The enshadowed samurai who had attempted to cleave Chae in two on a bias (who we will not refer to as Replicant 1), did not attempt to change the direction or strength of his blow. Instead, he allowed the complete follow-through of both the action and the counter-attack of Chae. However, Chae's counterattack did not go without a hitch of it's own and upon piercing the 'flesh' of the aberration simply forced it in two, two halves falling over in a black mess of goop — axe and all. The black mess seemed to fuse with an already defiled and black ground, leaving much to be wondered before it reappeared.

Replicant 1 had moved so fast and closed the distance between Chae and itself so quickly that he had failed to notice a 'trail' that had been left. Each step of the replicant's foot had turned the ground into a defiled mess of shadow and tendrils — the tendrils undulating and quivering while they worked to expand this unholy ground. By moving behind Replicant 1 and thus where he had been and stepped Chae had fallen into a well-laid plan of sorts, allowing the replicant to properly and easily retaliate in it's own way.

Replicant 1's hands appeared from under the defiled ground under Chae as it forced itself upward like a Great White attacking a seal from much below the ocean. It's right hand balled into a first during such, aiming the punch straight for his chin. Considering the surprise attack, it was unlikely Chae would be given the necessary time to react at all. Who would think to look under their very feet?

Given the fact that Nagi had decided to jump through a window and toss his Kunai, and that the second Samurai had simply been observing this entire time, he was given all the time in the world to react to the Kunai and the explosive trigger. Once the Kunai had traveled the distance and landed near his own frame his hand had went to his sheathed weapon and flicked it up just enough to expose the blade.

"Devour."

There was a sudden depressurization in the local area, the wind seemingly rushing toward the point that marked the small opening into the sheath of his blade. The explosion that was triggered by Nagi just as he landed didn't even so much as make a 'boom', in fact even the expected plume of smoke never appeared fully. Both explosions along with all their energy were drawn to and sucked into the sheath in a whirlwind of nothingness. The sheath of the second Samurai's katana glowed and the first set of kanji across it revealed itself, 'Ichi', before it was returned fully to it's sheath.

"You thought you could defeat Hanzou with this level of ability? Pitiful" The calm samurai spoke.

Once the shuriken(s) left Chae's hand and zoomed for Replicant 1, his body (along with its items and weapons) melted into a black and seemingly malleable substance that Chae had never seen before. No more than a moment later before confusion and realization burned into the forefronts of his mind, a relatively solid fist rose up from the blackened constructs and drove into the bottom-most side of his chin. Powerful, the force turned out to be enough to cause Chae's head to whip back completely, however, he wouldn't have remained stunned considering his reflexes were increased five-fold all thanks to his lightning armour.

With that, the pain and sensation of being hit acted as an alarm which warranted immediate response and action. In the decisive moment that immediate followed the collision between hand and chin, Chae's only hand formed a series of hand signatures as his cloak of Chakra deactivated to conserve a fairly high amount of chakra over time. Upon completion, his hand -with an open palm- lunged towards the ground as his body crouched and leand forward, slamming it into the ground itself as fast has he possible could.

Immediately after his open palm collided with the ground, an unmistakbly powerful stream of raiton chakra coursed through the around and around Chae himself (and the general area) within a five meter multi directional radius. Even if the blackened constructs could phase or split to stop more 'direct' and channeled attacks, perhaps the same couldn't have been said for a widespread attack that covered every bit of space within a fixed range.

With the Chidori's paralytic effects coupled with Chae's overall mastery^T1 over the art itself, it'd been more than likely that it would've had yielded some kind of satisfying results. If not, Chae would have had to adjust as best he could considering his reservoir of chakra had been running dangerously low. Presuming his plans proceeded as intended, he'd merely remain to observe the after math of his actions.

Tier 1 - Static Focus: Master of lightning based chakra, shinobi who favor the art of raiton are capable of using their body's own electrical current as a weapon. Once every two turns, masters of this level may "jolt" any number of victims they come in contact with, numbing the effected area for a post. This unique ability costs no chakra; however, using it again before the "cooldown" has reset will result in the user paralyzing their body entirely for two posts.

[/b] This technique is capable of paralyzing multiple opponents simultaneously (up to a maximum of three) for one full turn. Despite being raiton based, this technique is somewhat slower than the rest, making it relatively easy to evade it (more so due to the fact it simply covers the ground. This technique can also be applied to a weapon in order to dramatically increase its cutting strength. A blade capable of devouring two entire explosions. How the hell am I supposed to counter that. My body remained still yet fluid as I prepared for a follow up attack. My eyes would quickly glance to Chae as I recognized his Raiton chakra funnelling through the shadow-like muck that Replicant 1 had been reduced to.

Seems like Chae was more than capable of beating some half baked clone. But will I really be able two handle these two? They weren't like the other samurai I could effortlessly cut down. So perhaps I should test the waters before diving right in. I understand that this is war, but there is no point in rushing head first into death.

I quickly through my wakizashi towards the two figures, confident that i could retrieve it whenever I wanted thanks to the shiki placed on the hilt. The blade flew towards the smaller man who had sucked in my explosive assault, its speed blurred the object, and seeing as my position was not that far from there own, he would have to deflect it, or dodge. Either one was beneficial for me.
