Lost Legacies

[The Dude]

Yui's face bore a slight frown. Her arms crossed her chest and she huffed impatiently as she let herself fall into a lean against the wall of the great tower. Admittedly, she was early and had no right to be impatient with the boy. She was even aware of her own fault in logical reasoning, but she paid it no mind and blew it off as a concern to be addressed for another time. A time when she would not longer be pleased with the way she was developing as a person.

She was here, in this forgotten village, to find her father, Kiyoshi Tenzo. She had come here to the tower in accordance with Ji's wishes to meet somewhere for a walk about the town while they discussed what happened to Kiyoshi. When she discussed this with him briefly in the past, Ji had been bogged down with the work and stress of being Kage in a ruined village. It was an understandable circumstance, and considering the boy had lost his father who fought alongside her own; Yui was extending a sympathetic feeling towards the young leader.

All in all though it had been quite some time since any news on where her father had gone off to. So she arranged this small meeting to discuss what the village knew if anything, and her best options to move forward towards her goal at this point. She had been content to lend a hand around the village and help restore it with some construction but her true intentions were always to be rewarded with more information on her father. She was starting to grow fearful of a life living in one village without anymore adventures. Also that she wouldn't find her father, which would be devastating but somehow paled in comparison to the idea of simply outlasting her own existence.

She looked to the shadow that both her her and the building cast upon the ground. A smile at the corner of her lips penetrated her foul mood. It was almost time for Ji to arrive...

[Messatsu!]

As if on cue with impeccable timing, Ji finally arrived as expected and on time. He approached her from the righter most side, only a handful of meters away. Surprisingly, he walked straight past her and instead of stopping, he waved his hand forward, gesturing her to follow in turn.

Grinning, he looked forward and continued to move throughout the city as it, surprisingly, hadn't been touched by a single drop of rain thus far. Regardless, Ji took the initiative and willfully introduced himself, properly that is.

"Hi, I'm Ji, nice to meet you Yui, well, officially. We've met before but with all the things I've had to take care of as the leader of this village, it wasn't anything to go off of. "

For a moment he paused and glanced back over his shoulder, checking to make sure Uso had made it as well. While Ji knew he would have, he merely continued with what he had to say.

"So, I'm sure there is an important reason you called me out here today haha. So what can I do you for?"

[The Dude]

"Of course," said Yui more than aware of their brief greeting and arrangement. She had signed on to the roster for Amegakure in the hopes of aid from the shinobi, but so far she had been the one aiding the village in it's reconstruction. "I understand you were busy and as the new kage there was a lot on your plate at the time. Shall we?" He waved her arm to gesture for a walk about the village.

Without waiting for him to take the lead she started onto the walk herself stretching her arms high into the air. She had been getting unusually stiff with all the sitting around and nothing being done so far. "You told me when we first met, that your father was Masuyo Kekkai and with the aid of Goryo Tenzo, Kiyoshi Tenzo, and a roaming samurai they were able to free the village. You also mentioned your father..." She paused glancing at Ji nervously as she worried whether this would upset him. "died with Goryo. That was when I agreed to join your village but I haven't been completely honest with why."

Her arms folded behind her head now as they walked the streets. "You see, I'm not just a Tenzo looking for a place to call home. I have a home and I left it not to find a place, but rather a person. My father to be exact. My father, Kiyoshi Tenzo, who was last seen descending into the village's underground entrance with your father. The records show that his body wasn't found but he seems to have mysteriously vanished without a trace and the trail I was pursuing has grown cold."

[Messatsu!]

Walking through both the main and side streets, Ji maintained a straight forward field of vision as Yui expressed her issues and concerns. It turned out that she -just as much as Ji himself- wanted to find out more about her father, however, unlike Ji's own, the possibility of Kiyoshi being alive had easily been possible.

Full well knowing that the inquiry regarding his fathers death was innocent and pure, he brushed it off as best as possible and nodded to acknowledge everything she had said leading up to that point.

"Well, thats quite an interesting development you have there. I'll do as much as I can thus far but as for giving you as much information as possible about Kiyoshi, it's little to nothing. By the time I came home from Namyeol's world, all of this had already occurred. . ."

He paused and folded his arms in tandem with turning around a corner that lead into a side street.

"With that said, I only know just as much as yourself. But, I have a possible solution. Whenever I've had the chance, I've been tracking anyone who knew our fathers or anything about Amegakure before our own arrival. Unfortunately, I haven't had any luck so far, so please, forgive me."

[The Dude]

"I see." Both Yui's voice and heart sank as she once again came to the dead end where her father's trail grew cold. The frustrating thing was just how often it happened during her attempts to track him down. It always seemed there was actual news and evidence of where he had been only for him to disappear without a trace. Then months or years later news and rumors would crop up about him showing up in another country in passing but he was always careful to leave no trace. "Well, I appreciate your aid and hospitality. I know you don't owe me anything, but giving me a home for the time is just damn decent of you." She weakly smiled trying to veil her sadness but it was no use.

"If you can, please keep me updated on any information you find out in your travels in the future. I'll do the same for you if I find out anything about your father." Her eyes seemed to glaze and unfocused with distant thoughts in her head as they walked down the side street. It was darker here but felt like a safe enough place for their conversation. Besides that the darkness seemed to be a reassuring thing to Yui as she stepped through it's veil. Almost like a warm reassuring blanket.

A flash of lightning lit up the village and revealed if only for a passing moment the far end of the alleyway. Further down the side street there was a gated community building with the Tenzo clan symbol proudly resting upon the bars. "What's that over there?" Yui asked curiously. She hadn't been in the village long enough to explore every feature the village had to offer. It was surprising that she had not even found the Tenzo clan district of the village...

[Messatsu!]

"No problem at all, considering all of the things you're father did for the sake of Amegakure, it'd be wrong of me to not let this act as your home. "

He replied, returning the smile along with a gentle nod of his head. Listening to her words even further as she continued to express the amount of concern she held for her father as well as the desire to search every corner of the world for him. Her persistence and relentless had been -without the shadow of a doubt- more than admirable in Ji's 'book of codes'. He couldn't have blamed her, after all, Ji searched for any and all information regarding his father with equal if not more obsession.

"I will update you about any information that I find about your father, I will do that much. Besides, how couldn't I, since our fathers were said to be so close, I almost feel like i've gotten a sister or cousin out of this."

The two continued to walk and talk for several minutes, turning corner after corner, hitting street after street, however, they soon waltzed upon a dark alley that'd been lit up by the streaking bolts of lightning above them. As a result, it illuminated the entire pathway, including the overly large Tenzo Clan crest that rested high upon the side of a gate or wall. Immediately, Yui questioned what it'd been, but rhetorical or not, Ji himself hadn't even known. During all of his research, he focused it upon his own father and neglected both the entirety of Kekkai and Tenzo as a result.

"I've got not idea actually. It looks like the Tenzo crest for sure, but what I'm not even familiar with that area."
