Crafting and Rebuilding [Missions]

SETTING THE FOUNDATIONS
RANK: B
DESCRIPTION: It wouldn't be a lie to say that the village still bore obvious signs that the wars had once reaped everything from its people. Due to the heavy impact such attacks have had on the village and the time that's passed, people have chosen to continue rebuilding the abandoned and destroyed buildings in Kusagakure so that they could become used again. Turn empty shells of bricks in to homes and shops. Grab a paintbrush, start making some cement or start clearing the rubble from the remains of the homes- Just do anything that you can which can help the village prosper and return back to its average self.
OBJECTIVE: Help rebuild the more damaged buildings and areas of the village!
PAY: 5,000 Ryo and 300 EXP.

With his tools and equipment secured in his rucksack, Ujiyasu would leave the store and lock the door. It was the first time in a long while that his crafting skills would be put to use on quite a large scale: he was to help rebuild several buildings that were primed for reconstruction and this time he was to be the foreman, rather than a student.

Kusagakure had taken quite a while to be rebuilt from the Yonbi's assault, but these few buildings would be among the last that needed to be done. With the efforts of everyone in the village, they have managed to bring Kusagakure back to its former glory. With luck and loyalty on the part of the people, perhaps they could exceed their past glory. In a way, they already have now that Kusa no Kuni is considered a Great Nation, a feat they had never ever obtained before.

As Ujiyasu walked down the streets to his first site, he actually got to take stock of what's happened over his time as a shinobi. He had gone through a lot within one year: he had undertaken a variety of tasks, met a number of people both in Kusa and elsewhere, almost died, killed someone on duty as a shinobi, became Chuunin, encountered a Bijuu, began to undertake more serious missions from the Kusakage herself, and even discovered that both Kasumi and himself have become very close. It's been a huge year for him, and he knew there were many more to come.

He reached the site of his first mission: what looked like the remains of a two story house, with burned areas all around. It looked like there would be a considerable amount of work to be done, which made him grateful that he would be working with a team to accomplish this task.

For a while, Ujiyasu would examine the site, and plan out the tasks that need doing, as well as what materials to use. Given that most of what's left is scorched and charred, they would need to be removed which would add to the work that needs to be done. He would write it down on some paper, so that he wouldn't forget about what needed to be done.

As he was the first to arrive, he would then prepare the area for work: he would clear out the weeds and overgrowth with his Fuuton and his kodachi. The task wasn't that much harder than when he first cleared the overgrowth all those months ago as a rowdy Genin, and in fact he found it to be a simple task. With his ability, it'd save hours off the time it'd take to fully clear the area of aggressive plant life.

From there, Ujiyasu would start to organise resources.

With a handseal, Ujiyasu formed water clones from the well system that had been expanding alongside Kusagakure's growth. This building was also linked to the system, but there was little doubt that it would need not only maintenance, but also upgrading. This made things a bit simpler for Ujiyasu as it wouldn't be too much of an issue to replace and upgrade, as opposed to installing the necessary piping from scratch. That and thanks to his improved control over water, they wouldn't need to have the piping active either.

Seeing his clones get to work and collect the lumber from the lumber mill that was a short distance away, Ujiyasu couldn't help but smile. His skills with his jutsu have taken massive strides as of late, and his handseal speed with his Suiton jutsu was just one of the things that he had managed to improve on. He had also refined his skills with Fuuton and his own Chakra nature: Hyouton. Despite Hyouton still being taxing for him to use, Ujiyasu was determined tobecome well versed with his own genetics that he inherited from his parents. He would make them proud and maintain the peace that he spent his career trying to preserve.

As his clones returned with carts of lumber, the Chuunin would perform some more handseals, this time to create some more solid clones made of ice. With the additional help, the quartet of clones, two of water and two of ice, would work on stockpiling the wood, while Ujiyasu would sketch some plans.

After a fair while of organising, stockpiling and planning, the sound of foot steps could be heard, prompting Ujiyasu to turn in the direction of the sounds. The builders had arrived, armed with their construction gear, as well as a few carts of extra supplies. A smile spread on the boy's lips as he got up to greet the team with handshakes and respectful bowing.

"Glad to meet you all. I'm Ujiyasu Nakamura, and today it looks like I'll be working with you all as foreman."

A stocky, moustached man with red hair gave the Chuunin a nod and grinned heartily.

"We heard we'd be getting a Shinobi to be in charge. Thought it was odd, but I didn't think we'd be getting the pupil of The Old Woman and owner of the Grassforge! I'll be glad to work with you today sir."

Murmurs of agreement and nods ensued as the rest of the team voiced their appreciation for the choice of who was to lead the team. Ujiyasu laughed a little nervously at the praise and rubbed the back of his head a bit awkwardly.

"Ahh... well... I'm not exactly that great of a craftsman, not compared to my mentors."

A taller, black haired boy shook his head and waved off Ujiyasu's words with his hands before smiling back at the wild-haired Shinobi.

"Ahh it'll take a long time before you can achieve such prowess, we all know that. But seriously, in one year you became a reliable, trusted and skilled smith and craftsman. Hell you're our go-to guy if we need things fixed. Knowing you're in charge of a project this big will be another feather in your cap for such a short time as one of us."

When he puts it like that, it is a pretty big thing I guess... and I have had a fair bit of business in maintaining things around Kusa. Sure I haven't made a weapon or some armour... but at least I can put this talent to use... until I can get the time to make things for war again. I feel we may need it soon... and I just hope I can start making things to help in our defence.

"Well... thank you all. Anyway, enough chat, we got ourselves some work! Let's see if we can make this house a reality rather than a relic of the past by the end of today!"

With a response that sounded almost like a rallying cry, the team of builders were divided and assigned tasks. Everyone looked eager, and Ujiyasu knew that this mission will be made much easier with everyone's co-operation. Just like a Shinobi Team. Just like Team Doshaburi. Just like Kasumi.
