through the village freely, constantly looking behind her for any sign of the two genin of whom had chosen to partake on the mission. She wasn’t sure why the third hadn’t attended, but – it was his loss. He’d simply have to catch up on whatever ventures on teamwork the two would be doing today. However – it wasn’t all that difficult of a mission. More espionage than anything, hopefully it wouldn’t require any fighting. Turning her gaze towards those who would be behind her, Kagami and Kenji, she’d begin to speak as she walked, expecting them to listen to each and every word that she spoke.. ”The person in particular who we’re going to follow today is a young girl – Gishoku, Saya.” she’d inform them of this, and the following information. ”Barely eighteen. The girl is rumored to be spoilt by her parents, being an only child, and used to be your typical teenage princess – pink everywhere. Glitter, sequins, small dogs; you get my drift.” pause. ”Since gaining a new boyfriend in a reportedly rough-looking man several years her senior, she’s become much more gruff in her attitude towards her parents, and has secluded herself away from them, and has, most shockingly, began to favour darker colours, having dyed her hair from bleach blonde to black – her parents figure he’s gotten her hooked on something.” she gave them to brief on the girl that they were searching for. Being the leader of the team she’d been given an image of her and the people that she hung around, so that their faces would become familiar. Stopping in her tracks for a moment, she’d pass on a photograph of the girlfriend and boyfriend to the two genin behind her to examine so that they had a clear idea of who they’d be looking for.

"We'll be approaching the area where she lives in soon. Have you got any questions before we begin? I'll outline the process of what will happen after I've answered any questions." she'd explain with a nod of her head, continuing in her pace, not paying another look towards the two. Hopefully, the mission would go faultlessly.

The young Genjutsu user gripped her mission slip tightly, so tightly that it had crumpled irreparably at the middle. She hoped that it wouldn't prevent her from completing the mission back at the Kusakage Atrium, but to be safe, she placed it in her satchel for safekeeping, and to prevent her from damaging it any further. As always, her two tanto were attached to the back of the satchel and her kunai and shuriken were holstered in their respective carriers, found on her right leg and back left hip. The mission was just to investigate, but in the world of the ninja, being too safe didn't exist.

As Neru began to speak about the mission, and what exactly they had been assigned to do, Kagami's ears perked up and she shifted her attention to rest solely on her, save for the occasional glance in Kenji's direction. She listened to the description of the situation and began to form ideas and opinions. Her poncho ruffled a bit as she moved her arms around to adjust the strap of her satchel, but other than that and the quiet patter of her sandals on the ground, she was silent.

When her sensei stopped and handed her a photograph, she took it between her delicate looking fingers and held it up to examine it closely, taking in the older picture first. To sum it up as being the picture of a girly girl would be an understatement of the highest order. To Kagami, she looked more like a doll than a girl -- one that she remembered admiring through windows as a child. It was so regal that her mother hadn't ever been able to buy it for her, even though Kagami took every chance to deny that she liked it. This girl looked like she had it all, and the kunoichi couldn't help but wonder what would make her throw it all away.

The first thing that she noticed after flipping to the current picture was that there were still traces of pink in her appearance, but she paid closer attention to the dark pink shirt than she did the lighter colored bows. Something about it spoke to her in a subtle manner. Her eyes then became caught on the Kusagakure headband that she wore, and she found herself surprised. It seemed strange to her that a shinobi could fall so far from the right path, and that a girl that had looked as she did could even be a shinobi. Then again, she had thought the same of Neru for a brief moment.

As unsettling as the girl's stark transformation was to Kagami, the man's appearance was even more unnerving, and in a different way. He was incredibly large, and incredibly intimidating. Where she felt more sad for Saya, she was afraid of the man she was currently with. In a way, he looked like he had nothing to lose, and that made him all the more worrisome to Kagami. As nervous as he made her though, she made sure to commit his appearance to memory before passing the photo to Kenji and clearing her throat.

"I do have one question. I saw that she wore a shinobi headband and I was wondering if we know anything about her in regards to her being a ninja. Her rank, her style of fighting, her jutsu? I know we're just supposed to be looking into what she's up to, but if it comes down to a fight... Well, I don't think it would be so great if we got caught off guard."

As he was back at the meeting place, Kenji was dressed in his white dogi and green robe. Ninja tools, in thigh holsters, were covered by the robe, and his headband was concealed within the bangs of his hair. At first glance, he would not even appear as a shinobi at all. But that was part of his intent. It was how he worked in and out of shinobi missions and familial duties. As was also common, Kenji walked in silence with his two female teammates. The situation was explained, but from just looking at the pictures he was eventually shown, he had deduced all he needed to know for a non-confrontational situation. The girl was a spoiled brat. She probably had anything she could ever want just given to her by her parents. What did this mean?

She has no idea what it is like to deal with hard times. That was why she clung to this 'man'. He represents danger, something she had never known before and as such, was curious about it. He makes it look dazzling, and she fawns over him and strives to be like him, so she too could live that 'exciting' life.

Did he have any questions? Not really. He knew what sort of girl she was, spoiled, clueless, unlearned in the ways of real life. How then did she get the headband? Kenji was sure she didn't earn it. To learn the ways of the shinobi was to deal with a life of danger. If she knew of it beforehand, she would not have become so attracted to the man for such. Was there another reason she was drawn to him? He wanted to know, and so in the end, that was his first question.

"More importantly in my mind, do we have any verification that she truly earned that headband?" A hefty sentence, on his part, but as he had said on prior occasions, though not necessarily to Kagami and Neru, he spoke when it was necessary.

After he had looked over the pictures, and heard all Neru had said, he would hand the pictures back, and await a response to such questions. Depending on the answer, he may have another question, but he wasn't exactly worried about the man, as Kagami was. For in his experience, men only bulked up as this one had when they were trying to cover up something. Sexual compensation aside, there was also the fact that they would bulk up to make themselves appear tough, when really they were cowards. That was Kenji's opinion. Whether it was a correct assumption or not did not matter to him though, for if the man tried something, Kenji would still be ready.

"I do have one question. I saw that she wore a shinobi headband and I was wondering if we know anything about her in regards to her being a ninja…”

The question asked was understandable enough. The picture had indeed showed a shinobi headband as part of the female’s guise. It wasn’t expected for them to confront her or be confronted, but of course, alike every other aspect of shinobi life, some things didn’t go to plan. Of course, the mission was fairly simple and assuring that they all kept to the guidelines and didn’t do anything too out of plan, she figured that it would go without trouble. However – the only easily distinguishable problem that they had was if her muscular friend chose to hang about and start something if he spotted them. Henceforth; stealth was of the utmost importance. Turning her gaze so casually to Kagami, she’d nod her head a single time. ”She’s a user of Wind release but – she’s said to be quite a dull knife as far as her shinobi abilities are concerned.” she’d inform them this, speaking of the girls incompetence as a shinobi. Apparently, from what she’d heard, she hadn’t really been part of any shinobi business for months now, choosing to simply laze at home and shop around the village and wear the headband as more of a fashion accessory than anything. Such an attitude made the jounin sigh at the youth of today – she did have hope for the future, but not in people alike the client’s daughter. Of course – she wouldn’t dare tell them this as frankly, it was their own job to recognize the problematic behaviour that their daughter displayed. Gazing at her two shinobi, she could only hope that the same wouldn’t happen to them in the next few months, or years. "I'm not too concerned about her, really." pause.

"..It's her boyfriend; Dekkukuchi, Jin, who I believe will be the challenge.

..But assuming that you all do as your told and use your brains, there won't be need for such confrontation.."

She warned, not exactly wanting it to come to that. However - they were required to know the specifics of him, of course. Just in case. "He isn't a shinobi, no. But he's incredibly strong and I don't doubt that he'd be able to take someone out with one simple punch alone." her tone was stern; voicing the seriousness of the situation that they were going to be plunged in to. She didn't doubt that she'd be able to easily protect them if it required that, but as fully-fledged shinobi, the were required to protect themselves, and with no inkling of how they acted together as a team, would this spell out danger for the both of them? Or would it prove to be the start of a fantastic team? Only time would tell. But- onwards she walked, moving everyone closer to the area where she lived. With many people in the street, they wouldn't look any different to the dozens of shinobi who walked across the area, so in order to blend in, they already had some kind of advantage. Turning a corner and walking down another street, rows and rows of beautifully trimmed green hedges lining the borders of the homes on either side, she'd move down, listening to Kenji as he too voiced a question to her in regards to the girl who they were meant to be following. The area was obviously a wealthier part of town; each house bearing a golden number.

"Rumour has it she only barely passed academy. She's an official shinobi of the village, but; she hasn't been very active on the work-front of things."

Continuing to walk, soon the woman would come to a halt, stopping in her place and gazing at a nearby home in the distance; it was beautiful to gaze at, but with the tall gates, fence and solitary-looking security system, it looked more like a jail more than anything else. Looking back at her two shinobi and expecting them to stop as well, she'd then prepare to speak; the mission had begun.. but how long would it take for the girl to escape her home and clamber on to the streets? Unknowingly to them, an all-too familiar figure was beginning to make his way towards the home itself, his muscled body forming a tall shadow over everything as he moved in the nearby alleys.

"..We're here.
Kenji - I want you on lookout."

"Kind of ironic. I thought the Wind Release was supposed to be sharp or something."

Of course, Kagami didn't know that Wind Release Jutsu were sharp for a fact. It was merely something that she had heard when she was at the Academy. During her time there, she had made a point to learn as much about as many things as she possibly could. The 5 Elemental Releases were just a few of those things. Another fact was that she had never encountered the Wind Release before, so she had no idea what people who used it were capable of. All she knew was Yin -- Genjutsu.

Upon mention of the boyfriend, Kagami's body tensed slightly, though she wasn't sure if anybody would notice. She knew that she would probably be able to handle the girl if anything were to happen, especially if she truly was as much of a dud as she was made out to be. The man, however, was another story. He was much larger, older, and scarier than she was, and she knew that she couldn't knock anybody out cold with five blows, let alone one. All she really had up her sleeves were her a few tricks -- a true illusionist cliche.

If what Neru said was true though -- that if they used their heads they wouldn't need to worry about anything going wrong -- then Kagami would have nothing to worry about. After all, she was plenty smart. Whatever higher power existed knew she hadn't made it through because of looks or strength. Her head was what made her stand out, and what allowed her to use her techniques so skillfully. Perhaps the saying "Brain over brawn," was true.

As Neru continued to walk, so did Kagami, making an effort to soften her body and unlock her joints and muscles. The area was crawling with other Shinobi of the village, and Kagami nodded and smiled at each one she came close to. She felt a connection of sorts to them. They were all in the same position, though each of them was at a different depth depending on rank and skills. It seemed strange to her that there would be so many of them near such an upscale part of the village, but maybe she would find herself in the same place one day. A real rags to riches story.

When they came to a stop again, Kagami looked to Neru only to see her looking off in the distance. Turning her head in the same direction, the kunoichi's eyes would land on a tall gate that in design was beautiful, but in application seemed almost sad. Up until that moment, Kagami hadn't been able to understand why a girl who had seemed so happy would want to distance herself from her family and a lavish lifestyle, but right then and there, something in her mind clicked.

"Oh..."

The single sound was barely audible and she wasn't really concerned with whether it was heard or not. It carried with it a tone of understanding and a sort of melancholy. She knew what it was to be unhappy, but she had always thought that she had felt such a way because of her poverty, and that only poor people could ever feel unhappy. A truly naive notion, but something that she had thought to be true for a long time. She was so distracted by the metaphorical walls crashing down that she almost didn't hear Neru give Kenji his assignment.

"What do you want me to do? What's my part?"

Kenji found it ironic indeed! But, not for the same reason as Kagami. For Kenji himself held some manner of skill with Wind Release. He was no expert, preferring hand-to-hand combat in close quarters, but he had been studying wind release for the sole purpose of incorporating it into his physical skills. He hoped to one day develop the two together, into a greater skill set for himself. The fact that the girl knew some Wind Release came as a surprise, but it would not worry him. As Neru said, the true worry was the boyfriend. However, Kenji did not think much of him. True, he was big and bulky enough that a single punch would do some real damage, but that was only a worry if he could land that single punch. The man had clearly toned himself for combat, but Kenji had toned himself for speed as well. He did not worry for himself, but he did for those he was with. Neru probably had nothing to worry about, being a Jounin, but Kagami probably did not stand a chance in close quarters.

Before he was even asked, after he saw the boyfriend approaching, Kenji was already on the lookout. He kept an eye on him, as he approached the house, while he took some time to survey the layout of their surroundings. Aside from the boyfriend, there was nothing of danger about just yet, but he still kept watch, even as the girl answered the door, and popped out to embrace and kiss the older man. Kenji frowned at this. Not only was she weak as a shinobi, though parading herself as one, but she was also naive. Kenji had no doubt that this man was leading her on. Normally, due to her actions, he would not feel sorry for her, but the fact that she was naive to his false attentions made Kenji angrier over it.

Neru was in charge, and Kenji had to do things as she instructed, simply because this was a team mission. However, Kenji wished more than anything to just leap in and beat the man down, and be done with it all. Popping emitted from his hand as his fingers flexed and curled into fists. His hind mind was telling him to leap in and take action, but that reasonable thought within him kept him back. He had to listen to the chain of command, and so without turning his head, he would speak in a hushed tone. "Plan of action?" he inquired, simply, wanting to be in action as soon as possible, so he could put an end to this man's charade.

[OOC: Not wanting to limit you or anything jett, but as I'm GMing this mission, I'll be taking the role of both the boyfriend and the girl, so I'll go along with the bits that you wrote out in your post about the guy reaching the house and kissing the girl, but I'll take it on from here~]

"Aahahaha.. oh my; how very droll, Kagami."

To this, even in the most serious of situations, Neru seemed to crack a smirk, it slowly becoming clear on her face as she took in Kagami's words. Of course, she was unsure whether she genuinely asked if Wind release was supposed to be quite a sharp element, but she figured that she was first and foremost playing on the fact that the girl wasn't exactly the smartest in the village. However, even though she seemed to be somewhat entertained by her keen choice of words, her expression soon changed again, the smirk leaving it as she tried to concentrate on the situation around them. To be sure; the woman wasn't the type to get distracted, but- this small, meager moment proved that even she had a sense of humor. Her keen eyes watching around them as the situation unfolded, quite some distance away the same shadowed figure beginning to make his way towards the manor, the three would however stand on the street's edge, gazing up at the destination that he was, unknowingly to them, headed to.

Unless the fabled Byakugan of the male managed to pick up on him.

But then- it seemed as if the girl had noticed Neru's choice of direction to give Kenji, his eyes able to see far and henceforth quite a good thing to have on the team. But where she was concerned, her abilities were quite unique - much more different to the specialties of her leader and her teammates. Genjutsu; even if her range of ability was in its infancy, she didn't doubt for one moment that Kagami would be able to be quite beneficial to the team, but where Kenji was more suited to close-range, due to the girl's build and her own talents, it was best for her to stick back. "Should we need it; your duty will be to distract the target - disorientate them to weaken their senses - After that pivotal part, either Kenji or Daichi can go onwards to take advantage of that." she spoke. She had no inclination of how confident the girl was in her abilities, but from her experience with genjutsu users, it was quite often that they felt undermined by the abilities of others who had more physical power than themselves - and so, Neru, even with her less than friendly stare, was intent on proving Kagami otherwise, even if she knew so in the first place. "And of course - I'll give my aid as well, if necessary." She added this in, stating her allegiance.

Gazing off towards the home once more where the towering giant had made his appearance, approaching the door where the girl stood, her arms crossed playfully watching as he came close, Neru would leave her eyes there for a few moments, before turning to look back at Kenji, of whom had begun to speak. "I admit." the red haired woman would begin to speak, her tone as hushed as it had previously been. "This mission isn't about jumping to conclusions and likewise; jumping in to a situation." she'd tell him, having noticed the impatient clicking of his hands and the almost twitch-like movements he made to go along with it. Patience was a virtue that many lacked, and she simply hoped to instill such a sense within her students. "..We are here to watch, to see what happens and reel back the information back to her parents." a pause. "We have to remove ourselves from the situation and simply act as bystanders." Perhaps it was a mundane concept, but there was plenty of time for more interesting action where fighting was concerned. As shinobi who were supposed to be dedicated to keeping the peace within Kusagakure, she understood how hard it was to stay back after learning about the people they had to be concerned with in missions, but it was something that was developed with time. Kenji's determination to throw himself forwards was respected in a way; but it had to be curbed in situations like these.

"..Look."

And now - after having assumed greetings in the form of perhaps a less than classy kiss, the two of them practically breathing down each other's throats whilst a woman who could only be assumed to be the mother of the girl gazed irritably from the top window, the man then took hold of the time they had, starting to move away from the house with the girl's soft hand in his own, she gigging wildly as her romeo came to take her away. Neru, with her own gaze now fixed on her two students before her.. "What do you see?" she'd speak, requesting them to silently explain what they could see as she was so blind to what was happening, turning the other way. From their position, several trees in direct view of the home, the pair they were searching for wouldn't be able to easily see them - or, would be easily able to see them staring at least. They both ran down the path, the man obviously taking charge and the girl running after him hand-in-hand, as they proceeded to do so, passing through the large gates and then running elsewhere down the street towards a line of houses, their pace soon slowing down to a casual walk. And they began to speak, although it was unaudible from where they were. Would they continue to follow them? Or would they decide to give up now lest to prevent the risk of confrontation? Continuing to giggle, such a loud, obnoxious noise rupturing the air from their position several meters away, they'd keep walking, her head nuzzling in to the almost unnaturally large arm to her side. If the trio didn't know the backstory, then it would surely be viewed as being cute.

'She's smiling? She actually has a sense of humor? Who would have thought?'

After getting over the initial surprise of her remark drawing some form of amusement from Neru, Kagami managed to catch another glimpse of the man, seemingly headed in the direction of the manor. Her hands began to smooth the hair at the back of her head, taking locks of it between two fingers and running them down the length. Not so much a nervous twitch as it was a thoughtless motion that was forever embedded into her muscle memory. Her eyes returned to Neru as she began to speak once more, and she took every word with care and consideration.

It seemed that she might not even need to do much of anything in the mission, but that was fine by her. Though she, as well as Neru and Kenji, were shinobi, any time that fighting could be avoided was fine in her opinion. She imagined it was the same for many others in her profession. A lot of people called shinobi tools of war, soldiers that know nothing but battle, but it wasn't true. Shinobi were trained to do what needed to be done, and if that meant watch, then they watched. If it meant kill, then they killed. Kagami wasn't sure if this was really the case, but it was the idea that she liked to stick to, given her lack of fighting ability.

With the explanation given, Kagami nodded her head briefly but definitely. She turned her attention back to the manor, and though she didn't have eyes that could see into the distance with clarity, she figured that it was probably better for her that she couldn't see what was happening. Her head turned back towards Neru, listening to what she said to Kenji and processing it herself. There was nothing she wanted more than to be proactive and slap some sense into the rich girl, but there was so much holding her back -- doubt in herself, the things Neru was saying -- that she was tightly restrained.

As they came into Kagami's sight, her eyes trained themselves on the two, taking in every detail that they possibly could. This information quickly transferred to her brain where she quickly came up with several thoughts about the situation that was taking place before her. As a Genjutsu user she needed to be able to pay close attention to even the smallest of details, and she was more than confident in her ability to do so. It was likely the only aspect of her skills that she had the utmost faith in.

"I don't think he likes being at her parents' house. It seemed like he was pretty eager to get away from it. He took her and ran until they were a decent distance away, and only then did he slow to a walk. And then there's her... She's smitten with him, and stays incredibly close to him from what I can see. It's almost like she can't get enough of him."

She spoke her observations quickly and clearly, not once taking her eyes from the duo. They were getting farther away with each second that passed, and she didn't want to lose them so early in the mission. Turning to face Neru, she looked at her without speaking, searching for some sort of permission to follow behind them to continue observing.

Kenji listened, as Neru spoke, and in silence continued to watch their surroundings. He was not an expert at long range surveillance, but it was a habit he picked up on in his youth, to always be aware of what was around him. Of course, he did overreact at times, because of sounds or sensations he came to while out in the field, which in some way was a result of his anxiousness. He did tend to want to jump to action, because he was not the sort of person to just sit back and do nothing. Being idle, he hated. Nevertheless, for now, he kept himself in check, and watched, as Neru spoke softly.

He noticed the parents in the windows upstairs. He noticed the kiss the two shared, and how it lacked any true romance. Kagami said the girl was smitten, but Kenji did not agree. He did not see true love. At least, not on his part. The guy obviously did not want to be near the house, if only simply because he knew that her parents did not approve of him. Perhaps she felt love for him, but in the way they kissed, in the way they hurried off, all he saw was ... lust. And he was sure, once the pair had gotten far enough away from the house, that would be what they would end up in. The throes of passion.

Being on a recon mission was not something that thrilled him. He hated being idle, and being on a recon mission was being idle, in his mind. He understood the necessity of knowledge and being prepared, but he was not the sort to simply do that. He trained to be a fighter, not a spy. He trained to hunt down those that endangered the weak, not to investigate. And so, standing there, staring at a pair of young kids on the edge of tearing each others clothes off was not his idea of a prosperous use of his time. He heaved a sigh, after some time, and despite his desires, kept his eyes open, and watching... not just the two targets, but the area as a whole.

"A bad love story." was his only response as to what he saw. He had spent far too much time dilly-dallying because of the war. He didn't want to be doing pointless things, which was how he viewed this current situation, and wanted to be doing something that would have some effect. Why were they watching a pair of kids whose love, or lack thereof whichever the case may be, was approved of or not? What effect did it have on the village? And what did it have to do with the danger insinuated within the mission slip that had been posted at the Atrium?

Kagami's careful notation of the situation was taken in by the red-haired Jounin, allowing her to grasp exactly what was happening. Of course, being as talented as she was, she'd already had an idea of what had proceeded by the sounds that were around them, and by her eyes, which were only loosely gazing at the situation behind them from what she could see in the limited range. She was sure that one of the two, or both of them were easily becoming bored with the situation that was before them but it was an important lesson to learn. Shinobi work wasn't all about the action, the violence, the dramatic consequences. As infiltration and information gathering was her own personal preference, she chose to instill within them the knowledge that it branched out to more fields than they dared guess. It was about the small details - the things that they, as shionbi could pick up on whilst perhaps those without the gifts blessed to them couldn't use. The things that they took for granted each day. Given the fact that she was sure many genin came from academy expecting to jump head first in to the dangerous shinobi life, it was important to show that it wasn't all about the glitz and glamor. More.. silent work like they were doing now was also a very important part to village dynamics. Did they agree, or ignore this unknown truth?

Whilst she didn't scold him, he being old enough to know, she instead chose to open her mouth, gently speaking the following words; "Kenji - Even with Kagami having explained, I expect you too to relay information back, even if she has already spoken. This mission is about keeping a track on them and what they do, after all." her words were still gentle, but stern, signifying that she was trying to get him to join in some more. From the notion she'd thought about earlier in regards to the two not enjoying as much as they would say, a more dynamic mission, she expected them to go along with it. "As teammates, you work with each other. The criteria of this mission isn't to fight, nor to engage in combat, simply observe. Because of this; you work together to pick up as much details as you can." And at the end of this, she wouldn't smile, or respond with a nod of her head to place her words in to concrete. Instead, her arms would stay glued to her sides, the soft fabric of her skirts brushing against the pavement. "That way, if you get anything wrong, your partner should be able to remedy it."

And now- from the steady walk which had developed, the girl continue to stay, clinging to the arm of the man where they would then start to fade out of view as the man turned a corner. Shifting her position, the jounin then began to move soundlessly along the pavement they were on, moving swiftly with her hand beconing the other two to follow her. Moving to another place slightly down the street they were on, it permitted a gaze of the long row of terrace houses which the couple had strolled down to, the long jet black hair of the girl slick in contrast to the man's shaggy crop. Rushing off to the street, a gallant display of her dress blowing in the wind, she'd move off to the left, hidden from view from the couple who by now hadn't even been aware that they had three stalkers. In one single jump the jounin made the leap on to a low rooftop, then making the jump on to a higher one. From this elevated position it allowed a beautiful view of the village from the rooftops of a more wealthy part of the village, able to see gardens full of flowers and expensive decorum for miles. With one wide glimpse towards the two, she'd keep moving along the flat rooftop, then, after a short while, holding her hand out before her, towards the other two as a signal to stop.

Just what was happening?

From the position they were at, the red-haired jounin would duck somewhat, her form lowered as she narrowed her eyes down at the two below, enamoured in whatever they were doing. She watched as from the pocket of the man, he produced what seemed to be some kind of cylinder-like pot. With one easy twist he'd removed the cap, pouring something solid in to the open hands of the girl, the childlike look on her face that one of unbound mischief, a wide, pearly grin running from cheek to cheek. And then, shuffling the white pot back in to his pockets, he'd then watch her as they both moved in to the hedged edge of the pavement a little.

She rose her hand; downing whatever had been placed in it.

A giggle.

He rose his own hand, but instead - to rest upon her shoulder, before then wrapping it around her waist, his force moving the two of them on to the pavement. It was by no means violent - enamored with some kind of hilarity she simply needed a push to get going. With what had just gone on; it was easy to say that the man had assumed that it wasn't best to hang around there for long. Moments later, the two would begin to walk again, some kind of glass-like glint able to be seen from the large pockets of his well-worn coat, she now practically dangling by his arm, chatting away endlessly, her shrill voice lingering in the cool air. As reality turned the situation back to Neru and her long red hair, she'd in turn look back at her students, her eyes anticipating for them to explain what they had seen.

Though she chose not to take too much notice of what Neru had said to Kenji after they each reported their findings, she could hear in the words and tone of voice that she was giving something of a reprimand to Kenji. Kagami didn't make her thoughts known at that point, but it did strike her as odd. They looked to her to be around the same age, and even though Neru was both of their superior, she found it funny in a way. An adult almost scolding another adult, and they were near the same age.

And then without a word, Neru began to move, making Kagami's nose twitch in the slightest of ways. It irked her that they had to wait to do anything -- to ask permission -- and that Neru could simply move without a word, but she remained quiet. The mission was all that was important. If she still felt irritation later, then she might choose to voice her grievances. If she didn't, then obviously it would never have even been of much importance.

She followed along quietly, though on the opposite side of the street that Neru had taken to so as to keep the two targets within her line of sight. Saya was definitely a clinger, and Kagami couldn't help but wonder if that was what she was really like. If the man wanted it that way and had made her as such, or if he was not a fan and had a temper that was slowly boiling with each second she hung to him. A swell of minor anxiety over the situation grew in Kagami's tiny frame, and she hoped that it wouldn't turn to violence.

She saw the quick flash of Neru jumpin up onto the two rooftops out of her peripheral vision, and quickly moved to do the same. With two brief jumps, she found herself somewhere behind where Neru had gotten to. She didn't recognize the plants, or the overall beauty of her home, instead keeping her eyes trained on the young girl and the slightly older man. She crouched behind Neru as her hand was held out, and peered over to see what was happening. Naturally she knew that if they needed to stop and be careful, there was something important happening.

She watched as he pulled the container out, and emptied something from within it into the girl's hands. And then she watched as the girl emptied it into her mouth, likely swallowing it. Kagami didn't know much about drugs because even though she was surrounded by them as a child, her mother had made sure that she was never involved in any of it. What she did know, though, was that it was completely possible to take them by mouth.

"That jar... We could use it as evidence of some kind. Should we try to get it?"

Kenji was a man of action. Lack of action, something he saw a plenty within Kusa no Kuni during the wars, was what led to a lot of destruction. he understood the need for knowledge, but he was not there to babysit kids. Sure, drug problems should be handled, but why did the parents of these kids need the shinobi to step in? The shinobi or police could handle the drugs through their own means, but seeking out what sort of crowd their children hung around was in the responsibility of the parents themselves. It felt more like the parents were paying the shinobi to do what the parents themselves should do. At least, to Kenji.

When they moved on to another area, to get a better view on the pair as they moved, Kenji followed, with no direction needed. Still, he was anxious to do something. Either collect them for misdemeanors, which they could not do without evidence, or just leave because it was going nowhere. At the time, it was all rather useless to him. The girl was all clingy, she was on cloud nine, but Kenji could see through the guy. He did not care. Kenji wasn't sure what the guy's aim was, but he was using the girl for something. It was obvious in the way he acted around her. She was the one that leaped onto him for the kiss, while he didn't move an inch. He was the one to drag her off, while she had shown no real care to get away from the house. He was leading her on, he was tricking her into thinking he cared, when all he was concerned with was using her for ... something. Again, he wasn't sure what.

The emergence of the consumption of drugs, finally, did catch his attention. It did not make anything clearer, really, however. Drugs was related, but it did not clue to what the real relationship between the two was. Was he using her simply to test the drugs effects, meaning that he was creating some new kind of drug? Was he using her as a guinea pig for some other purpose? Or was she being used as a human smuggling device, and gave her a small amount of the drug so that she'd float to cloud ten, and be oblivious to what happened afterward? He'd settle in for now, and continue to watch silently. Despite his shift in attentions now, he was still antsy, to some degree, for action. Now that drugs were involved, he wanted simply to jump down, capture the two, and drag them off for questioning with the interrogation squad. It was after all, foolish to let them roam free, now that they knew they not only had drugs of some kind, but were using them. This opened up numerous possibilities, none of which favorable.

"No."

Her answer was sharp and quick to the point, but at the same, there was some kind of softer quality to it which somehow justified its harshness. She hadn't meant it to sound as.. tough, of course, but she was simply portraying the truth of the mission that they were taking. They weren't to intervene in anything - attempting to get the jar would only create problems between the group and the two people they were following. Although she didn't doubt that they surely had an idea that they were being followed by people sometimes, they acted as if they were alone, which was quite interesting. But, the three knew what they had seen from the man in regards to the jar being taken out of his pocket, so they had evidence from their own eyes that something more shady was occuring between the daughter and her boyfriend. But what could come from this? It was unsure, and whatever future the daughter had in store for herself, sadly, was none of the team's business to go so far as that, unless it was mission-orientated.

And so, in the lowered position that she and the team found themselves in, Neru would hold out her arm once more to signal for them to not move as she saw the pair walk away, slowly fading in to one of the side-streets. It was unknown exactly what would happen from now on but they had everything that they needed to quality for the mission itself. It was a harsh reality that they were disallowed to go so far even if the situation itself on good moral beliefs needed it. "We've completed the mission brief - but I admit;" a pause, as she'd turn to Kagami in paticular, the only one who had spoken. It seemed as if Kenji still stood reserved, but there was enough time to work on that. "Sometimes you may want to start something - to take things further than the mission asks. But I implore you; don't. It may cause more damage than you initially expect." It would be be beneficial to find the jar itself and bring it back, but there were too many risks involved in such a task, that it might turn out dangerous, given the nature of the man who the girl was involved with. Was it love? Or just some pathetic sham on his behalf? She seemed so enamoured - so overwhelmed as she tugged at his arm whilst he showed perhaps only the slightest of smiles, although that in itself showed signs of a larger grin beneath - or at least, that was the last thing the three would see from the two of them. At the current time, Neru then lowered her arm and began to make her way off the rooftop which the team had positioned upon to follow the two of them.

In a blur of red hair, the female would soon be positioned on back on the pavement, hopping backwards sightly to allow more room for the other two. Once they recollected by her, she'd then hold both of her hands together, narrowing her eyes down for only a moment before allowing them to relax. "You both acted very maturely on this mission." a pause. "I know that standing still and doing little more than nothing perhaps isn't what you both expected, but it teaches you a valuable lesson -"

A smile.

"I'm sure that you're both well versed in the shinobi world but there are certain aspects - particularly espionage - that come up in daily life which shinobi are required to do. Granted; there are paticular kinds of people talented in different fields, but perhaps you might come away from this experience wanting to learn more about that, or wanting to steer clear of it." another sharp grin as she turned to look at Kenji, as if to relate the last sentence of what she'd said to him. She'd noticed his fidgeting - his silence, and the way that he didn't exactly enjoy the mission, but it was understandable. Some favored a shinobi life full of action, whilst others found thrill in spying and sneaking in to places. Kenji, evidently, was one of the former. Kagami.. she couldn't quite box her in to either of them at this stage. "Regardless; good work. I'll be creating a writeup to follow our mission to explain what we'd noticed from the two of them. It's been, nice working with you both. You may go collect your rewards now." and with this, the red-haired kunoichi would nod her head and turn, only to walk off elsewhere in to the village, soon disappearing from sight after turning a corner.

"Oh..."

The reply to her previous question had caught Kagami off guard and tripped her up, almost as if the words had taken on a tangible form and rushed her. After all, the mission was to gather information and report the findings. The kunoichi had thought they would need proof, some type of evidence to show that their words were true. Perhaps a shinobi's word was solid enough, and made any sort of attestation moot and unnecessary.

She listened closely to what Neru said next, and found herself feeling exactly as she described. She wanted to jump down from the roof and get closer to thee two -- close enough to snatch the jar from the man's person and bring it back to the Atrium, perhaps give it to the authorities that dealt with criminal activity within the village that was on the level of civilian. She wouldn't mind slapping the girl either, maybe even yell at her for throwing away a life that most people -- herself included -- could only dream about. Naturally, that would easily turn dangerous. Kagami wasn't exactly a trained thief, and pickpocketing was definitely not something she had ever done.

"I understand... But I don't exactly like the thought."

As she spoke, she followed Neru's path and made her descent from the rooftop to the ground, landing just before the woman. She smiled a small smile and nodded her head at the remark on their maturity, glad that she hadn't come off as anything else on her very first mission. It was definitely different for her to simply watch and not do. Though she wasn't incredibly active in the Academy, there had been more physical exercises than their had been mental or stealth. However, with her skills, maybe a more stealth based outlook would be best for Kagami.

"Ok... See you later, Neru-sensei!"

Her goodbye, though somewhat upbeat and optimistic, wasn't without it's worry. Though it wasn't at the forefront of Kagami's thoughts, Neru had seemed almost final in her leave, as if they wouldn't be working on missions or as a team again. The Genjutsu using kunoichi found it curious, but it was buried with the thought of a reward for completing the assignment.

She turned to smile at Kenji, and managed to just catch herself before winking. The excitement was like a fast spreading drug in her veins. She tore out of her position and made for the Kusakage Atrium with a great deal of speed.
