Yui followed the waiter to her table before being seated and ordering stew and bread. The waiter shuffled off quietly to the elevator and descended back to the kitchens in the lower levels. She sat on the roof of one of the many sky scrapers in the village that peered down on the many citizens below moving about like ants. The terrace also had a canvas that covered the patrons of the restaurant shielding them from the downpour.
She propped her elbows up on the table and set her chin in her palm supporting her head as she gazed blankly through the curtain of rain. The rain was starting to lose it's charm. Not that she was getting tired of it or annoyed by any means but her enthusiasm for it was starting to fade. It was too commonplace here to be enjoyed as thoroughly as she once had. Instead she looked past it and off into the distance at the ruins of the building Ji and her had spotted earlier.
She was waiting for her friend Ranshi to arrive for their late afternoon lunch, but her thoughts now drifted back to her father and the history of the Tenzo and Kekkai clans. She knew next to nothing about them and told herself that she didn't want to know about them, but curiosity at away at her core. Try as she might to deny it, she knew someday she would have to venture into the building and explore for herself.
The grumble of her stomach brought her back to reality and she looked down at the table. "That douche forgot to fill my glass," she muttered darkly to herself as she took the empty glass on the table and held it out over the edge of the building. The heavy downpour began to fill it with haste and within two minutes the glass was filled with purified rain water. She set it back down on the table as drops of rain ran down the side of the glass onto the table.
