Battlefield Konoha: the Finale! [2]

With the gates, open and wide, all but welcoming the joint Kiri-Suna forces with open arms, there was little to stop the Legion from pouring into the city much like before. An all out war between the engaged forces erupted in the streets and rooftops, one that would rock the foundation of the Hidden Leaf like never before.

It had taken several long days for this event to come. Hopefully, Konohagakure had prepared well.

Had Kaede been anymore of a heavy sleeper, he would've slept through the entire fuckin' invasion. His little ordeal with those thieves the previous night had left him utterly drained; he didn't even eat dinner before crashin'. Hell, he didn't even change out of his ninja clothes or take a shower. The blond haired shinobi simply fell into his bed and passed out, only to be rudely awakened by the resounding explosions - which he still took as his mother just banging on the table downstairs - going off all throughout the village.

Wiping away a trail of drool from his chin with the back of his hand, he pulled the blinds open.

Whatthe hell?!

Kaede had never seen anythin' like it. Smoke was rising, fires were every where, and ninja - so many ninja. Some of 'em were moving too fast for him to even make out the head band on their foreheads, but he knew one thing was for sure: Konohagakure was in trouble. Bein' as hard headed as he was, and determined to prove himself to his parents, it shouldn't be a surprise that he nearly broke the window off its slider trying to get it open, and bolted through the opening over a second later.

Skippin' from roof top to roof top, Kaede made his way deeper into the city--

Kill them ALL!

"T'ch!" he muttered, his hands instinctively readjusting his goggles on top of his head as he usually did when he was frustrated. "Like hell, whoever tha hell you are!" Clearly, these people didn't know who in the Hell they were messin' with - the Hidden Leaf didn't just fall over and die because a couple hundred, or maybe thousand, assholes decided to just invade. No, they stood and fought!

The will of fire wasn't somethin' to be fucked with, and Kaede demonstrated this as a Kiri-nin bolted out from his right and attempted to cut the youth clean in two. Yet being far more agile than strong, Kaede effortlessly evaded the assault; his tanto flashed out from the small of his back, colliding with the underside of the blade and sending it kunai-shaped sword skyward, just high enough so that his (Kaede) full height could slip just beneath it.

That same tanto-tottin' arm lashed back out merely a fraction of a second after the parry, digging deep into the Kiri-nin's stomach and laying him low. The gash probably wasn't immediately fatal, but if he didn't get help soon he'd probably bleed out.

Without missin' a beat, Kaede continued deeper into the battlefield, lookin' for his teammates. They had to be here somewhere.

Kaede barely heard the man over all the commotion. Though hesistant to stop, he offered a brief glance over his shoulder (enough to where everythin' in front of him was still in his peripherals) just to see who it was that wanted his attention so bad. The leaf symbol the armored man sported was all it took for Kaede to slow his pace, eventually bringing himself to a halt. The small area he occupied was untouched for the time being, but they'd have to make this conversation quick.

"Look, gramps, I'm not sure if you've noticed but we ain't got time for chit-chattin'!" Even if Kaede was young, he boasted the spirit of a sage. It was the dedication of ninja like him that would ensure Konohagakure's victory in this little war. "We gotta protect tha village and Hokage."

Almost as if on queue, another shinobi launched themselves from the shadows nearby. They sure were clever bastards, but they were also pretty stupid to keep underestimatin' Kaede just because he was a child. There weren't about to be anymore free kills, and the penalty for tryin' to cop out on one definitely wasn't pretty.

The tanto's crimson blade lashed out yet, again, this time clean across the Suna-nin's wrist just before he finished his set of seals. This wasn't some small cut, though; no, the miniature blade's length passed through the appendages almost entirely. Blood erupted from either of the wounds, and the hands which barely hung to their respective arms by a tattered piece of flesh, dangled in the wind.

The pain and shock caused a temporary paralysis, and a thundering kick to the side of the bastard's face sent him plummeting over the building's edge. Ignorin' the minor interruption, Kaede continued, screaming from the rooftops. "We gotta go, yo! You got my back or what?"

[Messatsu!]

Finally, it was here - War. Kirigakure and Sunagakure forces came in hard, and fast, for a moment Konoha couldn't even fathom what had happened, but all in thanks to their preparation - at least Ue Zenkami, deducing the situation was by far an effortless task. Civilians screamed in terror, serving to be nothing more than a audible medium to their invasion as they fled away from the village gates and back into more safe areas within. They had no purpose to be on the surface at all, for their homes had become a Battlefield of which would soon be bathed in blood and lifeless bodies.

Needless to say, shit just got real.

Skipping from one building to the next in what seemed to be an endless column, Ue continued his rooftop sprint at level best speeds, aiming to apprehend the hostile invades and dispatch of them accordingly. Things were different, if Kirigakure force believed that this was the same Ue that fled Bakudon gai injured, oh boy they'd be dead wrong. During his swift gaiting, he could see the fleeing civilians crowding the streets below, much like a wave of water through a tight ravine. Ue needed to protect these people, his home, and above all, the hokage, but to do this, he'd have no choice but to put his own life on the line to relinquish his home of this threat. With the urge to protect hot on his mind, his feet shuffled with a burst of energy, seemingly carrying him forward in an instant, landing on the apex of an even higher building than the one a young genin seemed to be bolting passed.

Unfortunately with Ue's cautious and perceptive gaze roaming about the city with a endless flicker, his eyes locked on to a nearby Suna-nin who was perched upon the summit of a building as well just above Kaede's rooftop sprint, descending downwardly with a ninjato that believed would feed upon his flesh. With a quick burst of his calves, Ue launched forward with a spinning sobat kick, to the ninja's mid-section, sending his body crashing into a building.

A dissipating burst of wind was the only testament to his flashing arrival as he landed just a few meters behind the sprinting Kaede. Enveloped in iron clad armour, namely sporting a steel face mask^A which only complemented his pitch dark hooded robe^B and the battle gear^C that covered his mid-section. Even his hands weren't without protection, assuming a pair of Shuko arm & hand pads. A quick pull of wind whipped away at the area as Ue began to speak beneath the confines of his steel mask which caused his voice to sound somewhat distorted while sprinting to juxtapose himself with Kaede.

"Watch out for the rooftops, I just dispatched one above us, these bastards will try and flank us wherever they can! "

Quickly Ue readied himself once more, retrieving a trio of shuriken with his right hand as the other readied to perform its ancient dance if necessary, and depending on the situation at hand he would bath Kirigakure in their own blood

I would notice a stench in the air as me and my newly appointed Captain soared through the air. This stench was rather rancid, pungent and overwhelming. With each fleeting moment I spent in here, a sense of hatred and fear would instill deeper and deeper within my heart. These terrorists now sought out to tear Konohagakure apart like they did Bakudon Gai, but little did they know, Konohagakure would put a much greater fight than the joint shinobi forces. We had something special. This, was the Will Of Fire. I got the energy from every one of our ninja we'd pass by that they were more than ready to give it all they had and 10% more. Konoha was trying it's best to mobolize for War.

Apparently, Kirigakure was able to mobolize a large number of grunts to create an actually impressive fighting force. His plan most likely was to intimidate an bully the villages into submission. It was clear our ninja were more than outnumbered, however, that didn't mean a decisive victory couldn't be won. A feat like that, however would take a level and sound mind in the battlefield, someone who wasn't afraid to take leadership. Natrually, I felt an inclination to take on such roles, seeing as no one else wanted to do it in this time of crisis.

Captain Zen and I would bounce from building to building scoping out potenial targets to dispatch. My right hand would meet my ninjato with a firm grip. It was itching to draw the blood of my homeland's aggressors. It wouldn't be to long before our first victim would recieve a warm Leaf Village welcome. This would come in the form of a deadly Sobat kick by none other than my Captain.

After dispatching our first foe of the day, we'd advanced through the village to come across the young and apparently competent Kaede. I would notice the dieing Suna ninja not to far off the boy, and I would break formation while Ue went ahead. Ninjato in hand, I preceeded to slice the neck of immobile ninja, finishing off. In war, you could never be to sure.

My previously silver ninjato would drip of crimson. I didn't mine though, these things would happen during war. I made an effort to catch up with Kaede and Ue, and after a second, I was running parallel to the two males. Ue would finish warning us about the rooftops, leaving me a moment to speak.

"We need to group up with the other stragglers around here, there's power in numbers. Any of you have any sensing techniques?"

Some people handled war better than others. Kaede's clarity despite the chaos and destruction that was surrounding him could be credited to his child-like demeanor, and his inability to fully comprehend what this assault meant. He hadn't heard about the massacre at Bakudon Gai - yet - and had never been thrust this deep into the fires of battle. As far as he was concerned, these guys weren't any different from the thugs he'd handled not too long ago in the small village outside Konohagakure. They were bullies; assholes; jerks that thought they could just take whatever they wanted.

Clearly, they didn't know when that when ya played with fire - namely the Will of Fire - you got burned badly.

The man that Kaede had recently just sent crashing head first into the streets below was taken out by a young girl, one that sported the famous Leaf symbol as well. Now we got some serious damn back up, the blond-haired shinobi thought to himself while gauging all those that had come to support their village.

Though he could barely hear 'em from up top on the roof (Kaede is already on the top), he caught several of their ending words and decided to go off of 'em. "Don't'cha worry about up here, I'm kickin' the snot out of these guys. I'll cover ya'll if ya can handle the goons on the streets."

His voice was as cheerful as ever, showing he was actually enjoying this little test of skill. In all honesty, he'd never been so excited.

"And nah, no sensory garbage here." Sticking his nose in the air, he brandished his dripping-wet tanto high above his head. "I'll sniff the bastards out if I have'ta. Gramps can come with me, and the pretty lady can stay with the masked creep."

Blood flowed. The metal rung loudly as it clashed with Touketsu’s skin, the edge tearing through the clothing, yet not the skin. The Airontoku were blessed with hardened skin greater than any steel. Upon the ineffective strike, Touketsu lashed out with his right hand, retractable blade attached to the foreman thrusting forth as it impaled. The man gurgled as red flowed forth from his throat, plummeting onto the grounds as he swallowed his own blood. ”Pity.” Touketsu mumbled as he approached a field of rubble towards the left, the remains of the ruined home leading upwards to the roof of a home that had not yet met its desolation.

Rapid steps brought him upwards to the roof to a total height of ten meters, his crimson eyes glaring into the distance, drawing in the scenes of the disaster. I will reign the very fury of the earths upon them. he declared in thought as he stood atop the roof with folded arms, muscles bulging as he gleamed with unmatched grandiosity. ”Invaders, this is your last chance to retreat.”[/i] he roared, voice mighty as droplets of lava dripped forth from his mouth, the fiery substance falling onto the roof, sending smoke rising into the air as it burned through the rocks.

Upon the bold declaration, a shinobi of the Sand rushed forth from the top of a nearby building, fist striking outwards as a jump work in conjuction with the hand. With a shift of the eyes, the Airontoku noted the assailant, and retorted rapidly with a step to the side and a hooked kick with the leg, sending the curmudgeon soaring into the distance, bones crashing as he clashed with the floor. War. This is where the soldier was at home. Too long had he attempted to sway from his former path, escape the violence that had tainted his life since the Great Shinobi War. He cared no more. Battle was a soldiers duty.

Of the eight kunai within the pouch on his left hip, all had been wrapped with tags, eager to tear into flesh with furious explosion. The retractable wrist blade had long withdrawn. Further comrades had stood in the distance from Touketsu, Sora ten meters away and Ue twenty. ”Let us leap into the very flames of hell and win this war.”[/i] he bellowed, right fist raised.

Apparently, I'd just been in tha wrong fuckin' area. Tha real party was poppin' off right under my nose, but thanks to my beautiful Miku, we'd caught wind of 'em. Though she hadn't perfected the use of her kekkei genkai, tha simple fact it could gauge an incredibly massive distance in all directions was fuckin' amazin'. We'd pin-pointed a small group of Leaf-nin not too far from our previous position, and not wastin' any time, I hastily made my way across tha burnin' and collapsin' rooftops.

Tha distance between us vanished in tha link of an eye, and in a matter of seconds I'd cut a chunk of the village into a meager four meters. I was comin' up on some blond-haired kid's left flank, distracted by talkin' about some garbage. It was really irrelevant, namely because his little Gandhi theatrics were about ta come ta an abrupt, brutal halt.

Whippin' my left arm out and around, Hebi's superlative blade kissed the afternoon air with a loud roar and cluster of light. A simultaneous seal from my free right hand caused the unique blade to launch forward like tha engine of a private jet or space-bound aircraft. Tha seemingly sentient blade snaked across the rooftops, kicking up shingles and tearing stone and brick apart like they were paper-mache. No doubt he heard tha noise, cause he turned just in time ta see Hebi's peak leap from the earth with a flick of my wrist, slapping his tanto away before taking a sharp southern turn. Like a rolling wave, it rebounded again ta slice across his side and literally lift him clean from the floor with all of its momentum.

Tha buckin' like motion from the serpentine-esque blade sent tha orange-clad kid soaring back toward me, to which I simply caught him with my iron hand. My fingers furled around the back of his collar, and I effortlessly ushered him forward to the others that were nearby (though they were still four meters away). He wasn't dead, but he damn sure wasn't movin' - he must've passed out from tha pain, and I couldn't blame him.

He was lucky I hadn't killed his lil' ass.

"We really ain't got the time to be playin' with ya, children." I jerked the comatose body in my grasp, all the while Hebi almost instantly retracted back to its close-quarters mode. My voice was loud, and even the furthest from us (Katsumaru, which was twenty meters behind the other three) would've been able to hear me pretty fuckin' clearly. "How about I let ya have yer friend back and walk away from this in one piece?"

As a sign of good faith, even though it was a bit harsh, I discarded tha boy like he was a piece of trash. He easily cleared tha handful of meters that separated me and my crew from tha Leaf loyalists, crashing against the rooftops, bouncing several times, before skimming ta a halt just at the edge. He'd busted his lip, blacked his eye, and probably twisted his arm during his lil' escapade; however, he was still very much alive and breathin'.

"Now scram, before I change my mind."

For the same reasons as Genbu, I will be auto'ing Ue Zenkami

Good god damn, that was all one could say after witnessing the speed and power of Jubei' Empath. Hot on his heels while tailing roughly 5 meters from Akira's southwest, he allowed Akira to go on ahead but Jubei himself dampened his gait, namely because his own blade needed not to be in close proximity to bring about sprays of crimson murder. Needless to say as the group of leaf nin blitzed forward with all they had, the armoured shinobi didn't even notice what hit him, not could have have begun to fathom exactly what. Molding the essence of his Empath, its blue, 20 meter essence elongated with a quick, horizontal strike that came across his mid-section like quicksilver through the night sky.

It'd be expected if his own allies presumed him dead just from the sheer power, but in actuality he was struck down by Jubei's reverse blade, a non-lethal strike, but one meant to maim to the utmost degree. A concussive blast of wind dissipated from his entire body, the force, causing even the buildings beside them to crack and tremor. And then. . .he was simply gone. But the sound of billowing rock and shattering walls was a testament to his previous position. Ue's body flew to his own left, crashing through a plethora of walls, just coming to a complete stop just short of four buildings away. Surely his allies would worry, but don't fret, he was still alive and kicking, just, barely, though of course there was no possible way for the others to know.

With two leaf shinobi dispatched, Jubei made his way roughly 5 meters to Akira's left, his Empath calm and at rest as it'd been banished back into its prison of darkness. Having given Akira an ample amount of time to speak, Jubei gave his comical retort.

"That's one to one, looks like we've got a tie on our hands folks, I guess overtime starts now!"

This was interesting, finally after a seven day long travel Sayano arrived with his home village, and Kirigakure at the door to Konohagakure. Without much effort they barged in, like they let everyone in on purpose. Running throughout the village, maiming whoever he saw with his sword - it was soon covered entirely in a dark crimson color. He didn't really enjoy slaying helpless people, but when it was time for such actions to be taken he wouldn't hesitate. Throughout the entire onslaught, Sayano presented no emotions what so ever, just a blank face on a blank canvas.

His brown hues scanned the area intensely, noticing four ninja standing on top of a rooftop. Hm, this was odd. They didn't look like they were cooperating neither. This meant one of two things, teammates were arguing, or they were from different villages. The only way to find out is to survey the area. Applying chakra to his feet, he scaled the top of the building behind the building where the four were standing on. Sword sheathed, he'd move silently, crouching at the rooftop to get a better view without being seen.

From the looks of it, they were part of the same army that Sayano belonged to. Whilst the other two across from them were Leaf natives. For now, he'd observe the battle. It didn't look like the two were scared, there bodies radiated confidence - and that is what he'd believe in. However, his eyes were cautious - being very wary of his surroundings whilst his ears stayed fine tuned just in case someone tried to sneak up on him. He was around 40 meters from Akira and Jubei.

And just like that, in a flash, things turned from worse to horrible. Two very strange men, roughly 20 meters away, would preform an act of aggression on both of my teamates, taking them both out in one full swoop. The man to the right , whom I presumed to be none other than a samurai would send Ue crashing into wall after wall before coming to a halt some number of buildings away. Unmatched and clearly outnumbered, sadly, the only thing I could do now was retreat and try to salvage my Captain.

The fact that Ue was knocked through building after building, rather than be chopped clean in half by the edge of the blade would strike me as rather odd. Any samurai would make quick work of Ue should they get as clean a strike as this samurai would. Coming to a conclusion, I would add up that Ue was hit with a blunt source of damage, rather than a edged and focused one, it was the only justifiable reason that Ue wasn't seperated in half from the strike. Not only this, but his armor would also be further protection from the blunt force. It was more than safe to assume Ue was alive and injured. If retreating now meant saving his life, then this immeadiate neeed would have to be met.

As soon as I would see the man swing his sword and succesfully knock Ue away, I would pivot on my right foot to face the direction Ue was knocked, and in a flash, I would cover a distance of 10 meters with a flicker. The two hostiles infront of me would have no time to notice me slip into the rubble and dust, for they were much to busy cracking jokes and beating up on Kaede.

I would continue running through all three buildings before I would look around the fourth one to find Ue. Nowhere to be found. As I theorized, the blow wasn't fatal, and it was likely he was still alive. Nevertheless, I had no time to dwell on this, and I would ascend down the stairs of the building and go through the backdoor to dart down the alley inbetween the building I was standing on and the one behind it. I was at a safe distance here, and out of the two's line of vision. I imagined I was about 30 meters away from where I was standing previously.

I would scurry sneakily up the streets in the direction of the nearest exit to the village. From here, I planned to flee into the forest and try to reach Kumogakure No Sato. If there was any hope of Konohagakure surviving, it'd be located there.

The curmudgeons disposed swiftly of two warriors of the Leaf, their strikes brutal and efficient as the blades had done their work. A little over twenty meters in the distance they stood, Touketsu glaring upon the duo from the roof, arms now dropped to the side. He stood alone against the atrocious warriors yet again, a damned fate he had found himself in yet again; previously in Bakudon Gai, foolishly so and now within the walls of his very home. Mayhap the man was outmatched, a mere victim to the fury that was to strike, but that mattered not; some would consider such an ideal, the refusal to retreat, arrogant or foolish. For Touketsu, it was the latter. A trained soldier he was, but lacked judgment in times as these

”You expect a man to simply flee when their home is invaded?”[/i] Touketsu growled, voice powerful, growing louder with each new word. A quick glance was given to the escaping Sora. ”Women are a different matter.” Touketsu mumbled under his breath before returning the stare towards the two swordsmen. ”I will stand, bleed, and die if I must. As warriors, you understand. Pride and honor.”[/i]

Touketsu stepped backwards towards the left, a diagonal path, a quick leap carrying off the building and falling towards the ground, the drop no higher than several meters, hence scarcely taking a second. Immediately, with that movement towards the edge his left hand began a series of seals, fingers dancing delicately as the right hand snapped downward to reach into the pouch to wrap around the cold handle of a kunai, its blade covered in thin, white parchment. Shortly after landing, the hand seals had reached completion, the intermingling of the chakra natures complete. He had prepared the descent so that he faced into the direction of both the assailants (Jubei and Kushinada), approximately twenty-two meters away.

With the completion of the seals, he opened his mouth and spat forth a sphereical rock, glowing red with a grandiose, terrifying heat ¹.Only one meter it flew before crashing into the ground, the short distance passing almost instantly. What was this bizarre showing of expulsing rock show, seemingly so harmless? That, truly, it was. The bludgeoning sound of collision rose as the spherical rocks slammed into the grounds, sending a thick cloud of smoke rising into the air, spreading through the rubble and streets, an area of thirty meters in total covered, smoke rushing forwards into the direction of the opponents.

Quick backwards steps were taken as the smoke spread, increasing the distance between himself and the foe, woefully depending on the smoke’s cover for a slight hesitance to allow for the second series of seals to complete, initiated immediately with the backwards repositioning. Left hand danced, chakra gathering as he spat forth a thick puddle of magma which begun to take on a shape of its own, burning through the grounds as it formed into a simulacrum of Touketsu himself, a bunshin composed entirely of lava ².

The Airontoku continued running backwards, clone close in steed, only five meters ahead, appearing through the smoke.

"Pussies," I muttered while tha flock of 'em started boltin'. The two cats the samurai and I took out must'a been some serious badasses, because as soon as they hit the ground everyone else scattered like a bunch of fuckin' cockroaches. I couldn't blame 'em, though. I was pretty intimidatin' to tha average person. One of tha lil' pricks managed to nut-up and stick around, though. I had ta give it ta him; he definitely had fuckin' pair on 'im. "Looks like that just leaves you, champ."

Tha moment I saw him move, I did tha exact same thing. If he thought I was about ta let him just run from us, he was dead fuckin' wrong. Twenty meters really wasn't shit, especially considerin' how large I was. A single step from either of my unnaturally long legs cleared more than a meter itself, so givin' the fact that I was runnin' with all intent on beatin' tha livin' shit out of this bastard, you can imagine how little time he really had. I won't lie and say I'd ever seen anythin' like it, because I hadn't. It was definitely somethin' new - niggas spittin' fiery rocks from their mouths and shit, even in tha world of tha shinobi. But, it didn't dampen my resolve or my plans.

What happened next was even more intriguin', as tha rocks evolved into a very useful smoke screen. Granted, I couldn't see tha slimely lil' bastard for a short period of time; however, tha same rule applied ta him. He'd put himself at a severe disadvantage whether he knew it or it not, because that absolute worse thing ya could do was let me get out of yer sights. Ah well, I presumed he just had ta learn tha fuckin' hard way. Who didn't, in that day and age?

Again, when you're talkin' to someone that could cross large distances faster than yer average shinobi, thirty meters really wasn't shit ta deal with. After a single handseal¹, a couple of well-placed strides easily put me due north of my former position. Of course, because of my favored weapon, my ninjutsu based options weren't very wide or encompassing. However, it didn't matter - tha bastard I was huntin' wouldn't have even known I'd done anything.

Meanwhile, I kept to the roofs, my crimson eyes locked on the leading enemy and the one that followed. "Aye, don't make me fuckin' chase you! What happened to pride and honor?" I bellowed from the roof, Hebi glistening against the afternoon sunshine. "Fight me like a fuckin' man!"

Life was definitely interesting, but this war and this level of violence that plagued this war was something far ahead of Jubei. Truth be told, he really didnt' approve of this, however, for the sake of restoring honor to the samurai he followed Kou on his misunderstood path. Needless to say he came to his senses for now. The samurai would one take seize control of this world, but that time was not now, not even close. With that he simply took his leave, relinquishing his own presence and being from this grand act of violence. Returning home to the land of iron, he'd simply wait for his time to re-merge from the clutches of the samurai.
