"Close your eyes, and continue your attack, my boy..." An older man with his eyes covered with a blindfold, smiling slightly at the small boy known as Nishi. Nishi grunted as quietly as he could. "Nishi-chan. Steady your breathing, attack like the rain. Swiftly, quietly, and repetitively." the old, blindfolded man said as Nishi mouthed his words and rolled his eyes. The old man's smile quickly faded.
"I understand that the training is tedious, Nishi-chan. But it is necessary. You're an intelligent man, I know you understand. And I have faith that you can succeed. Please, once more." Nishi's instructor said, once more dropping into a low defensive stance. Nishi took a deep breath before launching himself forward. The old man immediately whipped around, his silver-lined hair swinging around as he twirled. Nishi thought quickly about what his next move should be - dodge his master's counter-attack with a swift kick, or dodge the counter-attack with a weak ninjutsu? His master made the decision for him extremely fast by coming around with a backwards flying roundhouse kick.
This quick, high powered attack threw Nishi off his guard, and his instructor's shoe connected right on Nishi's chest as he jumped to counter his master with a Suiton bullet. Nishi's light body hit the ground with a loud thud, but the boy immediately rolled away from his instructor, who had switched stances and was now advancing on the boy. As Nishi sprang back to his feet, his instructor was already launching a huge uppercut right at him, which connected right on his chin. A loud popping noise echoed throughout the small gym as Nishi's body turned into a large doll that was previously sitting at a desk in the corner of the room. The instructor immediately realized that Nishi's Kawarimi no Jutsu had been successful and turned on the spot to defend himself.
Nishi was flying through the air at his instructor once more, with his two flaming Ninjato swords in his hands, ready to strike down his trainer. Nishi's instructor was old, but he was faster than ever. Before Nishi could even see what happened, two large metallic poles were in his instructor's hands. "You must be quicker! Hit like the rain, m'boy!" his instructor yelled, now pulling the bandana from his eyes.
The two exchanged strikes over and over again, Nishi attempting to slice through the iron defense of his trainer. When the instructor finally saw an opening in the boy's attacks, he launched a spinning kick that knocked the boy flat on his back. Seconds later Nishi's vision came back to him, realizing that his instructor was standing over him with a grin. "Nishi-chan. You are the hardest working student I have had, but please my boy. There is such a thing as over-working yourself. I suggest that you return to your dwelling and take the rest of the day off?" the instructor said, infuriating Nishi.
"But Bosaki-sensei!" Nishi yelled, hiding just how angry he really was. It wasn't too thrilling for him to learn that his training for the day would be cut short.
"Nishi-chan. Go home, you can come back early tomorrow, or if you really need to, late tonight. Just knock on the door. For now though, I am ever so kindly asking you to vacate the premises." the trainer called Bosaki said very smoothly.
Nishi nodded and got up, holding his head in a somewhat shameful way as he walked to the door. "Thank you sensei, for everything." Nishi said, quickly shuffling out the door before he could hear a response from his teacher. "Time to go home and train, then." Nishi said to himself with a sigh, walking through the mist-filled streets of Kirigakure.
